Money Exploits

Anyone knows one? I was using one and I guess someone went public with it because now there are like 7 to 10 people in the area trying the same thing.... Now before you judge me I was playing the game honestly but the way it is right now, at least for me, is impossible, infuriating and is about to make me go full crazy...
I was gathering money by hunting, and the trolls were a nuisiance BUT I can deal with them, but not this sh*t, there is no work around this... I spent a ****ing hour gathering pelts and stuff to sell to the butcher with 3* and all, and then the game disconects me because of some error, respawning online sends me across the map and all my stuff that was in the horse go *PUFF*

True, but I wanted the ones that are not that openly known... the ones I'll find in those vehicles will be the ones me and another 30.000 people saw and are trying to do.

This is exactly the reason why they gonna wipe progress entirely ... because people use glitches instead of reporting them so they can fix it.

So am I to wait until they have the good will to fix the server to get money? Have you spent hours of your online time hunting and doing it legitimately so a random error disconnects you and you loose all your hunting progress when you are about to deliver the game? Mind you there is no prey running around 5M from a butcher, you need to go somewhere hunt what you want and go back, doing 1 by 1 just to be sure to get at least one is ridiculous. Or the game disconnects you after you bought a 400+$ gun and when you go back you don't have the gun but your cash was deducted from your wallet anyways?
Sorry pal this game is constantly sending me "**** YOU" messages, I think I deserve at least a "**** you back" to the game.

Are you talking about the dirty sheep ****ers?  If you are, thats not really a money exploit.

 

Caught one of my friends doing this last night when i joined her game.   The entire farm was filled with dead sheep.   She didn't seem to to proud about it when i called her a dirty sheep ****er.   lol

Nope, it's nothing like on GTA where you could Dupe items or cars, it's about the same as this "Farming" animals thing, you go somewhere with jewelry, get them, re-join online, you go get them again, there is a house in near Three Sisters that spawns 2 Platinum spots, so the range of one item goes from $1.0 to $2.5...

Alright, being real generous with my numbers here I've never got that high reward, let's do some math (Which might be wrong because I'm dumb), the best mission gives $10 for 10 minutes mission if you want to get $1000 you're looking at almost 17 hours of grinding. There is a horse costing $950 that's 15~16 hours of griding for a single item.
Now let's not be naive then and hope R* fix how money is rewarded to the player, so for a casual he doesn't need to spend a week and a half to get one item OR spend Real Cash to speed up the process, let's also hope that R* doesn't shove p2w items in the game with those microtransactions bullsh*t on a game we paid full price for. ( FYI: The Arabian that you can only buy with GOLD has better health and stamina then the other ones that you can get with normal RDO money. )

I do the jewelry respawn thing....  lol.   Made enough to buy a bolt action.

I don't consider it an exploit.   Since searching for items and finding a new game is legit game play.  And so is farming farm animals.

If anything is an exploit in this game...its the bean counters at R* who work for Strauss Zelnick trying to nickle and dime the players with extremely high prices and crappy payouts.

In horse races.. Comming in 2nd or 3rd pays about $1.   

Missions pay out $2-$4 sometimes..

Do what you gotta do.

They need to fix this and they will. Everyone is complaining about it. If they want anyone to play this game they just need to fix that. I agree with you its broken, everyone knows that. All im saying is that exploiting smt instead of reporting it will result in progress wipe from Rockstar. Which basically means there is no reason to play rn.

I wouldn't worry about wipes, at least from previous experiences, whenever something was exploited by someone on GTA:O they only erased the money from the culprit and not everyone else, they have that system to know who did what and how, so if they end up doing a full wipe because of something like that, they would be only trying to breed more hate between the players. At least that's how I see it.

Is it a released game? No. It is beta. So what you are saying is that rather than test the game and offer feedback about what is wrong, you will do something you consider to be exploiting in order to benefit yourself.

I have no issue with that. You do you. However "before you judge me"? Bugger off, mate. You willingly exploit in a sodding beta, you are being judged.

Would you like a legitimate way to make decent money? I know it is not what you asked for but I will tell you anyway.

Birds. Outside Saint Denis is easiest. Herons, pelicans, loons, ducks. Anything that flies. 40-60 dollars for ten minutes work. Only works during daylight though. 

Exploiting for personal gain hurts everyone who plays by unbalancing the economy. Is it crap right now? Yes. So offer feedback on the beta. Tell them what they need to fix to make the game successful and fun. Don't use it as an excuse to game the system.

Yeah, north of St. Denis is one of the best hunting spots. Get some gators, stow the best pelt but go ahead and skin others to get the meat, teeth, etc. Also lots of wild hogs around there too. The animals are all pretty close to the city, so you don't have to ride far to get to the butcher.

And absolutely as you've said, get as many birds as possible. Stow the two best ones and skin the rest.

About the only problem I've encountered there is sometimes you have to wait in line to use the butcher.

It is cheating and is wrong.  You cheat to make money, which in turn buys better guns and horses and whatever other gear you want.  Why so you can shoot some honest player who is doing it by the book. 

 

Don't kid yourself and think someone cheats that they are hurting Rockstar.  They aren't, they are only cheating other players.

Sir, have you read anything I said besides what you wanted? I know legitmate ways, in fact my example was about hunting, the prices are absurd, the way to get money sucks, how economy is being handled is a joke, is it the only reason? No, there is another and that’s the biggest one.... they got a lot of money from sales and the way servers are right now is impossible to play, I don’t mind the grinding and am all up for hunting, BUT like I said, what’s the ****ing point when you spend hours hunting gets disconnected and loose ALL your hunt.

Now read again my other example of loosing a bought gun when I got disconnected, my money and the gun were gone.

At the end of the day though, you want exploits. If you don't like the way the game is, wait till it releases, don't play the beta. Oh and don't try to act high and mighty when you are sitting there saying "Hey guys, how do I cheat? But don't judge me, yo."

Cheating is subjective.  In this case, nothing i did was against any rules or wron..

Looting a cabin and then joining a new game and looting it again, is not cheating.    

What i choose to do with the money i 'earned' and who i choose to shoot with the guns i buy doesn't matter.   I sure as hell don't go around shooting people for no reason.

The random i saved from a cougar attack with the bolt action i bought, (who had animal skins on his horse) sent me a huge "I love you message'

Why use a glitch to make money?  Most players will use a glitch to buy better gear and advantages.  Guns and Horses.

Many not all players that race for these benefits do it so they have an edge in PvP in a shooter game.  Now by the examples I have seen in the past of games like this.  Those same players will go looking for players that off doing there own thing for sake of fun.  Now if you are just starting out, do you really want to have some tool that is already level 20+ and bored deciding to kill you, wait for you to respond come and kill you again and again and again and again.  Eventually, that kind of PvP gets boring and yet Trolls just won't stop.  They you find yourself quitting and complaining about the game and telling everyone how bad it is.  Not because of the game, but because some players have no restraint.  Now if you are lucky a player like myself may intervene, but then your attacker feels the same way you did, cause now I ruined their fun.

So the money you gain from cheats and glitches to give you a upperhand?  While others are grinding the game to death?

No it isn't subjective.  You are cheating if you think the game was designed for you claim and item, immediately switch to a new game over and over is what they intended.  You are cheating and seem perfectly ok with it.  I say own it, don't try to lie to us into thinking it is ok to cheat and glitch the game.  

Maybe you don't go around shooting other players, but there are many that do.  Those players generally stalk players they know they can get easy kills for "Fun".  

Now all this said, I'm not that player that will report you either.  I don't tape my games and I often find the game companies unwilling to do anything without me jumping through hoops that they should be jumping through.

I just believe if you are going to cheat, accept it.  Just don't try to buffalo everyone else.

Either way.. show me where in the Red Dead Online rules that says..  I have to join a game and stay in that  game and never leave.

Besides i make more money now hunting and fishing.

Show me where in the tutorial, it says to loot, then change games and immediately loot it again and again.   Common sense serves better then excuses.  In life there are just some things that are right and some are wrong.  You shouldn't need a rule book to explain cheating and not cheating.

I don't work for Rockstar.  When and if they choose to ban your account you can accept that as proof.   So I don't have to prove it.  What I know is if they ban you they won't play the "oh we didn't know, that you realized you was cheating over and over and over."  They will ban you and that will be that.  If you don't care then it won't matter.   I have spoke with those who got banned in GTA Online, cause they used a glitch and didn't know any better, *wink *wink.  

I would also suggest if you come on forums and claim to cheat, I will point it out for 2 reasons.  1st) you may actual don't realize you're cheating and can be banned for it.  No refunds.  2nd) your cheating and bragging about it in the forums can lead to others doing it, which could get them banned.  In turn, that decreases the shelf life of the game.  Which I do enjoy playing.

So if you want to brag about it, it makes it my business cause you are affecting the whole community which I am a part of.  Also if you do feel a need a rulebook, feel free to look up the Terms of Service for the game.  It is usually pretty general to cover their backsides legally.   They may or may not doing anything, but if they do they can ban you no questions asked and with no warning.

You don't want to put yourself into other people's shoes then alright, I've done it honestly up to the point where I lost half a day worth of playing by servers disconnecting me constantly, by day I mean in hours I've played a total of 12 Hrs since it released dealing with bugs making my stuff vanish, I wish I had more time to play so all this frustation would cease earlier but I don't, and now I have to do the same sh*t over and over again because that is the only thing that does not vanish when the game decides I shouldn't be playing anymore... like whenever I am, if I go AFK for some reason my character only gets disconnected by inactivity instead of some retarded problem, the system is ****ing me up so I want anarchy... at the end of the day I don't want an edge on somebody else at the end of the day I want my ****ing things back.

@Bonzai Sorry to hear this happened to you.  Unfortunately, that is all we can offer.  This is a Beta Testing.  Go to Rockstar Forums and let them know.  As a player in the community, please to abuse the game and support game breaking issues.  You are not the only one being affected this way.  Bringing chaos may not affect your game, but it could to someone else.  If they then have to waste time fixing the cheats and glitches that you abuse, then they may never spend time fixing the issues that originally started you down that road.  

A game company will have a limited budget for such things and so they will only focus on is the biggest fire that they think they can fix within their resources.  Long term hurts the game.

On a side note, please don't take this the wrong way, but at the end of the Beta.  There is a chance you will lose everything and have to start all over anyway.  It is Beta and nothing is guarenteed til the real game is released.

My new policy is to largely ignore the grind and play for fun.  Easier to say than do, though.  

Sure, I'll still hunt and sell etc - but only so long as it is fun.  I'll hunt for a bit, fish for a bit, then do something else.  I wont keep pace with the dedicated farmers and grinders, but so what?  So long as i play enough to just about make sure I'm not totally over-powered in the death matches I'll cool with it.

Glitches are tempting, but if boring, why bother?  It's not so much a moral issue for me, as just a I want to play to have fun issue.
