  1. Someone in another thread is having the same problem - apparently some countries don't allow the online gambling to be implemented.
  2. 100% Even if you could 'sell' them for $0 like saddles and horses, I would clear out a few things without hesitation. Carbine repeater anyone? going cheap!
  3. That does suck. If there was any suggestion it was real currency, the UK wouldn't allow it either (without R* jumping through some really significant online gaming rules, at least). What country are you in, if you don't mind me asking?
  4. I'm not trying to start an argument, but yes, it does matter. There's a fundamental difference between playing a high stakes and low stakes game. $25 buy in, 20c ante, $5 hand limit is low stakes. You can never lose more than $5 on a single hand. Then, if you make it 'no limits' betting, it doesn't work because the risk is still capped by the low buy-in, and if you significantly increase the ante (say to $5) you burn through your buy in in no time at all. In the sort of game that is there at the moment it's impossible to replicate the game experience that Arthur has in the story mode. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying all of the poker should be high stake, no limit, but I think it would be cool if one of them was, and St Denis is the place. Likewise, taking account of the sort of views expressed by Kean, maybe there should be a cheaper (say $5 buy in, 5c ante) game at one of the smaller towns, so that people can participate for the fun of the game without feeling like they are risking a significant chunk of their hard earned $$$s
  5. They come and go, for me. Irrespective of whether I launch into free roam or land of opportunities from the start menu, the map icon for the next/first mission may or may not be there. I haven't done it yet - logged on last night for that specific purpose, no icon.
  6. But they could make the St Denis game $100 buy in and no limit, for example.
  7. Only tried Valentine so far. $25 buy in, $5 max hand bet. I think I heard it's same everywhere, but it would be cool if there was a high stakes game in St Denis.
  8. When you fundamentally disagree with the people' who designed, sold and have 100% control over the current and future development of the game, in relation to a crucial feature of the gameplay, it isn't so obvious that the game is for you.
  9. It's my understanding that honour and blip colour aren't directly related. Blip colour is part of the hostility system, and is relatively short term, not part of the honour system. Whilst indiscriminate murder affects both hostility and honour ratings, it has a much larger and quicker effect on hostility than honour. This means that you can easily be high honour but red blip or, conversely, blue blip dishonourable.
  10. I think you need to accept sooner or later that this isn't the game you want it to be.
  11. I used to be a cowboy. Now I'm a poker player in a cowboy hat.
  12. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! 😲 I need to get home and get playing!
  13. Best purchase is definitely my Nokota (the dapple silver with the black face). Grinded solid for her, and got to the level (58?) before I had the gold - (18 GB purchase price, no $ equivalent). I was exactly 1 bar short, and so desperate that I bought gold in the shop rather than wait another 2-3 days to gather the nuggets. I've barely ridden another horse since. there's nothing else I've bought that I can say I use every time I play, and makes a real difference.
  14. Interesting. I could never see any visual change in whether I was under or overweight, and wondered whether the effect was just really subtle. It never occurred to me that they just wouldn't let girl characters get fat. I wonder what weird R* logic was at play there....
  15. I think its the other way around - the stranger missions you accept affect your honour, rather than your honour affecting what stranger missions you can take. E.g. I am max honour, but Joe, or the old lady, or Langton will still send me off to do murdering and kidnapping quite happily - it just gives me a little bit of the 'red hat'.
  16. People play baseball sims ??!! 😱 Each to their own, I suppose.
  17. I amazed people with my coolness when I first discovered the 'twirl re-holster' 😜 We were easily pleased back in December!
  18. I don't think so, although I think it should be, like story mode. I would go so far as to wish for certain 'respectable' establishments to refuse to serve low honour people at all, and require them to use stores and post offices in particular 'disreputable' locations. That might also provide more incentive for the black hats and white hats to group together. Say, for example, below a certain reputation the general store, gunsmith and post office in Valentine won't serve you and you need to go elsewhere to buy your ammo. Rhodes will serve you, but at an inflated price, and Strawberry folk don't care whether you just killed their mothers. It would all add to a more 'alive' feeling world, with minimum coding difficulty.
  19. Just checking - can you put new stirrups on the special saddles, or do you have to keep the ones it comes with?
  20. I spent about 2 months just thinking that the "75%" was a bug (the game was in beta then, after all 😜), until I found out about the low honour missions.
  21. Yes, I suspect that this is what the OP is talking about. I've never tried it, but am I right in thinking that paint it black also works against SB?
  22. This is the problem. I know a lot of people (myself included) who, just like CosmoKramer, it sounds like, run those two cards specifically to give a chance against the 'random headshotter' (to avoid the term 'griefer'). In fact, the only passive protection you have against those players is Never Without One. Bad people (AKA A$$hats) use the card because it is, all ways up, the most powerful card in the game. I really don't think it's sustainable to argue that NWO use = A$$hat player, unless you're arguing that everyone's an A$$hat. Maybe your actions are self fulfilling? If someone randomly headshots me, and knocks my hat off, I will then go after them until they're dead (usually several times, to make a point). So, we have the following scenario: - I ride somewhere in your vicinity with my usual card loadout. - you see S&S and NWO, and despite me making no hostile move, you decide I must be an A$$hat, and shoot me. - I take exception to being attacked in a random and unprovoked fashion, and come after you, guns blazing. - You feel justified in shooting me, because I'm obviously an A$$hat, you just managed to get your retaliation in first. - I feel justified in returning fire, and in using NWO, because it protects me from (apparent) A$$hats like you who will randomly headshot me while I'm minding my own business. That's no way to live.
  23. There are a few awards that you can't reset, and that's one of them. It does seem out of place, though. Most of the non-resettable ones feel more like 'one off's' - e.g. ride from Valentine to Strawberry in 3.30 minutes, (or whatever) kill 6 enemies with a revolver without reloading, kill 100 different types of animal - whereas the 100 victories is something you could easily loop - I have over 200 by now (about 650 showdowns and a 33% win rate).
  24. I noticed the weird ammo thing too. However, I think there are 2 things going on: 1. The crazy numbers on the weapon wheel - some kind of glitch? 2. Pistols and rifles have actual ammo carrying capacity upped to 200 (from 100) to match repeaters and revolvers. Maybe number 2 is a glitch, as well, especially as it hasn't been announced as a change. Like CosmoKramer suggests above, I would definitely have paid in-game $$ for that upgrade.
