Agreed.... With all the different factions, locations, the character development and all the backstories (e.g. the virus, the factions, the Division, the government collapse, other government agencies like hte JTF and CERA, etc.). I think they could do a lot with it in all the directions they could go with the storie(s) which is why I think it would be a better series than a movie. I'd be hooked.

I agree with Parzival. I just don't see anything truly unique with RDR in regard to this particular film genre. Just feels diluted IMO. Another western. ....in games however, it's a whole different story. It's funny..... The other day I thought about how the Division would make for a really cool film or perhaps even better better, a series. I'm sure folks think the same about RDR.

Never paid much attention to doom & gloom predictions about most games as they usually turn out to be wrong. Heard a lot of the same stuff about GTAO when it was struggling initially. They lost a lot of folks in the beginning but then gained some back and much more after they started refining, adding content, etc. I already knew folks would be turned off by the fact that they were going to release RDO as a beta while they developed the game. While I'll admit that I thought they would be further along by now, that was purely an assumption on my part. I also expected that this would be a long process and R* has been very up front about that. Personally, I know some are miffed by the actions R* has taking to help mitigate griefing but I like the direction they are going with that and I know that there is much more to come. Spring is almost over which means the Spring Update could be arriving any time. .....likely along with more news, more on the roadmap, etc. I guess the way I deal with it is different than some others. With betas, I prefer a wait and see approach. If I get bored, I will simply will take a break as I have been for the past month. I play other games but keep up to date on what's going on so I can revisit when an update hits that appeals to me. If things don't pan out the way I like, then I simply delete the game and move on. Only time will tell.

The whole "griefer" term is subjective but once explained what it means to an individual, it's really moot point because then it's just a label they use to describe those they feel are ruining their fun. Either way, even R* essentially makes the correlation between griefers and those that indiscriminately kill. To me, anyone who willingly seeks out and kills another player without provocation is griefing to some extent. Engagements through missions, player assassinations and the like are a totally different story IMO as they are sanctioned events that carry no penalties. Those I wouldn't call griefers as they are basically invited to try and kill, stop or steal from the player(s) performing the mission. Those joining these types of missions should understand and expect that. You don't join a PvP event and expect that people won't try to kill you.

Yeah, can't say I've ever heard of that maker either before now. Sounds like it would fit the bill though. I would still like a 12ga and figured I would settle on an 870 Express, Winchester Defender or the Mossberg 590(?). There are others too I'm sure that I would start mulling over if I started doing to the research when/if I decide to buy. Need a bigger safe and a better location for it before I do that though.

Well, you can't blame a game for a subscription that Sony requires you to have to play online.

What monthly fee? Are you talking about PSN or XB Live? You need to pay that subscription for any game you want to play online.

It's in the Free Roam menu. There is a camp option within it. On PS4 the Free Roam menu is accessible with the left D-Pad button IIRC. If you're solo or in a temp posse, you only have access to small camps. Persistent posses have access to large camps.

Guess I'm missing it. I didn't see anything in the new promo / mission news that says they removed anything.

IIRC, the wagon will despawn if you leave it. IMO, don;t worry about it. You can always get another one when the times comes.

Hi Restoy and welcome to the forums. RDR2 isn't even released for PC yet and we are not even sure it will be. .....as the old saying goes, don't count your chickens before they hatch. Having said that, I'd say it's a good bet that if RDR2 comes to PC that there will be people wanting to RP and folks who will be determined to set it up. Heck, even on console there are those who have RP groups.

Take a break like I did. .....or move on to another game which I've done as well for the meantime. I think it's obvious we won't see anything meaningful until the Spring Update comes out which can be anytime between now and June. ......although unsubstantiated rumors may point to a May release date.

I'd give the community a little more credit. None of the posts I have seen have changed my mind about the game and I'm sure most others can also make up their own minds. I get that it's a beta and I'm willing to ride it out. .....but I can also respect that others are put off by the fact that updates and changes are slow coming. Even I shelved the game for the last month or so because of it. I guess it just doesn't bother me like it does some others. Sharing ones disatisfaction isn't toxic or any opinion for that matter. ....it's all in how you do it. As long as folks still show respect for one another, I see no problem with them expressing their concerns, frustration, hopes, expectations, etc.

I honestly have no expectations for the game. I'll really need to see some more in-game footage to see how the mechanics work, freedom of movement in the game world, etc.

I read what you said but I simply didn't agree. No need to lash out or get angry about other people expressing their own opinions pluck. .....especially when it's done with civility. As I said before, that's what the purpose of the forum is after all. ....discussion.
