CrabApples
Tis the season to get into arguments with friends, family, and random people on the internet! I say it is not a Christmas film but has become a Christmas tradition. What say you? Vote above and share your thoughts in the comment section below. Don't forget to give this video a like! Parzival
Of course it's a Christmas movie. Is this not a Christmas tree on the right?
EjectedCasings
Ya know, my parents argue all the time about this...
MadMatt
Voting yes because it was released in July as a "Christmas in July" movie. That was a big part of the marketing around it.
mizTik
Nope. It is not. I don't care what people want to say. The movie is an action classic. Putting it in the Christmas genre is like spitting on the film. Most Christmas movies suck. I refuse to put it in that genre.

Coyote
I don't know why people still argue over this. The whole move is trashed with Christmas joy. If this isn't a Christmas movie then neither is Home Alone.
Parzival
Not only that, it's a family movie, too. Just like Deadpool 2.
redscrew
Voted no. I never saw the film. I honestly just like getting under people's skin with pointless stuff. I have the same argument with my brother over the movie every Christmas. He is yet to win me over on it and get more and more pissed the older he gets. lol

I know the basis of it and it is an action film that happens to have Christmas props. It could have happened at a Halloween party and nothing else would have changed in the story.

If it would have happened at a sex toy party instead of a Christmas party, then it would be a porno flick.

Exactly, so therefor Die Hard is a Christmas movie.

HIGHHorse
If the story takes place on or around Christmas, it can be considered a Christmas movie, same for every other holiday. Case closed!

Yeah it has a light Christmas overlay to it. I don't count that. I feel like that was nothing but marketing.
Parzival
Die Hard is as much of a Christmas movie as Miracle on 34th Street, Jingle All The Way, and Batman Returns are.
BropolloCreed79
Late to the party on this, but there's a tradition in my house: December 23: Trading Places December 24: Die Hard December 25: Daddy's Home 2 (for the kids)

Jingle All The Way deals with the insanity of shopping for Christmas. I don't count the others as Christmas films. I am a bit stubborn with what I classify into these kinds of genres though.
