Yeah. There's a lot of news coming in about closed door reveals. I'm sure they are going to drop a lot of stuff on us soon.

I tend to revisit campaigns at least one more time when there is a lul between game releases. Did it with RDR, GTA V, TLOU, Witcher 3, BG series, Mafia III, Watch Dogs series, XCOM series, GRW and many others. However, there are few in that long list that I will actually finish all the way to the end after already doing it once. Usually, a new title will release by then or I will get bored. What I really value in an SP game are things like dynamic side missions, a mission generator / editor or other components like that which provide meaningful replay value. In GTAV, I spent a lot of time on a solo server just plating missions that I could do myself. .....even did/do the same thing in public forums using a trick to isolate myself on the server. That in itself game provided me with many hours of fun. I hope I can do something similar in RDR2. I do know that I will spend a lot of time with friends in this game as well.

The controllers were cheap though. They broke a couple times on me until we finally couldn't fix them. My Dad may still have thing hanging around in his garage somewhere. I think my Intellivision is in my home office with my C64. .....which reminds me that I really need to clean out that closet.

I had one of those. My friend did too but he had the voice synthesizer add on. This was my first console system:

.....or even at the half century mark like me.

You really need to visit that title. Talk about a bridge between gaming and cinema. You want to talk about storytelling? .......TLOU has it in spades. It's worth it IMO.

I agree but you have to admit that the stigma surrounding gaming as an adult is nowhere near where it was in the 80's and 90's. It's accepted way more now than it ever was. Many adults used to be embarrassed to even buy games back in those days. ......"yeah, it's for my son".

Honestly, in my own opinion, although both may share some obvious similarities in mechanics, etc., I still think each game will offer enough of a difference in the gameplay experience to be judged on their own merits. I really don't anticipate RDR2 to simply be a GTAV set in another era. I do believe R* is smart enough to create a separate experience for players that perhaps uses some mechanics from GTAV but still has its own distinct feel. I even predict that the online portion of RDR2 will be quite a bit different than GTAV. Even if some people didn't like GTAV, I don't think that is a reason they will not like RDR2. There are fans of RDR that never liked GTA. Misconceptions might be a reason though.

I was interested initially but I think I'll pass. With all the drama with inclusiveness, etc. instead of a focus on the gameplay itself, I'm just not interested. I'm also not happy with yet another WW2 theme or the solo experience. I really liked BF2 and the Bad Company titles. .....even BF2142 was loads of fun online. Anyhow, I'll probably pick up BFV on sale sometime down the road.

Not sure about religion but using that as an example, there are also religious people who are not judgemental or really care what others do in their life. They think that it's their business and their free choice. What matters is what they do themselves. I'm a car enthusiast and some have even looked at me funny when I'm cleaning or detailing my vehicles in my garage. I've heard all the jokes over the years from neighbors, etc. ......"once you're done cleaning that one, I've got another one for you over here." It was all casual ribbing as most had a respect for how great they looked. I see no sense going the bar to watch a ball game, getting dressed up in team colors/uniforms, screaming at players on the TV that will never hear you, etc. but I understand that is their thing that they're into. ....some people like gaming, some don't. I've been a gamer since the 70s so it's kinda in my blood.

Normally, I would say that I prefer to play the campaign first and then online. .....and I did for this poll. However, this time around I have a couple of good PSN friends (and some from here) that might cause me to rethink this trend. Who knows.... I could still play the campaign on my own time and go online with friends. EIther way, I am definitely going to spend a lot of "me" time in the campaign. ......sure wish we could do co-op as well though.

They have many of the same titles as Netflix and then of course their own "originals" to set them apart. As for the shipping, yeah, I order a lot from them throughout the year and nearly all of them are shipped using their 2-day and sometimes 1-day Prime shipping for "free".
-
Yeah. That's a bummer. Luckily it doesn't affect me so much as I nearly always buy digital these days. ....but it seems like my Prime membership get me less and less each year. I do take full advantage of it for deliveries and their video service though.

Please feel free to join the PSN Community "Red Dead Redemption 2 - TeamUp" to help make it easier for all of us to invite players to a session, make new friends, ask questions of one another, etc. This isn't a clan with ranks, structure or anything like that. This group is intended simply as a resource for all of us to use to TeamUp with like-minded folks when RDR2 finally arrives. ...enjoy.

Yeah, the new one has some heft to it which (I think) helps. The DS3 just feels cheap and too small for me now. The DS3 caught it's fair share of criticism and I always thought deservedly so. ....but the DS4 can no longer (IMO) be considered inferior to XB, etc. being more a matter of preference now. Having said that, I lived with the DS3 for years and never really had a problem with it to the point of being irritating but after using the DS4, it's disappointing to say the least when picking up the DS3. ......we still use the PS3 in our bedroom upstairs for Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. Of course, this is all just my own opinion of the two.
-
I'm surprised. That was one of the big things Sony got kudos for when the PS4 released.
-
Visually the differences appear subtle but once I got one in my hands it was apparent that they were a lot of new design features and a clear focus on ergonomics this time around. In what way is it different? It's heavier (in a good way), it has the headphone jack, it's wider (the DS3 felt cramped by comparison), the triggers are longer with a better feeling contour, the grips are longer and angled/shaped differently to make it more comfortable, etc. Overall, the DS4 simply makes the DS3 feel awkward to me now. Characteristics that may look relatively subtle at first glance are actually a major difference when in use IMO.

Could be PvZ (players vs. Zombie AI). That might encourage folks to play together against Z hordes, etc. .....or more likely make for creative ways to people to kill each other, use them as bait, a distraction as you try to get away, etc.
-
I'm all zombied out but the first one was kinda fun. Given how much better RDR2 is expected to be, I'd be up for another Z experience. ....especially online with friends. I just hope it would be released later down the road though if they do something like this so it doesn't take away from the core experience. I really want to spend time with the main game first.

I was thinking of replaying my copy of RDR1 but then again I remembered it was on my PS3 and after using the DS4 controller, I simply can't go back to that old one. I was really hoping they would have re-released RDR1 on the PS4 before RDR2. I certainly would have bought it.
