D-pad down should expand the map if it isn't already, show the area, time, temp, amount of funds, etc. Not unlike GTAV if you're familiar with that UI.3 points

I've been following this forum and issue for over a week now, and, sadly, I finally caved and picked up an XBO X to resolve it. I work long hours at my job, waiting patiently for months to play this game, and am just tired of the day-to-day suspenseful wait to simply see whether Rockstar *is aware* of the issue. To whoever is doubting whether it's a legitimate issue on the PS4 Pro you're absolutely wrong. On the Pro with HDR the game is so muddy and blurry it looks like someone took a saturation and sharpness slider and dialed it back to -100. With HDR off a blur can be seen on character's faces and nearby objects in buildings that eventually becomes so distracting it will hurt your eyes. In 1080p the blur goes away, but the overall image quality falls noticeabl, with hair on head or horse looking pixelated and fuzzy to such an extent it looks like a PS3 game. I was prepared to be brutally honest with myself in determining whether the purchase was justified; the answer was clear within minutes. Image quality on the X has improved in all aspects substantially. There are many more details I wasn't able to see on the Pro: glitter on snow, a glow and flicker of candlelight, and lush facial animations. Overall, everything has become sharp and crisp. So to those questioning the legitimacy of this issue, don't. It's incredibly frustrating for anyone involved, and even though I have the correct experience in hand now, I definitely feel cheated. I'll play the game at least twice in first and third person and hopefully use the console for higher definition movie-watching, but hope this issue is resolved is resolved soon for those still stuck in wait.2 points

On this mission, you can rob the room as many times as you'd like, even after the mission ends. Grab the gun, then run out the door and turn to the left to the sherrif's office to turn yourself in. If you ONLY KILL O'DRISCOLLS, your bounty will be less than $10, and you can pay that off easily. You can then repeat the theft and keep taking the money on the table ($50.00) and killing O'Driscolls. I did it about ten times and made $400.00+ easily. You can also keep looting scholfields and dual wield them once you get the off-hand holster.2 points

Quite enjoying spending some more time around camp this time around. Although I just got knocked out by Bill for antagonising everyone2 points

Just takin' a puff outside the barber. I love how different Arthur can look, depending on how you dress and shave him. It was hard to really capture how awesome this mustache is in self-portrait mode. It usually looks a lot straighter and pointier.2 points

When I started this forum over a year ago I never thought it would explode like it has in recent weeks and would like to thank each and every one of you for contributing and making this the best Red Dead Redemption 2 community there is. Special shout out to our hardly hard working mods and also @jackson424242, our 1,000th member! I Can't believe we have reached this milestone so quickly since the game launched. 10,000 members next...2 points

I get what you're suggesting but I think it's safe to say that RDR2 already has mass appeal. I don't see them changing the challenging or immersive components due to those who don't agree with the gameplay. .....I'm not talking about bugs, glitches, UI enhancements, etc. btw. I agree with you though. I've seen a handful of arguments in this forum regarding gameplay "issues" that seem to suggest that they are taking a hamfisted approach to their play. I've said it before and I'll say it again.... This game rewards finesse and penalizes heavy-handedness. ....and it's all the better for it IMO.2 points

I'm 70% done, taking my time. I've even done all the bandit challenges, I've had my bounty up to $550. I not once have had an issue with bounty hunters unless it was intentional. Pay your bounties, sell some wagons or something. Unless you're playing as a total irresponsible bandito mass murderer, I don't see how this is possible. I've heard this and similar complaints only from people who don't fully understand the game mechanics or who don't want to actually put the work in and play the game. This isn't GTA. I think a lot of people expected this to be gta but with horses, and that isn't how these games are. I most certainly hope Rockstar doesn't start changing things just for mass appeal.2 points

Wow dude... Calm yourself... Most of the comments were people actually trying to help you... Sometimes the obvious isn't so obvious... You wouldn't be having these problems if you followed some of the advice here.2 points

That horse is always pulling that cart with those hillbillies. I ran into them myself northwest of Annesburg, right after I freed the horse and have her stabled for now as my backup to my main horse. At some point, once I max out "Arnold", I'll start on her.1 point

Looking like a legit grizzeled mountain man who's hunted just as many animals as he has bounty's. Bad ass 🤠1 point

I know that feeling... Just tap down on the d pad and it shows everything. Holding down gives you minimap options.1 point

Thanks @Kean_1 I am familiar with the GTA interface, and like I said, I knew it was something small that I just hadn't noticed. I'll look for that next time I play. Funny how I notice a lot of little things like the pattern that the butterfly flies around in, but didn't notice something that was staring me in the face LOL1 point

It is possible that they aren't giving a sh*t, but this would be surprising considering they spent all these years making this game. This is now their flagship game so it would be hard to believe they don't give a sh*t about it. No one can make a game like RDR2 and not be absolutely passionate about it. I may be a little naive, but I want to believe they are working really hard trying to fix this. They are just not communicating about it. This is R* remember. They don't operate like most other game developers. They are very secretive about what they do. I do not excuse them for releasing the game in this state at all, but it is done. All we can really do is wait and see if this issue gets addressed. If not, we will have to decide what we want to do. Either to stop buying R* games (which I sense is not an option) or to bite the bullet and buy an XBOX ONE X and another copy of the game. R* is an unstoppable force and they know it. They will get away with this if it is their intention to ignore the issue.1 point

I agree entirely. However, after putting a lot of thought into it, I'm not sure that's "entirely" rockstars fault. They exaggerated the gameplay in their demo vids. Like, when they said "you can call out to a passing rider" and gave the insinuation that you could actually have a conversation with random NPCs. Unfortunately, they were being literal in that's ALL you can do. Call out to them. I think for me where my disappointment in the gameplay falls was the hype I got from the people who got early previews. They said so many blatantly false things that R* never bothered to correct. I heard several people say that you could have entire conversations with NPC's and that they would all be as immersive as your conversations with Dutch. It was blatant lies like this that made me think it was a literal living, breathing world. And, when it came around and every feature that was hyped up was barely even functional, I felt cheated.1 point

Right? I love how you can make Arthur pretty much to your liking. The only limitations are facial structural features and hair color.1 point

I absolutely love how diverse Arthur looks based on facial hair and haircuts alone.1 point

This sounds like a good idea. I will definitely bring this idea up with the staff, and see what they have to say about it. Meanwhile, I already finished the game so the spoilers do not bother me, but I try and catch the spoilers and hide them before other users start seeing them. Knowing the forum is getting bigger and bigger every day, it's getting challenging to catch every spoiler that is posted, which is why I think your idea could work. Thank you for the suggestion, and I apologize for the spoiled content that you saw before we could get to it.1 point

Agree with this 100%. This is not GTA or COD. Its Red Dead Redemption 2, and these are the mechanics of the game. They won't change so you'll have to. If you can push forward a bit further money won't be so much of an issue anyway.1 point

There is 6 chapters and 2 epilogues, and I already finished the game. How am I defending the mechanics when I literally just said the criminal system is sensitive? 🤷♀️1 point

For me riding falls into 3 "fast" modes ... 1 tap - this is where I tap the "X" every stride of the horse, tap, tap, tap, tap, and that makes the horse go very fast, but it also slowly loses stats and pants, this is the stride when you're running away from a pack of something that you simply won't be able to survive, and also when you just want to get somewhere in a hurry and you know the horse can rest when you get there. 2 tap - this is where I tap the "X" every other stride of the horse, tap, pause, tap, pause, tap, pause, tap, pause, and that makes the horse run at a sustainable stride without losing stats, but it won't let the horse recover stats from 1 tap, for that you have to switch to 3 tap until stats recover. 3 tap - this is where I tap the "X" every third stride of the horse, tap, pause, pause, tap, pause, pause, tap, pause, pause, as the horse is running, and this is sustainable indefinitely, but is a little slower than 2 tap, and is really good for letting the horse make fast progress while recovering from 1 tap. That's how I do it, anyway.1 point

Thanks Yoda but don't worry about it. I figured RDR2.org would see it's share of this lot when the game released. I don't see the reason people like Wildpoop have to resort to disrespectful remarks like that but to be honest, I'm too old to evn give a crap. Clearly his hamfisted ways of playing the game are working for him so what do I know anyway? Let him continue to be frustrated with the game. By contrast, I'm having a great time with it and learning how to react with the gameworld. RDR2.org was a fun and cordial atmosphere up till launch. ......I'm not going to let a couple bad apples ruin it for me. Time to start using the ignore feature.1 point
