In my limited experience this afternoon, blue anything (4-point star: Player Posse Leader, Dot: Player Posse Member/Solo) are non-combative. I'm assuming by the description Rockstar gave earlier that the blips would increase in red as the player killed more that purple would be somebody falling off the "path of righteousness" toward evil (As blue mixed with red is purple) and red is a full on blood thirsty griefer.

Haven't really gotten too much time in the new update yet but first impressions: - I too was concerned with a few of the daily challenges of killing PLAYERS was a huge slap in the face of those who wanted anti-griefing measures - but I'm thinking that these challenges could be done in PVP competitive modes. Although, getting player kills from a moving train definitely sounds like a free roam task... - The new clothing is really cool BUT the majority of the colour variations are a huge eyesore, a lot of vibrancy in the more outlandish colours which in my opinion detracts way too much visually from the game, especially one set in 1898. Give these colours a good toning down and it will be fine. Currently it looks like the devs took the assets into MS Paint and went crazy with the paint bucket tool... gehhh! - The new emotes are welcomed, although I feel some are slightly over-the-top, mostly "Point and Laugh". Maybe make the emote less comical to see and more of a natural laugh. I've seen almost the exact emote in many other games and it doesn't look like it has gotten any better. I haven't tried competitive modes yet but it would be cool to use one of your equipped/favoured emotes by command at the end of a match if you're the top player (Maybe you can?) - One of my daily challenges is "Kill 2 Seagulls"... Sounds easy, I went to Blackwater dock because you can always hear them screeching. I spent over an hour real time there and heard them non-stop, but only saw ONE (*If it even was a seagull) which flew too directly over me to where I couldn't aim at it, and into the sun and disappeared. I was spamming Eagle Eye the entire time. I thought I got lucky when I finally spotted some birds, but I killed one and alas, it was not a seagull... - Another daily challenge I had was to change my hairstyle once... Easy! I went to the barber and realized how terrible it was... I am particular about my hair being close to how I normally wear it in real life, either a ponytail or braid - but the ponytails and braids look like they've been styled by your horse, even the "Fine" variants and changing your hairstyle is around $20. Luckily I felt settled on a second style than the one I walked in with, but it definitely hurt to drop $20 when I couldn't help but wish that you could simply get your hair tamed into the same style for a reduced cost, similar to how it works in Singleplayer where you can fix your hair if it becomes deshevelled after a fist fight or fall from your horse.

I rolled up to the butcher in Valentine packing a 3 star buck and several varying quality pelts. I started getting peppered by a varmint rifle from a nearby rooftop, but I think they realized I was accessing the butcher because he stopped and waited until I was finished as I had to hop in and out of the butcher storefront and I had to come down the street before he put me down. I spawned in again and went to an adjacent rooftop but he capped me again. I respawned and immediately crouched and snuck around to a balcony and nabbed him with a long distance headshot. We both messaged at the same time... Me: Fistfight? Him: Nice shot He agreed to fistfight. We duked it out several times and then another random player rode in and shot us both lol, then my sparring partner got disconnected

Nah, there's something definitely off, every Story mission I tried to join today and yesterday, I was forced to spectate. Even just as the mission started. However I could join races no issues (knowing that Races have ALWAYS forced spectate)

I have friends I normally play games with but they don't seem to want to be on RDO as much as me. I'm friendly, albeit shy at first. I do have a headset. I prefer hunting and herb picking, stranger missions, story missions and daily challenges. Easy going. Level 95+. I have a Persistent Posse set up. Add me with a message regarding RDR2.org (with forum name). Lets get that XP! PSN: MOOSH89 Saskatchewan based (-06:00 CST) available most weekdays 11AM-6PM, Friday-Saturday 4PM-8PM, Sundays... spotty lol

Just Curious; What Level Are You & How Long Have You Been Playing?

Thanks for the info. That's so weird. They really need to add more activities to do soon. Duels, gambling immediately come to mind. Crafting clothing/equipment as well. -
Just Curious; What Level Are You & How Long Have You Been Playing?
Moosh89 replied to KylesDad7's topic in Red Dead Online
Excuse the dumb question but can somebody explain how this works/why? I've seen people sitting at the finish point with caravan wagons and figured there was a reason, I didn't yet know of -
I played the mission where you can go stealth in the woods to get Montez, and then need to escape. I was trying to play stealth like it suggests you do by using the bow. My random teammates were using guns and running in guns blazing. Then upon escaping, they cut downhill back to the cabin through the trees. I didn't realize that the NPC who's guiding you will actually stop and not move if you get too far away, as I remained on the road but booked it as fast as I could to meet my over eager teammates. Once I got to the cabin I realized the mission wasn't triggered to end and these guys just stood around when I decided to ride all the way back to the NPC to help him escape through the completely hushed forests as he still called out perished enemies lol.

Co-op Hunting Glitch which should really be a Perk
Moosh89 replied to Moosh89's topic in Red Dead Online
Added video - discuss! lol -
My brother and I had the weirdest, but most awesome glitch happen yesterday for about an hour while we were hunting together in a posse. It totally revitalized the game for both of us and we hoped it was a secret perk, despite knowing it was too good to be true. We were both using the bow and on foot, crouched tracking various animals around Lemoyne and New Hanover. We discovered that as long as we were both fairly close to each other when we skinned an animal which gives you a pelt which you can stow on your horse, it would give us BOTH the pelt. For instance, I would shoot a deer, boar, coyote, etc. and if he was standing near me (say within 15 feet), and I skinned the animal, on his screen, a second pelt would drop, visible with icon on the minimap AND in the game world rolled up on the ground which he could then pick up and stow on his horse too. Only on my screen, I could not see the second pelt or the animations of him picking it up, holding it or throwing it on his horse. The weirdest part was the EXACT SAME thing would happen vice versa - if he skinned the animal and I was nearby, I could see a second pelt drop, pick it up, and see the animations of myself picking it up, holding it and stowing it on my horse which he could not see. Most of the time, it would give the second person a Perfect pelt, but on occasion it would give us both the same quality (If I skinned it and got a Good pelt, he got a Perfect pelt or Good pelt) In instances where we knew we were too far apart, if I killed an animal, I would pick it up and carry it closer to where he killed one and then skin it. We never got to try it on a Massive class animal that gives you a large pelt, like a bear, elk, moose or bison. We absolutely LOVED this miracle and found ourselves working together more efficiently, with me spotting herds of deer with the binoculars and calling out the best candidates for kills and us planning on taking multiple targets in unison as well as flanking strategies for one of us to get a clean shot if the other one missed. I ended up with a total of 14 pelts, a 3 star coyote carcass, 3 star turkey carcass and 2 star snake carcass on my horse and he for sure had 20 or more pelts on his horse as often I would stow on his horse too. Suddenly another player showed up and loomed over us as we peacefully hunted. I grew suspicious and jumped on my loaded horse and promptly fled to Valentine butcher, and my brother stuck around a bit too long and got murdered, losing ALL his pelts upon death. I made it safely to the butcher and GLEEFULLY sold everything I had for a nifty sum. Later on last night I was with a friend and wondered if it would work again. The differences were that he was a different person with different internet speed, and he shot 3 wolves with a firearm. It did not work again. Hopefully my brother and I can try to replicate this again lol

Hunting is definitely best on foot, preferably crouched and using the bow, but an ideal horse as a hunting companion for my experience is a War horse, like the Hungarian Halfbred, as they are extremely courageous and can't be spooked easy. You can unlock the Hungarian Halfbred at level 24 in multiplayer and find one in the wild in single player as early as Chapter 2, Tip: If you've whistled for your horse and it's following you while you track an animal, focus on your horse with L2 and command it to "Stay". This way it won't scare your target game. I've found that you can whistle for your horse as you skin an animal (mid-animation) despite not actually hearing your character whistle. A War horse is perfect for when you get ambushed by a pack of wolves, a grizzly, cougar or rival gangs (Murfree Brood especially). If it's you that's firing a weapon, the Hungarian Halfbred at Level 4 bonding will merely flick it's ears and bounce ever so slightly. I'm not experienced with other types/breeds yet as I'm still early on in both Singleplayer and Online so this guide definitely helps me understand better and make an informed choice as I level up Online. I find it odd that the Draft horses have more speed/acceleration than War horses or Riding horses

Assuming you've completed the GTA: Online mission a few months back to unlock it, I had this same issue where it never spawned in the center. I simply just kept trying by carrying on with the game and returning until finally it was there. Sorry that I don't have more information, but do know there IS something "off" about it.

At level 24 you can purchase the Hungarian Halfbred (Flaxen Chestnut or Flaxen Piebald Tobiano) for $130. It is a big War horse. I use the Flaxen Chestnut in Singleplayer as Arthur's main horse (because with a matching red mane and tail, it's identical to a horse I had for many years as a kid) and I've very rarely gotten bucked off. You can also shoot from them and they only flick their ears. I'm grinding my way to level 24 so I can purchase the Flaxen Piebald Tobiano, because that one looks a lot like our very first horse we had when I was little (the one that started it all for my family)

Half the time I ride my horse on the roads, I kill about 2 or 3 animals by trampling between destinations. Once that challenge came up, I couldn't kill anything that easy. I ended up locking onto rabbits with L2 and full galloping in a circle chasing them until I killed them lol. I once stepped on a chipmunk 2 times and the little sh*t kept surviving lol

So I went back to the cabin, despite not having a marker and it's boarded up... I'm still in the same chapter I started it in (Chapter 2). Hopefully it opens in one of the next chapters so I can get the cutscene and Old Brass Compass.
-
It's also there, and glowing in Eagle Eye in multiplayer. Knowing I can't get into it... REALLY makes me want to get into it lol. My luck it will be like those wagons in camps with glowing chests that you have to fight to climb into that are empty
-
I'm still currently in Chapter 2, but my next mission will put me in Chapter 3 - I've explored a bit and am able to get into Radley's House in Rhodes. When using Eagle Eye, I can see a red lockbox inside the cupboard in the kitchen, but I can't seem to access it. I've tried shooting the glass door but it only shatters it and the prompt to Open Cabinet only opens the bottom cabinet. Has anyone gotten into it? and if so, when? (photo of cupboard has the glowing lockbox behind the shattered glass)

Question about this: I've completed the rock carvings in Chapter 2, received the rock statue and invitation back to the Sinclair cabin, however the next marker hasn't appeared at the cabin. Will it only appear later in the game?

My brother seems to disconnect quite often, but we are attributing it to his internet as often he drops from our party chat on PS4 as well. Sometimes it comes up as a NAT error too. But what is troubling me the most is it seems posse invites are sporadic these last few days. My brother kept sending me posse invites while we would be standing next to each other and they weren't coming through on my end, and Invites was even greyed out in my Quick Menu. Then my friend tried sending us both a posse invite and same thing. My friend has extremely fast internet too. I even tried closing out of RDR2 altogether to see if rebooting would help, but nope. We then spent the rest of the afternoon fist fighting each other lol

Try this route to Javier Also, take care of those outstanding bounties you appear to have by visiting a Post Office

@Moder - Continue the missions, particularly up to Chapter 2 with a mission from Hosea Matthews called "Exit Pursued by a Bruised Ego". You may be surprised with the options it gives you regarding that particular horse

Found this old girl today after a Murfee Brood encounter. I thought it was neat that she was a Tennessee Walker - I guess there's multiple "scabby"coats for each breed. I took her to the stable and named her "Ugly Betty" (Black Betty!)
-
I believe in the Stable before you purchase a horse you can select Male or Female (if I recall correctly its Left/Right on the directional pad) and wild horses can vary (but I've always read that the White Arabian is always Female) Aside from the different dialogue to your horses, I had hoped there would/will be deeper mechanics with the genders, like perhaps the addition of breeding (but that's pretty "RPG")

Tried channeling a little Doc Holliday from "Tombstone" (1993) today, just need the small bottom lip patch to grow in
