PvP Tip: Tackle & Execute players by shooting in the face.
Moosh89 replied to C20Dragon's topic in Red Dead Online
Yesterday in Up In Smoke, there was a guy running Slippery Bastard with dual sawed off shotguns just running around and blasting us at our base. He got me a few times then I thought to just tackle him. Blowing his face off after tackling him was sweet revenge lol -
Today I noticed I was "too hot" wearing a French Dress shirt, Opulent Vest and Pants in +7 degree (celsius) weather near Flatneck Station all the way into Lemoyne to Caligula Hall... It whittled my health core down significantly

So I had grand visions of setting up a cinematic journey through New Austin while wearing Spanish themed clothing, riding the majestic donkey. It was beautiful, but I wished I had at least two other posse members on donkeys too LOL. I passed a pair of NPC riders and one actually bust out laughing, which made it even better. I also ran into a posse of players who I'm sure laughed as well since they stopped and turned around and waved lol -

What about storing crafting materials in your camp, like herbs, feathers, animal fat, moonshine? You can still only carry 10 pieces on you but what if you could go herb picking and deposit them in your camp, or hunting, looting, etc... It would give another reason to use the camp. -
Cart races were a favourite in RDR1O and I'm excited for them to return... But I'd LOVE full on Chuckwagon races! Three teams of 4 players/posse members. You have a driver and a passenger who can switch reigns/shoot and 2 outriders on horseback. My familiarity of chuckwagon races stems from a family history of "modern day" chuckwagon racing but I've heard the stories of how it originated. You'd have your chuckwagon of 4 horses and a driver/passenger, and the outriders would throw the camp supplies in the back (cook stoves and tents) and the whole posse would race to the next campsite. This could be perfect for RDO as a combat enabled point to point race (with checkpoints). The first 30 seconds, combat is disabled so you can load the wagon, mount up and do a figure 8 pattern. The outriders should have to stay within a certain distance of the wagon once it crosses the finish line otherwise there's penalties in the form of added time to your finish time. You have a driver and passenger who can switch reigns at any time and shoot (if one driver gets shot, the reigns can auto-switch and an outrider can "jump on" while the original driver respawns on horseback a short distance away) Outriders can also shoot either as offense or defense. The wagon can receive damage which slows it but can hit pickups to repair. It cannot be destroyed. I'm sure mechanics can be added to incorporate purchased wagons where you can focus on health or speed. A more sturdy wagon is slower but a faster wagon is weaker. One can even decide which horses get hooked to it, where doing your barreling (figure 8 pattern) needs better handling on the "lead team" and the "pole team" needs more stamina/endurance to get you over the finish line.

Instead of locking them out from being saddled to ride, why not also have a cargo saddle? Make it $1200 RDO and you can carry 2 medium animals and 4 or 5 small animals and more pelts. Make it available for Mules, Donkeys, Draft and Work horses -
A lot of boxes in the game (in wagons especially) will glow with Eagle Eye active but currently they cannot be looted. Maybe they'll add it later on. It used to irritate me at first too lol

The Mule definitely drains quicker than the Donkey but it seems to recharge faster too. If we could saddle them and bond with them I bet their base Health/Stamina would improve -

I think it depends on the breed. Horses like the Tennessee Walker bond very quickly but higher calibre horses take longer. My Red Chestnut Arabian seemed to take forever to reach level 4. Same with my new Turkoman. -
Today I tried Showdown Series and Showdown Series Large, none worked so I submitted a ticket and received this from a "Rockstar expert" <eye roll> Joseph H. 39005 Answers • 100% Helpful Hi, I am Joseph, I am a Rockstar expert. I will be assisting you in this matter today. This is a known bug with the game and Rockstar is currently working on it to get it fixed. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

I found a Mule by the Emerald Ranch Fence. I rode it to Valentine and although it looks to have the same Health/Stamina, I'm pretty sure the Donkey is superior for drain rate lol -

I was sad when I first got RDR2 and couldn't ride (a bucking) bull or oxen... Not as a mount but just as a minigame/stamina endurance challenge. I hated that higher levels in RDR1 Online gave you a bull to ride as a mount. -

I noticed we're getting a lot of Mexican/Spanish themed stuff lately with the clothing especially. One of my new favourite things to do is to ride the little Donkey found at Flatneck Station all over the map, especially down to New Austin. Why these aren't available as mounts is beyond me. It's got a smidgen of health and stamina but it's a surprisingly hearty little bugger! If you time your spurring just right, it goes like the Energizer bunny. It's pretty fast too! I haven't tried finding a Mule yet. That little "Ahss" has my heart and my humour LOL Look at the jealous scowl on my horse though, HAHA "...that B*TCH!" -
Ahh I didn't even notice. I wonder why it doesn't show a "2" in the corner like it does with pelts? Also yesterday I was up around Roanoke Valley/ Brandywine Drop looking for 2 cougars to skin. I killed one 3 star and it took about 2 in game days to find the other, but after the first day I noticed my stored carcass had black rot on it already and was poor condition but the pelt underneath it remained 3 stars after I went down to Saint Denis several in game days later. My first time actually noticing a carcass go bad. It seemed super quick considering I shot that Pronghorn outside Armadillo and sold it in Valentine as 3 stars a few real days ago.

It is a bug. If you have a video clip you can submit it as a link to YouTube as an Unlisted video to Rockstar through a support ticket. They'll credit you 1 gold bar and $175 RDO$

I killed a 3 star Pronghorn Buck outside of Armadillo and sold it at Valentine, it didn't seem to downgrade. I started at Rathskellar Fork and killed everything bigger than a pig on the way back to Valentine lol. I've had small animals stay on the sides of my horse but when I get to the butcher, one disappears.

While I definitely don't agree with the original posters ideas of what would make the game better, I feel like their intentions were good and maybe they just got a little excited before weighing the pros and cons. I'm a bit surprised at the somewhat cold reaction considering this was their first post. Everyone is entitled to share their opinions but I do believe there is a certain way of providing feedback while being conscious of that person's "new" arrival. This game gets a lot of people excited and some even become so engrossed in it. I don't think the OP meant to be cocky, I think they may have been going for more "cheeky". Not sure if we'll be seeing more of this person now lol

I think I'm on Day 27 lol
-
Pretty sure I've been seeing that in my camp since before the Spring update. Maybe it depends on which theme you use?

Figured this doesn't need a separate topic so just discussing here: Dynamic Events can do the ol' switcheroo on you - gotta be careful out there. The sweet lady who got bucked from her horse south of Valentine flagged me down the other night. Damn horse gone and bucked her off and she asked for a ride to Valentine... I had done this countless times so I was like "sure, hop on, I'm heading there anyway" - mashing Square to Accept Escort. Suddenly she pulls her sixgun on me and rips me off my horse! I recover and dust her with my right, knocking her out, then suddenly it seemed like a dozen bandits packing serious firepower appear from all sides and smoke me LOL Gonna be extra cautious next time I see that broad!

Yep, PS4, frequent disconnects today and Showdown Large hasn't worked for me for a couple weeks now

So last night I decided to play in Offensive mode to test how long I could go without incident. I was in Valentine minding my business, looking at the map trying to find where one of the "rescue" dynamic events usually spawns for the daily challenge. A 2 man posse was killing NPCs and chatting about which guns were better. Suddenly I get pulled from my map because one of them gave me a face full of LeMat. I respawn and go looking for my horse thinking "maybe they accidentally shot me" when I get shot again. I pull my Lancaster and get tagged in the face by the same person again. I respawn, and whistle for my horse. I remember I still have 8 dynamite arrows from a care package a long time ago... These two guys are still casually chatting, "buddy" doesn't even mention that he's engaged in a fight with me. I catch him rounding the corner taking aim at me again but I dismembered him with a dynamite arrow. I figure he got what he had coming and turn to leave when this dude, not even joking complains that I randomly killed him with a dynamite arrow hahahaha and that "she's trying to hightail it!". I IMMEDIATELY stop and turn around and blast him once more to even the score, since he had a bead on me already. Then his partner comes to "rescue" him, running Paint It Black and dual sawed offs (pretty OP and not much "skill" needed), but I'm done at this point as I don't want to waste any more of my stash (as I'm only level 54). "Big man" gets a stiff one so swole I could hear it in his annoying voice as he brags about how he's destroying me "before she even sees me!" (relax D-ink Smallwood, you're the least of my concern right now). I respawn and slowly walk around unarmed and laughing my ass off at the tangent this incel is going on. He's launched into a sexist rant about "f----ing women, she's going to parley and call her boyfriend" yada yada. I just wave at him whenever he finds me, die, respawn, wait and wave some more. At this point the only thing I'm losing is my time, the Raptors play in about 30 minutes and I'd like to get at least one more daily done... "Moosh... Moosh, I know that name, I've seen her before! I just sit and stare at some usernames for like 15 minutes, I know that s--- like the back of my hand!" (BOOOY Cool your eggroll, I would remember a turd like you if we'd met before. Maybe you've seen me on a forum somewhere). I got some thick skin, I have a very twisted mind and I can think of some evil things to get even but it really costs too much energy that most don't deserve to have spent on them. Then Mr Knight in Shining Armour can't contain his swollen member anymore and starts going off on "what [ I ] need" and "what [I'm] not getting at home", and not joking I could hear him getting off on the digital butt of my character. This dude is too far gone, there's no hope for him to ever smash (take good care of that fleshlight, pal). I saved the whole thing and I soooo wish that the PS4 Share function captures the in-game voice chat in RDR2 but it doesn't lol. So this post will have to do to show how much of a tool this poor "kid" is. (If he's older than 21, lord have mercy on his soul hahaha) No username dropping, but if he truly has seen me somewhere, I hope it's here LOL Griefers gon' grief...

Yesterday I found an influx of players riding up to me while I was in Defensive mode, minding my business and aiming at me or pulling out their knife or lasso while approaching me. I checked one's level and they were 35 so not necessarily a new player. I'd pull out my Pump Action shotgun or Lancaster repeater and give them a staredown. Some rode off and some shot me once or pulled me from my horse. I killed some while stuck in Free aim from being in Defensive mode and they moved on. Then I spawned into a fresh session just outside of Blackwater and immediately reactivated Defensive mode. Within the 30 seconds it took to enable a player from a posse rode up to me and shot me in the body with lock on aim. I locked onto him and shot once, then Defensive kicked in and we couldn't lock onto each other anymore. He rode off and I called my horse to leave. Just as I got to my horse he headshot me with the bow as I was mounting up. Then I notice his whole posse was red and they started talking over their headsets. The guy who killed me asked his posse leader how I was able to turn my dot invisible and why he couldn't lock onto me. The leader said that I probably entered Defensive mode. This thought just came to me. What if there was a meter system similar to the wild horses who will become spooked when you lock onto them? If I'm in Defensive mode and a player in Offensive mode comes up to me and keeps their reticule on me for over 2 seconds, I can look back at them and press Square if I'm feeling threatened to tag them as a hostile player. Once they shoot me once while I have them tagged as hostile I should be able to lock onto them. If I kill them, I could not incur a hostility increase or Murder charge. The key mechanic is they have to shoot or strike me first. This way it cannot be abused, because right now, people are waiting for me to make the first move of action, as if they're baiting me.

Now on PS4 Update 1.10 Showdown works but Showdown Large does not. I tried at a Showdown Large outpost, through the Quick Menu and from the Home Screen. I had to reboot the game between each try. Couldn't finish all 7 Daily challenges because of it. Anyone else still having this issue before I report it? (In case there's something else I can try)
