No problem. I stopped playing a few weeks ago myself. Just waiting for animal spawn issues to be worked out, etc.2 points

Says “thank you” gift but I read that as sarcasm and more like “**** you gift” ... 😂😂😂2 points

People forget everything quickly. If Trump doesn't win, give it 2 years and they will forget everything he's done the last 4 years.2 points

You will. But....as Enoch said, just when you get a big group going, all is well and right in the world, you're having a blast. Then.......here comes a stick of dynamite right in the middle. Never fails.2 points

Yeah. It's just certain ones where you have to ride to the yellow shaded area to kick the bounty off. You simply avoid riding near that soot. Some start out right away being timed, etc. I wish I could remember which ones were the right legendaries for this. I'm sure others can help with that though as it's a fairly common work-around.1 point

So I'll log in, get the free ammo which I will leave in my camp box until the game is actually working, then log out. I will never claim the Schofield revolver, just one more thing to clog up my inventory. I already earned the Navy revolver, and not only much prefer it, but it has more meaning to me from having done the work to obtain it. I've already had the varmint rifle pretty much from the beginning, my wife paid extra for the game for me to have it available, to now be given away free. The new clothes for the most part are meh. I have had the game for over a month now, and am still low enough level to receive all the rewards, because the game has been largely unplayable for me for most of it, so I am still rank 11, the rank I was when I started having all the unresolved issues. Since I cannot stay logged in long enough to even reach my camp, what good does it do me to upgrade it? I don't have much in the way of money, as I can't work any of the trades due to the bugs, or even join a posse to help others for trades credit, so there's no money to purchase the upgrades anyway. Other than the occasional log in to bank the seemingly endless supply of "thank you" (for not assaulting our corporate headquarters with torches and pitchforks) gifts, this game is shelved. My wife even asked me the other day if we were ripped off by RS, since she hasn't seen me playing or heard me even mention the game in weeks. I am starting to feel like we have. I can be very patient, but there is no communication from RS on these issues, which is never a good sign. If this continues, I will just archive the files to clear up drive space, and it will take a heck of a lot to make me go through the trouble to re-install it. I am not expecting all the issues to be fixed within a week, but I do expect that in a case like this that has broken the game for many, that there would at least be some communication to the players as to the progress they are making in hunting down the issues, etc.1 point

Thank you level 20s for just purchasing the game and here is everything for free to catch up For all of you that have owned the game from day one should enjoy being rich, bored, and aggravated. See you next Tuesday when we polish this turd again with free vests and explosive ammo. Love R*1 point

After a certain point, money becomes irrelevant - you can obtain enough to buy anything and still have more left over.1 point

Glad to hear it. I get it.... I'm semi-retired myself so I really have no wish to spend money on monthly subscriptions I simply don't get enough value out of. ....that's why I mentioned the ~$3.75 holiday price as that may have brought it into a range you felt was worthwhile. Judging by your specific interests in the game and your wish to not interact with others online, I'd probably feel the same way about it. btw, I'm over 50 and not into twitch shooters myself but I do still enjoy playing co-op games with others and some online PvEvP games like RDO. I don't have a lot of PSN friends (by choice), but those that I do are typically older like myself. I enjoy games where I can take my time, plan things out, move tactically, etc. I feel the PSN subscription is worth it for me but I get a lot more use out of it. Hell, I was even renting a DayZ server until I cancelled it recently and I was never into that sort of thing before. I turned my DayZ buddy on to the Forest so now I'm re-exploring that game with him instead while Bohemia Interactive works on their bugs. I still play GTAO alone and with friends at times. .....although in invite-only sessions and for heists, missions, etc. I also dabble in other games including some of the freebies that come with the PS+ subscription every month. I was never big on online interaction with random players but I have made a few good friends over the years through the network. .....friends that still stick around and enjoy new games together, etc.1 point

This is true. When prepared for this challenge, it's really quite straightforward (the right type of arrow helps as you're not concerned with the quality of the pelt). It's getting attacked by a cougar when you're riding someplace else that scares you from time to time.1 point

Yes, the boat would sink there - it's like trying to row across Lake Ontario in a row-boat. The map only extends so far, so I guess the game will simply kill you if you row too far from shore. You also can't get to the far shore if you row Eastward from St Annesburg.1 point

I know there are other people out there having this issue so you aren't alone which is a good thing, this means Rockstar should be working on a fix for it.1 point

I was not referring to how OP it used to be... I was referring to when we used to have animals in the game to hunt I guess PETA made a complaint, rockstar caved, and all animals had to be removed from the game.1 point

Hi everyone & thanx for sharing your experiences & helping me chillax after yesterdays fraught day of wasted hours! So to report, today I've managed about 3 1/2 hours play after work & guess what? That's right, not ONE disconnect all the time - I was able to get back into my hunt/challenge/join mission cycle & had another blast playing! So we'll see how things go from here on Thanx again1 point

.....wrong thread. Agreed although I wish they would delve deeper in this regard including the damage and combat mechanics. ......but I guess R* games will always be more arcadey in that respect.1 point

Really not as daunting as it sounds, because there are a couple of pretty open locations where cougars spawn fairly reliably. One is the road on the west side of Mount Shann, near where the trapper can be found, and the other is on the west side of the road just north of Beecher's Hope (this one requires access to lower West Elizabeth). I did that challenge just by going to both locations where cougars spawned both times, then saved, reloaded, and went back to both locations where two more cougars spawned. I think I knocked it off in less than an hour. Honestly, I had more trouble with the challenge for killing scavenger animals feasting on corpses.1 point

Not me, 100% glad they nerfed it ... should have never had the same range and pop as a higher powered rifle.1 point

Just my two cents here but I think the mindset of internet or "online communications" changed around 2008/2009 when every day people began socializing online with little to no experience in doing so thanks to Facebook and Twitter getting popularized. This made them become adapted to a selfish mentality of things being all about them and their problems but also this strange desire to fit in so bad, they end up being complete douche bags. I have been a part of a few forums and have seen them go through the massive change of level headed people to hypersensitive cry babies, trolls, etc. basically destroying forums and them having to be rebuilt from the ground up. Sometimes they never get back to what they were and eventually just close.1 point

Good to know... If I happen to be on a server and see some bags, I will just pick them up next time. I mean if nothing is going to come from it, why not? lol1 point

I remember my dad talking about Obama and all the stuff he did in terms of bombing areas and talking over places. I couldn't believe it at the time but it did happen. Bush, I don't know enough about. I was too young at that point and really didn't pay any attention to politics.1 point

Avoiding people in real life? Isn't that what an Xbox with RDRO installed is for? 😎1 point

Ya.. thats the only logical reply. People who report them are wasting their time If i get killed for no reason from a distance or shot in the back.. I reload my rifle and revolver with express rounds and just start killing back and i really can't stop. I'll just keep killing them for hours if i can. If they are just playful trolls, then i play back. I try not to go too over board and have fun with em. For me theres a big difference between roof top snipers in town compared to someone who runs up and tries to hog tie or start a fist fight.1 point
