Did they already give up on trying to fix the game?

 

These constant discounts seem aimed more toward new/oblivious players to log in to maintain the illusion of a good player count to appease share holders.  That can only go on for so long.  Burning a candle at both ends type of thing.

This update seems pretty slim on top of that.  .....but they are still trying to fix the game.  I logged in the other day after weeks of being away and was  surprised to see tons of animals on a packed server.  

Fixes are at snails pace but they are still working on it.  I'm planning on putting in some more time since the animal spawns were the main reason I shelved the game for a while.

I’m also thinking the weekly update is thin due to the fact we are drawing close to the end of the outlaw pass; the big update is on the way and I’m hoping they are getting everything in place to make it all work this time. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

well new players are coming in every day regardless of how buggy the game is, best way to keep a new player is rapid progression.

bug fixes are part of big updates when it comes to R*, not small stand alones. what we got some weeks ago was just so their twitter would no longer be dominated by the same question every single time they posted something.

 

they got the wildlife back to about 50% of what it used to be, and that is how it will remain untill the next major content release.

I would say 30%   but hey ! it's an improvement !!

I even shot a turkey in online y-day - hvent seen those in months !!!!!    but still not a lot of big game animals out there. I havent been able to finish a single one of Cripps quests involving the animal hunting request for months now. The animal that im supposed to hunt are not there and i run around until the timer ends without finding the damn game.

Sad to say that I have given up on the game until the major update, my first proper break ever.  Just couldn't be bothered with the animal/camp/moonshine glitches.  They seem now to be in a groove of cycling their player numbers - giving bonuses to new players, accepting tht most of them will leave but relying on getting new blood in.  It's like a mortgage lender offering better rates to new customers - not fair, and in the long term a self-defeating business practice.  I just check in on the forum occasionally to gauge whether to return.  We're not there, yet.  Sad, as if the content they currently offer just worked I'd be delighted with the game and sample no other.  As it is, it's my most disappointing gaming experience.

100%  most of us that's played since beta have more money and gold then we will likely ever spend. With that said it is getting more stable , alligators are returning , new grieves are trying there luck. Had a couple level 200s shoot one of us last weekend and tried to steal his gator ! 😀 gotta love there efforts. Well they left server hungry , broken , and bleeding ! We are still in love with it and plan to remain till it comes back to glory. Only the strong will survive this down time.

Except this feels like a slap in the face to people who actually play the game and paid for items in game at full price.   Seems to me this more a move by R* to keep player numbers up to appease their investors, as most of us day one players are basically giving up on the game in its current state.

Game breaking issues are not something that should be 'kicked on down the line' till the next update.  Minor issues, sure...

 

I mean, what happens after next 'big update'..   And it gets worse?  Do we wait till the end of summer for another fix?  

 

Also their twitter hasn't really change.  People are still blasting R* on twitter.   I should know, im one of them...lol

R* is not in a hurry to fix their game.   Because all us day one players made tons of money and gold.

So they have turned to new players.  Gave them slight discounts.  Kept the game half ass playable with barely any animals.  

Broke newbs +  Gold Bars 4 Sale = Profit.

 

Could be wrong tho…  But that does sound like a Take Two type of move.

I feel you there.  I got back to Story Mode to finish all achevements and im almost there - maybe a couple of days more. 

for 4 days now i started logging in to online but play mostly 1 hour max - just to see if something has changed.     I really hope they will come with fixes and updates so we can sink in again.

Sounds like fun there partner !!!         Im trying to endure the "bad days" as well and still hope for a better future.  I simply just love this game and cant make myself play something else.   Mostly i do a couple of pvp matches and top cripps up a bit when i stumble across some game (yes !! sometimes i can find a couple of gators so its an improvement). Hell im leaving work right now after i finish this post, buy a six pack and start shooting  I think i might be addicted to the game

Yes story mode is a good shout, I'm not done with all the achievements there.  Trouble is I have targets ahead of me in Elite, which isn't as good as RDR but is better than no gaming.  My wife bought me 'The Hateful Eight' for a recent occasion, though, and I have been westerns through and through since I started on cinema in the 1980s, and love all the old ones, so I am fully committed to this game strategically.  I just wish I could persuade myself that the studio cares!

Week three of the game being shelved. A game is supposed to be fun, first and foremost. Broken, buggy messes that used to work, are not fun. Picked up GTAO again when the 2 mil giveaway was a thing, and I've gained like 40 levels. Not going to pick RDO up again till some kind of substantial update. These bonuses are not worth my time.

Boredom from lack of content, plus the bugs like lack of animals has pretty much caused me to shelve the game for now. Instead I recently turned my attention to Star Wars Battlefront 2 which can be picked up for real cheap in the PS store right now. That game has made tremendous strides since the disaster it was at launch.

Me too.   Friend of mine kept preaching about SWBF2, I just laughed it off.   But....

Saw it on sale.  Grabbed it.  Got instantly hooked.    Having so much fun.

 

Plus the new update today is great.

Figured it might be right up your alley. The game says it has assisted aim, but I find it to be useless, so I've been free aiming. I find free aim to be much easier there than here.

Even tho the game has assisted aim.  Its not a hard lock snap on like R* games uses.  So it really doesn't bother me much at all.

Honestly, if R* got rid of the snappy hard lock on and just kept the aim assist, id be cool with it.

trust me, having played gta5o for 3 years, i know how they do stuff. at one time one of their choppers (the stealth cobra style inspired) lost its homing missiles during a pring time update. was not fixed before the next major update was released aka the summer, meaning the chopper was unusable as a weapon for over 3 months.

 

as for wildlife, go where players are not. moust of the challenging bountys sends me off the beaten path, and i see anything from bears, deers and moose on a regular basis. (in addition to a crap load of rabbits and other tiny stuff) I even get jumped by wolf packs at knight now. yesterday a bounty was in the snowy hills of grizzly west, plenty of animals with big antlers walking around up there.

only thing i dont see is cugars, crocs are in spades down in lagras.

I was a day one GTA O player..   I played GTA O for over 5 years.  Was part of a racing crew with some of the fastest racers in GTA O.   So I know how R* works.     Only reason I quit playing is because GTA O became too cluttered with too many absurd OP vehicles and weapons.     For me, the best time for GTA O was before the next gen version and heists where released.      

No animals in RD O would be like no vehicles in GTA O.  And R* leaving it in that state for over half a year.

On top of that.  GTA O has all the basic feature that RD O doesn't, yet should have.  Which if it did have, id still be playing RD O.

Lol yes quite - I'm flying an Imperial Clipper in an explorer build, first time I tried docking I took hull damage as mucked up my landing.  Have switched back to my near-impregnable Anaconda while I get my eye back in.
