Who says that is all anyone wants to do? Perhaps we want to level up, hunt, fish, pick herbs and kill NPCsin free roam (without di*ks killing us mid animation or a millisecond after leaving a cutscene, or sniped when trying to go to the shop etc) so we have money and experience when we choose to enter structured PVP events such as showdown modes, or free roam missions, or other times when there is an actual reason to enter into combat with other players and everyone is in on the pending gunfight...

If only they would do separate lobbies then everyone wins. Because I personally don't like to do structured pvp all the time. What drew me into the online portion was the free roam pvp thing (plus I couldn't find any other decent mmo to play that suited my needs). I came from another mmo that had the same free roam pvp set up and I played it for 7 years straight until the company finally ran it into the ground too much for me to enjoy playing.

Oh so you want to level on easy mode then compete. Ok gotcha 👍

I am fine with most of the changes they have done but there needs to be more that are inclined to players and less inclined to work in favor of them making money off the game. I know some others have mentioned it but I feel like they are heading down a bad path at the moment. Not so much on here but other places, talking with friends, people at the local Game Stop... A lot of people are walking away from the game already.

No, I want to play FarmVille, or hunting simulator, or whatever other stupid game Griefers fling out there in an effort to hurt my feelings...

Seriously, I don’t see how getting your head blown off while helpless in the fishing animation, or stepping out of a cutscene without even the benifit of a mini map, or any of the other million ways Griefers use to get a cheap kill makes the game harder... just more annoying. And I’ve said it before, I don’t understand what people get out of killing players for no reason in free roam. It’s not like you can loot the bodies for money or goods. You get minimal  XP. At least now you get punished with a tiny bounty. It’s just a big waste of time, and I have better things to do than spend my hour or so every day or two I actually get online than getting into endless expensive gunfights with di*ks that have too much time on their hands and daddy’s credit card number.

48 players ? Scroll down and you see that there is 24, its a bug and again im only seeing around 15 but whatever. Time Will tell and the reports from the media seems to back that up wich isnt suprising when there is so little to do online

Lol well if the media say’s so I guess it must be true..

most of the articles I’ve read about Red Dead Online have been negative from the start. The journo’s errrr, sorry  I mean the “Bloggers” that freelance for them have been completely biased.

I wonder why this could be...???

in fact many of the “writers” themselves admit they don’t even play the game lol and most of the articles are all copy and paste jobs, so if they aren’t playing where are they getting their info from? The yellow arrow click bait YouTube goof troopers? Come on lol. In every forum I’ve joined, for every new game I’ve played threads like these are common place.

Go on YouTube and according to everyone there EVERY new game is dying lol.

Player base fluctuate’s. Trends and algorithms my friend 🧐😉 People are still playing and enjoying this game and many others.

and there’s lots to do.

Am i the only one actually finding the online good nowadays? 😯

I like the new adjustments, and i LOVE the dailys.. Its good for levelling, and its also cool to be held active.

If Rockstar follows their "Every Tuesday" updates, im more than happy!

I know there was about 23 on out of 40 something (normally see 20-27 in a session on average). So I figured they increased how many players could be in a session and this one wasn't full yet. I guess it could be a glitch much like how your cores are black sometimes but doesn't actually affect you at all.

Also the media loves to jump on the doom and gloom bandwagon. But I feel it's just as lively as it's been. Although we did have a somewhat quiet day the other day. Lotta peaceful players in that session until we met some people we had beef with and sh*t hit the fan and it was a gun fight involving 3-4 posses lol.

254? $20,000? How many exploits did you use to get there?

Doesn't take an exploit to get that high and that much money. Just takes someone who plays a lot and knows how to manage their time/money. Also being in a posse helps also, if he was in a posse.

After you wrote about the 20 mins missions, and not completing, i have not been able to do it 1 single time.

Everyone i play with thinks the same as i did first. To complete missions as quickly as possible. (SHAME)

I really want to get max XP and money out of it.. But i guess that makes sence, that if you are in a posse with 4 friends.. its easier to do and explain to your mates, how it works.

I mean I get it, I didn't understand until I was rank 25 and joined a posse that knew what to do. I mean that's generally the way every other mmo works except RDO and I guess gtao. So Rockstar is just being ass backwards for whatever reason.

And most people when we explain it to them don't believe it until it happens.

If nothing else you can do some real life stuff, or hunt and fish or mess around, do some gun maintenance. Sometimes my posse will split and half will carry the mission other half will do whatever unless we know we're entering a danger zone. Then take turns switching it up. Sometimes only one or two will do it while the rest distract enemy players, etc. All about that teamwork and time management.

I got pulled off by Far Cry New Dawn and Battlefield V and just haven;t felt the urge to get back on. I'm off tomorrow so I had planned on logging on to check out the new patch, but again, I just don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

As it was told to me about the Alpha, is the way I would advise players about TD2.  However you felt about the 1st is the way you will feel aobut the 2nd.  That is the way it felt to me and the others I played with this weekend.  If felt very much like the exact same game, yet it's differences didn't make it seem any different  at  to me.

That's a fair assessment, I'd say.  Most of the changes have been to some of the core mechanics to increase the value of tactics in the phrase "tactical shooter", and it's going to be interesting how endgame builds develop once players progress to that point.

Out of grouping up with about 20 different players and different times this weekend, it seemed pretty unamious that none of them was interested in buying the sequel, when they are already have the original.  :).

I am still currently still on the bubble, and it being more about co-op gaming then solo or PvE or PvP.  I have to agree, I can do most of the stuff I experienced this weekend in the orignal.  I could see why players would want to play something a little different though.  It just not much different.

....and those changes have had a big impact on the gameplay.  The damage model has forced players to utilize cover and tactics.  It's way more fun in that aspect IMO.  Well placed shots will also take down enemies that once would have required several magazines.

I would say the game feels familiar but not necessarily the same.

What I have been noticing are some folks who loved TD1 but don't like the changes in TD2.  .....nothing new there  but then there are a lot of folks who (like me) welcome many of the changes and additions they have made.

I have no doubt TD2 will succeed for Ubi regardless of its detractors.  .....pick any title and it's the same story.  I thought FC5 was a hot mess as well as all my friends (it actually killed the franchise for me) but I still knew it would be a success in terms of sales.

What I am wondering if whether or not this is an actual bug. Like showing 48 players in a number of lobbies where there is clearly half or less the amount... Maybe it is intentional so people feel like the game is super active?
