  6. I've been following this forum and issue for over a week now, and, sadly, I finally caved and picked up an XBO X to resolve it. I work long hours at my job, waiting patiently for months to play this game, and am just tired of the day-to-day suspenseful wait to simply see whether Rockstar *is aware* of the issue. To whoever is doubting whether it's a legitimate issue on the PS4 Pro you're absolutely wrong. On the Pro with HDR the game is so muddy and blurry it looks like someone took a saturation and sharpness slider and dialed it back to -100. With HDR off a blur can be seen on character's faces and nearby objects in buildings that eventually becomes so distracting it will hurt your eyes. In 1080p the blur goes away, but the overall image quality falls noticeabl, with hair on head or horse looking pixelated and fuzzy to such an extent it looks like a PS3 game. I was prepared to be brutally honest with myself in determining whether the purchase was justified; the answer was clear within minutes. Image quality on the X has improved in all aspects substantially. There are many more details I wasn't able to see on the Pro: glitter on snow, a glow and flicker of candlelight, and lush facial animations. Overall, everything has become sharp and crisp. So to those questioning the legitimacy of this issue, don't. It's incredibly frustrating for anyone involved, and even though I have the correct experience in hand now, I definitely feel cheated. I'll play the game at least twice in first and third person and hopefully use the console for higher definition movie-watching, but hope this issue is resolved is resolved soon for those still stuck in wait.

  8. On this mission, you can rob the room as many times as you'd like, even after the mission ends. Grab the gun, then run out the door and turn to the left to the sherrif's office to turn yourself in. If you ONLY KILL O'DRISCOLLS, your bounty will be less than $10, and you can pay that off easily. You can then repeat the theft and keep taking the money on the table ($50.00) and killing O'Driscolls. I did it about ten times and made $400.00+ easily. You can also keep looting scholfields and dual wield them once you get the off-hand holster.

  11. Just takin' a puff outside the barber. I love how different Arthur can look, depending on how you dress and shave him. It was hard to really capture how awesome this mustache is in self-portrait mode. It usually looks a lot straighter and pointier.

  12. When I started this forum over a year ago I never thought it would explode like it has in recent weeks and would like to thank each and every one of you for contributing and making this the best Red Dead Redemption 2 community there is. Special shout out to our hardly hard working mods and also @jackson424242, our 1,000th member! I Can't believe we have reached this milestone so quickly since the game launched. 10,000 members next...

  13. I get what you're suggesting but I think it's safe to say that RDR2 already has mass appeal. I don't see them changing the challenging or immersive components due to those who don't agree with the gameplay. .....I'm not talking about bugs, glitches, UI enhancements, etc. btw. I agree with you though. I've seen a handful of arguments in this forum regarding gameplay "issues" that seem to suggest that they are taking a hamfisted approach to their play. I've said it before and I'll say it again.... This game rewards finesse and penalizes heavy-handedness. ....and it's all the better for it IMO.

  14. I'm 70% done, taking my time. I've even done all the bandit challenges, I've had my bounty up to $550. I not once have had an issue with bounty hunters unless it was intentional. Pay your bounties, sell some wagons or something. Unless you're playing as a total irresponsible bandito mass murderer, I don't see how this is possible. I've heard this and similar complaints only from people who don't fully understand the game mechanics or who don't want to actually put the work in and play the game. This isn't GTA. I think a lot of people expected this to be gta but with horses, and that isn't how these games are. I most certainly hope Rockstar doesn't start changing things just for mass appeal.

  20. Same here. I learned that one a few days after launch and it helped a lot. These are really good features. I'm just unsure why they haven't made them more accessible through a control list in the menu, etc.

  24. Fun fact, did you know if you equip the pocket watch in your inventory, select it and choose "use" it will then display the pocket watch on the pause menu and the time displayed on the pocket watch is the actual time in the game. I was impressed with this level of detail. You can check it by pressing down on the d-pad to see the in-game time. Then press the pause button and the pocket watch reflects the same time. The little things they think of in this game are amazing.

  25. Agreed, I was having a hard time getting him to swap it out too and mistakenly tapped L1 and it swapped out the weapon, it seems like the hint menu tells you something about holding L1 and selecting it, that wasn't working for me, tapping L1 quickly does.

  26. Thanks @Kean_1 I am familiar with the GTA interface, and like I said, I knew it was something small that I just hadn't noticed. I'll look for that next time I play. Funny how I notice a lot of little things like the pattern that the butterfly flies around in, but didn't notice something that was staring me in the face LOL

  29. So I just got done killing the Legendary Fox and Coyote. I feel like most people forget that you can sell the whole animal its self but you don’t necessarily want to do that because you‘re loosing money. Any animal that you can pick up and stow on your horse you can do this with. When you kill the Legendary animal don’t skin it right away or if you do stow the skin first then the carcass, and ride to the trapper [IMPORTANT] Then take the animal off your horse and skin it. Next sell the legendary skin Now pickup the animal carcass and sell that to the trapper. [Example] • Legendary Coyote as a whole = $22.75 • Legendary Coyote Skin = $22.00 • Legendary Coyote Carcass = $11.38 You profit an extra $10.63 *Legendary Buck Profit = $13.25 Might as well do it Hope this helps y’all! [My Questions] If any of you guys have given the whole legendary animal to the trapper if you still get the dead eye experience levels and if it updates in the compendium as you skinning it therefore completing the animal 3/3? Bot sure why you would do it that way but just curious Happy hunting

  34. Ever have a bounty hunt go as stupidly as this one? In my defense, it was about 2 am, and my brain had long since began to drift... I picked up a bounty mission in Valentine. Just had to go near Wallace Station, capture a woman outlaw, and return her alive to the Valentine jail. I had a $300 bounty on my own head in West Elizabeth (thanks a lot, Micah!), but it shouldn't be a problem, as I only had to step across the county line briefly. My first few attempts were all foiled by bounty hunters coming after me just as I was approaching my target. That would start a mission lock-down, and my target would disappear. I ran a couple of times, and stayed to fight (and die) twice. There were just too many of them. I decided to pay off the bounty and come back later. Went on to other stuff, and made enough money to pay off the bounty after a bit. I happened to be in Saint Denis when I decided to try again, so I took the train to Wallace Station instead of riding since it was so far away. Made it there only to discover that my horse did not follow. I tried camping and sleeping in hopes it would spawn nearby, but no luck. And for some reason, there is no stable within miles of this area. So I just went in on foot. I figured maybe she had a horse I could steal. She did not. I hog-tied her and started carrying her back to Valentine on foot. Let me tell you, it is a long, long trek! But maybe I would find a horse along the way. Hmm... where is everybody? I've been carrying this lady for MILES, and there's nobody around. I got about two-thirds of the way there, and finally someone comes by on a horse. Of course I shot him in the head to take his steed, but as soon as I do, I get the message: MISSION FAILED. YOU RECEIVED A BOUNTY. (Or something like that). Respawned, still without my horse, back near Wallace Station again. It was now about 3 am, but I was stubborn and stupid. Hog-tied her again, and ran her all the way back to Valentine on foot. Got a whole $25 for my effort, so I guess it was worth it, right? Arthur called it a night, and softly cried himself to sleep.

  37. This: "I mean wtf? RDR should not be a dang simulation. That's not fun at all and more frustrating than everything else." And this: "Are you kidding me? I don't have to gallop at full speed all the time? What is this? Real life? Isn't this a game? Isn't this a free sandbox open world GAME like Rockstar says? Isn't this supposed to be fun? Do I really have to consider how I play?!" Indicate to me that this game is not going to be for you. Its a feature, not a bug. The game's stylistic intent was to have a fair chunk (medium accepting, of course) of 'realism', 'historicity' and 'simulationism'. It has been designed primarily with a slow-play, role-playing approach. There will be things like horse grunts, walking slow, eating and cleaning and shaving, and the such like that I expect will grate on you. Not every game is for every person, and I suspect this game design isn't for you. Sorry Either adapt your mentality and game style if you really want to play this game, or return the game. Or just use the cheat codes and have it only as a rag-doll joke game. Hope it works out for you.

  39. I don't believe it's possible... I prefer manual painting, but my wife is playing too and she's not that great at it. I think people should have the option to do that. I researched it for about 20 minutes about half an hour ago, and it doesn't look like there's any way to change it back.

  40. I wouldn't say "outlaw", but I'm a big believer in the axiom, "work smarter, not harder". If people want to play the game blundering around like a bull in a china shop, be my guest--just don't come in here whining about how "unfair" the wanted system is when you get attention for standing over a dead body, rifling through the pockets like some Neanderthal. To be fair, I'm "White Hatting" this until I unlock the PS Trophy for "Maximum Goodness". After that, I'm going to turn into the biggest jackass this side of the Rio Grande.

  41. Not big on squashing dreams, but instead of begging for help from strangers. I would suggest going back and talking to your parents and discuss how doing something like this could help make you a better person by showing initiative. I would also set down and think about all of the reasons you feel this is a good idea. Go in with a plan not an argument.

  42. Old enough to kick ass and take names. Really, I don't know. He is aged but he isn't old. It will be interesting to see how his age is compared to John's. He was 38 when RDR starts out.
