The game has been extra buggy and filled with hackers this week (I play on PC). Several times this week, I've been pulled away from whatever I was doing and spawned into a random spot on the map, along with half a dozen other players, and blown up with dynamite. A few times I've been riding along and spontaneously combust, get tossed into the air multiple times and the death screen says I killed myself by "falling". This morning, a player spawned right next to me and started shooting. I respawned, shot him several times in the head and didn't hurt him at all. He disappeared & I thought he left the server, but 15 minutes later he does the same thing. He had apparently pulled another player into the same spot and was fighting him, so I sniped him with the rolling block (I accidentally killed the player he was fighting. Kinda felt bad about that). I know I got several headshots on him, but his apparent godmode saved him again, so I said screw it and logged off for a while. None of these events really bother me all that much (the godmode does a bit, because I had no chance of fighting back), but it seems to be happening more & more. This is the first R* game I've played, but I've heard about some crazy things that happen in GTA, and it's obvious the same is happening to RDO. As for the bugs, they have all been with the camp. I always choose the camp option when entering free roam, and it's nearly always spawned correctly, but I don't think it's worked but a few times this week. Of course, I can pay $2 to pitch it, but having to do that every time I log in pisses me off. I've even spawned into other players camps a few times. A few times, I've spawned into my camp, only to have Cripps pack it up a few minutes later and force me to pay to pitch it again. Always nice to see Cripps just wander off into the woods. The camp doesn't disappear, but I can't interact with anything until I spend $2 to reset it. Of course, it gets pitched in another location, as well. This morning I spawned into my own camp. Everything seemed fine, so I rode off to complete the daily Trader missions, but when I went back to camp, it was nowhere to be seen. The map icon was there, and the menu said it was up, but it apparently had a cloaking device. I haven't played much of the story mode, so I think I'll play that out for now. As for online, I'm only going to do a daily or two to keep my streak going. I might stick to collecting, too. Don't need a camp for that and I can make some cash until R* gets the bugs sorted. I may be a millionaire before that happens, though. Sorry for the long rant. I know most of you have put up with bugs for a lot longer than I have. If you read it, I'd love to hear any thoughts on bugs & hacking.3 points

Which is why I will never play an online game on PC unless it's co-op PvE like Diablo.3 points

Not sure how it works on PS4. But on XBOX, if your main account has xbox gold, any account you log on with has access to xbox gold. So you can make a bunch of accounts, log in, create new characters. So ended up making a bunch of accounts. Mostly for role playing purposes/character type play. Some I play as bad, good... or just trolling. For example. I got a really chubby girl. I ride up to people or play co-op missions. But I don't shoot them or shoot anything, I just eat tons of food standing next them. Or ride into camps and ask people "invite to posse for stew plz" I got a Native American character, A hot girl, Sweating Inbred Hilly Billy.. If you're bored, try it out.2 points

I’ve been asking that very question since day 1 as well.....Everything is there, the fire and all - just the trapper is missing. The only thing I can think of is because he’s our competitor in the trader role; though again we ask - why are they even there? Hopefully we will find out soon, as well as hoped getting a larger hunting wagon.2 points

I have literally seen alligators disappear from right in front of me once the player count hit 162 points

Agreed..... Right, wrong or indifferent, randoms interacting with you during deliveries, player bounties, etc. are simply playing the game as designed. That's not griefing. ......indiscriminate killing and harassing of other players while not participating in those kinds of missions is.1 point

Players coming after you while you’re in a mission isn’t greifing - that’s playing the game and that’s why the option is there, it shows you when someone has started a mission: it is the old west and there are outlaws. Your new policy of shoot first is the absolute way to go about it, again that’s part of the game1 point

Howdy doc ! Your not alone in these issues. Day 1 beta player on ps4 and I can tell ya Its extremely broken right now. There was a parlay glitch that would allow players to remain ghosted but could kill you ! There was no defence against this exept jump server. I highly recommend getting yourself imursed in story mode untill they make drastic changes. Its worth your time trust me. Happy trailes partner ! Enjoy your game time.1 point

I haven't had TV service September, so I couldn't watch it if I wanted to regardless of what day it's aired. Not that I'd want to, mind you. Those overpaid, entitled buttplugs have ruined it all with their political crap. No one watches football for politics and to hear some hypocrite with a seven-figure salary bitch about inequality.1 point

Lol and I also have said the ability to set a temp camp, just a fire and the bedroll off the horse and depending on the bedroll you have is how fast your cores replenish. I also agree about the bath and I wish we could get meals at the bars too and we should also be able to rent a hoo’er too. 😂😂😂1 point

Now I know, why all animals are vanished! They smell us from miles 😝. Haven't taken a shower for ~ 14 month now😝 I suggest a bit more day to day human approach: (mixed) bathing facilities and not just wash my face at Cripps 🤣 Restaurant, glass of wine iso the daily (canned) junkfood and beer/whiskey (You can arrange a good fight in a restaurant 🤣🤣😁) Set up small camp anywhere/take a short nap for refill stamina etc. (getting tired running/fighting)1 point

That's where I caught the legendary bluegill, so I thought there would be more bluegill there. But the vast majority of the fish I caught were not bluegill.1 point

Yeah having a boat is handy. I would have made the same choice if it came down to those two choices. That is one aspect of the game that impressed me. It lets you play certain things how you want, according to your play style.1 point

Heard back from support, they told me I could fix the problem by reloading Steam (I don't play through Steam or mentioned Steam at all) Um....... I just can't make this stuff up!1 point

Dude - thanks for the laugh!!!!!!! I literally laughed so hard I choked at the “invite to posse for stew please” with the chubby chick ...😂😂😂😂1 point

...This game I got into a solo session last night by pure luck. Everything works perfectly. Camp worked, Bounty Boards worked, animals everywhere, gang hide outs and random stranger events everywhere. About 45 mins later, I noticed things started to act wonky, clunky and less animals.. I instantly Checked the player count. FULL! I mumbled **** IT and instantly shut my game down. Wonder how long R* expects players to put up with this crap....1 point

You really gotta start recording this stuff man. I am laughing just picturing it in my head. LOL The fact that you had to pay on top of this sold it for me.1 point

You need the Wallingford hat, it sucks you have to buy the outfit just for the hat, but it’s the closest looking one to the one that Kilmer wears in Tombstone as Holliday1 point

Maybe it's to help (some) colour blind people? I know some games have been trying to keep them in mind lately. Blue and red might contrast well enough that it's less of a problem. Though the pink and red thing might not be much use!1 point

OMG F-ME.... They f'ing hate us and are 100% not listening... in fact, at this point it feels like a troll job They upped the player count in servers!!! The max number of players I have ever seen in a session is 24. After downloading today's update, I login and am in a server with 26 people... curious, I stayed in the player menu to see how high it would go. As soon as it hit 30, my system had a hard crash and I was booted to the main title screen. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! F U ROCKSTAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone know where their offices are AT?? I want to beat one of them to within an inch of their life... revive them... and DO IT AGAIN!!! OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!! at least until they fix the game of course1 point

Right now the amounts of frustration have surpassed every tiny idea of fun in this game as i see on twitter, forums etc. I'm so very glad i'm logging for about 5-10 mins maximum just for a few challenges every day and saving myself from this. Seriously rockstar should be ashamed of this monstrosity. I tried to support them a lot in the past knowing that it's still "early" for fixes and stuff by encouraging people to open tickets, trying to put suggestions, bug reports and all these cute things but they're clowns and i see the same repeating story as red dead 1 multiplayer of 2012. Just sad.1 point

I was riding into Valentine last night, to visit the stable to buy a horse, was riding pretty quickly and had no players visible on the radar, then suddenly just before I get there a player shoots me dead in one shot. Bolt action rifle to the head, apparently. Didn't see who it was, where they were, had no weapons drawn, none of it. I just respawned and went and bought my horse but I do wonder what they get out of it. It ought, imho, to mobilise law and trigger a hefty bounty, but crime is almost unpunished in the land of RDR.1 point

Hello, I hope I can find some other players here who share my favourite style of playing RDRO. I like to enjoy the atmosphere of the game, wich means that Im not in a rush all the time. Of course in missions you need to hurry sometimes, but in between there may be a bit of roleplay and "feeling" for me. Im lowlevel atm, but I have some experience with the game already. Levelling up and earning exp and money is not my first priority. I like to be in my role as my character, I like missions and hunting, but I dont like pvp much. I would like to find a friendly posse. Timezone is Europe. My gamertag is Mary-Anne-89. See you ingame, maybe...?1 point

First, I’m not sure you can call the games time period the Wild West anymore. There were some Wild West holdouts trying to cling to life the way they knew it (like the Vanderlin gang), but things were already transitioning towards a settled west. Putting that aside, even the Killers of the Wild West mostly had some kind of motive for killing people. Even the biggest baddest outlaws ever invented by Hollywood. Be it robbery, fighting off law enforcement or vigilante gangs or the like. I don’t think many people just stood on the street, randomly murdering people on their way out of the general store. If they did, I doubt they would be very successful, since they’d likely be gunned down in the street, or immediately captured, tried and hung by the neck until dead. All that being said, I like the direction the OP is going with the risk/reward system. I don’t mind the violence per say. I just hate how people do it for no reason and little to no risk. If there was some kind of motivation/reward to be gained from shooting me, maybe loot some items and cash out of my sachel or something, and there was some kind of actual risk, like perhaps a real (significant) bounty gets placed on you that could be collected by other players when they eventually hunt you down.. the key is balancing the benifits gained from the murder with the risk you take by participating in the activity. Sure, you can make a grand or two killing people and taking their stuff, but if you don’t survive a real life few days after your last killing, you have to pay a good portion that back if the bounty hunter that gets you brings your corps to the sheriffs... Now if you spent that money your account goes negative and you have to live rough until you make it back (or buy gold bars?) your mugshot from the beginning of the game and your name can be used in wanted posters that go up in sessions you join (let’s not make it too easy with a big red blip seen across the map and your bounty value). Perhaps collecting the posters can give some aid in tracking you down (last seen in Lamoyne or wherever you spawned in) with some clues showing where your wandering as you move about the map). If you have a bounty and collect someone else’s bounty, maybe get some good guy points to bring your value or time down a little... I don’t know. What we have now doesn’t really work for me, but it was better than the random free for all the game started with. I just want some kind of balance risk/reward system that actually works in the free roam PvP. Something that can make it fun and challenging and potentially rewarding whatever side you choose to be on.1 point
