Hey there, so my advice is this. Just collect as you do other stuff, dont really pay attention to it so much at first, just do it in the background. Grab anything you encounter, and if you know where an item was once, everytime you go by there, check to see if it is there then. Grab anything you can find. Try to get the metal detector as soon as you can. What I did was collect them until I had mostly full sets, then I used not the above maps, but a video that shows every item category, then time stamped each item depending on which day in the 3 day cycle it happened to be, and I will go out and grab the final 1, 2, or 3 items I need in any given category. Once you have the full set go see her and sell it. This week we have 30% boost on role xp and xp in general so it is a good time to do this. Once you get the detector, and binoculars it is much easier as you just ride around with your detector out while hunting, running missions and doing bounties, always hunt, and collect no matter what else you are doing. Then you will have all of your sets near full most of the time, and what I do is before I log off for the day, I look in my satchel to see what I need in my collections. If I need 1, 2, or 3 items in any given category, then I make a list, go to the video, and grab those final items, then I go see Nazar and sell the sets, this will give you a lot of xp plus cash. You get 2X for sets thats double the cash for selling a complete set, so adapting a strategy that allows you to not sell individual items will help you a lot.

I kept some and changed others. I will do a few pics later of some of the others like Volcanic pistols, they look amazing!! and the Pump action shot gun, etc.. I made my Lancaster all copper, then went with dark leather as opposed to white, and my glitched variation is great!! I like it this way, the white is cool too, but I have the white Bolt action, which I prefer to having the darker lancaster looks nice to me. If you look at my bolt action, you can see the variant under the white wash, plus I combined copper sights with gold barrel and other parts for a cool combination on my rifle, I really like it this way.

Well, you may or may not have been here back in Beta and then after the Spring update, but for a long time, it was easy to die in this game, and you did it a lot. For those of us that are in the free roam to hunt, grind, collect, etc.. and not bothering anyone, it is nice to know griefers wont be a problem anymore, we paid our dues, we are happy to have a tank build. I dont play pvp anymore so I cant speak to that, I suppose in pvp it is a little ridiculous, but in free roam, it was necessary and welcomed. Maybe they will make it so you have limited options for card load outs in pvp only as opposed to changing the cards again, who knows. I knew it was more but I had no idea it was double!! thats awesome!! good work on doing the math. This is why I say so what if you have 10 of an item, you are going to more than make up for it. So, above you can see the loss is significant to sell these as individual cards and items, but if that really bothers you, you can also at the end of each session just check your collections, any that have 10 items, go see Madam Nazar and sell 2 items from each full collection so the next time you play you can still pick up any you find, that would eliminate what you are saying about losing anything on them, and still allow you to keep your collections growing so you can sell them as sets.

I was clearing out my camera a little and came across these, I dont have an Arabian anymore otherwise I would have included one for comparison also. I didnt have my other Trotter in a saddle or KLadruber either, but the stats are the same so I didnt bother with them. Criollo is fastest at 9 speed, Then Trotter also a 9 speed, the Turk and Breton are both 8 speed, then the Klad. the Klad has 100 health and Stamina, as well as higher acceleration, the Breton doesnt slow down while using Slow and Steady.
-
That would be a game changer, but seeing how we dont have cross platform play at this point, I dont know if that is in the cards or not, but if it were I would think it would be used by a LOT of players. I know if I had a gaming rig I woudl at least try it.

Do You Think Multiple Characters Will Be Allowed At Some Point?
lumper replied to KylesDad7's topic in Red Dead Online
Well, we do have that now, you can set up a second profile and make a new character and play, since you have to start over with a new character anyway and cant share stuff, although in gtav you can share a bank account, otherwise you can just make a second guy, I did. I am level 11 or 12 with my secondary character. -
So, this thing is a little disappointing, you cant wear a hat with it. I tried it with the hairstyle that you wear a bandanna but you only get the one white one, I dunno, I am not a big fan.
-
I dont get this either. I only recently understood the run away carriage too, and Ive yet to get it right, you have to jump onto it and then bring it to a stop, Ive tried shooting the horses out, and many other things, in the end they survive but are pissed at me, lol, then I realized, they want me to jump on, bring it to stop safely without damage, good luck with all that. Im not sure what we are expected to do with the two arguing that one shoots the other, I dont get it, I thought maybe we are supposed to challenge he shooter after the fact? I dont know, Id like to hear what others think though. Same with the barking dog, Once led me to an ambush, but several other times led me to a body, thats it, nothing more, I felt bad like what can I do here? Then the one time the dog even attacked me, then some guy out of the woods, etc.. but many times, just a barking dog over a dead body and seemingly nothing more I can do.
-
Absolutely, it is not a perfect horse, it is not the fastest either, these horses have mutliple characteristics, this is why I keep saying, just try one, and give it a good test, to level it up to bonded level 4, and then do a few bounties, some collecting, join a race series event, decide for yourself. We all have differing opinions, so you really should try it to see what you like or dont like about it. If you dont have an issue with being thrown very often and that isnt a concern, and you just want all out speed, then yeah a Criollo, or Arabian, or Trotter is going to work best for you. Everyone is different and to each his own.

**Animal Spawn Issue Discussion** (Since Summer and Recent Updates)
lumper replied to Jimblob's topic in Troubleshooting
So, I thought about what everyone had said and today I went in to the game. I invited a player to my posse and he and I did a few missions, I was in Heartland over flow when I remembered the Buffalo, so I told him my theory or I should say my findings the other day, I said, it is only the two of us on this server so based on what everyone told me, there should be Buffalo , so I rode over to where they should be and sure enough, a herd of Buffalo, lol. So yeah, I do believe you all were correct in assuming that the number of players on the server may have a direct impact on the number of spawning animals, it does seem that way anyway. I was pretty excited to see Buffalo again today. The other day I started a bounty missions just so I could hunt and fulfill my daily challenges for Cripps and the Trader role, it was nice, no people and decent amount of animals everywhere I went. -
Strange Grinding Addiction - What Is The End Game?

Nice, and at level 49 your not close to done, maybe half way to 100 yeah, but 100 isnt the end, only the end of the un-lockables. Welcome and glad to see new people enjoying the pve. I got the game around XMas last year too but didnt try the online until March 14th, so nearly three months later, and I only tried it after I was done with my 3rd full 100% play through, well I am at 97.5% really if Im being honest, but I did and saw everything you can do in game and lots more before I decided ok, Ill begrudgingly try the online but I dont expect it to be any good. Boy was I wrong! then it was still in Beta, I played the Beta and leveled up til I hit 100, I think we were still in Beta when I hit it, cant remember. Beta was the worst! griefers every day no matter what you did or where you did it, it was nearly unplayable for a while there for me. But now Im level 243 and I feel like that early stuff was the grind, trying to get the horses and ammo type, etc.. but once you get to 100 it becomes about daily challenges, hoarding gold for the next big update, completing other game awards etc.. Lots to do and more coming, I love this game, it is unlike any game I have ever played as far as online goes, some days I will play for many hours and never shoot another real person's character, as you woudl in COD or other shooters. I just started a second profile and I am at level 11 and it is a completely different experience to play the game today than it was from March til early June when the first big update came out and introduced passive mode, back then just surviving a few minutes was a real goal, now I almost never find any problems with other players, I mean yeah it happens, but maybe once a week now as opposed to every 15 minutes before. -
Well said man. James, when wolves show up say in 4 or more, my Trotter almost alwasy would throw me, a snake on the ground, sometimes, a bear lol definitely getting bucked, usually a cougar too, not if I get a good first shot off, but if not, that Trotter would throw me and run for zee hills, but not on the Breton. BUT here is the number 1 reason to get a Breton. It is the only horse that I am aware of that when you use Slow and Steady, you can still gallop fast, every other horse when you engage S&S you come to a stop, and can only walk slowly, but not on the Level 20 Breton, they may change this in the future, but for now, you can use S&S and not slow down at all, that is pretty handy.

Strange Grinding Addiction - What Is The End Game?
lumper replied to PVPNOOB's topic in Red Dead Online
Well, I have a daily system, no matter what, and to skip to the end and answer your question. The future for rdr2 holds many promising things. We are told, possibly properties, other businesses, vehicles, new horses and weapons, etc.. So you will go through the progression and when you get to the point where you have everything you currently want that is available, you start saving,s so when the "Winter update" or whatever the next big update is that comes, you will be ready to dive straight in. When this update hit, I had $11000.00 and around 300 gold bars, I was very happy to buy everything that came out and enjoy the new stuff while running my new businesses. Now, here is what I do to keep from getting bored. I am level 240 something, I have around $7000.00, 50 gld bars or a few less after today, ( I bought a bunch ore stuff I didnt need). Everyday I have a system. I start by checking my daily challenges as these pay gold. Then as I am doing them, I also feed Cripps to run my camp, and of course some of the challenges are usually doing sales missions, and re supply missions, plus feeding him carcasses, pelts, etc.. so I do that too, I also collect the whole time, no matter what else I am doing, then after I am nearly done, I make sure to get the ones that are daily challenges, the collections I mean, Ill get whatever they are asking for. Now as soon as I am done with my daily challenges, I then first check on Cripps, give him whatever he needs, then as long a the bounties are done, and all other challenges I am going to do that day, then all that is left is to open my satchel and see what my collections are looking like. If I see any collection with 3 or less items missing, say 7 out of 10, or 6 of 9, etc.. Then I make a list of the items I need and I spend some time and go get those items, so I can then go see Madam Nazar and sell anywhere from 4 to all of the collections. That way, as they build up I sell them off and make a good amount of money everyday, or sometimes Ill skip a day so every other day. at least 3 or 4 times a week Ill go sell 4 to all of the collections and make thousands of dollars each time I see her. So, thats what I do. I am excited to see what comes next, after reading the recent article from R* about how they want every player to feel the progression and SLOWLY make their way from poor to wealthy I am very confident that once you own everything you want, and dont really have anything new to do or buy, you just start racking up gold and cash for the next update. Usually twice a month we will get new stuff via our weekly updates on Tuesdays, it isnt a hard and fast rule, but it often works out that way, I like being on top of that stuff. There is nothing in game currently that I dont own or want. But those daily challenges and the promise of gold keeps me playing everyday. Usually Ill come on and 4 to 6 hours will fly by because I am checking items off a list as I outlined above, it feels like a system so I just follow the plan to stay in the game, then I get surprises, like dynamic events, unexpected finds, etc. Today while getting my "pigs" at Flat... station, I found 2 donkeys, I grabbed one and put my mic on and was laughing, a few people around me that were doing their own thing noticed, I called them out and said, "Hey check this out" and I rode circles around them to show them how funny it looks, then I hopped off one and grabbed the other, well me and a random player had about 10 minutes of fun goofing around riding donkeys, it was really funny, I made a short video even. that was just today, some days many things like that happen, and other days not so much, but all in all, it keeps me coming back everyday, not worrying at all about tomorrow, I know if I keep working my plan, I will be ready for anything that comes next. Thats just me, IMO it is fun to have a strategy and work a plan. -
I get it, what I do is just ignore what I have collected until I am done the daily challenges, bounties and trader stuff, when I look around and think, hmm what now, I look in my satchel and see what I am missing from my collections. Then I make a list of any category that has all but 3 or less items, then I go get those remaining items for however many collections that applies too that day. Today I have 6 categories with 3 or less missing, later on I will log back in and all I will do iss get the remaining items, it will net me around 1800$ to get them all and take around 90 minutes. Then tomorrow when I go on and have new daily challenges to do, I repeat, I go get the challenges done, collecting the whole time, then feed my camp between the daily's, then do my daily challenge bounties, and check my collections, some days I just leave them for a day and do it the next day, I wont bother with it unless I can sell at least 4 full collections. So each time I go to sell, I have made $200.000 or more, most times it is closer to $4000.00. To each his own, you can play the game anyway that suits you, and none of it is "wrong" Im just pointing out how I manage to do it to maximize my earnings as fr as collections go. You arent "wasting" anything, When I get to 10 of an item, if there is a daily challenge to sell her 3 items, I pull them from full collections. And I dont know if it is just by chance, but I only have 10 of a few things, mostly plants, which are super easy to find, and get anytime you want. The money you lose by selling less than complete sets more than makes up for the loss you might feel by not being able to pick up an item because you are full. To be honest long before you have 10 of multiple items, you will be able to sell full sets, and reduce that number,. Again, do it anyway you want, Im not saying you are wrong. I was just saying, you can make a LOT more money by not selling items alone, UNLESS you are only selling the 10th item in any given group, but again, you wont, because if you do it my way, you will once a day assess what you have, see that you only need 1, 2 or 3 items to complete a few sets, then go get those items, and sell those sets, so next time you go on, you dont really have 10 of anything, and again, you might have 10 of a few plants, but its fine, you dont go out of your way usually to get those, you find them while hunting and doing other things, at least I do.
-
Ive been using my Breton for everything as I play the game by simultaneously collecting, hunting, and trading, plus running bounties between trader missions, and for me, the Breton does it all very well, I have zero complaints.
-
Yeah gtaV is insane with hax, glitches, cheats etc.. off the chain crazy, the only way I can even play it is either solo session or doing the test NAT thing, otherwise I die without ever knowing how or by who within minutes of joining any public session, and thats on xbox!! I cant fathom how bad it is on pc, lol it has to be 10x worse based on past experiences with pc online games.
-
To be clear also, you can easily play on a lesser pc and enjoy the game. I only play games I can see in 4k, I really enjoy the evolution of graphics, from Pong which I literally owned in 1976 to RDR2, I have played them all, seen the milestone games that changed everything as they came out and for me, it is the never ending adventure of experiencing the next best thing with graphics. So for me to play the game on a pc and have to clock it down to say 800x600or 1024x768 for the sake of frame rates, Im out right there, lol. I have no desire to go backwards. Many people have good gaming rigs that will eat the game up at 1024x768, but to me, Im already getting 30fps at 4k on a console, so unless I can do better, Im not interested, and therefore wont be able to enjoy the pc release for a few years, thats just me.

Yes James, the Breton is much better IMO I like everything about it. The trotter might be a little faster but not so much that it would make any real difference, the Breton is no slouch, they are fast too. Criollo is the fastest with specs, then the trotters and maybe Turks, then I think Breton, BUT to be honest, the Breton to me handles better, feels better and to me it is very important that I dont get bucked off, I play a LOT, and it is multiple times a day I run into cougars, wolves, bears, snakes, etc.. and gun fights? lol by the dozen man, so yeah, I am sick and tired of having my horse bail on me, I have no desire to ride my Trotters at all to be honest since the new horses, I dont know that I will again either, I just dont have a need for a horse that is so skittish. The money if flowing in this game right now, try a Breton level 20, bonded to level 4, you decide, its a few bucks, but I guarantee you if nothing else you can use it specificaly for jobs where you KNOW the Trotter will freak, but I think once you ride one you will enjoy it. I own both Trotters, they were my favorite horse for a long time, I never thought Id like another horse more, but new things keep on coming. For sure to each his own, for me, Breton, Kladruber, Turkoman, Trotter in that order.

**Animal Spawn Issue Discussion** (Since Summer and Recent Updates)
lumper replied to Jimblob's topic in Troubleshooting
Ok, Thanks for the reply and information, I hadnt thought of server status and animals, but that does make sense. I cant really quantify that either as I cant control the servers I go to and how many I bounce between doing various missions. I am going to keep an eye out and see if I can replicate the conditions but now that you all have me thinking server numbers I am not sure I can really tell. Ill log in later with my low lever player and go back to Heartland over flow, I have not seen any buffalo there for weeks on my main profile, but with my new player as I said , I found a herd immediately, Ill go back and see if I can do that again then do some server hops and keep looking. I do question my original thought now though and to be honest, it was just my observation and my thought was wow this new level 8 character seems to find animals anywhere he goes, but as I said now that you all brought up servers and how many connected players at any given time are on, that does make sense to me, so who knows. Thanks everyone that replied, I appreciate the feedback -
As Kean said even on console there are cheaters and hax, pc will be way worse for sure, no matter what code they write it is just code, and someone else can write more code to circumvent it. If that is an actual concern, get it on console, honestly, unless you have a very serious gaming rig, I mean something that will cost you upwards of $2500 you wouldnt get a great experience anyway unless you downgraded everything and honestty, the optimized version on console for $450 is going to be very tough to beat. If you are going to spend the money to optimize a pc or build or buy a new one, yes the possibility of cheats and haxors will likely be a problem. You can get a much better gaming experience with a solid pc but not for $450, lol not even close. Ive built dozens of gaming rigs for tons of games, but today, what you can achieve on a console and a 4k tv dollar for dollar the console is the best way to go. A pc to run this game better than a ps4 or xbox one is going to cost 3 to 4 x as much as a console and you then still need a 4k tv or monitor. I play on a 70" 4k flat screen tv and woudl never ever go back to a monitor, I can punch my pc out to it, but lol it wont even run 1/2 as good as it does on my xbox because my current pc is not a gamer, to make it a gamer I woudl have to spend around $1500 minimum so, it just doesnt make sense to me at this point. If you are lucky enough to have a serious gaming rig that can eat this game up at 4k graphics over 60 fps even in St Denis with fire and players on screen, then I applaud you and can say, I am jealous.

Will online PC be any different from online console?
lumper replied to gsamson24's topic in Red Dead Online
Yes, especially depending on what version you buy. I read that they have added missions and bounties I think that we did not get in rdr2 story mode on console. Not to mention the possibility for mods to both the online and story mode will most likely have an impact and will be slightly different than what we all experienced on either ps4 or xbox 1. They did an article recently about the pc release and I think it was in that article I read that, I cant quite remember, but if you search and read up on everything that was released in the past 2 weeks, you will find it. I for one wont be playing it on pc, But I wish I could. I used to build gaming rig pc's, it was a hobby of mine that I loved!! I built myself 5 or 6 over the years, every two years I built a new one, new motherboard, chipset, memory, etc.. I woudl start with a crazy platform I knew would perform top of the line for that time, and then go, almost every single one I built cost me in parts alone, $2500, then my time to not only assemble it but then load it, optimize it then overclock it, I used to score in the top 1% of 3dmark back in the day, back then I was called Lumperthegreat, I once helped a kid in Sweden hot flash his bios chip over the net, lol I was super into it and was very capable. But my life has changed in many ways over the past 10 years, I hurt my back working, had 2 surgeries etc.. and was never the same physically so I no longer do that work, the work I did was masonry, I owned and operated my own restoration company and made really good money for me, usually around $2500 a week and this was from 2000 til 2008. So to build a $2500 pc was nothing to me, I often woudl buy 2 motherboards when doing a build so I coudl do some extreme things, like the pencil trick and hot flashing bios chips, etc.. My point is I cant afford to build one these days. I wont play it on pc unless I can build a pc that can run the game at the highest res and no lag or slowdowns, if that is even possible with todays tech, I think you can do it, but it would cost. For me the only reason to do it was to have an experience you simply could not have on a console, and for years, I did. When the xbox one x came out, I was imrpessed and realized, this is really good, especially for a $450 console, yeah my pc build would be better, but woudl also cost likely 5X as much, so unless I can get 2X as good for 5X the money it just isnt worth it to me. If I could afford I woudl love to build a nasty gamer just for rdr2, but alas it isnt in the cards. What I can tell you is if you do plan to buy this game on pc, you most likely will need at the very least, a solid cooling system, a great video card, a fast and large hard drive, and a super power supply, plus chipset with the correct drivers to make it all work well. Yes you can play the game on far less, but I dont know why you would want too, this game is so beautifull that the only way to see it is in all its glory and that would mean 60 fps or higher at all times on 4k, makes me drool just thinking about it. But if you dont have the money to upgrade your gaming rig and you cant afford to build a new one, you can still grab either console for under $500 and they way they optimized the game to run on these it is really nice!! It isnt perfect and yes there are frame rate drops way under 30 at times, but that is to be expected for $450 with a game as detailed as this one. If you try to run this game on your old pc or an older gamer good luck, you will most likely tax it to its limits and likely burn parts, like I said you will need a killer psu and solid platform then really good cooling to keep it from frying your chips. I am jealous of the folks who will be able to do it, it is a niche group, like 1% of gamers go to that extreme, but once you see a game like this in all its glory and you cant do anything to make it lag, there really just isnt anything like that in the gaming world. The best part if you do have one or get one or build one, is pc games ALWAYS have benefits you can not get on consoles, modifications, extra content, higher graphics settings, etc.. For me, maybe in 5 years when pc parts have evolved again a few times and todays tech drops in price, what woudl cost $2500 today will cost around $800 and at that point I might, maybe build one just for this game, but who knows what will happen in 5 years time, so all I can do is day dream about it for now. -
**Animal Spawn Issue Discussion** (Since Summer and Recent Updates)
lumper replied to Jimblob's topic in Troubleshooting
If you are a level lower than 90 do you find fewer animals today than you did a month ago? do you find herds of buffalo at the Overflow near Emerald ranch? Or have you been seeing fewer and fewer animals in the same places? For me for many months I knew exactly where I woudl find certain animals and now they are just not there, ever, UNTIL TODAY< Read on below. So, I hit level 234 or so today, and once I was done with my daily challenges I was bored so I went to my secondary profile and started a second character, he was at level 8 when I left him back in March. So ok, I log in, I have around $20, and 20 bars of gold, a cattleman, a carbine, a bolt action, a bow, and a fishing pole. I have no cards, a tiny camp and a Morgan, to give you an idea. Ok, so I decide I am goign to see how quickly I can level him up to 100 after all I have learned, I figure in 2 to 3 weeks I can do it. What I saw was amazing. Every area I went to while doing my first day of daily challenges the animals were x10 I havent seen a buffalo on my level 230 character in over a month, but today in my level 8 guy, I found a herd where they always were, I went to Shady belle for some fish and found 8 gators, 2 turtles, boars, fox, turkeys, racoons, muskrats, etc.. you name it in great numbers. I went to Rio Bravo and found HERDS of both pigs and Pronghorns,, condors, and hawks, and eagles, iguana's etc.. It looks to me at first glance that as a new player you have the old spawns we all had. One example is there is a boar or was a boar in this same exact spot everyday for months down by Shady belle, but lately for the past 4 to 6 weeks, he isnt there and I cant even find a single one in that area anymore, but today with my new character there he was as I always expected him to be. I went to several areas of the map and in each area I was completely blown away by the numbers of animals. I have been playing rdr2 since launch and online since March 14th, I am at level 234 or so, so I know the game, I know the maps, animals etc.. I definitely am very familiar with the game in all aspects, so I feel like all the animals I encountered today in the low level character were exactly as I found them when I was a low level player too but now that I am over 150 they have tapered off drastically. I think it was around this time (150) that I really noticed the lack of animals. So, I dont know if this is by design, or if my old low level character game never updated, Hmm I should look at that I assume it is updated, I mean it does have all the elements of the Frontiers Pursuit update in place so it had to update at least to that point. But it seems low level players get the benefit of all the animals to help them level up, but once you get to 150-200 they drop significantly. I am going to play this level (now 12) character daily after I finish my daily challenges with my main profile, so I will update this if it changes or anything strange happens, but I found this interesting. I thought it was this way for everyone, I mean I see lw level players in maps I am in, so do they see the buffalo and I dont, that part doesnt make sense to me. Anyway that was my observation today. There were so many animals in less than an hour I went from level 8 to level 12 and didnt even run a story mission, which I havent done yet by the way, not even 1, I am going to wait to do them until I get a few essentials to make it easier for me. Right now I am capable, but with only PIB, and Iron lung 1 I think, with almost no weapons, etc.. I am not in a rush. As I had said, I am goign to do it right this time, and be as conservative as I can be. I have a real solid game plan so it will be fun to see how fast I can do it, I think it will also help me guide newer players who ask for help if I can lay out a strategy that I know 100% will help them level up the fastest way with as little wasted time as possible. -
Yes the Kladruber is ok around them, better than the Trotters or Turks, but not as good as the Breton, the Breton is the best for temperament over all
-
The Kladruber is a great horse, but if you are concerned with being bucked, get the Breton, it is much better in that regard.
