I'm liking my Breton at the moment but I do miss the speed and handling of my Black Arabian especially as I want to try it with the Nacogdoches saddle now I know how good it is. People like to knock whatever is the best on paper to give credence to them making an alternative, less obvious, choice. Ironically though in this case that has made the Arabian a pretty rare sight in the RDO world, everybody riding around on the frontier pursuits horses. Yes, it can be a bit skittish but its nowhere near as bad as the red chestnut arabian nor as bad as people make out. The Kladruber bucked me many a time when I was using it and even the Breton bucked me on the wolf man bounty if more than a couple of wolves got close (and wouldn't return to me, leaving me to get savaged). None of them are perfect, you have to work around the flaws that they have, whatever horse you use. I'm totally with you, I still think the Black Arabian is an outstanding horse.

I finally got to play it yesterday too - thought it was a complete waste of time to be honest. I guess if you find the egg its great but you have 1 chance in however many people join the event and everybody else gets just over a dollar and dumped in the middle of nowhere for their trouble. Free Roam Events need to be worth you dropping whatever you're doing to accept the invite, being prepared that you'll lose what's on your horse, probably lose your camp, and find yourself in a part of the map you didn't want to be. The Condor Egg lottery doesn't have that draw for me.

$200 gift doesn't make up for the $1100 R* have cost me in the last 3 days with disconnects on delivery missions. Condor egg challenge popped as soon as I logged on but bugged out and wouldn’t work for me so no idea what that’s like. Like the fact that all the legendary bounties have all been very differently themed so far but they really need to allow you to dismiss the poster if you want to do a 3* Bounty.

You can mail complete collections to Madame Nazar (like the taxidermist missions in story mode) from any post office. I can sometimes find the wagon in the map by bringing the legend up. Not sure what the rules are for it as sometimes it works, sometimes not. At a guess I'd say if you've been in that general area at some point it will pop on the map with the exact location. Failing that there are sources on the internet stating today's location. So far I've only seen her in about a half-dozen locations so I always check those first.

Cripps well and truly won back my favour yesterday when he killed a couple of lawmen that were chasing me but got too close to the camp for his liking. He’s chased off NPCs trying to attack me while I’m crafting at the campfire before too.

Yes, if I do that mission and have space enough for the full 20 units of materials he doesn't say "Well at least you got some of it". Even if he ever has if I don't really care what he says if I get credited with the 20 units. I'm more concerned with bugs like the resupply mission craps out on the opening cutscene forcing a restart; resupply succeeds and the supplies bar is full but production is still halted and you have to do another mission; game crashes when I'm metres from delivering 100 goods with a posse buddy on a long delivery.

My original answer to your thread addressed the specifics of your question but following that there appeared to be some confusion about the key difference between materials and supplies so I felt it necessary to elaborate. It doesn’t actually matter what type of resupply mission you are doing as Cripps may come out with this phrase on any mission. But, regarding hunting missions specifically, as I said before, the quality of the animal you drop off does not matter at all. If he makes that comment and you receive 20 units of materials then it is a bug. If you receive fewer than 20 units then it will be your materials bar was too full to accommodate a full quota, nothing to do with how well you accomplished the mission.

What I mean, quite simply, is you’re confusing Materials & Supplies. You don’t do MATERIALS resupply missions for Cripps, you do SUPPLIES missions for him. Any materials you get ifrom the mission is an additional bonus. Read the trader screen - “you need materials and supplies to produce goods”. Materials is the top bar and is filled by donating animals to Cripps. The middle bar is nondescript supplies like tanning fluid - this bar is only ever completely full or completely empty and when it’s empty you have to do a mission or buy supplies to continue making goods. After doing a mission it’s completely full. There is no variability to how much supplies you get from a mission, it’s pass/fail. What can vary is how many bonus materials you get - like the mission where you steal a tanker wagon and the health of the wagon determines how many material units you earn (supplies quantity is unaffected). I say again, wagons give a max 20 materials and bags 5. So, to the crux of your query and my initial response, if you’ve donated a lot of materials to Cripps recently and the bar is less than 20 units from full then delivering a wagon from the resupply mission will not yield the maximum 20 units of materials and Cripps will reflect that in his comments. On the hunting missions it doesn’t matter whether the animal you drop off is 1* or 3* - you still get a wagon of supplies with 20 materials (if you have room for them). A full bar of supplies and, as far as I can tell, about half the bar of materials is sufficient for production of 25 goods.

Resupply mission is for supplies, materials are the bonus. You always get 100% supplies from the mission, materials is variable.

You sure your materials weren’t already too near full? Bags are 5 units (each if in a posse), wagons are 20. Often I don’t have room for the full 20 so the message says 18 or 10 or whatever to max it out and Cripps reflects this in his speech.

Recommend you start Collector by getting the bag from Madame Nazar ASAP as that role just progresses as you’re playing doing other things. It requires very minimal dedicated attention to progress. Animals have been a real problem recently. Best bet is to do a bit of hunting whilst on trader or BH missions as more animals spawn then.

Impressed with the Breton ($950 one) so far and I think I’m only lvl 2 bonding with it. No problems with the wolves doing 4* legendary Bounty and when I happened upon a cougar the horse acted like it was just a jackrabbit. Speed and handling are obviously a big shift from the Arabian but I can live with that.

Bolas have better range than the lasso but you have to get to the target pretty quick to hogtie and retrieve your bolas. I've already lost a fair few, expensive outlay at $30 a pop. I only ever use them when I need to for a challenge now. And if you have a challenge to use them - you have to lasso and hogtie the suspect before launching your bolas at them - WTF?!

Only just got my multiplier back up to 2, would be gutted to see it drop again now the role based challenges are paying out properly.

I didn't think you could have dupes in satchel and thats why the rate of looting them drops to non-existant when you have about 15 like I did? Reason I thought this is I had one in my lockbox that I couldn't collect until I used the one in my satchel. Did a few of them earlier to clear the backlog again, they all gave about 1.5gb but <$100. I prefer more cash less gold.

Yeah, I was annoyed when I found out you could only discard from the wagon. Now I only put decent carcasses in there and use my horse for the poorest one I have that I might swap for better.

Best use of the wagon is 5 large animal carcasses and then anything else you can fit on it. You can then have another large carcass & 2 mediums on the horse plus whatever pelts you’ve got. You won’t lose what’s on the horse when fleeing/recalling it. I think I read the pelt limit for horse was 50?

https://www.rdr2.org/forums/topic/6166-hunting-wagon-possible-spoilers/ I had a lot of the same frustrations as you. 😁 Call/dismiss the wagon using the stables option in the in-game menu - it becomes a lot more useful!! The way I use it now is travel around by horse as normal, make a kill, put it on horse. If I then find another animal as good or better I kill it, dismiss the horse, call the wagon and stow it, dismiss the wagon, call horse back again and continue. I still think it could be better (maybe it will be?) but it does a useful job.

With the number of issues there have been with disconnects I don't buy into the argument that ISPs or router settings are the root cause. I don't have problems with any other internet connectivity when I get a RDO disconnect and the game should be able to work without people fiddling around with router settings, especially as these days most providers lock them down pretty well to reduce the chances of idiot users causing their own problems and flooding their call centres. The best piece of advice I've seen on here that I would absolutely recommend to everyone is to hard-wire your PS4/Xbox to the router. If your console is in another room then get some powerline adapters - they work great. It may well reduce your chances of disconnects but it will certainly give you a much smoother and stable online gaming experience (and faster downloads). I thought I was going to get a disconnect last night as the screen faded to black in free roam but to my surprise it came back again - not sure if this is something R* have improved on the matter, allowing a momentary dropout?

I wonder if they changed their compensation policy in the knowledge that they had a fix coming on Tuesday? Or they had no way of telling which players had a valid claim and the sheer volume of cases caused management to stomp on the compensation? That doesn't change the fact you should be compensated properly though. When I got the 50 bars I was thinking that's not going to cover 21 days of getting way less gold than I could be earning, what with the new challenges paying gold too. Luckily for me there was then the bug (now fixed) that the multiplier didn't work on the role challenges so I wasn't losing as much. Now I'll probably just about break even or thereabouts. You have to buy medium to be able to buy the large wagon? Oh, thats a relief then, in hindsight I thought the medium wagon was a complete waste of money considering you quickly rank up to the level needed for the large (when there are animals spawning on the map). Medium wagon is a slight improvement in profitability, Large wagon is a big improvement in profitability.
