Why are you apologizing? You've done nothing wrong. .....quite the opposite as I've stated here several times. This whole debate HuDawg brought up had nothing to do with anything that you did wrong. ....you were actually following the rules. Ok?
-
C'mon HuDawg.... When you call out a player because of their actions like in C20s example (even made a derogatory remark toward him) , that would be considered naming & shaming and he was right to blur it out as it would have otherwise been deleted and subject to a warning. The whole thread was about players who poach and those that do it. C20 recognized that he would be naming & shaming and kudos to him for respecting the rules by blurring it out. You can't get a more clear cut example of naming & shaming than this. I don't have a problem with someone disagreeing with this rule but I would have a problem if they chose to ignore it because of it. It's not up for debate. In this case, it would have been naming and shaming if the user name was included. .....simple as that.

Continue to report it to R* if you're not already. Provide screenshots and/or video evidence. If you're not satisfied with answers they provide, don't let them close the trouble ticket and try to escalate it. Like Lumper mentioned, not all problems are widespread so there may be other things at work here. Not saying that is isn't an issue, just making sure you are also trying to work the problem with R* as well so they can attempt to resolve it for you.

Thanks for doing that and respecting the rules. No, the above also falls under the naming and shaming rules. Even with evidence that shows someone is trolling, cheating, etc. in the game, we do not allow the naming & shaming or "calling out" of any other players and/or fellow members regardless of the circumstances. We urge folks to use the in-game reporting features and R* Support site to report such activities and to submit their evidence. If a member here is being trolled or harassed in these forums, via PM or otherwise, report the post and/or contact one of us (the staff) so we can handle it. From the bits I saw of the video, that example should be fine as C20 blurred out the offender's name. If anyone has questions about the rules, please ask us.: Name and shame: Please don't be tempted to"name and shame" or call out other players in Red Dead Online that you might have had a dispute or other issue with. We don't allow those sorts of posts.

In the examples given in this thread, that's exactly what they are doing but also reciprocating the attackers action. Just because some people choose dish it back out to griefers doesn't mean they are going to go hunt down innocent players.
-
I had a member in another thread question why we don't allow naming & shaming within these forums and this is one good example. Plenty of folks play offline for various legitimate reasons including myself. Maybe I just don't want others in my friends list, etc. to know I'm online. Sometimes I just forget. I use my console as my media center and I don't want to be bothered most of the time it's on. A 170 level also proves nothing and quite frankly isn't all that high at this point in the game. .....and there are plenty of griefers out there who are low level.
-
Well, people who are shot don't tend to get "knocked" around either. I'm not going to provide any links here due to the sensitive nature of the content but I could show you plenty of examples of people being shot. Someone on a horse would likely just "fall off" due to their reaction to being shot (e.g. lose their balance) or simply by being incapacitated where in that case, you'd probably just drop like a sack of potatoes. Being blown back, thrown/knocked around, etc. is mostly just Hollywood dramatics as @The_Liquor mentioned.

Red Dead Online: Your Feedback/Questions/Answers

I don't recall it was but apparently I'm wrong. I also didn't play RDR1 online. -
....and in all honesty, if the reloading times were more realistic in the game, that would add so much more value to having a second sidearm IMO because that's exactly right. .....and I'm sure a reason those that did carry more than one, chose to do so. Dual wielding is a Hollywood thing. Haven't watched HoW yet but I will someday.
-
lol.... Yeah, just minor cheating with the swapping of cylinders. I vaguely recall Clint Eastwood doing that with a cap and ball revolver in one of his movies. Mine is a Blackhawk as well although I have the 6 1/2" barrel and it's a New Model (modern cocking system; can unload/reload while hammer is fully forward). I've watched a few of Gil's videos before. He's really talented. I'm also an owner and big fan of 1911s so it was good to see that in the video too.

Red Dead Online: Your Feedback/Questions/Answers

This should have been the default mount instead of the Scrawny Nag. -
Depends on the game IMO / IME. Some games have a better "feel" to them than others.
-
I have to agree with @Miltonastic. .....at least with my own experience too. I simply haven't found the differences to be dramatic enough to even warrant a change. Heck, I'm still riding around with my freebie Chestnut Arabian. I've never felt outmatched trying to evade or chase down targets, etc. I guess if I were into horse race events where perhaps every bit matters I might reconsider. ......but yeah, spend your money on what matters to you. I'd still like a Black Arabian though simply because it would complete my "look".
-
Good ideas there. I might add that since there is no crouch/kneeling or prone in the game, perhaps it takes shooting from cover into consideration as well in reticule recovery and accuracy to mimic someone taking a shot from a more stable position. Personally, I think stamina/recovery should have played a role as well so someone running & gunning can't shoot just as accurately as someone in a resting position. I would also wish that they would slow down reloading in the game. It's simply way too fast. Guns could be rebalanced to compensate for this and perhaps even TTK. Maybe even make it a little slower for folks on horseback as that is something that isn't quite that easy to do while riding. With all of the other ideas, folks might be a little more inclined to slow their roll as they say lending a little more value to tactics in the game. Folks would give shots some more thought and it could make running out of ammo a lot more intense in a gunfight. First time I saw my character reload the Cattleman in the game I laughed. I wish I could reload my own single action revolver that way. .....and while I can unload and reload in fairly short order, it's nowhere near the lightning speed shown in the game.

The only thing that ever "feels" closer to reality to me are usually FPSs and/or TPS with ADS. .....like Ghost Recon Wildlands as an example of the latter. That's actually a decent comparison because aiming feels a little more natural to me without AA enabled although it isn't that overpowered. Enemies are also not bullet sponges. Gunplay in R* titles just feels really arcadey and that has never been one aspect of the game that I would say I thought was all that good. However, for me, it's all about the overall experience, depth, detail and fun factor in their games that keep me coming back. Playing RDO without AA feels way too jenky to me and even though I think it's overpowered in this game, I still use it. Fact is, using controllers, mice, keyboards, etc. will never be the same as shooting in reality. However, some games tend to better than others to help bring a little bit of that "feel" to the player. Other than some of the sounds, RDO isn't one of them but for that kind of experience I usually turn to tactical shooters like Insurgency Sandstorm that is set to release sometime later this year (which looks really promising). .....more realistic handling, reloading, good sounds, etc.

Not that I recall but then again, my memory isn't all that good these days. This was something that happened 30 odd years ago or so. My Dad probably remembers more than I do about that trip we took.
-
I sat a couple rows back from him on a jet boat trip on the Russian River in Oregon. We also stayed in the same hotel (he was below us). Heard him out on the balcony. I don't remember much about the trip but I do recall that they held up the boat because he was late.

When will red dead redemption 2 will come to pc?
Kean_1 replied to Vinayvarma's question in Questions & Answers
Hi Vina welcome to the forums No one knows when or even if RDR2 will come to PC as there has been no news or even an acknowledgement that it will. -
Well, we care and we would hope our members can appreciate why it's in place as its also there to help protect them from false accusations and personal grudges being aired out on these forums. This rule isn't unique to these forums and there is a good reason why it's in place. We would hope folks can at least respect that. Again, just use the reporting features in game, through R* Support and MS/Sony.
-
....and what's to prevent folks from "calling out" otherwise innocent players. What's the standard by which people are accused and who determines that? ....etc., etc. There is a good reason why naming & shaming isn't allowed here. For in-game problems, report players using the methods mentioned. ....for issues related to this site, use the report features and/or contact a moderator.
-
No doubt. That was my fear of what separate lobbies might be if they were ever introduced in RDO. Quite honestly though, I just don't expect that is the route R* wants to take with this game. Yeah, I was speaking mainly to businesses and related activities. Obviously heists, races and such are outside of private and public sessions (their own deal). I like the heists but not the races or any of the PvP modes. We should do a few heists and such in GTAO one of these days. I haven't had a chance ot most of that content since I really never had friends who were interested in GTAO.

I removed the profane label from your post but more importantly, that link takes you to the Feedback page. The one you want is this: https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507?step=2b145d14 That is there Support page and the subsection that allows you to report a player and/or group. You can use the link I provided above which I would recommend especially if you see someone using hacks / exploits. Obviously, if you have evidence (e.g. screen shots, video, etc.) that would help. Also, there is an in-game feature in the Free Roam menu that allows you to report players for predetermined reasons. As a PS4 user, I also tend to block these types of folks if I have had bad experiences with them in the game. This will ensure they cannot msg me, follow me, etc.

You can still build a biker business in private sessions but most of the missions require at least one other player so you'll need a friend(s). You can also do the related businesses, resupply missions, etc. (from what I remember) in the same mode. However, essentially all of the VP and CEO stuff is locked out which actually makes up a majority of the content in GTAO which also happens to be the most profitable in the game. .....e.g. Import/Export, Gunrunning, Smuggling, Nightclub and other CEO / VP available missions. .....not to mention the bunker, hanger, garage, HQ, etc. that you need to run these businesses. That is all basically locked behind public sessions which is why I use the MTU setting to allow me to still play all of that content by myself or sometimes, with a friend. Wish I didn't have to but there it is. Personally, I wasted millions on businesses that I should have spent on other more beneficial ones. If I would have watched some of the YT videos others told me about, I would have got much further much sooner. ....but I still had a ton of fun playing a lot of the missions (many of which you can do solo). One reason I had reservations about private sessions in RDO is a fear of repeating the GTAO model where most content would be locked behind Public / Free Roam sessions. .....and then Free Roam being a free for all crapfest just like GTAO without an option for those of us trying to escape unabated griefing to participate in a good portion of the content. That is one reason why I (personally) am glad R* took the route they did with Free Roam. I won't mind separate lobbies as long as they don't lock out content like that. .....obviously some things simply won't make sense in solo / invite-only sessions which is understandable.

Hi Commando and welcome to the forums. Please note that this a fan forum and not a site affiliated with R* or 2K. If you want to speak directly with R*, here is a link to their feedback site. https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadonline/feedback This is a friendly and welcoming community so feel free to hang out, review the content and contribute.
