  1. Yeah, I don't see R* releasing any kind of separate DLC for RDO. That wouldn't fit their model. Maybe as a story mission of sorts or a special event for all during Halloween? I enjoyed Undead Nightmare in RDR1.
  2. I really enjoyed them myself as well and look fwd to the more difficult ones.
  3. You're just talking about PvP events that are missing then, not other R* games as in titles, etc.? Sorry, I guess I'm just having a difficult time understanding your posts. I also thought you were referring to RDO in general. I don't play the PvP modes myself so you've got me at a disadvantage there. As for your interpretation of what gambling should have been like in this game, you obviously had your own specific expectations of how that should have been implemented. Again, if you feel so strongly about these things lacking in the game I'd strongly suggest you provide your feed back as well through the R* website I left a link to. R* does take that feedback serious and if enough people feel as strongly as you do about it, who knows, maybe they'll bring those PvP modes back, etc.
  4. Yes. R* Support told me that there are have quite a few reporting the same problem and it has been escalated to R*. I don;t know if it's on their list of "known" issues they are working on but if not, I'm sure it will soon be. R* also pushed an update today and likely been working on problems that can be addressed on their own end.
  5. I wouldn't mind a zombie event in free roam if that's the case.
  6. That too.... Either way, seems R* pushed an update today if you look at McLaw's post in this forum. They've also been working behind the scenes on one's related to their servers (since those don't need to be downloaded by us). In my case, my disconnect issues never returned after that first day since the new update.
  7. Glad to see you came back to the game and found a renewed interest @James Hickok_1837. I'm digging the new update as well.
  8. Thanks for posting this @McLawDiz. I would imaging R* has been busy implementing patches as well that affect their servers and then we have ones like these that have to be pushed to the players to update our files. This is exactly what Support had told me they were going to be doing. Let's hope this update solves most problems. Some of my issues had already gone away even before this.
  9. You mean "with radar", right? Most online console games have some form of minimap plus targeting. Exceptions might be hardcore tactical shooters, hardcore survival, etc. R* games are sort of unique for their open worlds and freedom for players to essentially do as they like (e.g. explore, run businesses, fool around, interact with other players, etc.). The fact is, without the minimap or radar (or even without auto aim, the cover system, etc.) you're game is only going to appeal to a niche audience that is into a hardcore experience. Unless they create a seperate hardcore mode for players, I doubt you will see anything like that in RDO. Either way, they have made improvements to the radar especially when they went with a proximity based system rather than the GTA-like radar that shows everyone on the map. Huge improvement in helping with griefers by not showing where everyone is at but also giving players a heads-up when other players are near. I'm not sure what to say..... It sounds like you bought a game that simply wasn't for you. I bought RDR2 for the campaign. I played the hell out of RDR1 so it was a no-brainer that I would buy RDR2. I had no idea how RDO would be so I never had any high hopes that it would provide the kind of online experience I wanted. .....but I was pleasantly surprised. RDR1 had radar. I recall there was a hardcore survival, old west themed game called "Outlaws of the Old West" for PC that was in development. To be honest, you're more likely to find what you want on that platform than you will on XB1 or PS4. I love a good hardcore gaming experience myself. I play DayZ (HC survival game) and I can't wait for Insurgency Sandstorm to release on PS4. .....the latter is an HC tactical shooter with no enemy markings, radar, high lethality, etc. Good stuff....
  10. @THE_MAD_CLAW, You've already got a thread in the recruitment sub forum where something like this would belong. There are plenty of threads / posses in that other forum looking for people to recruit that you can respond to or you can wait until someone answers your call. Thanks.
  11. There are several common bugs right now but luckily, it seems they are aware of the ones that folks have been complaining about. I doubt it will take months to resolve most of these especially the ones on their end.
  12. I kinda dig this legendary bounty thing. I'm still working my way up but these new roles should give me plenty of stuff to do for a while.

  14. I dunno..... The increase in animations speed, movement, etc. was minimal IMO / IME. ....although I would have preferred them to actually slow releads way down rather than speed them up given just how ridiculously fast they were to begin with. .....nothing real about that. Either way, R* games always had an arcadey feel to them in relation to their gunplay and character control. However, they create really immersive worlds which is what their draw is to me. No radar in a tactical shooter makes sense to me. ......not in a game like this though. At least not without a lot of other changes including no auto aim, realistic reloads, ammo and weapon management, etc. Having said that, I would love to see a hardcore mode with these elements in it. If I can find the article about R*s decision to go with a "one mode" option, I'll post a link. They really wanted to crate an online game mode for all rather than splitting up players. Fact is, not everyone is going to like everything they do with it and some will likely never be happy regardless. IMO, RDR2 is nowhere near the same gameplay experience GTAO is due to it's pacing and other aspects and none of the changes they've made make me feel that their intention is to draw RDO toward that. .....most if then are just the opposite in fact.
  15. I have only played a couple sessions since the release. I have basically just started 2 of the 3 roles and I'm further on the Bounty than anything else. Trouble is, I was getting that problem where the XP wasn't being applied so I'm probably one more capture before I get to lvl 2. I also had the disconnect issue many have been having since the release of the update but it didn't bother us the last time. .....although my buddy had issues with his horse not moving when initiating another bounty until the end when it seemed to let up. Hoping they can fix these bugs soon. .....and @BropolloCreed79, maybe when they fix the current discon issues it might finally fix your long standing problem. ....fingers crossed.
  16. I didn't even know they made a bunch of different types.
  17. That would be cool. What they show in the game is nowhere near what someone would realistically be able to load some of these weapons. ......as Jerry Miculeck walks in, "Is that a challenge? Hold my beer."
  18. ......check the 3 minute mark. That explains why he had to load the cylinder on the bench with his own press. This wasn't a requirement for this or necessarily other percussion revolvers of the time. The reloading assembly broke off on his gun, that's why. .....otherwise you can load the revolver with the cylinder still in the the frame of the weapon. That's what I was talking about.
  19. I'm not into shooting black powder firearms but these percussion revolvers usually had presses or rams built into their design so they could be reloaded in the field. The LeMat had one too IIRC. I'm not sure what video you may have watched but maybe in that scenario the owner / shooter felt more comfortable loading on a bench for whatever reason.
  20. PvP hasn't been as popular as R* thought. The introduction is likely just another way to help freshen it up. They know there are some who prefer this kind of gameplay and yeah, I can see it as great way to gauge interest in it. As for additional session types, R* has already said that their vision was for a one session experience and that is "Free Roam". They currently have no interest in creating multiple session types (e.g. solo, private, free aim, etc.). .....but that's not to say they won't change their minds at some point and they've even said as much. Personally, I wouldn't read too much into it. We'll have to see how things shake out. If this new mode becomes really popular, then perhaps.
  21. It's not a new mechanic in R* games. Neither are the arcade aspects. The fact is that they have to appeal to their core player base and removing something like this that has such a significant impact on the gameplay won't likely be well received. Personally, I think the proximity blips alone were a great compromise to keeping the radar while not being too intrusive in regard to people's whereabouts. You really need to be within a relatively close range before you even begin to show up on someone's minimap. ......unless of course you have a high hostility level. .....then there's the whole balance aspect of it. Remove people's ability to spot potential enemies near them and the chances of being griefed will skyrocket. Ambushes will be a common event in towns, popular routes, etc. This would firmly place the advantage in the griefer's hands. I like the idea for immersion but the realist in me tends to think Free Roam would simply turn into a free for all at that point and that is clearly not the vision R* has for RDO. If you folks really don't like it, you can also let R* know via their feedback site: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadonline/feedback?step=decd9bdb
  22. Please refer to the main thread on this topic:
  23. Did you submit a trouble ticket?
  24. @ILLJohnWick48, First, did you contacct R* Support and if so, what did they say? Second, did you see the response from Support that I shared above? The first level of support can be inconsistent. You can tell they are simply a call center company somewhere outside of the U.S. Sometimes you get someone like I did who actually knows what's going on, sometimes you don't and you get the typical troubleshooting script. The trick is to not allow them to close the ticket. Your case will be escalated at some point. Either way, they are working on it. Maybe you want to share what I have above from one of their own reps? Here is the full response (less the links): Either way, this issue is not going to be resolved overnight. Hopefully its on R*'s side like John (above) said since that would be the fastest way they can address it. Like it or not, we are just going to have to wait to see. .....but if you want to help, stay persistent. The more people that complain about it and the more persistent folks are, the better our chances are of getting results. ....IMO. We really can't do much else anyhow. Also, please note that I have combined your threads on the subject as well as another with this one. I understand some of the frustration but I'd like to keep everything in one to keep things tidy and help share information with anyone in the same boat.
