PLAY FRONTIER PURSUITS FREE ROAM EVENTS FOR SPECIAL BONUSES AND MORE THIS WEEK

ROLE FREE ROAM EVENT XP BONUSES
SPECIAL BOOSTS FOR BOUNTY HUNTERS, TRADERS, AND COLLECTORS
Bounty Hunters, Traders and Collectors roaming the frontier this week will receive 25% Character XP and Role XP boosts when they take on any Role-specific Free Roam Events in Red Dead Online. These Free Roam Events are only available to players who have reached the required rank in the associated Role. These include:

DAY OF RECKONING
Compete against other Bounty Hunters to capture wanted targets and return them for points, with the more dangerous or difficult ones being worth more.
(2-8 Players, Requires Bounty Hunter Rank 4)

MANHUNT
Bounty Hunters must work together to apprehend wanted targets across a designated area, many of which are defended by equally armed and dangerous henchmen.
(2-12 Players, Requires Bounty Hunter Rank 4)

TRADE ROUTE
Here Traders get to show off their defensive skills as all participants must safeguard a train laden with goods from attacking bandits.
(2-12 Players, Requires Trader Rank 4)

CONDOR EGG
A rare and valuable Condor Egg has been spotted in the area - find it before your opponents do to reap the benefits.
(2-12 Players, Requires Collector Rank 4)

SALVAGE
A wreck has scattered valuable collectibles across the designated area. Find as many as you can but be careful as enemy bandits are also scouring the terrain and will attack to protect what they've found.
(2-12 Players, Requires Collector Rank 4)

BONUS ROLE XP
COMPLETE ROLE ACTIVITIES AND CLAIM XP REWARDS IN THE BENEFITS SECTION
Whether you're new to one of the Frontier Pursuits or pushing to make your way to Distinguished status, there are 2,000 Role XP bonuses for each of the Specialist Roles. 

Returning a Legendary Bounty will reward you with 2,000 Bounty Hunter XP, while successfully executing a Trader Sell Mission anytime this week will yield 2,000 Trader XP. Collectors who assemble the Gold Panners Dream Weekly Collection (Ojeda Rose Gold Bangle Bracelet, 1797 Gold Eagle and Gold Pocket Watch) and sell it to Madam Nazar will receive 2,000 Collector XP. Meanwhile, completing any Moonshiners Story Mission will get you 2,000 Moonshiner XP. 

Each 2,000 Role XP bonus will be awarded in two 1,000 XP installments via the Offers & Rewards section inside the Red Dead Online pause menu.

FEATURED FREE AIM SERIES: LAST STAND
THIS WEEK'S SHOWCASED COMPETITIVE MODE


Scratch that itchy trigger finger in this week's Featured Free Aim Mode. Last Stand, which pits cold-blooded killers against each other in a free-for-all with only one left standing, is available to play via the Featured Series now through January 20th.

BENEFITS
ONGOING BENEFITS FOR PLAYING RED DEAD ONLINE
This week's Red Dead Online Benefits include 30% off the price of any Rifle available via local Gunsmiths or the Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Catalogue for all players, while PlayStation Plus members receive a free colorway of the Leavitt Jacket.

And for those preparing to embark on any of the original three Frontier Pursuits, the cost of the Butcher Table, Bounty Hunter License and Collector's Bag have each been discounted by 5 Gold Bars (the Collector's Bag is still available free for players who connect their Social Club account with Twitch Prime - along with the Polished Copper Moonshine Still upgrade and an additional 10% discount on Rifles this week, visit Twitch Prime to sign up).

  Did R* fix animal spawns and camp spawns?  I haven't been online to check yet.  But since that is the two biggest game breaking issues at the moment and has been for a long time.   You would think that would be the top priority in terms of 'updates' .

 

Id rather their update say.  "WE FIXED ANIMALS.. WE FIXED CAMPS"     

 

...And another 'featured' free aim game mode.  Why does R*  treat us like unwanted bastard step children.  

Id like some 'featured' free aim co-op missions.  And would love me some 'featured' free aim free roam please.

Well I did just download a 3 gig update. So something was added or changed.

Whelp, fingers crossed I guess.  Im gonna go check.

Joined 3 games.  No animals :(

 

Yet, in those 3 games.  My camp spawned instantly.   Not sure if R* fixed it, or I just got lucky.  Since camps are hit and miss.

I think the animal spawns and camp issues are going to be something that would (could) be addressed on their end without the need to feed a hotfix or patch to us.  Problem is that they rarely mention fixes like this and folks simply notice changes.  

I'm not sure I've ever seen patch notes for fixes they take care of on their end either now that I think of it.

Either way, the Twitter comments for this update included literally hundreds of likes for the many comments about addressing animal spawns.  I would suggest folks like some of those comments too or perhaps add one of their own.  R* does see this stuff and maybe they'll finally say something about it and/or get the fix in place sooner rather than later:

No animals in Amberino and New Hannover. You hear them, but invisible!!! Shack sometimes still empty.  Free roam missions missing. So, don't know what's solved in update.

Until they fix the constant disconnects, none of these bonuses have any value to me.  It has gotten to the point that I am lucky to be able to spend more than 5-10 minutes in the game after log in.  I'll log in to find myself a mile away from camp, as usual, after selecting the "camp" option, and disconnect before I can even get to camp with the animals I collect along the way.  No missing animal issue for me yet, but it does me no good when I lose everything to a disconnect anyway.  Taking a break from the game until I hear that the issue is fixed.  A friend just gifted me GTA V on steam, can get some shooting practice in there while I wait.

Right now the amounts of frustration have surpassed every tiny idea of fun in this game as i see on twitter, forums etc. I'm so very glad i'm logging for about 5-10 mins maximum just for a few challenges every day and saving myself from this. Seriously rockstar should be ashamed of this monstrosity. I tried to support them a lot in the past knowing that it's still "early" for fixes and stuff by encouraging people to open tickets, trying to put suggestions, bug reports and all these cute things but they're clowns and i see the same repeating  story as red dead 1 multiplayer of 2012. Just sad.

OMG F-ME.... They f'ing hate us and are 100% not listening... in fact, at this point it feels like a troll job

They upped the player count in servers!!!   The max number of players I have ever seen in a session is 24.

After downloading today's update, I login and am in a server with 26 people... curious, I stayed in the player menu to see how high it would go.  As soon as it hit 30, my system had a hard crash and I was booted to the main title screen.

 

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   F U ROCKSTAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Anyone know where their offices are AT?? I want to beat one of them to within an inch of their life... revive them... and DO IT AGAIN!!!   OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!   at least until they fix the game of course

Again, there really isn't any news yet on this front. I've even been trying to get some kind of acknowledgment of the issue rom Support or confirmation they are working on it with no luck.

I do recall what I thought was a brief mention of it in one of the other patches but nothing really acknowledging the problem.

This is from the 12/13/19 patch notes, where they do acknowledge the problem and blatantly lie about having fixed the problem... class action lawsuit time?

Improvements to networking have been made that will reduce the frequency of problems with ambient wildlife populations in large Red Dead Online sessions

I gotta feeling the game is due to complability out of control . It's frustating, but that what's keep us busy on this forum …………… lol🤣

Well i played for about 3 hours yesterday and didnt notice any improvement what so ever. Animals still gone. I havent been able to finish a single Cripps supply mision regarding a wild animal to hunt (Gator, deer etc.) I literally run around all the swamp area and there is not a single gator in the zone....... 

Oh one thing changed: it seems they changed the daily quests a bit - i saw some that werent in game for a while. Last weeks dailys were almost all the same. There are some really cool challenges that coul be implemented from story mode like : Kill 4 player's (in showdown) using the same tomahawk (only throw, not meele), Kill 4 players or NPC's at once using one explosive charge, and others that are more difficult than just shoot 3 ppl in the head or from cover... 

And the day before the update i had 26 ! dailys instead of 19.    

The way i see it goes im loosing hope for them to give us players what we want and what could be given, When Cyberpunk comes here i think ill quit for a looong time.

I think things are starting to hit a boiling point.    The person in charge of RD O needs to be fired.

 

R* is literally killing off its player base.    The animals and camp issues have been an issue for nearly 6 months.    We all know that the issue happens when too many players are in a game.    Theres zero reason for there not to be a private lobby till they fix it.

 

Some people will say its a risk vs reward thing.  But that's a load of crap.  Because only solo players suffer in public lobbies and everything is TIME BASED.  Time based progression is there to push people to buy gold.   Money is only used for ability cards, everything else can be purchased with gold.

R* says they don't want to split the player base.  But they split the player base up constantly for everything.  Even free roam is limited to how many players can play.

R* silence on the matter is also starting to annoy players.     No animals for months, but R* will instantly fix gold bar glitches in a few days.  

And of top of that.  They seem to be mostly catering to new players with their XP bonus and discounts.  Which is a slap in the face to players who actually play the damn game and put up with R*s bullsh*t.  Which seeing their Twitter feed, just shows how everyone is on the same page in terms of being SICK of this BS.

 

 

At this point.   Im just waiting for R* to finally add the PC story mode items to xbox.  (which they already released on PS as EXCULSIVE).    (MY BRAIN HURTS EVEN TRYING TO EXPLAIN THAT)..  Just so I can play one more time through campaign.

Then its Resident Evil 3... Cyper Punk time.   And maybe, come Summer.   sh*t will actually work in RD O.

Had that mission a while ago. But it was broken. Forced me to fast travel to my shack then I had to ride to Valentine but buyer couldn’t be taken off revenue agent’s horse so I had to let timer run down before I could go back to what I was originally doing.

Mine was in valentine, but he was locked in a prison coach.

I don't always make use of the weekly bonuses and what not but I have to give it to them for being consistent with it, for the most part. I mean the game still has its issues but at least they are giving people things to do.
