I would follow @Dissention's advice here. Assume it may be something you're overlooking or perhaps need to do in order to jar things loose so to speak. As mentioned, are you cycling through your weapons while near or on the horse? If you look again through the catalogue, does it show that you've already purchased the pump shotgun?

Their support has been stretched since the PC release. As for outsourcing, it has always been thought that their first tier support is likely handled by a CS partner rather than R* themselves. Support that seemed to use scripts and canned responses. Escalations were different however. What changed are the lead times to responses, quality of support and now it seems having your case escalated is more difficult or impossible. I guess could be that they switched vendors or simply were stretched too thin and never made the necessary changes to help restore the level of service they once had. The thing is, none of us know for sure.

If I'm not mistaken, firearms appear immediately in your inventory. Check your weapon wheel.

On console there is an in-game reporting feature you can use and then there is Customer Support where there are options as well to report people like that. I'm guessing you're on PC?

Yeah, I don't really Tweet or anything like that but I keep an account for most of my gaming news. Seems these companies use Twitter as one of their first means of distributing information so I tap into that.

Subscribe to their Twitter feed and/or the Online forum here as I or someone else will likely post a thread when there is any news like this.

Yeah, if someone is really not happy with the game they don't need to keep playing it. Personally, I'm pretty indifferent about the whole thing. I still enjoy the game from time to time especially now that I don't have the animal spawn issue. Most things work for me. Content is my main issue so once the new stuff drops, I'll probably be spending more time with it. ....at least for a while.

Sounds like they are looking into compensating you for the money / reward you lost on the challenge. It's no secret that they are using outsourced companies for their frontline CS so their wording could either be from their script, sound like broken English, etc. It's unfortunate their service went downhill after the PC release. I simply stopped reporting my problems at that point and send things through their Feedback site.
