  1. It use to happen every now and than, now it seems to happen way to often. Are players really that soft? It is truly pathetic. As far as you know I could have gotten to my level via shooting cops in St Denis or just by hunting. It is truly annoying that you get voted out immediately when you enter a lobby or when you get MVP or top 3 in a match. Why isn't there a veto option ? Why should I have to go back to free roam and try to find another lobby? If you are that much of a "kitty", maybe YOU should leave to find another lobby. I have voiced my opinion to R* several times already. This kicking feature shouldn't even be an option.

  2. 100% we want to be attacked when running stranger missions. Kinda dull otherwise. Most that do attack understand the game and when the mission is over they ride away. Easy breezy ! This game is a masterpiece that just needs a little cleaning up. Love the blip adjustments they have made to simplify it a lot. Reds could be red because they are defending themselves or simply ran in to npc on the trail and crashed horses. Most of your hostiles are low level and usually blue. Youngens will be Youngens !

  3. Yeah, the Spring update will have even more "anti-griefing" features that could help. Something else I should mention which I don't think gets touted enough is the RDR2 iOS / Android app. You can have this running while in game and see the big map without having to switch to it on your monitor. You can zoom out / in, see some potential threats before you would on your minimap, etc. It just provides an extra level of situational awareness. You can also use it while fishing since your minimap disappears during this activity but the app will still show what's around you.

  4. I got MVP in a Team Name Your Weapon. Right after game , I see my name pop up to be kicked. I was running regular Showdown at the time so it only take 6 votes. When I saw it at 5/6....I next saw that all to familiar screen. " You have been voted to be kicked". I like to run the regular showdown because I have a love/hate relationship with the Bow and Arrow match as well as the Throwing Knives. I hate them , but the payout is ridiculous if you score top 3. Especially this week. When you vote people to be kicked, it kicks them from the lobby completely , not the team. That is why if you want to be on same team, have everyone ready up to lock yourself in. Kicking feature is trash and needs to go. I'm only 208, I have seen 350s, 400s, and even a 503. Levels don't mean anything in this game. At least not to me.

  5. New players find an explosive new adventure when crossing the wrong players.

  6. I am finding many new players, lower ranked players, are starting off and experimenting and often are aggressive. So when you see blue blips, and they arent obvious until they are upon you, when they act aggressively it makes it tough, the whole point of blue vs red was to protect the blue non aggressive blips from the more aggressive red blips. I dont know why they arent upgraded to red as soon as they attack a few people, but it seems that many are not. The problem with this is you cant trust them, so I have been telling new players (I met a level 5 yesterday) how it works, but I had to add to my advice, "lately blue blips under level 25 have proven to be hostile, so be careful, when you see anyone approach you at speed especially just be prepared for a possible fight, have your weapons ready and if you have a mic use it, introduce yourself, ask them not to grief you, tell them what you are doing , I find this can diffuse a lot of situations, I know it stopped a few attacks in my case." It doesnt always work, but it does help. Also, any player can spend gold to buy their honor back, so a red blip can be a blue blip anytime they want for some gold in game. When I see three new players, a level 5, a 12 and a 14 hanging around a level 61 all in a posse and all around Rhodes lets say, I know enough to avoid the butcher in Rhodes for the time being. Its not that I cant dispatch 4 newer players I just would rather not lose my carcasses and stowed animals if I am in a grind for something, I will wait them out or go to another butcher, whereas if I see the same thing, 4 players, but over level 61, say a couple 125's and a 90 I know 90% of the time, they arent griefers, even if they are red blips, and getting to the butcher wont be a problem, so... take it for what it is, know your place and dont trust anyone 100% but new players the least, as they are unpredictable.

  7. Blue blips are red blips that haven't shot you yet. LOL Most red blips I run across just keep on going doing their own thing.

  8. This is where R*'s system is currently flawed. Players showing up as red blips could have gotten that way by only killing NPCs and could be completely harmless to you. Meanwhile, players showing up as blue blips can just as easily ride up to you and blow your head off. They just haven't done it enough to other players yet for the game to consider them as hostile. The moral of the story is to keep your guard up regardless of the color of the other players blips.

  9. AFAIK, there's nothing actually preventing Arthur from going into the southern portion of West Elizabeth and New Austin. Doing so results in bounty hunters hounding him at practically every second, but otherwise both areas are open for exploration beginning in Chapter 2. So if the player knows where the bones are, they shouldn't have any issues completing A Test of Faith as Arthur.

  10. Yeah, that is a bummer. I find the app extremely useful and quite frankly, feel naked playing without it. My old phone just happened to be on its last leg when I got came across a killer deal on a Moto Z3. I tried it again on that phone and it worked. I would never get a new phone just for a game. .....I don't blame you

  11. Lol. I am average at best. I might have a game were I do well but than next game do bad. I like the challenge of playing with people that are better than me. Just like in the gym if I decide to have a training partner, he has to be stronger than me. I want the challenge of getting on their level pound for pound. Working out with someone that is weaker than me will not push me or motivate me in the same way. Same with PVP. Pub stomping is cool and all, but it doesn't make you better at all.

  12. What can I tell you? I don't have any idea what devices folks have out there or what OS they are running. I do know that the app will require a more recent Android OS to run. It didn't work on my previous phone which was about 4 years old. I have no idea about IOS as ih ave no Apple devices. Try it. If it works on your device, then it works. If it doesn't, then it doesn't. .....pretty simple really.

  14. You are 100% correct, I hadnt looked very close, I bought the one "special" saddle you can buy early on in the game for $375.00 and never looked back, I hadnt thought to look back and I figured when I am further ahead and have some cash ill re-visit the saddles, well I forgot, so I went and looked and sure enough I was wrong, so thanks for that. I bought a new saddle that offered the best in drain rates and such until I unlock the level 93 or 94 saddle, I am level 75 so I bought the best one I can get until I unlock the ones at level 94 or whatever. Yes, you guys were correct, I hadnt looked carefully enough, but now that I have I bought a better saddle and stirrups, the best stirrups they had, and the best saddle that was available to me, in another 20 levels Ill buy the best saddle. I had been saving my money to max out my ability cards which all are maxed except for one that I rotate in and out, SB, it is tier 2 and headed to tier 3, all others are tier 3 and I have several, so the saddle thing was a cool break. I had added a card and wanted to max it out but because it wasnt a card I Was going to run all the time it was hard to upgrade it, I had to specifically work on it and thats what I was doing last night, until around 5 am this morning. As per the norm, the one saddle I really liked the look of wasnt the best in stats, the one that was best in stats wasnt my favorite in looks but the game is about advantages and preparation so I had to go with what the made the most sense for my character and his health.

  15. So you are being kicked plum out of the game mode ? We go in as posse and sometimes we will kick a player to get a member on same team but it always just moves the one kicked to the other team. Never out of the lobby. 100 % though folk get scured seeing high levels. 163 myself

  16. There is ton of wrong info being spewed on Youtube. A lot of people say there is no difference because the 2 best saddles are locked behind Gold Bars. But there is a difference. People that say otherwise truly don't know what they are talking about and just talking nonsense. Panther, Rattlesnake , and Beaver are the best. Panther paired with Black Arabian is one of the best combos in game.

  17. If you look at black Arabian stats and then again with panther saddle you will see the difference. I can ride almost all the way a cross the map and that horses cores barely move. It is the best in game mount available. Very fast , very responsive , turns on a dime and is just beautiful. Well worth the price ! Thanks @Ozy8753

  18. Thanks to all of you for your replies. I guess I will have to just keep my guard up at all times but it makes it a bit stressful. If I am honest, I can recover from being shot but they go for my horse deliberately and that does actually make me a bit angry. I know they are supposed to pay a damage fee but they don't seem to care. Thank you for the advice and hopefully RS will improve this all with the upcoming Spring update.

  19. Take a harder look at the stats - its not a matter of opinion, the special saddles are better than standard ones for regen and drain rates.

  20. Starting today, Red Dead Online Beta players on Xbox One can compete in Open Target Races, where you race on horseback to take down all the targets scattered across an open space, in any order you wish. Xbox players can also pick up the Jawbone Knife from the Fence, the double-breasted Hartman Jacket, the snake adorned Diamondback Hat, sleek cowhide Comstock Boots, vests, gloves, plus three emotes: I’m Hit!, Blow Kiss and Point. Also this week through May 6th, everyone in the Red Dead Online Beta can take advantage of 30% bonus RDO$ and Gold on all A Land of Opportunities Missions, all Free Roam Missions and Free Roam Events, all Showdown Modes including Gun Rush.

  21. Sure, as Kean said, in your weapon wheel you can find it as in the single player game on xbox you use the D pad, left and in there is a menu you go down to camp and select small or large, and so on. The thing is online doesnt let you make camp where you want, only within the region you want, I have managed to manipulate it a little to get it where I want it unless someone already has it, but there are pre determined camp locations in game, and thats it. Moving costs money so you try to minimize it if possible however I have spent the money at times because I wanted my camp close to where I was hunting/fishing and I like to use it to refill cores rather than eating so my character doesnt get too over weight and take on a core drain, online these are pretty severe compared to single player. Having camp close eliminated the need to deal with griefers while I was grinding. I hope that helps a little, I upgraded my camp to have the second to largest tent so my cores are 75% full when I join free roam automatically and when they get low it takes very little time to re charge them.

  23. The whole "griefer" term is subjective but once explained what it means to an individual, it's really moot point because then it's just a label they use to describe those they feel are ruining their fun. Either way, even R* essentially makes the correlation between griefers and those that indiscriminately kill. To me, anyone who willingly seeks out and kills another player without provocation is griefing to some extent. Engagements through missions, player assassinations and the like are a totally different story IMO as they are sanctioned events that carry no penalties. Those I wouldn't call griefers as they are basically invited to try and kill, stop or steal from the player(s) performing the mission. Those joining these types of missions should understand and expect that. You don't join a PvP event and expect that people won't try to kill you.

  24. Funny you say that, I dont see any benefit in saddles at all, I bought from the "Special saddles" list, which I think are the ones from single player that you unlocked through the trapper if I am not mistaken, I had the cougar one with the cool handle on it, or the snakeskin one also, I cant see any in there that are any better in stats, but to be honest I didnt really look very hard, as I was happy with the one I bought and figured it was like the single player portion of the game, you didnt need to build a saddle or upgrade one if you had one of the "special" saddles. Again if we disagree thats ok, lol we dont have to agree on things, you define a griefer differently than I do, that doesnt make it right, its just a difference. To me a griefer is anyone who goes out of their way to bring you grief, or ruin your time in game, anything at all, if you dont leave me alone, if you decide to engage me and I didnt invite it, your a griefer to me.

  25. Isn't blip colour just based on honour status? So you could have low honour (pink blip) from killing NPCs merely to access the low honour missions and have no intention of attacking any other players or you could have high honour (blue blip) from skinning animals and roam around intent on griefing other players. It doesn't take much skinning to get your honour back up. Either way, I treat all players the same, potentially hostile until they prove themselves otherwise. The only players I shoot on sight though are the ones that come running at me with a lasso in hand or continue to head towards me after I make several changes of direction.

  26. I have read elsewhere and recent experience seems to confirm that R* will arbitrarily "merge" lobbies together so that nice quiet part of the map you had carefully removed yourself to will suddenly randomly populate with all the usual loons and turn the area into a sh*t show. My normal (when I can be arsed to play these days) m.o is to fast travel from one side of the map to the other at game start for a bit of space. As of late, it seems like R*, don't want me to be out minding my own business and will within half an hour populate "my" side of the map with pewpew types. Duck hunting to maintain stocks of explosive ammo has become an almost daily requirement just to keep down the dirt that keeps turning up on my doorstep with ill intent these days.

  27. For the second week in a row Rockstar hasn't updated Red Dead Online with any new content. Instead, content previously exclusive to the PlayStation 4 as part of the timed exclusivity deal between Rockstar and Sony has been unlocked on Xbox One as well. Usually, going 2 weeks without new content isn't at all strange. Most games, even those which fall into the relatively new 'games-as-a-service' category get less frequent content updates. However, Red Dead Online had seemingly adopted the weekly DLC model that has been used in Grand Theft Auto Online for years now, setting up similar expectations. Xbox players now have access to the variant mode of Target Races which strips away the track. In Open Target Races, your goal is to shoot all the targets in any order you like within the arena, then dash to the finish line and be the first across. The exclusive weapons and emotes, including the Jawbone Knife or the Hartman Jacket. Additionally, all players can take the chance to rack up extra cash this week with a 30% bonus on RDO$ and Gold earned throughout all A Land Of Opportunities and Free Roam missions, Free Roam events and all Showdown Modes. Considering Rockstar themselves have laid out a roadmap for upcoming features, and players have been somewhat vocal about their dislike of the game in its current state, the lack of content - or information about content - seems strange. Red Dead Redemption 2 captured the hearts of fans and enjoyed universal praise, but it's been a bumpy road for the multiplayer mode. The negative feedback may be the root cause of this sudden drop in new content. Hopefully, Rockstar's developers are hard at work producing something that will turn the game's current perception around. A large content update which, beyond adding more gameplay opportunities, would implement the new features outlined officially would go a long way to generate some good PR. Keep an eye out for more Red Dead Online news. The post No New Red Dead Online Content, Timed Exclusives Available On Xbox appeared first on RDR2.org. Read the full story

  28. Seems to me your "griefers" are just low-level bored idiots, not really griefers at all. Like you say, you don't need explosive ammo to see that kind of player off so not sure why you're pinning so much to unlocking it? A true griefer, someone who makes it their mission to ruin other people's game, will be far more skilled and cunning than the kind you describe.

  29. My character cores and my horses core are drained/blacked out on random days when I log online. Food or tonic does not restore them. I have contacted Rockstar but they have been unable to help me. Has any one else had this problem?

  31. In general I haven't had too much of an issue finding herons. It's usually one or two at a time and not large groups, but I do see them frequently. Spoonbills on the other hand, is a completely different story.

  32. 'Nuff said. I'm partial to a bit of Dire Straits and Eagles. Mark Knopfler is brilliant with that guitar of his. 70's and 80's rock music for me, as well as a bit of 80's pop music. Modern Rap and such Not so much (at all)... What about you?

  33. I only have issues with the desperation act some guys put on for the girls who gobble it up. If you are a female who happens to enjoy gaming, good for you but don't turn it into the bachelorette with a bunch of underaged virgins.

  34. I decided to create a female character for the online but I am a 40-year-old straight male. very often I get friend requests or chat invitations from players I casually meet just because they think I'm a woman. I usually ignore and go ahead. but sometimes I agree to chat and in the deepest voice I can, i talk to them "hey man , how are you?" LOL
