That's how these call centers and first tier operators work, using scripts. In some cases, you might get someone who has a little more personal knowledge than the next but even then, some companies demand they stick to the scripts. Before the PC release, you could get your case escalated pretty easily IME and even these front line folks seemed a little more knowledgeable at times. After the PC release, they even started sending messages that your case is closed but they will investigate. They didn't even bother trying to address some issues. Now, I don't know if that's due to the contractor they are using, the fact that they were overwhelmed by the PC release or perhaps some combination of problems. .....but it was annoying to say the least. I haven't tried Support in a while but a couple responses I saw from people saying they were helped recently might indicate a change. .....I don't know. But if nobody says anything........

....but calling for help isn't going to stop ambushing. I dunno... I just don't see this plan fitting into R*'s vision for RDO. It would be a step back in my honest opinion. I wouldn't want it personally, but as I said earlier, I do like the idea of more activities like bank robberies, etc. IMO, the way to mitigate griefing is by removing opportunities, not adding them. You also add activities that can attract those players. What the game needs is more content to allow outlaws to be outlaws. .....heists, robberies of stores, banks, trains, etc. .....the stuff I mentioned earlier. That's my take on it at least.
-
....not even in the same league as GTAO IMO for several reasons in this regard but yeah, if you're just comparing to solo and/or invite only, of course. The thing is, you can't do a significant amount of activities while in solo or invite-only in GTAO.

I think we need to clarify what exactly are you looking for. Are you asking how to create a posse in Red Dead Online (within the game) to get friends or randoms to join you or recruit for a group here in these forums? If you can answer that, we would be able to better help you. I thought you were asking about the former but after Buc's response, I'm beginning to wonder it it might be the latter.

Personally? While some may relish the thought of more open PvP conflict in Free Roam, I'll wager there will be a significant amount of folks who don't. Adding more activities in the game world is one thing but forcing conflict on players like this is another. .....and even with the protections in place, griefers will find ways to grief. They will also use this as an "open season" of sorts on all players. .....especially those who run solo, with smaller groups and/or have disadvantages as lower level players. I could also envision more reasons for them to spawn camp near mission exits, butcher shops, Dr's offices, Sheriff offices, etc. .....anywhere folks are getting paid and they can ambush. Sorry..... I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer but I just don't see this as a way that will help mitigate griefing and in fact, it would make it worse IMO. However, I do like the idea of bank robberies and other activities that can scratch that itch for those wanting to play the bad guy or even the good guy. I also think bounties need to carry more weight for those that indiscriminately kill or shoot at other players unprovoked. I also think "good" players should be able to play a bigger role in hunting those people as well. ....more incentives. The robbery angle should also be lucrative for outlaws with bigger risks paying higher rewards. I wouldn't doubt that they are already looking into activities like these though as "heists". Train robberies, store robberies, petty theft, bank robberies, stage robberies, gold transports, etc. To me, that is where outlaws will come into their own and perhaps even those seeking to be lawmen. If it pays to be bad, this may be the diversion some griefers need. ....or more importantly, what the rest of us need.

He's on PC I'm assuming since he's talking about the R* launcher.

Hi @XvitariX and welcome to the site.

Hi Sadie and welcome. I'll go ahead and move this to the Recruitment sub forum for you. Good luck.

That is not a dead end. That link @Parzival provided was the official R* Feedback and Support page. If you're looking for a refund for your purchase, you can certainly try with SIE, but I'm surprised they didn't send you back to R* for this. ......either way, the link provided is not a "dead end" as I checked it myself as well.

Hi @SLAY3RWG and welcome.

Hi Cap'n and welcome to the forums. Just to clarify, RDR2.org is a fan site not affiliated with R* or Take Two. When you said "You", I wasn't sure if you realized that. Either way, that is what these forums are for to help provide a platform for RDR2 fans to suggest and share ideas, help fellow community members or to seek help, etc. If however (for good measure) you want to plant a bug directly in R*'s ear, you can also submit some of what you share with your fellow members here over on R*'s Feedback site. Now, you won't get a response but think of it more as a suggestion box of sorts that R* monitors: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadonline/feedback?redirect_lang=en_us Again, welcome and we hope you make RDR2.org your go-to source. I think you'll find the community here quite refreshing.

The OP was a completionist who didn't like the story missions but was so determined to get better medals he would keep replaying the same missions. That would drive me crazy and I happened to like the game. ......and I said it back in 2018 and I'll say it again but IMO / IME the main missions really are a just a way to help progress through the story. Where these games really come into their own is all that you can do in between them. .......and that is where I spent many hours of my time. I really didn't mind the linearity of the story missions. Now, that's not to say I like games on rails necessarily (with a few exceptions), but these are way more than that. I'm not saying I don't have gripes about some things with R* games but their stories are not one of them. That is something they really do well at IMO. Obviously, if these games were really as bad as folks like the OP made them out to be, they wouldn't sell as well as they do. If it's not your cup of tea then it's not your cup of tea. Doesn't mean someone lacks coordination or skills in real life because they don't agree with someones take on certain aspects of it. ......it's just a game and folks will either enjoy it or they won't.

@JGrabek, I added your other thread to this one since it is essentially the same problem.

On the PS4 I know you can use the L3 button to help calm your horse while riding and it helps restore stamina. I don't ever participate in the horse races so I really don't know how it differs in this regard or which breed would be better for such things.

Has 'press charges' changed or has it always been like this?
Kean_1 replied to SimonTemplar's topic in Red Dead Online
I mentioned it earlier in the thread with the full description of how all this is supposed to work but here's the bit about that specifically: Press Charges: When a lower Hostility player is killed without retaliating they will have an option to “Press Charges” during the respawn period, which will enforce an increase on their attacker’s Hostility and Bounty value. Press Charges is not available if you are a high Hostility player or marked as an enemy to the player who killed you. -
.....you mean R3, right?
-
Hi Budark and welcome to the forums. I'm going to move your thread to the PC section of Online to see if you can get some answers. I know you say your setup is not the problem but it may help others help you if you post you specs anyway. I would also advise browsing through some of those threads to see if there may be a solution to your problem in what someone else may have shared previously. Sorry I personally have no answers for you.
-
I thought it was R3 that activates it when aiming down sight with L2?
-
I don't play very often at all these days mainly because I'm just waiting for more content. ......but R* isn't removing the Roles from individual accounts for inactivity. I still see my stuff when I log in and you're on more frequently than I am. In your case I would say it's just the same bug others in your situation are experiencing like the camps, etc. RDO is the same like GTAO where businesses and everything else should still be there even if you're gone for a while.
-
Not exactly what you're asking here to be honest. Are you inquiring if someone else can run your posse in your absence while you're offline, doing other tasks, etc? If it's your permanent posse, I believe you need to be online and in the same session for people to join your posse. As for others adding waypoints in your group, I can't recall if another player in the group aside from the leader can create one that everyone else can see.
-
Yeah, you really need to do manual saves at key points in the game or prior to potentially dangerous situations, etc.

Hi Phadez and welcome to the forums. Just note that as long as this thread isn't leading into promoting your website and YT channel, we're all good and you're more than welcome here.
