Yep. You can see that it doesn't necessarily take a ton of force either. You can imagine a hand on the range being in several situations throughout their day where this might be a risk as they work. Just want to clarify something though..... He makes a point to show the firing pin on the hammer as a reason to leave a chamber empty which needs more explanation IMO. Their are modern day revolvers with firing pins like this but also have a firing pin block, rebound slide and/or other features that keep the pin from contacting the cartridge so you can safely load and carry the firearm with 6 in the cylinder. My S&W is like that. .....my single action Ruger Blackhawk on the other hand has a transfer bar (no pin on the hammer as it is in the frame).3 points

Well the thing is, those cards ruin both pvp and pve. Unbalanced as in, NO ONE should be able to take 10+ bullets and survive, be it from NPCs or other players. Its not just the cards that unbalance this game. Its also the tonics combined with ability cards. What you spend your time on is your choice. But since this game is public sessions ONLY with auto aim and pvp is a part of the game. Who you run into is a non issue. Many people do run into these players, I know I do. So its not like ignoring it makes it go away.3 points

Pearl handled , black steel , gold carvings. I gotta say though I've went back to dual sawn offs. If the enemy is close enough for hand guns I want to make sure they go down. Pib and dual sawn offs are Fricken unmatched. No tonics needed. 😀3 points

I do mine in blued steel with silver inlay... but no pictures handy3 points

I do love cap n ball. I visited a museum when I was in Tombstone called the Gunfighter Hall of Fame. Tons of classics.3 points

I shot full courses with two revolvers, a lever gun (in .45 colt for simplicity sake) and a 12 gauge side by side. I’m just in it for the fun. You probably won’t see me in any of the big money events lol. i sometimes use my cap and balls when I’m feeling in the mood. I often reload my .45s with black powder as well.3 points

Yep. I visited the actually site of the famous gunfight, just behind the OK Corral off of Allen Street. There is the Gunfighter Hall of Fame which houses many guns owned by outlaws. The movie guns and the cup from Val Kilmer in the movie Tombstone is on display there. They also have an excellent old west comedy show around the corner from the museum. In Tucson, there is a place called Old Tucson, a movie set that filmed many classic western movies.2 points

Oh wow you have been there. To Tombstone. Thanks for the info. I have been looking all these up. I watched this one too. You probably know all these but he did stuff on Tombstone too. 3 bullets in one only though2 points

Awesome video Lucy. I have been inside the Bird Cage Theater when I visited Tombstone. Just under a three hour drive from Phoenix. I believe that some black powder revolvers had a notch on the cylinder in an area that didn't mess with the revolver's timing. This allowed all cylinders to be loaded without the hammers firing pin resting on a cap. I could be wrong though.2 points

@Kean_1 yes in the vid they hit the hammer to show a knock could fire it off. Let me find the vid.2 points

... So... How 'bout that mystery voucher from the first Outlaw Pass? Any guesses what it could be? A free shack? A custom skin for the Navy revolver? a new fancy hat (or other article of clothing)? What type of horse(s) do you think we'll get this time around?2 points
-
for the knife u need to change them using the right and left pad , like if u switch kind of ammo2 points

Lots there, I'll start with this one. Not a glitch. You trade cash for speed. Someone fire bottled my large wagon. Had to hump 4 bags in on horseback, payout went from $625 to $400. Got there quick, but lost hundreds.2 points

Sure as hell was !! I was trying to climb trees and sh*t ! Dem bears Was hungry ! 😀2 points

Yep lots of good ones to choose from , I have my black Arabian named persius Lord of the marsh. 😀 just my honest opinion but none match his speed with the right saddle and stirrups and his maneuverability can't be touched. I've been bucked one time since I've had him. 2 grizzlys charging us. He lit out on me but I didn't blame him. 😀2 points

I'm pretty much the same as @The_Liquor - blued steel, silver inlay, pearl grip. Might as well look good while you're laying down some hurt! No pictures, sorry - haven't figured out how to make Xbox and laptop talk to one another.2 points
-
Interesting. I find the Breton a bit slower than the Arabian, and an awful lot less nimble. I use a Kladruber for collecting and hunting, often, as it's sturdy and doesn't trip, but I have never found the Arabian to be not tough enough and the pace and handling advantage it gives me offsets any skittishness, for me. Great that we have so many choices, though. (Mine is a male Black Arabian - he has to be as I have to call him 'Festive Jim'. I know.)2 points

Sounds like my preferred pair for cowboy action range days. I got two with 7 1/2 inch barrels. In .45 colt (I prefer the authenticity to the reduced recoil).2 points
-
If they put these in the game with actual muzzleloading animation, it will have a slower reload time then other revolvers. I currently carry two Colt 1873 Cavalry revolvers in Red Dead Online. They are the in game Cattleman revolvers with the long barrel upgrade. Mine are silver (nickle plated) with pearl grips, full engravings with gold inlays, gold triggers and hammers (gold plated), and rifiling in the barrels. For me, they are the best revolvers for my playing style.2 points
-
I saw a video and they hit the hammer and it did actually touch the round. Pew! no toes. As long as they don't have flying horses that lock onto you it's all fine by me2 points
-
Will this be a good gun? I only recently found out some Cowboys only loaded 5 bullets because the gun could go off in the holster 😮2 points

No, we are playing the exact same game, and every once in a blue moon I get frustrated with the same things you do (but not even a fraction of the amount of times you do by the sound of things)... But we’ve all heard it before and not one of us can do anything about it... So when are you going to just let people get excited about something coming without ‘telling it like it is’ yet again?1 point

Excellent. 😎 They were all tough as anything then. I would like to visit one day.1 point

Thanks for the info too. I like to know the history on all these things so this is new to me. These details. But it makes total sense and those guns could be hit easy doing work like you say. ðŸ¤1 point

Hey now, let's not let the whole world know!. Lol I'm noticing that many of you guy's love the blued steel. I have a thing for nickle plating. Here's what I'm thinking for the dual welded Lamat's. Nickel plating with pearl grips. Full engravings with black inlays. I love how they did the High Roller revolver. Then maybe I can do black hammers and triggers, actually I might just leave the hammers and triggers nickle plated.1 point

Sorry to get off topic from the OP, but when I get Red Dead Redemption on PC again, I can join your posse. I play GTA Online from time to time on the PC.1 point

No... it everything doesn’t have to turn into a bitch fest because a few people have issues with the way the game was made... Just saying, there is already a thread out there to whine about all this crap...1 point

I forgot about the mystery voucher. Now I'm even more excited. Thanks for the reminder @Moosh89..1 point

I'm on that understanding as well. But like Harlock1796 commented, I'm not far from the rank of the Hunting wagon and the other delivery wagon. I'm getting the Hunting wagon, but unless I get a large bump in XP, I'll stay with what I've got for awhile. I've been making a lot of money off of the Trader Role, but you wouldn't know it so far, lol, with having to take care of the overhead for this business. But everything is paying for itself quick, unlike businesses in other games.1 point

I've heard the whole "the Black Arabian is too skittish" thing from people who have never actually OWNED a Black Arabian. I'm like "how do you know, then" and the reply is "everybody says that". I guess that's how myths are formed indeed...! Glad you're having a great time with your buddy tho - I've had the very same experience, my trusted Black Arabian also almost never bucks me off unless I REALLY test his patience... and then it's my own fault for not taking quick enough care of whatever it is that's chasing us.1 point

To further expand on my previous statement, when it comes to black powder rounds like the .45 colt or .44 Russian (the types of ammo found in the games) there literally is only one loading... as much black powder as the case will hold with a bullet seated on top of it... If you wanted to load it down you needed some kind of filler to take up space, but that basically just gives you a slower weaker round than a full charge of powder. Leaving empty space in a black powder load... well... you won’t have that gun for very long at the least...1 point

I agree with @The_Liquor on the variations. Aside from possibly different choices of brand in a particular caliber, it's not likely you would find a variation of bullet types to choose from other than what he mentioned. .......and even so, it's doubtful those small shops in a lot of these towns would have a wide selection to choose from anyway. Just common calibers and likely one type / brand. Personally, I think we have too many types of ammo as it is in relation to Express, Explosive, Split Point, etc. I would rather they focused on creating different types of ammo based on the weapons and specific calibers rather than just generic pistol, rifle, repeating, etc. cartridges. While they were at it, get rid of the explosive ammo, increase the overall lethality and then tweak the balance of the weapons, tone down auto aim, make reloading more realistic / slower for each type of weapon, etc. I also think ammo is simply too abundant (once a player unlocks all types) and players shouldn't be able to carry all of their weapons on their horses. From the beginning I always thought players should have to go to there camp or some other location to swap out what weapons they carry on their horse. There should be a limit IMO. .....and to take it a bit farther, a stamina hit on their horse by carrying more. .....even further, a weight system where weapon weight factors into the equation. This could also be a variable in the balancing of guns in the game and add to the pros and cons of each. The one thing I never really liked in R* games was the gunplay and lethality (or lack thereof). The worlds are rich in detail and even realism in some respects but the gunplay is arcadey at best. .....which is why I don't mind the auto aim the way it is now and accept it for what it is. If the gunplay / weapons /ammo and lethality were changed, that would be a different story entirely. ......but yeah, I'd rather they work on those other aspects than add some new kind of bullet type that only breaks the immersion even further for me.1 point

I’m not 100% sure, but For some reason I think you have to buy the medium wagon before you buy the large wagon... I don’t think you can skip it over1 point

I'm not saying I don't run into them. I do and it s!@#ks. I just figure I have the option to just mozy on my way. If they give chase which most don't, My horse is fast enough to get out of Dodge, change my card load out, and match them. I keep my level 3 tonics and seasoned big game meat along side my 40 explosive rounds for just such an occasion.1 point

I was pure springfield but bounty hunter gave bolt action $350 paintjob... and stats are quite similar. Now that I'm a high level it seems more prudent to have a quick firing repeater with explosive ammunition in very volatile sitiations... For gators.. poison arrows. Head-shots should give you perfect kills but I think its more random now. It seemed like all you had to do was make some effort to move it off auto-aim before.. but now its a little tougher.. wanting head-shots mostly. Unless doing a daily I dont even make an effort to get a perfect pelt.. unless its a cougar or panther... If I run across a herd I pull out my empty wagon.. fill it and end it away... trying to keep it empty... If wolves attack.. you want an empty wagon. I most always have my arrows equipped on dynamite and have the bolt action with the paintjob... (what happened to all my leather paddings.. hmm). Dynamite arrows work great against griefers... and even when I briefly experimented with passive mode... Dynamite arrows were easy to kill without auto aim... I disengaged nazar and a warning shot with my name on it appeared.. so I shot him and his friend with dynamite arrows... and their donkeys also... Warning shots.. sound ominous.. now I realize he was being nice... oh well. Dynamite arrows are not as fun as the fiery shotgun shells... but they are great against griefers.1 point

Your options as far as bullets would likely have been various Calibers of round nose or flat nose lead slugs. Maybe some early copper jacketed bullets in the bigger rifles... there may have been some different loadings (express, high velocity) with the early days of smokeless powder. Honestly, walk into a gun store and check out the various modern ammunition types a available (you’ll likely see they are just slightly different variations of the same handful of basic bullet designs with the factory advertising trying to convince you that their hollow points are better than the other guys). Now, take 120 years of research, development and improvements out of the picture and you’ll have a good idea what you would have found in the gunsmith store of the RDR days. there really wasn’t much at the time beyond various calibers of slightly different shaped lead hunks... and different sized shot for your shotguns...1 point

Nothing like the classics!. You do any three gun lever action with revolvers?1 point

I think the limit is 10 but I could be wrong. I have not really messed around with posses yet since there were a lot of issues with them being sorted out still.1 point

Have to buy the Trader role first. Then go to your camp & access the wilderness outfitters. Select equipment & here you can buy the stew pot for $650.00. Then you can make superior stew with big game meat. It take 3 big game meat to make the stew.1 point

Fact is, parents need to be more responsible and involved in what their children watch especially in this day and age of the internet. It's a lot different than it was when I was a kid watching Saturday morning cartoons. .....no cable, no internet, etc. Children will never be completely safe but it's our responsibility as parents to prevent things like you describe from happening which to be quite honest is completely preventable on our end. The problem is, some parents simply aren't as involved as they should be in regard to what their children do on the internet, watch on YT, cable programming, social media, etc.1 point

Quite honestly, I never could get into the old Online. The current version is much more immersive to me. And yes, I do agree it would be a little better without ability cards and explosive ammo (or at least make explosive ammo so difficult to make you can ever really only get a small handful at a time). But I won’t go as far as to say it’s unbalanced... Just a little too over the top. Personally I’d he happy with a pocket full of plain old lead bullets and the ability to kill or be killed by a well placed shot by anyone... But I’ll take it as it is when it means I can make my customized character and carve out my own little immersive fake outlaw life in the old west.1 point
