There's still core mechanics that need to be refined to enhance the experience. It's a beautiful game that suffers from, if anything, too much freedom for players.2 points

Sounds like you need to posse up bud. Not killing animals?? No money ? Stay on your horse looking for treasure maps. You will get a heartbeat when close. Much faster on horseback. Jump in posse recruiting thread and get yourself some reliable team mates to enjoy this masterpiece ! Drink it all in bud !2 points

Are you able to take a screenshot? I'd send a bug report to Rockstar if it's indeed a glitch. (but not doubting you, of course) https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507?step=a2541d3e This forum isn't run by Rockstar as they don't have forums. This is a fan community but you'll still find lots of info and help here. Welcome!1 point

Yeah, and that's really the key right there. As long as there are things to do in the game that are fun, the grind isn't so much of a grind. When it becomes too tedious, that's when I start losing interest in a game.1 point

I’m loving the grind in RDO more than any other game that emphasizes it, mostly because there’s so much stuff you can do. Variety is the spice of life, and it works well in the West also. 👍1 point

Well, these online games from R* are all about the grind. If you think about it, it's the acquisition of wealth and possessions that help drive a lot of people. It gives us something to work for.1 point

Sure. I'm not suggesting it's not without faults or need of improvement. .....so is GTAO in my eyes. It's the idea that the game is dying or will be a failure because updates don't come fast enough. .....or the game doesn't provide options suited to their play style. ......or when some disagree with it's direction, etc. Same was said about GTAO and it's still going strong years later. Now, I'm not saying RDO will share the same success but I think it's still too early to tell how it will fare in the long run. Updates are always slow with R* but the thing is, content keeps getting added so eventually, RDO will become a lot more robust than it is now. ....and refined as it is tweaked. On the note of core mechanics, I'm very interested to see what they have in store for the gunplay changes as that's something I always felt was rough in R* game's and too arcadey.1 point

Im just asking out of curiosity what makes you play this type of game then.if anything i would like it more rough and danger lurking all over the map.just amazes why people even play and then have such a downer attitude about it.but still carry on playing.think happy thought and get those guns out.you may enjoy it if you let loose.and solo is difficult if you cant handle yourself in game and get wound up easy by griefers.1 point

You definitely have me beat, my friend 😉 I played PC games around the late 90’s/early 2000’s. Never did have a dedicated gaming PC, though. Tribes and Battlefield 1942 were my go-to games in those days. Maybe one day I’ll pull the trigger on getting me a rig, but for now I’m content with my consoles. Since Microsoft is starting to “share” their exclusive Xbox titles with PC, I’m starting to not see the point in buying their console. Especially when you consider that Xbox Live is free on PC (at least I think it still is). My main objective in getting a PC would be to take advantage of the emulators so I can play the games of yesteryear without having to have all those consoles handy. Even then I would still probably make it a suped up HTPC because I love couch gaming. We’ll see what time holds in store. Thanks for the warm welcome ✌️1 point

There's few games that can match the value for money ratings of RDR2. There's nothing I've played or seen lately that approaches how much I've enjoyed RDR2. If you've enjoyed the videos, then you'll enjoy playing it much much more. Don't bother waiting for the new best thing.1 point

GTA6 isn't likely coming any time soon. I wouldn't bother earmarking money for it right now.1 point

This was tough poll for me because I always knew that I would share my time between the 3 roles and still do after knowing more of the details of each. I'm going to be dividing my time between them all. I think it's important to note that the game will allow players to do this so folks won't be locked into one particular role. Also, I never looked at RDO as a "dying game" but of course, I do believe this new content will attract players new and old. .....or breathe "new life" into the game as you put it. ......so will future content drops just like they do for GTAVO.1 point

It does sound similar to GTA businesses... yet not exactly. For one, we have the proximity based radar blips and I don’t see them changing it. Also, they haven’t made it overly ridiculous with overpowered DLC yet. Also, they mention spotting rival business wagons at a greater distance, so It sounds like the act of taking them out will be something more than ‘look, someone is doing something. Go kill them everyone.1 point

The following is all part of the "Summer Update" status / news: ADDITIONAL ENHANCEMENTS And in addition to these roles, the next update will also deliver a variety of new content and improvements aimed at enhancing all your experiences inside the world of Red Dead Online, whether within roles, competitive modes or simply exploring free roam. Substantial, across the board changes are being made to combat and movement to allow for a more responsive control system that still feels natural. Additional damage reduction to Defensive players is also on the horizon, and the game will now remember your preferred playing style (Offensive or Defensive) when you exit and relaunch the game. There will also be many more lootable items to be found throughout the world, like containers on wagons or the occasional Gold Tooth on an unfortunate soul. The next Red Dead Online update with also feature the ability to reset your character’s appearance and much, much more. Stay tuned for more details to come and check back for new weekly events in Red Dead Online. When they say the "next update", I think it's clear they are referring to the Summer Update. The excerpt above is a description of what is supposed to come in the Summer Update. These content drops seem to be settling into a seasonal schedule. The Spring update was mid May and the Summer Update seems set to release sometime before Fall begins (late-Sept). My guess is in the next week or two but that's just an assumption.1 point

I still say September 17th will be the day. I've known for about a month that it wasn't coming today. I'm going to continue to rake in as much gold as I possibly can with the daily challenges and I hope to bring myself up to finishing more of the Single Player story. It's been months since I checked in on Arthur.1 point
