Bounty-hunter in RDR2

Even though Red Dead Redemption is my favourite game, the bounty hunter quest were actually pretty straight forward. You just have to pick Up the bounty sheet, go to the place where it was last seen, kill the cronies and snatch the guy or kill him.

In RDR2 i really hope that the bounty hunter quest is by all means exactly that. I'm thinking of a quest like the ones Skyrim has, joining the dots, looking for clues in different areas, questioning people by the easy or the hard way...

What do you guys think about it?

I would like it to be a series of "hunting down" the men. Like you get the direct information about them but you can't just go to the location and expect them to be there. Maybe they are out doing something else, maybe they headed to the mountains to hide, anything like that. It can be a bit more challenging and time-consuming in that sense and to me, it would make it more fun.

I think it will be cool to see how bounties get taken in western movies, spend a few days to get to the location where you claim the bounty dead or alive. Would be funny to see the bounty escape and you have to track them down.

I mean really, if they want to go all out and be realistic, there will be more than one guy going after these bounties. That is how it has always been. They all want the reward money so having one or two other people gunning down the same wanted man would make it all the more interesting if you ask me.

Is bounty hunting confirmed? I'm not sure if it would make sense. Arthur is an outlaw so if anything you would expect him to be the bounty not the hunter. I think the only way it would work is if Dutch has a list of people that he wants capturing and/or killing, so its still the same concept, but you are acting on behalf of Dutch rather than the law.

Yeah it is going to be in the game we just don't know how extensive it will be. I am guessing it will be more than some wanted posters blowing in the wind this time around though.

The gang could use bounty hunting as an alternative method of generating money in between heists and robberies for the gang. Which would bee pretty cool so hunt down a few bounties, possibly accompanied by another gang member.

Or maybe they do this but they recruit the guy instead. Like you can have the option to turn him in or gain another gang member. I mean realistically, that would be something they could do since bounty hunting can go either way.

I personally love the bounty hunter missions, makes me feel like a right bad-ass haha. I always like to be sneaky and then let rip, snatching the bounty alive.

I think its spot on what Debbo89 said, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for Arthur to be doing this from the law perspective, but there may be missions

very similar to bounty hunting given by Dutch or another well respected member of the gang to hunt down people who have wronged the group, or those that

are standing in the way of Dutch's plans for the group. That'd be really fun and surely build trust with Dutch ad the group. It's gunna be interesting to see if you have a 'choice' in these sorts of things or whether they'll be part of the main story. I think they'd probably be 'side' missions though, that may affect the story telling.

for instance, dutch could give you a side mission to go get intel on a bank the groups planning to rob, before the actual heist. It'd be cool to have the option to walk in all guns blazing and not know details, or have the choice of going on an extra mission to find out info before the hesit. This could also weild benefits and extra goodies as youve put more work into the job.

Back in the day, it wasn't uncommon that an outlaw considered a good guy in one territory and the bad guy in another.  Wyatt Earp had history before becoming the great law man we know today.  Billy the Kid, Jesse James, both well known outlaws.  Both was known for being kind to those they fought for, yet had no issues about committing crimes.    Many country icons had questionable histories.

In RDR, the sheriff knew about Marson.  Yet had no issues in using him to get things done.
