There is already seperate PC section although it is in the Online menu for now but as time goes on, it will likely be moved and sub sections added along the way. https://www.rdr2.org/forums/forum/27-pc/ The thing is, I only saw one thread in this section that was specifically about PC. .....all of the other threads are inactive (just a couple threads down and you're already into Sept). I'm usually pretty good about moving PC- specific threads to their own section to where you really don't have to wade through a bunch of them to see relevant content. Thanks for bringing it up though as it is something that is being monitored.2 points

I don't mind the challenge. It would be dumb if it was easy. But some of the mechanics of defending your wagon on a trade route are really broken. First you can't cancel a trade run. If you notice there are a bunch of other players around who are going to rob you, you have no choice but to push on. The second issue is there are no risks or challenge to greifing traders. No bounty for murdering and stealing. I get slaughtered over and over, lose a large wagon of profit, and they recieve no bounty at all? No chance of some newly minted eager bounty hunters to ride to the rescue. And after the deed is done they simply just go into defensive mode right after so I can't retaliate. At the very least I should be able to get high bounty reward for killing them. And honestly the bounty for robbing a trader should be so high that they risk getting every player in the area on their tail. The chance of them making it to the trade drop of with my goods should be about the same chance of me catching up to them and getting my goods back. Would be robbers should have to think twice about stealing a trade wagon. Just my thoughts.1 point

I can see some differences. There is a lot more realism to the lighting and the darks and even deeper and more rich. Can't wait to see what it looks like on my PC though!1 point

We don't need the image of you wearing black briefs over gray pajamas, thank you. Nurse outfit sounds nice, though. 😋1 point

The wife will be putting on her student nurse outfit and I will be wearing my batman suit. Just like any other Thursday.1 point

Update: as of today, I can confirm that you can pre-load Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC. I’m currently installing the game. FYI, it is over 100GB.1 point

The 1660 TI outperforms in some games, see here: https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2019-04-15-gtx-1660-ti-vs-gtx-1070-7001 It's the better value option as well and being newer is also good. Like the article says, a 1070 is only a better choice if you find one under $220.1 point

I want to play a game as Elon Musk. Can Rockstar make this happen? I would love it. Huge clouds and cars that drive themselves while laughing at dead deer in pools. Perfection.1 point

Imagine if Gran Tourismo was too realistic. You’re racing along and get into a crash and your player avatar is seriously injured. But oops! Your medical insurance is out of date, so you go into huge debt paying medical bills out of pocket. But being injured, you can’t race and earn money to pay them, so each time you boot up the game, you’re met with a screen telling you you can’t play because you’re injured and to pay for your virtual medical bills, your console is deactivated and you can no longer play ANY games at all. All because you hit a wall playing Gran Tourismo.1 point

Totally agree! There are entire games that are sold based on that one game mode! (Rockstar, take notes) I've seen a few Maxim Wagons in Free roam, where people get them from bounties. They aren't as big a problem as you might think, as they are kinda impractical for hunting small, fast moving targets like people. And yeah, I don't think that a full blown Maxim won't be allowed, If it were, it'd have to give the player a massive Debuff like Heavily Slowing their movement speed (Along with the Armor Debuff), and maybe they would have to set it up in order to fire. Like the player would have deploy a tripod in order to fire. Yes, I understand that the Juggernaut would have to carry 150+ pounds (including armor) but I mean a game that lets you Chug a moonshine to take more bullets could probably let that slide. It was just an idea though.1 point

Now this i’d play... especially if you start in a drunk state, and after every opponent you down you have to go to the bar for another drink of whiskey before you can fight again... Maybe throw in some classic bar room one time use melee weapons (a bottle, chair... something that’ll do a little extra damage but gets destroyed in the hit)...1 point

Maybe there were workarounds for it then. I just watched other people stream what they were doing and got a kick out of it.1 point

Checking out R*'s webpage now, your pre-purchase just gets you 1 free PC title. So that got changed sometime when I pre-purchased and got 2 free games, and you pre-purchased and got 1 game. https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/pc1 point

Having had a blast with GTA mods, I can't wait to see what people can think up and create. I would be disappointed if R* decides to not allow mods. I mean, if they are offline only, I don't see the harm in allowing people to have some fun.1 point

I don't know about parts myself, my friend built my PC for me but from what I can understand the 7 is only slightly better but not worth the cost difference. When you get your PC all done, share the details and post some pics. I like seeing new builds even though I am still very new to it.1 point

Most gaming platforms like this don't allow it but from what I have read, you can do the reverse. You will be able to see all your states from Steam to Rockstar. They just likely won't be handled the other way around.1 point

Not sure, but as a guess I would say no. Let me explain. I purchased Grand Theft Auto 5 on Steam. I then received Grand Theft Auto San Andreas for free in the launcher. If I go to Steam and search for Grand Theft Auto San Andreas in the Steam store, nothing shows and I only have the opition to buy the game.1 point

I completely disagree. Griefing someone is harrasing a player when you have a strong advantage, be it in level, gear, or number of players. Whether intentional or not by the devs doesn't matter. The amount of time it takes to fill a whole cart with goods is quite a bit and whether you succeed or not shouldn't be decided on whether or not someone decides to rob you. There should be mechanics involved to negate that risk, like hiring bounty hunters or a delay in enemy respawn. Anything to make it a more fair playing field. You are right about a posse. But I've found no one wants to take the time to help a trader out as the rewards for them are not worth the time. Unfortunately. The mechanics are broken because one side takes all the risks while the other reaps all the profits causing gamers to only do local deliveries. If the devs intention was to create a scenario where players completely avoid doing a part of their game then they succeded.1 point

I think a cool option would be to allow traders to hire bounty hunters to escort them. Similar to the stranger missions.1 point
