I skipped years of CoD mainly because of the run & gun PvP and I felt the "on rails" campaigns were dated, too short and lacked any replayability for me. .....still do. However, their focus on weapons this time with more grounded benefits / drawbacks to their accessories was a real draw to me. Their weaponsmith is great and although I wish it was a more tactical game (still too run & gun for me even with the toning down of those elements), my friends and I are having a lot of fun with it in the Hardcore modes where lethality is drastically increased, markers are essentially removed (aside from UAVs, etc.), no kill cams, etc. In either case, it should help get us by until Insurgency Sandstorm launches this August. ....sucks to have the bandwidth limit. I'm glad I don't have to worry about that.

I love those games as well. R* games tend to me more about their stories and their worlds which can be very rich in detail. They also aren't afraid to delve into the gritty or seedy side of society, etc. Many of the characters in R* games are flawed. ......some more heavily than others. However, they can also have some redeeming qualities and many times (as the player) you also feel conflicted in how you feel about these characters you play and interact with. I like that it's not so cut and dry with John Marston in RDR1, Arthur Morgan in RDR2 and Trevor, Michael & Franklin in GTAV. ....although Trevor was a really bad dude with a ton of issues, there were still moments you kind of felt sorry for him. That's just the way these games are. Similar to how I felt with Lincoln Clay in Mafia 3. He was a bad dude that did bad things but in a way you felt he was justified in doing what he was doing. In that game however, he didn't necessarily start off bad but instead ended up that way. I would never condone what he ended up becoming in real life but then again, I kind of understood him too. I'm not going to spoil anything for you but I will say that his situation isn't static. His situation and relationships do become more dynamic as the story progresses. Who knows, maybe you will even begin to like him as you experience new moments and the changes he experiences. He's still a bad guy, no doubt, but there's things I grew to like about him as the story progressed. .....not unlike some characters in western and outlaw movies. I think you will find more of these situations as the story progresses. He does have a conscience. -
They addressed that in February after Season 2 but yeah, on PS4 it's currently at about 189 GB. In my case, I purchased a 1TB Samsung Evo 860 external SSD earlier last year so I have tons of space. As it is, I have 14 of my games and 17 of my son's games loaded on my system which includes CoD:MW. Before that, I was always running into storage problems having to decide which game(s) I would delete to make way for new ones. As is it is now, I have 320GB to spare. .....but yeah, MW is massive compared to other games. The only problem I have with them personally is when I forget to download them before I want to play. The one before last was a little deceiving as it was in two parts. .....one required you to log into the game first which none of my friends or I did. The file size isn't going to make me walk away from the game though. ....at least not anymore. The PS4 was coupled with a woefully inadequate HDD. I always had problems with storage space. The ext SSD solved all that for me. I found one for $100 on sale at a local Best Buy. ....they normally go for about $150 or less. The thing is, it turned out that the SSD also performs way better than my internal HDD thanks to the 3.0 USB ports. Some rendering, loading screens, etc. are noticeably faster. I'll likely be using this SSD to compliment my PS5's internal SSD or as personal storage if not.

.....you do realize this game is about outlaws, right? I'm also guessing you never played RDR1? Personally, I really liked the story and had a lot of fun with the campaign overall but this game isn't for everyone. Also, the game gives you a level of choice in just how bad you are but it's still a story based on certain events that had happened in his life. He's not an angel but then again, some of the people including the lawmen (Pinkertons) aren't either which makes some of these encounters not so clear cut in that regard. You may just have to face the fact that the game just isn't your cup of tea. -
Well, sorry to see you're not enjoying it anymore. My friends and I are still having fun with it. I've actually been leveling up other weapons once I complete them and at times I'm just using my favorite load out. To me, the enjoyment comes not from the grind but the gameplay with friends. I never used the prestige in past CoD titles and to be honest, this was the first CoD title I have bought in many years. Plenty of folks still playing either way so I don't know what's going to happen when the next title releases. It may not be as well received as this one but I guess we'll have to see. From what I understand its not in their plans that the main game continue on for years like other GaaS models ( think GTAVO, R6S, etc.). They are still currently planning to keep releasing CoD titles as they have. .....just like BF does. However, Warzone appears to be the one element that may remain throughout moving forward from what I'm hearing. For me, the changes they made to this iteration of the series has been the best ideas they have had in a very long time.

Personally, I paid full price and felt the campaign (single player portion) was worth the price alone given the scope, the length, etc. It was a full game in itself. I had been playing since the beta and I also got a lot of play out of the online portion of the game. ....well worth the $60 IMO. I know some have been experiencing issues and that's no excuse for R* not addressing them in a more timely manner but overall, I'd buy it again. btw, I'm going to move this topic to online as it really doesn't have anything to do with trying to troubleshoot a specific issue but is more of just an opinion piece.

Days Gone is one I'm playing now. Bought it on sale. Even with some of the little glitches that still exist, it's a decent game especially at the the price I got it for. I'm kind of over the whole zombie thing and I'm finding the gunplay a bit janky. Also not a fan of some of the missions that require you to sneak through what are essentially staged paths at times. I'm just really getting into it though so we'll see.

Yeah, I saw the trailer and even had a PS friend mention it to our group. I like simulators, hardcore survival games, milsims, etc. so I can appreciate some games like these that require more patience, etc. ......but this one looks like one of those games I would likely play a few sessions and then move on. My only hope for longevity would have been in the coop as some experiences are best shared IMO, but even that sounds like its a bust.

Well, since I created this thread I have been able to team up with friends of friends and powered through several of these missions. While I agree with the enemy spawns which can happen in areas behind you that were just cleared, etc., some aspects to some of the missions were actually quite fun. It's those situations at certain points that are not but even then, with a group of friends that can work together, I still found enjoyment from it. Either way, we are all having much more fun in Hardcore PvP Kill Confirmed and TD. Still can't wait for Sandstorm though to really scratch that tactical shooter itch.

There's absolutely no need for disrespectful remarks like this. Disagreements are fine but let's be civil in how we respond to other community members.

It's there in the RDR2 forum where you originally posted it. It will remain there for 30 days.

This is the PC forum which specializes in issues specifically related to PC hardware, issues, etc.
-
Yeah, that was one of my favorites in the game for it's effectiveness. The repeaters we're still my go-to though.
-
Welcome to the forums... I don't have an answer for you but given this is PC specific I moved this to that forum in hopes you might get a more targeted answer.

Nice. Does the case come with the power supply or are you going to use one you already have? What MB are you going with? I've been out of the loop so long especially since i retired that I'd have to start from scratch with my research if I built one today.

I know folks buy laptops that meet the minimum specs and even exceed that of games they try to run on them. I also know some laptops can run games that work fine. .....but what I've noticed over the years is that it seems more people encounter problems trying to run games on laptops than they do on home built PCs for instance that are put together with more standardized components that are known to perform reliably vs. integrated GPUs on a proprietary MB, on-board sound, associated drivers, etc. ......but who knows. Laptops themselves are commonly produced within the same ODMs (e.g. Inventec, Quanta, Compal, etc.) sometimes an OTS solution without other design requirements other than to put their customers name on the product. I only use laptops these days but only for home business, etc. (not gaming). I used to build gaming rigs for that and when I stopped, I switched to PS. Good luck on your build Vendetta. I kinda miss those days sometimes.

That bounty trick worked for any platform but yeah, PC is definitely different in respect to other options like mods and such.
-
.....there are ways people have used to force themselves into a session by themselves like accepting some bounty Hunter missions and then avoiding the highlighted area that activates the task. The stores are all open but you won't be able to do everything you would in a public session like perform other roles, missions, etc. Its fine though if you want to hunt, gather, etc.

Sharpshooter challenge on PC Keyboard - Q doesn't work
Kean_1 replied to PuerAzaelis's topic in Red Dead Online
Thanks for replying back with the resolution @PuerAzaelis. I'll go ahead and move this to the PC forums as well since it's more am issue specific to that platform and could help someone else in the same boat. -
They don't want to for RDO but they also didn't rule it out. They said they could and perhaps would at some point but have always said it's not in their plans. Maybe that will change now that PC is on board
