Most likely, one of their friends got on, so you had to go. It is just how gamers are now days. They could have just waited till it was all done or even sent you a message to give you a heads up. Been there and have had that done to me just recently. Funniest part was they all added me to their list and one of them invited me to their game over the weekend. He apologized and gave me some sad excuse about a disconnect being a Rockstar glitch. I asked if it was a Rockstar glitch, then why did his buddy that joined our chat that he was waiting for, send me a message that said and I quote, "Buh Bye!" Then his glitch kicks me from the group, where that same friend of his shoots me as soon as I respawn in.

Ever been attacked by Semi invisible players?
YodaMan 3D replied to Dissention's topic in Troubleshooting
I encountered this a lot back in Dec. Not so much any more. I have encountered players that never lose their hat, so headshots was useless against them. -
You can play without a being mic'd up. I often send a message through xbox, saying you lead and I follow. Yet I feel your pain. Sometimes I have gamed with others who just won't shut up and they are to busy talking and not focused on the game.

Being someone who is a tech wiz for a living, there shouldn't be changes till the update. Now if maintenance has not been done on the system, because the update is coming. Well, that could cause issues too. Edit: If maintenance hasn't been done. It may cause issues.

The most logical thing to do and this varies from player to player on how that is achieved. Is have fun and enjoy the game. You are right, not everyone has the game figured out, I was shown by a couple others guys, they showed me that it needs to be taken slowly. This may change in the near future, but for now it is about taking your time.

Or it could be their way of trying to make it different then GTA. As a friend stated to me, they really seem to be doing what they can to slow the game down to Old West time frame, instead of racing to the finish line. Yet the players are still finding ways to speed things up.

That is the great part of open communication between players. It should also be considered that they was doing it to grief you, cause they was bored. If players don't communicate or at least try to. Many players have reasons for doing what they are doing, no necessarily good reasons, but reasons none the less.

We understand the whole beta thing, its just after 9 years, it shouldn't require 6 months of beta. Just saying!
-
Problem is waiting it out, shouldn't be the fix. Rockstar knows of the issue and has put it low down their priority list.

This didn't work for me, but then again I seemed to of lost my horse and got stuck with the stupid scrawny nag again. I also experienced where loading screens won't ever load. Then to top it off. I haven't seen animals for days, so hunting and fishing aren't happening. So the PvP has been at an all time high, cause stranger missions wasn't working before that.

Only traps if you can call it that, was this weekend when I would join random Posses. Shortly after spawning in, I would be kicked from the Posse and they would attack immediately. A friend was telling me that his group will find a fishing hole near a populated area, they will have only 1 or 2 fish and the others will find a nearby hiding spot and kneel down and wait for anyone to come and start stuff. Then they will mow them down.

Most of the time me neither.

And let's not forget the MOST important question. How lucky are you? RNG doesn't work the same for all and part of this is pure, unadulterated RNG.

For me what works best is going slowly and selling either one item or a group and waiting for him to ring that up. If I just start mashing the sell button, I get shorted. In rl some people can't multi-task. In RDR2 to keep it real, none of their vendors can either.

Some forums you have CMs attacking the people of the forums. It can be a two-way street. Sad part is the internet can make people less civil. Now on the otherside of that, in a forum if a person ask a question. It is best to get an answer. Most forums ran by the company, those who are there for the forums either have no clue or are told to say nothing . Which ends with the same result. Now here we are pretty lucky, even though it isn't a company ran forum. @Kean_1 has a pretty good grasp and stays informed on all Rockstar news. He's pretty good and being able to filter out the facts based on Rockstar released news and rumors from left field.

Just Curious; What Level Are You & How Long Have You Been Playing?
YodaMan 3D replied to KylesDad7's topic in Red Dead Online
I would agree that rewards should be based on efficiency. Now from a different point of view. The old west and you want to slow things down, considering that many of the stranger missions require outside interference of other players, and it being a beta. Maybe they intend to add things as the game goes so players don't just race through every mission. In TD, you had players that was racing through missions in 4 minutes. It was cool to see some players had it figured out, but if that is your big plan to entertain the PvE players. Do you really want them doing missions that fast. So you start giving them incentives to take their time. Bad part is now you got people waiting 30 minutes and hunting or fishing or going to the bathroom while they wait. If PvP gets thrown in to that mix, all of sudden surviving for 30 minutes becomes a lot tougher especially with only 2 lives to spare. -
I guess one of the bigger issues I am having with this game is finding a consistent posse. Usually when on, the ones that I like to roll with aren't always on. So I use random matchmaking to meet other players. Some have been cool and others haven't. I add the cool ones to the list and just try to ignore the others. Even if my gaming schedule is generally set, others aren't and makes it tougher to meet up to play. Edit: Seeing how I do have some issues with joining clans, that usually comes with too many rules. I tend to stick with meeting players the old fashion way.

RDR2 Questions that I need the answers too!!
YodaMan 3D replied to Wainwright97's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
While playing the campaign, I felt like Jack was more Arthur's kid. Then again I got the feeling that most of the ladies was more into Arthur. That was just game design though. As for what Jack look like in RDR1, he really didn't look like John either. Yet in RDR2, mostly because I just didn't care about the appearances. Was surprised how much Arthur and John looked alike. -
So last night I decided to join a Posse and take advantage of the extra xp. Yet last night when I would join from the main menu, it would put me in a group, and almost instantly they would change from being friendly to red and they was attacking me. I tried 3 times before I said the heck with this non-sense. Never got a message stating I was removed from the Posse, no warning till I was being shot at. Was anyone else experiencing this?
-
It could be kept simpler, by simply shooting back. I really need to see it in action. Maybe it is the best way. We will have to wait and see.

As I have said in other debates, I feel a need to address griefing and though I feel some of these changes fall into line of what I had suggested. I don't want PvP options to be totally squashed in hopes to protect the PvE players. To me it is looking as if they are going to the other extreme so that PvP players will have to get creative to engage PvP. Though they will allow a PvP feud, how many drop down menus will it take before you can actually engage.

Shooting/Killing Someone then Logging Off?
YodaMan 3D replied to Renascent's topic in Red Dead Online
What I expect from Ubi is a big FU unless you are a YouTuber and then it's a little fu. They don't want to offend the YouTubers cause then they lose free advertisement. I also know from being on their forums for 3 years. They don't want out input, they don't want you to know anything about their game. What they want is for you to be happier then a puppy learning how to clean yourself, regardless of what they give you. You are just suppose to take and be joyous for being treated badly. -
Last weekend, I was running with another. As we was traveling to town to sell pelts, a hideout popped up. I kept heading to town and apparently he called out for us to attack the hideout. Now for some time it was deadly silent on my headset, until I said something. Then he was asking what happened. I didn't know he attacked the hideout, but he nearly died expecting me to have his back. I know afterwards he was pissed thinking I was ignoring him, but I didn't know he wanted to go after the hideout. Since then I have experienced this a couple of times and have discussed with others who have had the same issue. Not sure where the issue is, may be it's my headset or maybe something with the xbox or the game. When others are counting on you, you have to be paying more attention to what they are doing. Cause you never know when another player may roll up on your group and I usually depend on others to call out when in need. I can't count on that anymore.

Shooting/Killing Someone then Logging Off?
YodaMan 3D replied to Renascent's topic in Red Dead Online
If it is anything like the 1st, I think you will like it. I enjoyed the hell out of the 1st game, but lost a lot of friends that didn't like the PvP or the DZ. As for them listening to the community. No they didn't, they ignored them. Far too many requested a PvE DZ and they ignored them. As far as the an improved LZ. I guess I will see if I do the Open Beta. I am guessing it will be like WSP, lots of action and no rewards. I keep reading that the DZ is "high risk, high reward" which they used last time to lock all of the good stuff in the DZ and hose the PvE players. I guess it is a wait and see thing for me, it's just the word is that it's all the same song as before. PvP gets rewarded and PvE gets the shaft. -
I see your issue and let me clarify it. For Rockstar, when they say any error code ending in 006 is a generic error that means nothing. They meant he means nothing to them and they don't care enough to investigate it. Seriously though, most likely it is an error that they have no answer for. To them it may not be a concern if the number of times it shows up falls into their acceptable failure rate. I hope your issues get resolved though, but I am scared that it may be not as important to Rockstar.
