I think, not sure but I think, the point of dragging it out was the longer it takes you the more players can interact with you and stop you, rushing it makes it so you have little chance of other players stopping you, whereas taking the full 14 minutes can lead to players messing with you to stop you. I think anyway.
-
Actually they changed that, you no longer need to drag them out, in fact I think I just heard if you do you get less now, so I have been just doing them reg speed and not worrying about it and it is pretty lucrative especially with the gold multiplier for daily challenges, I am on day 12 of consecutive days of doing them and it is adding up quickly, I do 3 stranger missions and 2 story missions, a few random encounters and I have 6 gold, it seems to be coming in pretty steadily right now.

Well think about it, new players cant get much because it is locked up behind xp, so all the money in the world wont help, and you need gold for stuff too, cash is good sure, but it isnt the end all be all, nobody has a huge advantage because they have a lot of cash, unless they are high level and if they are high level they probably already have everything. Ability cards, need xp, horses, guns, even some clothes, so I wouldnt let it bother you that much, It isnt going to put you at a disadvantage in anyway all it really does is save some people a little time since they dont need to grind it out, but again, lol if they are over level 75 they have already been grinding so the $$ probably isnt life changing. I was able to grind it all out and by the time these glitches came out I realized I dont need any $$ not an amount I would bother to do one of these glitches to get it. If it were XP or Gold then yeah I would say that is bad for everyone and the game, but even R* isnt to worried about the cash, owning every outfit or horse isnt an advantage, and if they own every horse, they had to reach a certain xp to get them. Just my opinion of course, I just hate to see anyone stressed out over the game, you cant change people and glitches will ALWAYS be present, these guys put out new glitches daily, so unless R* decides to do something about it, no point in stressing over it.

We have 72 members, we do missions together, we defend groups against toxic groups, racism, bullying, griefing, etc.. We try to recruit level 35 and above but we do make exceptions for very active players who are lower level but spend a lot of time playing and leveling up, we will help them level up and get them going. If interested in being considered hit me up on here, send me a pm, Ill send you an invite in game and we can set you up with a uniform and go over what the groups plans are and our discord channel, etc..

That happens to me in stranger missions sometimes, and once starting a small showdown series. I think after each update we get some glitches and some bugs, but as long as people continue to use the feedback and bug report form we will see the bugs get ironed out over time. This game is growing and ever evolving, and this is the very beginning of that evolution. Hopefully over the next few weeks things will get smoothed out,

Nice!! I see lots of people with tons of gold, I dunno I spend it as it comes in, lol I am already in my head spending it on stupid cosmetic upgrades so I have the next 15 bars pre spent, as soon as I get 5 I go to the shop, so I am def a little jealous of your stock pile.

Tell me about it, I bought dual Mausers for $1200 then modified them so even more I used them twice, the bought the Lamats, lol so yeah lots of ways to rip through thousands of dollars, But I want to try them all so....

WoW thats awesome man, and holy smokes you have a lot of cash and gold, well done!!

LOL, I know I am way too wordy, and it often cracks me up because most people simply wont read it, they just dont have the patience, so I have been trying to shorten posts when I think of it, I dont like to be so wordy, but often I feel when I read it back that it comes out as if I were speaking and if I were this is what I would say, but I knew I had covered this already, I only wanted to short summary for new players who seem to be joining everyday so they might read it and learn something.

Well thats your opinion and you are entitled to it, I dont have to agree, I think more players agree with me than you and Rockstar obviously agreed as they made severe changes to the game just for this reason, but that doesnt mean I am right or you are wrong, many people will have many different expectations, and ways to play the game. BUT if someones way of playing ruins someone else's game then maybe they should re-think their play style because although you dont agree, my game style will never interupt what you want to do in game I respect others and I treat people the way I want to be treated. This is way more than "just a game" it is a new style of game, and it can be really great for those of us who appreciate the attention to detail Rockstar added into the game to make it immersive and realistic. If a player isnt hearing anyone on the mic, thats fine, you dont have to hear me to not shoot me, lol shoot your friends, shoot others who want to engage with you, but leave players minding their own business alone, you will never be right with any excuse you can make for causing others to have a negative experience, it is not good for anyone and there is no excuse for it there is no benefit for you to kill innocent people and now the way the game is it will cost you, and the person you attack will have the advantage. Do anything you want as long as it doesnt effect others, simply put there are many ways to shoot your guns in this game so you dont need to go out of your way to shoot at people just because they pass by, that seems to me like if a player does that maybe their bored, and then I ask how can that be? there are stranger missions, story missions, encounters, achievements, daily challenges, pvp modes horse races, fishing competitions, etc.. I mean seriously you can do a dozen other things that actually pay you in xp, gold, and cash, whereas shooting a person who is trying to get to a butcher gives you nothing but a bounty and an aggravated player who was trying to do what HE wanted until you came along. The people who enjoy causing that aggravation and do it only for that reason are griefers and unwanted in the game by all, even those who like to mix it up, I dont mind a gun fight, or a fist fight, but I dont like being shot in the back when I am not looking or ready and doing something like skinning an animal or fishing You suggesting who should and shouldnt play this game is ridiculous, just play the game and have fun, dont worry about philosophy and strategy and what everyone else should be doing. If you enjoy bothering people then so be it, the game is set up against that type of player these days and people are pretty well set up to defend themselves against it, it will cost you money to do it now, while the person you kill looses nothing but a few minutes so, whatever man.

Have you noticed larger treasures?
lumper replied to Major Dammidge's question in Questions & Answers
The level 100 treasure map I got had 1.5 gold bars, plus cash in it, so yeah the multiplier is adding up, also the daily challenges if you do them everyday that adds up too, each day when I log in I get anywhere from 1 to 6 gold bars, today was 6, lately the gold is pouring in. I only spend gold on metal upgrades to my guns so it doesnt much matter whenever I get 5 I go to the gunsmith. The only things I ever used gold for otherwise was a fishing pole and the bolero hat and one other piece of clothing I needed for a uniform, but now it is just for gun upgrades. -
Thank you, and WoW you have a ton of gold and cash, I am broke, under $400 and I was just gifted 6 gold bars so.. I have 6 lol. Very impressive man, and thanks for helping me make it til the end.

On March 7th I started, on the 12th I was level 7, today after 2.5 months or about 10 weeks I did it!! Actually I averaged 10 levels a week for 10 weeks. If you are new and just getting started here are my tips to you. Get a fishing pole as early as you can, for cash only, for xp you need to either hunt, run story missions over again, do stranger missions, clear hideouts, do random encounters, etc.. Now things are much better for new players compared to 10 weeks ago. The day I started, I had no clue what to expect, I spawned in near Valentine, set up a camp, went to it, 3 players saw me and followed me to my camp and started messing with me, they tried to lead my horse away, etc.. later I found out they just did that to see what I would do because they were bored, and this was fun to them, to intimidate new players, that should have told me how it was going to be. For about 8 weeks it was brutal, you literally had to hide and hunt/fish to get any level grinding done, or do things like spawn in New Austin then fast travel to Rhodes to do things and not have a whole bunch of red dots just killing anything that moved in each town center making going to the butcher a real problem, I remember in Strawbery some guy hiding on the cliff over looking the butcher and just taking pot shots at anyone who came in to his view, just because. For a time there were players who woudl purposely crash into you then shoot you for it, etc.. yeah, it was something. So it was hard, but if you want to do well in this game you have to level up to open up better weapons, ammo, horses, camp upgrades, etc.. and you cant do that if you are fighting griefers all day. My strategy was to ignore them, if they killed me parlay and get back to what I was doing, and there were many bad days. But if you are just starting you have it so much easier than we did 2 months ago, so just level up, the faster you do it the faster you can really enjoy the game. Im now at a point where I have everything I want and need, as I make gold I will buy one more thing then clean up my weapons, otherwise I am done and it is time to play. My advice is work toward a goal each time you come in so you have a plan and then stick to the plan. The new system makes it very easy to avoid people, you will still find a random back shooting excuse making coward out there, (im doing daily challenges relax dude) lol yeah ok, but otherwise if you go into passive mode and just grind your levels, you will have no problem at all. I bought every weapon except the semi auto pistols and the carcano, but I have everything else, and all ammo types, all pamphlets except for bait and a few horse stimulants, I put in 19 days and 14 hours I think it said when I looked earlier, I think around 500 hours of game play in 2.5 months, to complete the 100 levels. Good luck, enjoy the grind, once it is over you will be thankful you did it and you will have earned everything you have in game and be able to focus on pvp and other pve modes.

I caught over 5000 fish and never noticed any XP, so I only fished when I needed cash in a hurry, otherwise I had to hunt, and do missions for xp. I didnt think we got any Xp at all for fishing, at least I never noticed any.

So I just would like to know how to save 4 or 5 outfits to my horse and wardrobe. My wardrobe page says 4 of 5 saved on your horse, or 3 of 5 saved to your horse, etc.. But I cant seem to save even 4, I can get 4 on my horse but the 4th isnt saved so if I change to another then leave and come back it is gone. I want to be able to save 4 outfits so they are always there. How do I save 4 outfits to my horse? Thanks for any help.

Hmm, I have seen the opposite, I dont even see another player unless I go to areas that I know there are always people like Valentine, Blackwater, St Denis, otherwise I have played for hours and never saw another player, several times since the update, my experience has been the opposite of griefing, I love it. Maybe it is your play style or where you are going, also, spawn in to the game opposite of where you plan to play, so if you want to be in the Bayou, spawn in New Austin, then fast travel or ride there, and usually you will find your self alone, occasionally I will see others here or there but very few and I havent been griefed since the update. Im sorry to hear you are having this much trouble, I can sympathize, but I would try another strategy to help avoid players when possible, when you cant, then arm up, have yourself ready and be aware of people, often they are opportunistic players who if they see your ready and armed and see them they usually will leave you alone, they like to sneak up on you or catch you doing something where you are distracted.

Hmm I was using the Carbine, lol then realized I needed an upgrade, I bought the lancaster and have been sticking with it, it's great for pvp or pve I love clearing hide outs with it, I never tried the Litchfield or the Evans, maybe in the future when I have $$ to burn, for now I am set with the Lancaster though.

Difference between Free Roam vs Land of Opportunities
lumper replied to Rick's topic in Red Dead Online
I am assuming you tried to continue the story and were dumped in free roam? The obvious difference is free roam vs Land of Opportunities is in free roam in the world you are doing whatever you want, the Land of opportunities missions are the story missions you need to complete. You may need to change your honor level to see the remainder of the story missions, so if you are a low honor player then you need to raise it, and the opposite is true, so if this is what you are referring to, then you should be able to adjust your honor either with gold bars or buy earning your honor up or down, then the story missions will continue for you. If this isnt what you mean then I apologize. -
Yeah the saddle upgrade is around the corner, and after I get it I am going to shift, I will still be leveling up and probably faster than previoulsy for the gold bars too, but my focus wont be on daily grinding and hunting, it will be more about just playing and experiencing the actual game now. I was really bummed to see my favorite saddle and the one I use in Single player was locked up behind gold and a lot I forget I think 18 gold bars? Thats nuts!!! But, sigh... ok when I get the gold, I will buy it, But I refuse to grind for it, when it happens it happens, my current saddle set up is pretty good and to be honest my horse's bars are 95% full, and his attributes bars are full completely so I dont see any significant change to my horses performance however the drain rates are a little better and more aggressive, with the upgraded saddle, so yeah I will get it, but it is not a priority to me at this point. I dont know why they dont show up in the rank unlock level screen either, I wish they had, but ok. I hit level 94 last night, got my pamphlet finally from 93 I needed $850 and had to start from 2.22$ because I had just bought dual Lamat's and a host of other upgrades all in a row, I think Ive spent over $10,000.00 in recent days, it is so rewarding to hit that rank, grind that cash, make the purchase, etc.. But then it leaves me empty for a minute thinking, ok, now what? l I have zero dollars and the idea of starting over for a cash grind isnt even in the cards, lol. I plan to do the stranger, and story missions, and pvp mode from this point forward, stopping to hunt for the ingredients I need for snake oil, and various types of incendiary or exploding ammo types, ie: animal fat, moonshine, feathers, etc.. I have literally had dreams of this day and now it is here, the only thing that detoured me was new items I hadnt anticipated like the Lamat, I havent even looked at an Evans repeater for example, so.. who knows my eye may catch something I want, and if so I know how to grind for cash, but otherwise, for now on, whatever I get I get it is all about the game and story now, not building my character anymore he is done.

No worries, I understand when wanting to ask a Question, Kean does an amazing job with these boards and his best to keep them clean yet relevant, I appreciate the consideration, Thanks.

I hit level 93 this morning, currently grinding for the $950 I need for Dynamite Arrows, mmmmmm tasty. Only 7 left to go, then I can upgrade my saddle one last time, and forget about ever grinding for a level again, I will shift to just playing the game. Updating this so later IO can look back at the date when I hit level 55 and remember when I was 38 and R* put out that promotion where you could get things at level 60 for 4 days if you were there, I fell short, and reached 55 from 38 then made this initial post, today I am almost done.

If you read the upper left corner when it dumps you in free roam it should say "Lower your honor to continue the story missions with ...." This is what I got when I tried, So if you are like me and play with high honor, you need to lower it either with gold or by clearing out Van Horn or Thieves landing for example and then, when you hit 75% bad or low honor, you can then run those remaining missions. I hope that helps, You can also go pay 3 gold bars to lower it and then just run the missions, then pay another 3 gold bars to raise it again, if you have the gold and would rather do that.

Im a little slow, ????

Thats interesting, are you 100% sure he went blue? Did you look him up in the player list to make sure he was still on the server ? If he went blue and you werent pretty close you wouldnt see him on the mini map or regular map, you would only be able to see his name in the player list. I know in the past people have gotten confused when someone jumps out of the session near another player while being chased or in a fight and then the other people assume the blip they see is the one they were just chasing when in fact it is a different player, I know of at least three times this happened where I saw it happen.

I agree, I was carrying the dual sawed off's but found I preferred to use my Lancaster or double barreled or auto shotgun instead and that allowed me to carry the Mausers which are super fast firing, I think I want to try the Lamats too and see how they measure up for my play style. The sawed off's are good fun so I am torn, I go back and forth depending on the map, sometimes on a bigger open map, ill take a Springfield and a LAncaster then I do carry the sawed off's so I have the shot gun as well, but now with the Lamats I might run those for the best of both worlds, so many options. I gold plated my first Lamat tonight, it looks super clean.
