Well, my internet kicked in and I tried out some of the new material... I started up cripp’s trading co., got my bounty license, bought my collector kit from the gypsy girl and joined the wheeler elite club or whatever it’s called (I knew all that gold I’d been hoarding would come in handy). My first impression of the new roles, I love them. They’re just passively there adding a purpose behind everything you do. Cripps takes your hunting odds and ends and at some point fills his wagon for you to deliver. I made $68 for a long delivery. bounties are available all over. Just pick a poster and go catch one if you feel like it. I haven’t done much for the collector yet, but once you start a collection (in my case eggs)it starts out like a treasure map. Then in your travels if you nearanother item, you are prompted to go investigate../ going back to the survey pole, I’m officially changing my answer to ‘dabbling in all three. I like the new feel.1 point

Hey Guys! Just a little pro tip! (Cause i just experienced 2 of them) Dont always follow the obvious path when travelling.. Especially at night. I noticed a lantern in a wooded area off the path, I roll up to it and there’s a treasure map stuck with a knife on a tree trunk.. This is so awesome!! - Theyre out there everywhere now. Mine was just outside blackwater.. But i think there is more!! 🤠1 point

I hated slippery bastard and I'm glad they nerfed it, even though I knew how to deal with it. All you had to to was tackle them.1 point

increased animations was a realy, realy bad move, took away all the realistic feel in favor of arcade playstyle. i doubt i will be playing mutch if it dont return to how it was. apparently they want GTAO players to jump on RDR2O...........1 point

Has anyone else noticed trains are now running in New Austin. I was down there collecting a bounty for the role daily challenges as well as searching for collectors items when when a train came and stopped at Macfarland's Ranch. Prior to than I had never seen a train in New Austin.1 point

Dont give cripps your feathers you will lose money as he only values 3 star full carcasses the most then the pelt and so on.sell your feathers to the butcher or you will lose money.find it odd myself as i saved all 10 feathers of every bird for this update to find this out.1 point

At this point id be all for R* removing PVP entirely. The pvp has gone from bad to worse. Rather just play the pve.1 point

I Agree with most of what you say, however... I am not, and will never be a big fan of PVP, and even though i really love online, i never actually interact with other players, unless they are friends / posse members.. I mostly solo, and avoid others.. Maybe because i like my experience to be a more.. Roleplaying style, and for me, the new speeding up, makes me feel more like a god damn outlaw, shooting up npc`s and stuff, like a god damn baws! - If you are into PVP alot, i kinda get what you say, and how its not for the good. They made these changes for the good, and i love "the looting body" process now, even though its a BIT arcade`ish.. For me personally, there aint much i miss now, for this to be a complete experience overall.. Its really minor, and thing that should already be in it, but that i am hoping coming later.. (Snow in the ACTUAL mountains, Baths, Hotels, More games like in story mode, etc etc) 🤠1 point

Rockstar has always had a strong relationship with Sony, as has Naughty Dog. That's part of the reason I chose PS4 over XBone, though I have owned consoles from both Sony & Microsoft in the past. Some games are so exclusive they don't even cross platform at all!1 point

Lol absolutely agree - and if the bath rumour turns out to be correct, we can recreate Tuco's moment from The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. Assuming they let us have a gun on a string around our neck..!1 point

VERY much indeed.. This was the update the game deserved, and i feel like i have so much to do.. Yet there is still alot of stuff i want to have Rockstar give us! I heard a little Rumor, that the next update will give us a possibility to take a bath! (Cause why not???) Every outlaw needs a bath! 😜 Things might take time for Rockstar, but with this update, they gave more than i could expect.. so i know they work in the background, to make it even better.. BIG plus!1 point

Cheers - look forward to poking around in the new stuff tonight. Everything I have read about the update suggest that it will give the game the kick that some people thought it needed.1 point

Unfortunatly it does not seem like it mate... But TONS of other stuff, so i hope it comes later.. Afaik the Bandoiler, is also only avalible as a full Outfit, and not sellable alone..1 point

LOVING the new update!! I just reached rank 5 in Bouty hunter, and level 23 on the Outlaw pass stuff.. I spent about 8000$, and 67 goldbars, and there is still alot more i want to get. I have had 1 incident, where another player, (level 34) was trying to ruin a bounty i was out for, by killing me! - but i put the bounty on my horse, and had around 13 min, before handing the bounty to the sheriff`s office, so i started hunting the other player, and got around 7 kills, before the other played logged out. (WIN!) Only thing i experienced.. Also, since the new update, i have got 4 treasure maps.. 2 by Random events, 1 by gang hideout, and 1 by leveling up!1 point

I'm very excited to give it a spin! It's been so long since I've actually bought a Call of Duty that was actually worth checking out. I'm excited about the Beta, definitely want to give it a go. I usually get hooked on betas, and then eventually get tired of a game after a while. I guess that's just the nature of games, but it's hard to say if this game will be good because it isn't out yet. I try not to get to confident in betas, as Call of Duty is NOTORIOUS for micro-transactions. If Call of Duty can stay away from micro-transactions, I think this game has huge potential in a long life, as previously, Call of Duty games get boring very fast with micro-transactions and the lack of innovation in the franchise. They finally changed the engine, movement system, and pretty much everything about the game that makes it different from the other Call of Duty games. I guess we will just have to wait and see how everything plays out!1 point

One last thing. At level 10 I think you can get an ability card, the Dead eye card I think. The three that most people use are Slippery Bastard, Paint it black and Slow and Steady. The rest are either defensive or offensive cards and you get them every 10 levels I think? Level 40 you get the last one. So make sure as soon as you are able to, you load one because as you earn xp it will count toward the card and updating it. The cards start at tier I and go to Tier III, the update cost $350 the first time and take 10,000 xp to go from tier I to II, then I think it is $550 to upgrade them again and you need an additional 15,000 xp so it takes a while. So as soon as you can start a card, go ahead and pay the $50 and activate it so while you are leveling up you are also upgrading your cards. Also, it is very easy to go from level 12 to level 25 as you get higher and higher in levels it takes more XP to level up. I am at level 177 and it takes me 10,000 xp to hit the next level, when you are starting out it is closer to 2,400 so 4x as much later on, so during these early levels, grab those cards early as you can. You will do best if you do story missions first, and you can do them as many times as you want. Also, if you do the trader role, dont buy materials, do the missions to get them this way you get xp as well as role xp and you need both. Lastly, something I skipped completely is PVP you can also play pvp modes and they pay cash, gold and xp. The better you do the more they pay, this will give you a break if you get bored grinding, it will also teach you how to fight with others. They added free aim pvp servers so if you havent tried that give it a try. Those are going to be great for new players, dont rely on auto aim, if someone uses slippery it negates it anyway, unless you use PIB but I digress. The more you can learn about free aim playing the better a player you will be. PvP will let you learn a lot and keep on earning, some lve it and only play it, others avoid it like the plague and there are many people in between. Give it a try you may like it, also races, any of the pvp modes pay out all three gold, cash, and xp so its worth a look.1 point

What he said ^^^ Shoot EVERYTHING, all birds, pluck them all, stow the larger ones, eagles, hawks, owls, and vultures. Learn where the chickens and cows are. Shoot every toad every muskrat, and every turtle, if it is alive, it has $$ on it, and you can carry a ton of them.1 point

There is, but honestly, just get whatever you get, dont worry about it, they are all around the same. Best most expensive animals are Panther, cougar, Elk, Moose, Grizzly bear, Black bear, Desert Sheep, Rams, Pronghorns, deer, etc... Pike are I think 8$ each but you can only carry one, they are right near Valentine though so if you hunt down and back you can do like 20$ every 10 minutes, etc.. lots and lots of videos on youtube to make money in RDR2. Gators give you big game meat, dont sell it. craft it and add either creeping thyme, oregano or Mint to it and save them, they fill your cores, Bores geese and ducks give you animal fat, you wont need it for a while, but that makes exploding ammo rounds later on. Game = rabbits, racoons, coyotes, etc.. do your daily challenges, it will teach you where everything is and help you make $$ plus locate new animals while you are learning. My Colter routine made me over 10k$ very quickly and I leveled up 45 levels in a few weeks. Also, South of Shady bell at the water you can catch small mouth and large mouth bass, down about a mile at Catfish Jacksons you can catch trout, these all sell for $2. or $2.50 each, and you carry 10 of each, plus you can trample soome and pick those up or use dynamite and carry those too. In these two places you can do very well very quickly, Shady bell is good but you alwasy end up with others and some are good aome are bad, so its a risk, Colter is 95% yours alone if you fast travel from Tumbleweed or St Denis.1 point

Yeah take the best gator pelt leave the rest. Skin everything you get BUT if you are going to give it to Cripps, he wont take skinned carcasses or plucked birds. so if they are for Cripps, just put the whole animal on your horse and bring it to him, you can carry one carcass and two smaller things on the sides.1 point

Loving the update!! I saved up so I was able to get the club membership plus all three roles started, I do the collecting and hunting at the same time and then bring everythign back to camp for Cripps and head out again, when I get camp all set up and running well I go do a few bounties, then I open a new collector map and head out to collect whatever it is and hunt both ways for Cripps, and on and on and on, I keep running into unique situations, I found a guy screaming about the wagon that was running off with his wife in it, I couldnt get to it in time, so they went off a cliff!! lol I found a few situations like that, a deer walking around with an arrow in it, I skinned it and found the arrow was a collector item, also found one in a wolf. Ive spent a lot of money and gold though. So far Ive spent $4500 and 120 gold bars getting everything set up and buying many of the percs and rank unlocks, like new horses, a dog, stew pot, etc.. Also, I hadnt seen anyone talking about the daily challenges, but I noticed we now get additional daily challenges for the three roles, so I think 10 a day in all instead of 7. I am loving the ability to name my custom outfits and save I think 10 of them, and I can carry 5 of them on my horse plus 5 hats. The very first thing I did was create a new character, I waited a long time for that, and I am so glad they included it in the update. So many other things I cant even think of them all right now.1 point

So here are some things you can do to help yourself and get set up. As far as hunting goes: At first you can use your lasso and a knife, just rope a deer, or any similar size animal and then reel it in and it will give you a "kill" option, this way you get perfect pelts everytime. You dont need any bullets or guns for this, it takes a little practice but you will get it quickly. If you really want to focus on feeding Cripps materials then your best bet is dedicate a session to either hunting or collecting and hunting so you do two things at once, if you arent doing the collector too then focus on hunting. Shoot everything that moves and I mean everything, give Cripps first crack at it and sell the rest to the butcher, it adds up quickly. Cripps wont take a carcass if you skin it or a bird that you pluck so if they are for him, just stow them. Now, all you need is a Varmit rifle and Bolt action to hunt, get the fishing pole at level 14 as soon as you can, it will let you earn 75$ every 20 minutes so you can build up some cash. Now for xp and gold and cash: Do the story missions in Online, the multiplayer story missions, they pay well especially the first time you do them, and they will give you XP. Then do stranger missions, the round orange icons on the map, if you want to grind for a bit to catch up, Spawn into Saint Denis or Tumbleweed then fast travel to Colter. The reason you need to spawn into the opposite side of the map then fast travel is so when you get there, you will essentially be alone and nobody will bother you while you are grinding. Once you get to Colter head to Sadie Adlers place, get a mission, then after you do it go to Flaco nearby, for another. By then, Colter will either be a hideout for you to clear and earn a ton of XP OR there will be a lady out front asking you to rescue her sister, again, lots of xp and money. Also, Benedict point near Tumble weed gives you simple hunting missions, you can earn well on the wolf one especially as it is close by and easy to do. You need xp as much as you need cash and gold and materials for the trader. Cripps isnt going anywhere so dont over focus on that, get yourself leveled up, get your ability cards, etc.. It is going to take some grinding either way. At your level you have a lot to grind for, Ability cards, weapons, horses, ammo types, etc.. We have all done the grinding early on so, but one way or the other you will need to do it, its fun and easy now though compared to when we did it so just get into your sessions, dont waste a lot of time, get rigth to it. Also I recommend you play the story mode, it will teach you EVERYTHING and it is important, it is going to be tough with no point of reference you can do it, but it woudl be a lot easier if you played the game first. I hope this helps some, good luck. Lump1 point

Kill things, skin/pluck, stick as many feathers, furs, teeth laws etc. as you can on your horse/satchel, deliver to camp. You don’t need to bring full carcasses1 point

Well, don't torture yourself. Maybe it's time to explore another game for a while. A lot of these updates have had bug issues but luckily, they've also had hotfixes to help sort out some of them. I had two crashes last night too. If this becomes a trend, I may shelve the game again until they are addressed. ....after reporting them of course. The loss of the map on the app wasa bummer but with the changes they have made over the months, some of its usefulness was already stripped away. I'm not big on fishing but that's a good point as the app really helped given the minimap disappears during this activity. I know there were a lot of folks out there who either didn't use the app or couldn't because their device was not compatible. I'm ok with everyone being on a level playing field in this case as no advantage is given to anyone in this respect. Well, here's hoping they get the bugs / crashes addressed sooner rather than later and as always, I encourage folks to report any problems and feedback they have to R*. The more people who complain about an issue, the better our chances are of seeing it fixed. https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadonline/feedback?redirect_lang=en_us1 point

Also with the Trader, the longer delivery will message the sever that you're making a delivery and will kick you out of passive mode. While the shorter delivery won't message the server & you can stay in passive mode. With the bounties, as you rank up you will see the Rewards have more dollar signs. Novice level you will see Reward $ next tier up you will see Rewards $$ & so one. To get the max payout & xp, capture the bounty alive & walk into the sheriffs office with 30 seconds or less on the timer. Same method as for stranger missions. Some bounties you will have to capture 2 or 4 total bounties which will give you more money & xp too.1 point

I stopped playing the Breakpoint beta on Saturday. There were just too many things that irked me about the direction(s) they took this game. Haven't heard from my friend yet but he'll likely follow my lead on this one given how we tend to like the same things in games. I'll be playing the MW beta this weekend though.1 point

Sony negotiated for exclusive promotions / content with R* on this game. The items for the most part (if I'm not mistaken) eventually have / will get released to XB1 players as well.1 point
