  1. Agreed, I was saying the app was still available for the online game for quite a while after the proximity blip update yet got removed close to PC release hence my theory that it wasn’t loss of usefulness that got it removed but inability/unwillingness to support it across all platforms.
  2. Loss of relevance pretty much leads to obsolescence doesn’t it? Regardless of the semantics, it was still in the game for some time after the proximity blip change was introduced but disappeared just before the PC release. Hmm... I always saw it as a convenience more than a competitive advantage - that was the benefit for me and why I miss it.
  3. With all the ultra low level knobheads I see pulling that sort of sh*t in the game I have a theory that they are not noobs but seasoned players playing on an alternate account in a new mode of griefing. Suspiciously they are always around lvl 5 when I look them up after doing bizarre antagonistic crap.
  4. I notice animals aren’t a feature of any pics posted so far...
  5. You could set and clear waypoints using the app as well as see where NPC enemies were on missions and easily and quickly zoom in and out to improve situational awareness. You could also quickly look up who blips on your radar were without risking getting shot while blind. Now when you want to quick access the clunky in-game map you get taken into the menu for collectibles instead because they’re mapped to the same button. I don’t buy that it was removed because it became obsolete, my guess is they couldn’t support it for PC players so binned it for everyone.
  6. I could swear I remember a great little feature where I could have a live interactive map on my iPad to see where I was at all times and where the threats were coming from. But I must have dreamt that as surely no self-respecting game company would take that out and leave us with the clunky in-game map feature (albeit an improvement on GTAO).
  7. A year ago I was thinking they better have animals in the online version or it’ll be totally pointless and nobody will play it. Oh...
  8. Game is so broken right now I can’t tell if I hate the snow in RDO or just hate the whole game at the moment. Love the snow in GTAO - I even loaded that up yesterday in disgust at RDO for no other reason than to hoon around in overpowered RWD super cars with next to no grip while being chased by the rozzers. It’s a sad time for RDO at the moment, barely a week after a (potentially) decent and engaging DLC dropped.
  9. Starting game from camp used to work for me but more recently it’s put me the wrong side of the map and in a camp that has the icon but none of the facilities.
  10. Sadly R* have me hooked with wanting to maintain my daily challenge streak so I will log on today but hopefully they’ll look beyond the number of players playing the game at the moment to see how little time they are now playing for to appreciate our collective frustration at the brokenness of their game.
  11. Hunting wagon not a complete waste of money but it isn’t quite what any of us hoped it would be. Do a quick search on here and you’ll find some threads about how it can be useful in the game.
  12. Real exciting stuff R*. Shame the game is now even more broken than it was before. Spawn into camp but it’s not my camp and is the other side of the world than I should be. New moonshiner event pops up but prevents me from collecting my 3rd heirloom as I’m forced to fast travel to the shack. Event makes me ride all the way to Valentine and when I get there moonshine buyer cannot be freed from revenue agent’s horse so I have to wait for that event to timeout before I can do anything else. And then strong moonshine that was in production totally vanishes. Still no animals of course (3 daily challenges today around killing animals 😂). Complete waste of time, I’m done with the game until I hear it’s fixed. It just failed to even load into story mode.
  13. I had a solo session yesterday (in posse with mate but then he left) but couldn’t set camp. Didn’t risk doing missions or forming my posse, just filled my wagon and satchel as much as I could. Got bored eventually though.
  14. Had a private server last night and can now say with absolute confidence that the lack of animals has NOTHING to do with the introduction of seasonal weather. I’d forgotten half the animals were even in the game, it’s been that bad on PS4 the past few weeks. Can’t seem to get perfect toad carcasses anymore though - used to get them with small game arrow but that doesn’t seem to work now.
  15. If I was R* this is exactly the sort of player I’d want to de-incentivise from playing the game (assuming, like R* have, I’d screwed up the economy and was no longer making money from them). i don’t remember you complaining too much when you were reaping the benefits of R* lowering the rank requirements for a multitude of items like explosive ammo earlier this year.
  16. If you had a production on the go and return to find everything at zero it can be worth quitting the game and reloading. This resolved the situation a couple of times for me.
  17. I wouldn’t expect an in-game rebate from R* any more than I’d expect a real-world rebate from Sony for dropping their console prices several years after release. As an early adopter of anything you have to accept that you’ll be paying over the odds, that’s just the way it is. The in-game money would mean nothing to me now anyway. I understand what you’re saying about rewards for higher-rank players but we’re not really of any interest to R* - they’ve had our money so they’re going to chase new money. They only care that overall player numbers remain at a good level or increase and, given how they’ve screwed themselves as far as players needing to make micro transactions, new/casual players are where they’re going to make their money and keep their numbers up. Anybody that is rank 150+ they can pretty much guarantee they can continually pique interest just with the odd new DLC.
  18. Yeah, it would be nice to have it in the full version of the game. Just for a little while.
  19. @Darconios I gave you an example of how an honour token could be useful to a player - it’s a timesaver, even at rank 280. I don’t place much value on a lot of aspects of the game that R* focus on, for instance I couldn’t care less about cosmetics like clothing items but some players place a high value on such customisation and R* have a broad player base spectrum to satisfy so I say fair enough. Your frustration mostly seems borne out of the fact you have a limit to the number of rewards you can hold, which I can understand, but that is a bug as I don’t see that issue in my game.
  20. This. Yet another example of R* not really thinking through their latest application of turd polish. In saying that I only refer to tha game as a turd in its form since just before the moonshine update - I actually love the game we had when it functioned properly.
  21. Even on Trade Route idiots can be found running around with dynamite trying to blow up the goods or blast people off the train. SMH.
  22. Seems like Cripps has gone into hibernation too - spawned into non-existent camp today and couldn’t set one up anywhere (option greyed out).
  23. I have. Sorry, when you said "ex in your shack" I understood ex to mean except as in no xmas theme in shack.
  24. I thought I had christmas lights in my shack. And there's a wreath on the front door.
  25. Same. Except I did see 3 alligators when I spawned in yesterday but as far as doing the trader role thats just a drop in the ocean. The rest of the session (several hours) I saw a couple of ducks, 3 ravens, and an egret. I used to be able to do the 20 carcasses challenge out of my satchel several days running without a thought. I'm now down to a couple of squirrels and a toad.
