Couldn't pass up the chance to drop this in here. Nah, bro, be glad Gun Media and Illfonic didn't make this game.3 points

The last 3 or 4 stagecoach missions i went on i just blew them up, was much easier. a well timed toss of the dynamite and boom, you got a busted up stage, dead guards, and dead horses to give you that red honor. you might be my thought was to throw him in the river downstream where it was deeper so he could learn to swim. What i liked doing was shooting lone horsemen at the river crossings then chasing their horse into the river and killing it to get the red honor, then watch them and see how far down stream they would float. Never did beat up the newspaper boy, shot him though, and he was selling papers the next day with his head and left eye wrapped in bandages. Tough kid.2 points

Reading comprehension. It's a "Cheapie Maghee mechanic"--nothing said about players who use them. The mechanics are cheap; I have no quarrel with players who use them as intended. If anything, I blame R* for putting that crap in the game to begin with. I used Fortnite as an example because (A) I hate that game--it flat out sucks, and is only popular because it's free to play. The graphics are trash, the mechanics are disgusting, and it's just a terrible experience. Shooters require balance, and Fortnite is about as balanced as a one-legged pirate with a glandular disorder; and (B) Fortnite is an easy comparison because of it's inherent and intentionally outlandish cartoonish style--an overt contrast to the care, realism, and attention to detail that permeate almost every aspect of RDR2. If they charged $39.99 or $59.99 for the PvP version of Fortnite NOBODY would play it. Instead, it's populated by preteens who don't have disposable income playing for free, and parents who just want to spend time with their kids. Put an economic gate to entry on that title, and it's about as popular as a wet fart in an elevator. I guess the point of all this is, I REALLY hate Fortnite. Probably because my kid wants to play it and won't shut up about it--all his friends play it, and talk about it, and do the idiotic ripoff dances during basketball practice--God, I hate that game. The GOAT? There's only one GOAT, and his name was Robert Paulson. What they should do is make it a scoring modifier for using free aim as opposed to AA. For example, playing PvP versus PvE mode of Survival on the Division adds in a 1.5x score multiplier at the end of the match. So for RDR2, you should be locked into your aim preference before the session starts, and from there, you have a scoring modifier applied to your XP gains if you use free aim as opposed to auto aim. Shoot, son, I can do that blindfolded with half a bottle of whiskey in my belly. A real neat trick is shooting hats off of them instead of pulling off headshots.2 points

Both of your statements are true, however if I were to switch to manual, my current status of “not being good” will decrease to “so bad he should’t bother playing” and honestly, I don’t want to start from scratch with learning it because ultimately auto aim works well enough for me and I’m lazy.2 points

Yea, but if it happens all the time it's not really a surprise.1 point

You guys just don't know what to talk about now, do you? This thread has gone through like 5 topics at this point lmfao1 point

I got from max honor to max dishonor easily by doing this. Slaughtering lots of civilians, especially women is key as is doing it in brutal fashion like pulling out your knife, tackling them and executing them with a throat slit. Killing lawmen isn't as effective. They're more for gaining XP.1 point

you can hunt all the legendary animals but the 3 in New Austin, I would strongly suggest hunting and getting the Legend of the east Satchel. Also start the legendary fish, you can catch all but 3 of them, the last 3 being in New Austin. There's the challenges - the gunslinger, bandit, herbalist, etc. I've been playing the game almost every night since it's release, and i've only made it into chapter 4, because i wanted to unlock that dead eye bonus. You have to unlock the horse fence in chapter 3 for a bandit challenge. Then there's the treasure hunts, Then finding all the rock carvings. then finding all the dinosaur bones (there's a few in New Austin), then just going out and exploring and seeing all the awesomeness that's in the game.1 point

Thats sucks, never had that happen to me. I only bought the game because of the promised story mode. ONline was fun for like 2 days.1 point

I would have just loved to been able to play the game. Everytime I tried, it would take forever to load in and someone would always dropout. So I would get sent back finding another group.1 point

Appreciate the responses, folks! Tadpole's suggestion definitely pointed me in the right direction. The first time I tried it, I got wayyy further than usual. I even got to a point where Micah got killed (which I had hoped would come with a reward or something 😉). During the escape though, the screen locked up. After a restart, thing continued to be buggy. After another 10 attempts and a bunch of trial and error, I figured it out. It's definitely a 'save file' issue, but what also helped (for some reason) was to complete some side tasks before returning to the mission. Specifically in my case, I rolled back to a fresh save (not an auto-save), skinned a deer, talked to the trapper, and saved someone from wolves before finally completing the mission. Hopefully this helps anyone else with the same issue. Love this game and I'm glad a little save glitch isn't gonna ruin things.1 point

I don't know what you're talking about. Friday the 13th is the pinnacle, the absolute top peak of gaming design. From the monotonous online game play to the STILL missing story mode, the best ever...lol1 point

they respawn. not sure what the timer is. I'd pick what i could find for the exotics and herbalist challenges, then go do a mission or 2 or hunt for a few days and they'd be back.1 point
-
You just have to wait a bit longer. Should only take a few days. Figured that out collecting the exotics. The plants would respawn before the birds would come back.1 point
-
I'm surprised they haven't added an option for us to bribe a witness.... I mean... we can buy gold! lol1 point

i've had this happen a few times. Exiting the game and a hard boot of the console fixed it for me. Always best to exit the game when you're done playing for the night or other extended periods.1 point

There's a barn in St. Denis with random horses. There's a post here somewhere about it. Not sure if you can get the White Arabian there. You can buy the other Arabians in the stables in chapter 4, not sure they'll be available in the prologue, i haven't made it through chapter 4 yet Attached picture of the barn location just north edge of St. Denis (at least i think that's where it is).1 point
-
Well it doesn't give anyone a free kill shot.. So what are you talking about? if someone dives infront of someone who doesn't heavily rely on auto aim OR uses Paint it Black. They would lucky to be able to get another shot off...because in most cases they would be dead.1 point
-
@ZachW stable won't save it... I thought the same thing and threw My Horse in there. Sadly, he didn't make it... I believe there is a farm somewhere that has a white Arabian spawn, but I'm not entirely sure about it. I think @Kormath had mentioned it?1 point
-
Referring back to the OP, he thinks he is the best because he uses auto-aim and claimed it takes more skill to use auto-aim then free aim. There really is no issue whether or not you use it. It's more of a matter claiming something that is completely off base.1 point
-
The whole point is to have fun. You guys do so by immersing yourself in the game making it more realistic with free aim. Others might not have so much fun if they couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a BB gun using free aim. That being said, I'm certainly no fan of those like the OP who think they are the GOAT especially when taking advantage of the game assisted tools.1 point
-
I think the problem isn't casual gamers with weak skills using auto aim, it's people who play all the time and use it to give them a distinct advantage. I don't think that being able to lock onto a persons head, every time, while looking backwards and riding a horse at top speed is accurate.1 point
-
This whole free aim vs auto aim debate is silly IMHO. There's a reason you can choose one or the other. Free aim is for those who want to challenge themselves and their gaming skills. Auto aim is for those who have less confidence in their gaming skills and want an overall more casual experience. Either choice is perfectly fine. You can't force others to play your style. BTW, I fall into the latter category.1 point

they do. but it's shorter distance to take the tracks. I ride beside the tracks on the gravel, riding on the tracks will slow you down a touch too.1 point
-
But you can just shoot the person the moment he dives on the ground. Besides people dive to avoiding being killed by 'auto aim' and break its lock ons. No matter how stupid and cheesy it looks... Auto Aim is worse.1 point

The whole session thing seems strongly depending on matchmaking based on your honor. At least according to observations we had within our (Socialclub) crew, which is a pretty organized one. Some of us where honorable and others dishonorable. Let's say you join a session with 100% honor. It is highly likely that 4 out of 6 active posses are honorable unlike to joining with low honor where it might be that 6 out of 6 are dishonorable. When joining a pretty honorable session, you'll end up with people greeting you, sending invites to posses and such. When joining to dishonorable session, you'll end up being shot in allot of instances.1 point

Red Dead Online allows players to enjoy the game with others and complete a variety of activities together thanks to posses, which are pretty much the game's clans or gangs. Every posse needs a camp, obviously, and players have quite a bit of control over the size of the camp they want to create, where to place it and so on. As camps are extremely important in Red Dead Online, even just to avoid having to deal with other belligerent players in Free Roam mode, learning everything there is to know about them is extremely important to make the best out of the online multiplayer mode. Camps Basics Camps can only be set by posse leaders. Inside each camp, the leader and all members of the posse can access the wardrobe, cook food and craft items. All members of the posse can also hide from groups of enemies if the camp has the white flag risen. To access the camps' flag, you just need to get close to it and inspect it using the Left Trigger button on Xbox One and the L2 Button on PlayStation 4. If the white flag is risen, other players will not be able to damage any of the camp's occupant. If the white flag is lowered, however, the red one will be risen, indicating that those in the camp are ready for combat. Flags in camps can also be changed in color. Doing so will cost $50 or 2 Gold Bars, which is definitely expensive, considering how hard it is to earn money in the game. Camps Sizes When creating a camp, you will be able to choose its size between small and large. The small camp can host up to four players, and it will require $1 a day for its upkeep. The large camp can host up to seven players, and it will require $2 a day for its upkeep. The camp's size only influences the number of players that it can host: facilities are the same in both small and large camps. Moving Camps Camps cannot be placed freely, but only in one of 12 different locations: Scarlett Meadows, Bayou Nwa, Big Valley, Cholla Springs, Cumberland Forest, Gaptooh Ridge, Great Plains, Grizzlies, Heartlands, Hennigan's Stead, Rio Bravo, Roanoke Ridge, and Tall Trees. Camps can also be moved to any of the 12 locations at any time while in Free Roam mode by paying a small fee. It costs $2 to move a small camp and $4 to move a large one. Camp Customization Once you have your camp set up and running, you can customize it with a theme which can be purchased by talking with Cripps, who acts as your dedicated assistant in Red Dead Online. Of all the themes, only the Standard theme is free, as the others can be unlocked by ranking up or by purchasing them. The Military Surplus Theme is unlocked at Rank 24, while the Traveling Opulence Theme is unlocked at Rank 38. The Hobo Life Theme is only available for purchase for $150. If you have purchased the Ultimate Edition, you can also use the Survivor Theme. This theme is currently exclusive to the Ultimate Edition, so it's not possible to unlock it in any way at the time. Camp Upgrades Like in the single-player story mode, it's possible to upgrade camps and enjoy some additional perks like improved cores restoration at camp and while in Free Roam. All upgrades need to be unlocked first by ranking up, which makes them available for purchase. The currently available upgrades are: Rank 15: Lean-To Tent - Refills Cores to 25% when entering Free Roam. Your Cores refill 50% faster when resting at Camp. Rank 22: A-Frame Tent - Refills to 35% when entering Free Roam, 75% faster at Camp. Rank 36: Tall Lean-To Tent - Refills to 45% when entering Free Roam, 100% at Camp. Rank 49: Open-Air Lean-To Tent - Refills Cores to 55% when entering Free Roam, 125% at Camp. Rank 55: Covered Lean-To Tent - Refills Cores to 65% when entering Free Roam, 150% at Camp. Rank 64: Covered Tent - Refills to 75% in Free Roam, 175% at Camp The final camp upgrade is the Fast Travel upgrade, unlocked at rank 65. Fast travel allows players to travel between 16 different travel points, including your camp, for a fee. The post Red Dead Online Camps Guide appeared first on RDR2.org. Read the full story1 point

I had no idea I could join more than one. Thanks for the information man! Knowing this will make it easier to pick and choose posses according to the times the leaders can be online.1 point

Unfortunately, I don't know anyone my age where I live that play video games, so I just chuck it up as ignorance. 😁1 point

I don't think it's a culture thing, it's more of some people wanting to make this into a battlefield 5/fps game. Some just cannot appreciate a multiplayer game that does not involve killing every other player they see. Older players like myself sometimes just like to slow down and appreciate all aspects of a game, seeing that there was a lot of time and energy placed into making it.1 point

Not zombies. I'd like more missions. There's still a time gap between games that they could fill. I'd also like to see the gang again... It's lonely out there now... Nice gamertag btw, made me crack up.1 point
-
No. The posse is not active when the leader is not online. You or the other posse members have to form your own persistent or temporary posse. Posse leaders can delete members to make room for new ones should they wish. You can be a member of multiple posses at the same time, just being active in one at a time.1 point

I have the initial tutorial, but the freeroam seemed available after just a few missions. You may not have went far enough yet, but should be close.1 point

I've completed RDR2 and it has firmly become my favourite game of all time. I have a tradition at Christmas that I buy a game before the Christmas day and play it on the day. My plan was to do this with RDR2, but after reading so many reviews I started playing it before Christmas day. I also bought Hitman 2 which ended up supposedly being my Christmas day game. However, because RDR2 is so amazing Hitman 2 remains unopened for 2 reasons first, I'm on my second playthrough of RDR2 and second I bought RDR. I've played RDR twice in the past and for some reason never got around to completing it. This time however, I wanted to play it to its conclusion because of how the story ties in with RDR2. For instance near the beginning of RDR when Marston confronts Bill Williamson outside Fort Mercer, Williamson was just some random character before I'd played RDR2 but this time he was the asshole I'd grown to know in RDR2. Also, learning that Javier and Dutch would be appearing in the game kept me rapt. The conversations with characters that tied in with RDR2 was also interesting. I've no idea when Hitman 2 will get a look in, but I suspect it's gonna be quite a while because I plan to get RDR Undead nightmare soon.1 point

Yeah, it finished very abruptly....product of network cancellation I guess! I liked the fact that it attempted to portray the west a bit more realistically....a lot of grime, greed and bad hygiene....but it also had some fantastic characters and it seemed to be building up to a action packed conclusion before the studio pulled a Sopranos on us! :-) Always a chance it could get revived though!1 point

I have. I felt it was short lived. I don't remember if it just ended or it was canceled. It was one of the only series I took interest in back then on HBO.1 point

I think the reason they wanted it as open as possible is to get all angles of testing done and out the way first. I think they will end up releasing more things for the game that are closer to what you mentioned OP in the coming weeks.1 point

I keep seeing this guy yelling for Gavin all over the map now. St. Denis, Rhodes, Strawberry, up in the forest near Butcher's Creek, etc. I've gotten so annoyed with him yelling and carrying on that now i kill him whenever i see him, except in St. Denis. Even went so far as to shoot him with an exploding rifle round, blew his leg off at the knee (when i hit him in the head, go figure) then wasted all my dynamite making him jump down the road. I felt better after that, but then when i rode back into St. Denis to sell my stuff at the Trapper there, guess who is there yelling for Gavin.1 point

Ditto. So sick of zombies, they've been way over killed, give us something else. Vampires, Weres, Aliens, whatever just no more zombies!1 point
-
Try saving the game in a new file right before you progress to the part you are getting stuck at. For some reasons, some people have had issues with corrupted save files and this usually fixes it.1 point
-
A reality in the sense of IRL like zombies killing us all? Or within the game? I am assuming you mean within the game lol I was fine with the first one but I am worn out on zombies. They'd have to give me something different to catch my interest. Maybe aliens or monsters.1 point
