They are still in beta so they aren't dying. Most gamers just aren't used to playing beta games since it is more common on PC. They will get over it and come back once the game is out of beta. I could put money on that.3 points

Hmmm Interesting concept. But no I think people of different play styles would like to enjoy the online part of the game be it a black hat or a white hat and hell even the ass hat. Its just that I usually don't hang with adults that beat up on children for fun like a level 150+ chasing around a level 20+ till they leave the lobby. That too me isn't fun. I agree with you on the bounty except that it is the fault of R* for not allowing invite only lobbies so that people can play with like minded players. It is not the fault of the people complaining that they are tired of having to play with people they don't like. And by the way I am 65 years old and not one who is used to receiving participation awards. That being said, I will be quitting playing solo and only be on when friends are on.2 points

Maybe I am alone here, but I don't mind being on a server with only a handful of people. I am able to explore, hunt, and so on without being bothered.2 points

Last update just made me feel like hanging hat up, Im losing much more than i can make now with the little in game content and constant glitches and ALERTS, this game is starting to turn into a joke on the net when it used to be the next big thing. Are you trying to make me leave? Because your not trying to make me stay.1 point

Who says that is all anyone wants to do? Perhaps we want to level up, hunt, fish, pick herbs and kill NPCsin free roam (without di*ks killing us mid animation or a millisecond after leaving a cutscene, or sniped when trying to go to the shop etc) so we have money and experience when we choose to enter structured PVP events such as showdown modes, or free roam missions, or other times when there is an actual reason to enter into combat with other players and everyone is in on the pending gunfight...1 point

Believe me. They have employees who are responsible for monitoring social media sites like Reddit, Twitter, fan forums, etc. and not just what is gathered on their feedback website. Many companies do this although not all will openly interact with consumers on them. They are also looking at gameplay data and other sources of information. .....but then they also have their own experience and goals in mind for the game that drive some of their decisions.1 point

Maybe that is the best way to drive the point home to R* is a mass exodus until they fix this s##t show. I know I am. TD2 is looking like a good place to land for me.1 point

I wonder... I see lots of complaints about the new update. But how many have offered suggestions on how to improve things through the Rockstar feedback site? I don’t mean having sent a message along the lines of ‘your update sux! You nerfed hunting and made a kill tax. I quit!’... but an actual suggestion on how you think the system should be changed or improved?1 point

Are we trying to make you leave? No, not that I know of. ....but then again RDR2.org is a fan site which isn't affiliated with R* or 2K. I think I told you this back in December when you accused R* of fraud, but if you want your opinion of R* or RDR2/RDO to be heard by them, I would suggest using their website: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892 Alternatively, if you want to hang your hat up in relation to the game, then hang your hat up.1 point

As for the despawing, my general rule is keep everything inside the mini map radius. Outside that and you risk andespawn... it’s been like this since day one for me. Nothing new1 point

These doors will be open in the Epilogue part 2, on your way by there, you should run into a women screaming for help, if you do, she will explain that her husband is in trouble and some men are trying to force him to sell or something, so if you accept her request to help her, then you rush there and find two men hassling her husband in the basement and you can save him, if you do, he thanks you and leaves looking for his wife, I looted the two men but didnt find anything unusual and there wasnt much of anything in the root cellar. I went here earlier with Arthur but everything was locked and nobody was around.1 point

Sorry this turned out so long, I love this freakin' game I found this MrBoss FTW video as well after my first two play throughs, so I decided on my third I would try it and just imagine that Arthur decided to stash it there, and tell John when handing him all his stuff, to go look for it when things cool down or something. I think passing along his money makes sense, so I dont think of it is a glitch or cheat, more of a choice. I chose to do a third and final play through because after the first run through to see the story unfold I missed most of everything else, I had no idea how to play an open world game, honestly so the second time, I just ran around looking at everything I missed but not in any order that made sense or lent to the story, so.... The third time, I decided to try to organically see everything while playing the story mode, doing the challenges, all stranger missions, chance encounters, etc.. the only thing I missed out on this final play through, was the final Strauss missions, and kicking him out of camp, the first time I did it as soon as it was available and everyone in camp was pissed at me, even my friends, so this time I thought, Ill save it til the end, well, turns out of you dont do it before the 3rd to the last mission you cant do it at all, I wish I had realized that, but oh well, it was just a little more honor and Arthur already had like 99% high honor in my play through so... Either way this time my game was great, very long and full, Arthur did all the hunting, gathering, survival stuff but none of the bandit, sharpshooter, or weapons expert stuff, I figured at one point in the story Arthur starts toward redemption, and it wasnt appropriate to have him doing bad things, whereas John will do all those bandit challenges that Arthur missed out on. Arthur did all the rock carvings, legendary fish, and animals, dino bones, dreamcatchers, cigarette cards, all the satchel upgrades and half of the challenges, and even two of the hunter requests and all of Algernon's exotic requests. John only has points of interests, shacks, easter eggs, like vampires, bigfoots, hermits, tree kings, etc.. to experience. Anyway to me, it felt great splitting these things up based on where in the story I was and what we were doing. The satchel upgrades in chapter 2 made the game a whole different experience for me, being able to load up 99 big game with creeping thyms, mint, and oregano made it so once you stocked up, you never had to hunt big game again, for the rest of the game. I had never gone to the Pig Farm in any play through's because I just never ended up near it or had a reason to go, I knew from videos what happened, but I didnt want to go force it just to see it, I figured if I am near it at some point and they invite me in or whatever, then Ill do it, so this time, I decided to do it just before the final two missions of chapter 6. It worked out great, I left $12,940.00 in there, so it was a good day for John when he takes that first ride and the music plays, instead of going to Blackwater we went to Lemoyne. It is one of the small things I thought given more time they might have done more with in the game, having a safe place for Arthurs money during the game, liek a safe deposit box in a bank, or a chest where he can leave stuff from his satchel, etc.. Anyway great find, I havent finished the epilogue this time yet so I dunno how it will all play out, but I assume making those payments will be a breeze now.1 point

I don't know about Xbox controllers, but on PlayStation controllers the analogue sticks are almost always the first thing to go start messing up. I've been through about 10 controllers between PS3 and PS4 and all but one of them had to be replaced because the analogue sticks stopped working right.1 point

Are you saying that wanting to level/gear up to kill other players is somehow different/better than wanting to level/gear up to kill npcs and animals? If so, maybe you are wrong. R* has big plans for this game, a lot of which might mirror what they did with GTA. The $$$ and levels could be used to buy properties, businesses , horses, vehicles and yes clothing to dress up our dolls. If you tell me you didn't spend money to dress up your varmint rifle and other guns I'd be shocked. There is so much more to this game than the run and gun. Some people fail to see that and are content with doing just that, which is fine. Others want more out of the game than auto aim and cut scene kills. I'm in agreement with you here, I wouldn't compare most griefers to the anti-christ. I find that they are more comparable to a red bull sipping ten year old that just was told no for the first time.1 point

I agree 100%. What many would call a "griefer", I have sub-categories to break it down even further into moral and immoral groupings. It's semantics for sure. Either way, you're right. This is more about how people envision this game should be played. Personally, I like the challenge and excitement of not knowing what another player may or may not do. Of course, not to the levels of what I would consider to be harassment. I believe this game should have acceptable levels of killing in free roam...for whatever the reason may be (for fun or sport, for preemptive strikes, to protect the area in which one has staked a claim, etc). The reason does not matter to me such as the reason in RL a deer does not care why a hunter hunts it. The deer just thinks about surviving. It is what it is. This game, to me, is to stay alive while obtaining the resources required to make me a better player. I am curious to all those people who claim they want a murder-free free roam. What are you trying to accomplish when you hunt, fish and pick herbs? You're gaining XP and $$$ for what reason? To dress up your Ken and Barbie dolls? Or, are you trying to become a stronger more powerful character in order to protect yourself from others that will try to kill you. There has to be a reason why you want to rank up other than just for the sake of ranking up. No? Maybe I'm wrong. And for the record, I don't believe most who would be considered to be griefers are the anti-Christ. They're not necessarily deranged individuals and psychopaths because they play this within the parameters of the game. This is a game people. Don't take it so seriously! Play it if you like....play something else if you don't like it. Life's too short to worry about this kind of stuff. I'll most likely play it either way and will simply adapt my game style to whatever the devs come up with.1 point

R* doesn't want you to be in PVE only mode earning money with no risk. They want you to buy Gold. And if you are grinding away in a Farmville mode, you most likely will not buy Gold and have a ton of cash. Why do you think they nerfed hunting?1 point

I must have missed the historic part of the battle of Wounded Knee when Custer was shot in the back of the head by a varmint rifle when exiting a cutscene.1 point

I'd tell ya but then I'd have to shoot ya. Seriously though, it's no secret. I personally like Big Valley but I also have success in areas like the plains of the Heartlands, etc. I usually just go to a spot and run back and forth over a distance that will allow animals to respawn.1 point

Ok... but still, after you kill them they’re easy enough to evade while they respawn, unless you’re a red dot constantly... have you considered maybe that they don’t suck as bad as they do, but are deliberately goading you into shooting them over and over until you rack up enough bounty to snap? Regardless, there is no reason you absolutely have to rack up massive bounties. But I still think if you’re shot at first, you should e exempt from Bounty and aggressive player status for defending yourself1 point

There are more than enough camp requests to get the related achievement/trophy. So if you don’t hit the prompt for Dutch’s pipe, it’s not a big problem.1 point

Hi Shelly and welcome to RDR2.org. First, I should mention that this site is not affiliated with Rockstar or 2K in any way. This is a fan site. If you are interested in providing feedback directly to R*, they have set up a website specifically for this purpose during the course of hte beta: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892 Of course, we hope you continue to share your opinions, feedback and experiences here as well but that link will give you access to R* Support.1 point

Even seasoned games still get big changes. Again, I state, other dedicated MMOs (no story mode, straight PC mmo) I've played have stayed in beta/alpha mode for a whole year before taking the beta tag off. Console gamers need to chill man. Also, horse bonding still resets but not as often. I do like that my horses don't come to me with red cores anymore. That's a start. Cuz if I tried to use my other horses, they all will start doing it. I'd have to stick to just one for it to not happen after awhile. And idk if it was people were too preoccupied. But people seemed more friendly and less trigger happy yesterday than before. There was a whole gathering of people in Valentine and blackwater just chilling and it was pretty cool.1 point
-
Well, considering the extensive changes they made yesterday to mechanics/dead eye/ability cards/ weapons, etc, BETA is probably still the best things to call it. Finished games don't get such sweeping changes all at once. I expect to see this a few more times before they remove the BETA tag from the game as they try to find the right way to balance things.1 point

Another idea is to let John do most of the treasure maps. It’s tempting to let Arthur do them, but he really doesn’t need a huge amount of cash (just weapons and one or two good horses, and many of those come for free).1 point
