This really is a beautiful game.

Hi @Blue_Cat and welcome to the forums.

Really? It would say it's definitely deep down your alley. It's real "gun nerd" stuff. I think most might find it a little too dry but he's got a big following. He collaborated on an AK47 book / guide with Larry Vickers and his written his own as well. He does other book reviews and critiques them on historical / technical accuracy but most of all, he showcases special, odd and historical weapons where he goes into fine detail regarding the inner workings, etc. He takes the weapons apart to show how they work. He also does ammunition reviews and tests. He sometimes will also fire some of those weapons he reviews but it's all done in a mostly objective fashion. Here are just a couple of the videos he's done on the Gyrojet weapons. .....I wish I could find the video where he test fires one but there are others out there:

Everyone? There are those of us who like it just fine so far. I'm content with R*s direction but some are not which is expected. Its that way with any game.

Bummer. This CE / blue-screen crash started right after the update and essentially stopped me from playing for the most part until it got fixed a week later. Seems the communication isn't getting to all of the Support team and Diana may actually be part of Tier 1. Thing is, if you respond again, they will answer back and eventually your issue gets kicked up to a higher tier. May want to mention this response: Either he was hoping the latest update would fix it not knowing for sure it specifically addressed the "CE" problem or knew that it would/could due to what the fixes entailed and wanted to make sure. Either way, he did reach back out to me which was good. ....and yeah, it appears the

I remember seeing that on an episode of forgotten weapons. Ian not only did the usual review of the gun but was able to fire it. Neat stuff.

Jack goes to war..... (WWI) I don't know what they would have in mind but I would love to have the game setup to allow a 2 or maybe even 4 player co-op experience. Maybe a game set in the RDR gameworld where players are allowed to create their own characters and gangs. ....supported by AI if you want to play solo. Maybe give the player choices from a pool of NPCs that they can recruit, fire, be betrayed by, etc. ...each having their own strengths, weaknesses, vices, honor level, abilities/skills, personalities/traits, dialogue, etc. Maybe you come across eligible NPCs during a mission or in certain locations, etc. and even have to have a certain level of experience, honor , etc. for them to even be interested in joining your gang. Maybe they can be killed which might lend more immersion and value into your relationship with them. .....especially if their abilities / skills develop over time while they're with you. The loss would be felt more. Some NPCs could even be more trustworthy, dependable, brave, etc. which would all affect how they interact with you and how they behave while in your gang, during missions, while in town, etc. Maybe AI gang members will come to respect you more over time so they are less likely to run if they are the type to get scared in a fight, less likely to betray you, won;t cause as much trouble while you're in town, will follow orders more easily, etc. Weave in the RDR characters into the experience but where they take more of a background role. ....hire you on for some jobs or perhaps your paths can cross in various ways and thru various interactions. You (and your friends if want) could be your own customizable character(s) experiencing the RDR world through the eyes of someone outside the cast of the series. ....and live it as well. .......just some really raw spitballin' here.

Whether the OP was talking about a glitch he exploited to simulate a passive state or whatever, he was also hoping they would implement one. ....but that's a moot point. This thread was created about two months prior to the new mode being implemented. The thread was resurrected as the new defensive / offensive mode was introduced and a new discussion was started. My comments about the the passive references are to those referring to the Defensive mode as "passive" which some have done and still do. ....in the context of the new discussion, not the OP's original one. It was never touted as a passive mode when it was announced. .....without getting into the same discussion about what they said in their marketing regarding supporting various playstyles. Personally, I think it works quite well and I'm sure they're not done tweaking it. There are also some additions coming in this Summer that may change how people's roles / gaming experience is defined. IO, it wasn't a weak attempt but I know that some folks won't be happy until they can have options that give them exactly what they want. Regardless of how you feel about the direction they took, the fact is that PvP is a part of Free Roam just as much as PvE and that's not going to change anytime soon from the looks of it.. .....but we've all said all this before looking through the history of this thread.

Fyi.... Tier 2 Support reached out to me today to see if my "CE" issues have been resolved since the latest update. I let him know all seems to be well now with those of us here who have been affected by this. I also provided him a link to the thread. Thanks again to @Moosh89 for creating the thread and to all who participated. After a couple good, long sessions under my belt with no blue-screen crashes and confirmation from R* that they had addressed the issue, I'm confident that I can put this behind me for now. If anyone is still having this specific problem please let the group know. Thanks again folks.

It's funny, even those folks I thought were going to mess with us especially during missions when we were in Offensive mode never did. Although I'm sure it may happen at some point, I have yet to be trolled in Defensive mode myself but that could be due to my how my paranoia affects the way I react to randoms that are around me. ๐

Well, the 1.10 notes have been posted on their Support page but the funny thin is, it doesn't include that were initially mentioned. Usually these update notes will include everything mentioned and all of the details about bugs that were addressed, etc. Well, anyway, here it is for what it's worth..... Are you talking about in the campaign?

RDO is evolving. Even R* said that they haven't scrapped the separate lobby idea but they would really like to make the "Free Roam for all" work. That is their vision but they have also been taking player feedback to heart in their development choices. Obviously, some will never be happy with the state of the game which is completely understandable. .....but some of the arguments I see that stem from that are not IMO. While some were certain RDO would take a similar path as GTAO and were disappointed when it didn't, I think R* made it clear with their choices that RDO would be different in that regard. It's quite clear now that R* intended this to be a "one for all" mode and not the "free for all" some folks hoped for. .....and since they have confirmed what I grew to suspect (that there are no separate lobbies in their current plans), I'm quite content myself. The whole reference of "passive" to describe the Defensive option is a misnomer. It's not a passive mode as you can still be killed, griefed, etc. nor what it ever pitched as one. It simply makes it more difficult for the aggressor to kill a Defensive player and provides the victim more options if they are. ....and if used as a means to evade and escape potential threats, it works really well IMO/IME. Just having it on seems to help in that regard IME. You really need to play as if everyone else is out to kill you and that has never changed in this game even with this new Defensive mode. A total, true passive option has yet to be realized and quite frankly, I think it's obvious that is not part of R*'s vision for Free Roam. I believe they always wanted to include some level of risk for players but what they wanted to try and mitigate was the rampant griefing folks complained about. Personally, I think they did just that and with a few tweaks / changes / additions, Free Roam may just work for most.

@Moosh89, I went ahead and added @Lonestar's original description for the General Chat in the RDR2 forum to this one for consistency and pinned for ya.

......I bet you could. ๐ (I kid, I kid.....just had to)

pvp mode, gold payouts, and the bonus gold multiplier

This was another change they made likely based on feedback as I believe many folks found it contradictory to their anti-griefing additions. -
pvp mode, gold payouts, and the bonus gold multiplier

.....but at least now the players kill challenges are within PvP modes rather than Free Roam. -
When it comes to PvP I'm the exact opposite. I prefer more methodical paced, tactical shooters. The more they lean toward realism / milsim, the better for me. More realistic damage modeling and consequences force players to think before they act. ......no running and gunning However, my PvP fix is coming just as soon as Insurgency Sandstorm hits console later this year. I stopped building PCs and gaming on them back when the PS3 hit the market. I miss those games and would likely be playing titles like Squad, Hell Let Loose, Escape From Tarkov, ARMA, etc. if I were still gaming on PC.

I'm glad you have the passion but welding to me is just something that helps me get things done around the house, etc. If I was 30 years younger I might be more enthusiastic about it. Don't get me wrong, it's kinda fun sometimes and rewarding but at my age, I'm not looking to make a career out of it or start any major builds. I did my time in the working world and I'm enjoying my semi-retired life. Besides, old age and old injuries have caught up to me so things I once spent a lot of time doing in the garage (e.g. day long detailing sessions, all of our mechanical repairs, home repairs, etc.) are much more challenging now and frankly, not really fun as a result.

Yeah because nobody was willing to hang around for RDR2. .....oh, wait.

I was thinking the same thing. It would have been great to be on a livestream with these guys as I got one of those blue-screen, CE crashes. .....too bad it appears they fixed it. Have fun in Hawaii btw.

I added the platform to your thread title which should help as folks browse this sub forum. ....and welcome to the site btw.

Rdr2 data deleted; is my online character deleted also?
Kean_1 replied to Atlnomexna's question in Questions & Answers
I may be wrong but I think it is tied to your PSN account. .....so as long as you login in under the same account, it should be there. ....but again, this is an assumption on my part. If no one can confirm, you can always contact R* Support for the answer: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadonline/feedback?redirect_lang=en_us Btw, I'm also going to go ahead and move this to the Online Q&A sub forum as this one is for the campaign.
