Lvl 94???

Hey y'all

So I finally get a Alden mission to actually start up, (escort wagon). Suddenly I get attacked by a player that is lvl 94. He survives 4 direct hits with my pump shotgun, then I'm dead, of course.

I message him and ask him if he found that challenging?, lvl 94 vs lvl 21. I also broke the first rule of email protocol.

I wrote a message in anger! Not a good idea y'all. Messages sent to players that appear in the player list are sent using Xbox Live it appears. Big Brother and the thought police are a powerful team.

I got an email informing me that I had been found in violation of Xbox Live EULA, and was banned from playing most of my games for 24 hours.

I now have ammunition myself for some griefers.

How is someone lvl 94??? I smell a R* employee, and he stinks.

Just wanted to share.

This reminds me of a similar thread with another member who lost their cool and used the console messaging.

Doesn't matter what happens in the game.  The message they see when that other player reported you is what you're being judged on and both MS and Sony take these things very seriously.  ....they have to.

Yeah, good message for others that may be thinking of doing it.  ....just don't.  It's not worth it and now in your case it's lvl 94 player for the win at 2 to 0.

What I do is immediately block them and use the in-game reporting feature if appropriate.  In this case, it sounds like the other guy was simply playing the mission as designed since you are a target for everyone else on those escort jobs.  That's not griefing if that's the case.

btw, lvl 94 is nothing at this stage in the beta.  There are plenty of 100+ players out there and likely more than we see that have simply quit due to a lack of content.  I'm at about 50 myself and I'm pretty casual about how I play.  If I put my mind to it and started grinding a while back, I could easily have been at that level too by now.

I personally have never seen a player that high a level. Still suspect "Gamemasters" from R*.

He bailed from the game before I could block, suspicious. Or maybe he got disconnected like I do all day long.

I must be really hard headed, cause I log back into this beautiful game. or and over.

I'm not pulling your leg.  I regularly run into players over lvl 50 and typically at least one over lvl 100 in each session.

As Burbon mentioned, there are others even much higher.

Seriously, it's not a hard thing to achieve at this stage in the game.  There are even players around here on these forums who are at that level.

i am lvl l48 and i would be insta killef by shot gun. it might be latency in the game. we all know its bad for lag etc in showdown or he had bad internet. maybe cheating sometimes i come across a player i suspect is rubber banding or modded controller.  i got a psn warning in december for messaging a griefer. now i keep calm ;). i dont know how you would react to me if i decided to destroy your wagons with dynamite arrows i guess you would rage. tbh the missions are waste of time for me. i helped 2 players last night. not sure if they realised it but i stopped a posse going after them in great plains. maybe do missions in areas that has no players.

With all due respect - the game intends rival online players to sabotage your missions - the attacker gets rewards for it. Furthermore a player playing and a rival mission pops up on screen will not check your level before he decides to attack you. Naturally he will have more protection against a shotty, but there are plenty of low levels that still can win from high level players in this game. Again agreed the higher level player has some advantages abilitycardwise and ammowise, but headshots are headshots.

In regards to the banning and mailing someone or saying stuff in gameschat to the other, I believe we are all guilty of it. In my opinion that is just a part of emotion that pops up and I believe everyone is quilty of it at some time (myself included), however reporting people for something like this is a bit over the top. Ther might be instances when it is justified, don't get me wrong, but e.g. in the case you describe I think it is uncalled for, but I don't know exactly what happened so cannot judge.

And indeed although I haven't seen a lvl200+ myself there are a lot of players who play frequently that are well over lvl 100. I am lvl 144 now and most of my posse members are in between lvl 90 and 160. Most of the dedicated players have stopped grinding XP efficiently and are more focused on gold grinding and buckles as there are no real rewards for levelling above lvl 100 (besides treasure maps every 5 lvls).

Doing stranger missions solo is just not a good idea, getting people to join or joining a posse yourselves should not be that hard. That is my opinion though.

There are people well over 200 by now, I believe I heard about one in rank 300.

Yep last week i played few PvP games against a lvl 346.... The crazy thing is the guy was not that good (Ok he was in the top 1/3 ranking in each game but he never won).   Unfortunately I don't remember his GT.

A part from this one i saw few players lvl +200 as well, but its pretty unsual

Well thanks for all the responses. It sounds like solo playing is my issue as far as XP goes. My connection prohibits me from trying posse play because I don't want to crash the lobby.

I play everyday for several hours and just cracked lvl 22.

Any ideas on gaining XP fast playing solo welcomed.

Showdown would be your best bet IF you are trying to do it fast. You can still grind missions solo. Just go in areas with little to no traffic. Replaying the story missions pays ok. The Teddy Brown mission provides a descent amount of Xp.

@jnaron_ngcMyself and @Major Dammidge replay the "kill each and everyone" mission, the one with Teddy Brown fox xp grind. We average about $45.00-$50.00 and around 926xp. Max xp we have received in that mission is 973. Plus the xp from all the npcs kills. Also make sure you are using special ammo, they give you 50 rounds of split point to use.

Thanks for the respect there BurbonChaser, I understand it is game mechanic to let other players and NPC's attack on that mission.

I get head shot all the time, no biggy, kids will be kids. What made me mad was how rare it is for me get a mission to start correctly. Then along comes lvl 94 and bang it's over. Just a different kind of fail than usual. Maybe next time.

I like tearing up a town every now and again.  What i do is find one where no one is near and start shooting.  ....usually from rooftops, a pier, etc.  It's a way to mix things up a bit and accumulate XP especially once the law begins arriving.  We tore up Blackwater last night and had quite a bit of fun doing it.  ....got killed several times but we really racked up the experience points.

IIRC, you get 5 xp per kill, 5 more for headshots, 5 for targets on horseback, 5 for distance and 5 when you use special ammo (e.g. Express, High Velocity, etc.).  .....so in my case, I'm getting a guaranteed 10 xp per kill and 15 thru 25 on others.

It can get boring as with anything you do in repetition and your honor level will decrease (if that's a concern for you), but I simply see it as a way to still make progress while trying to mix things up a bit.  You might find it fun but if you don't, there are other ways.

There's so many nooks and crannies in some of these towns or areas where you can park yourself in a tight spot and wait for them to pile up at the door or come up a ladder.  It's fantastic.

There's a train car in St. Denis, the top of the roof at Heartlands Oil, the hayloft at the livestock auction in Valentine.... and many, many more.

Am I the only one struggling to reach 100? I have never seen anyone over 200 let alone 300 but hot damn... Those people must have a lot of free time.

I'ts not just you.  I'm only level 11.  I'd be at 50+ but I reset my character about four or five times.

And I roll solo a lot.  That slows me down.

I have been tempted to reset myself. I am level 39 now I think and that is what is hindering me from doing it but I feel like a fresh start would make me more interested again.

For me it was purely that I never felt right about the face.  Now that I have someone who looks like, "laudanum -addled, overall-clad, shirtless, alcoholic with a heart of gold" I'm good to go, but the last few weeks have been slow going.  I'll get there eventually, but next weekend is a wash for me with The Divsion 2 Beta going live for four days.

I'd better buckle down.

I have to disagree....

I can honestly say I have never thrown insults at people in chat let alone bothered to send them a message.  As for being trolled myself, I will report them based on how bad it is.  If someone is going to show me a complete lack of respect by doing something like that, why should I care about them?  I report it.

Fair enough, I know I have been guilty of calling someone a *ick or somethign else for shooting me in the face during an animation a few times. I personally think that most have playing this game. Reporting someone would be my last thing to do and things must have been very very bad then. To each it's own standard I guess :)

I'm much the same way. Although I have mocked some people that tried to insult me. But I'm fairly diplomatic. I had one guy try to take a hideout from me so I rushed the leader and finished it. He still tried to shoot me afterwards. I went into game chat and just said "bruh, it's over, please stop". And surprisingly he did stop and went about his way. I sometimes will go into game chat to warn someone or just reassure them I'm friendly. But I never trade insults.

Buuuuut, I did add a dash of salt once when I said "how's it feel to be stomped by a girl?" to someone who was really trying super hard to mess with me. Only time he got me was when he rushed me with dead eye and the semi shotgun.

Weaponized toxic masculinity?  I don't know how to feel about that.

Well I noticed when I actually bother to speak they sometimes get upset cuz they realize I'm a woman or in some cases they think I'm a kid. Burns them up a bit. Their salt feeds me.

A few of the girls I play with are complete lunatic... lvl 100+ bitches.

Like.. if I decide to stand next to a cliff and enjoy the view of water fall.  They always gotta push me off.

Standing there drinking a beer.. They just gotta hog tie me.

They are worse than most of the griefers I encounter in this game.

I watched them one night say hello to a passer by..  He says hello back. They throw him off his horse and than beat the crap out em.

Guy respawns and says "WTF"?

I tell em.  You think that's bad.. "Trying be friends with these bitches".  Only to get tackled from behind and hog tied again by one of them.. and left to squirm on the ground.

The random guys says "You shouldn't call woman bitches".   So one of the girls blasts him the head with a sawed off as says.  "He can call us what ever he wants".

Lol...  Good times.

I'll do a lot of that to my friends but not randoms unless they asking for trouble. I did hogtie a friend and set up 16 dynamite around his body then wanted for him to come back from afk to set it off. Or one of my friends was sniping us for fun on a cliff edge and I snuck up behind him and pushed him and myself off. One of my friends IGN is Insanity, and she lives up to the name.

Women are vicious man...
