  1. My beef wasn't necessarily with the OPs stance on skill with auto aim but the whole sense of pride and accomplishment some feel about "skillz" in a freakin' GAME. ......and their desire to brag about it to everyone else as if it were some sort of life accomplishment to be proud of. Call me when you're making six figures on the competitive gaming circuit and endorsements, then I might be impressed. ......I said might. Personally, I could give two craps about K/D ratios, stats, etc. As long as my friends and I are having fun, that's all that matters. ....and yeah, a little ribbing / gloating in that context is fine.

  2. Maybe I'm just trying to build everyone else's self esteem. Or maybe I'm sluggish on the controls because "whiskey".

  3. Id stop playing if they reset the game at this point. I cannot for the life of me stand GRINDING levels.. just to gain access to stuff that I need to buy with money or gold. If it was up to me there would be no levels in this game. Just a money/gold grind free for all.

  5. Obviously, it's about this dopey-faced goober being the best RDR2 player. There's only one Champ:

  6. I'll take action on that, if only for the fact that they don't care about what we think. If anything, they'll just refund everyone's Gold to the original value or amount purchased, but that's all they'd really have to do to satisfy any legal requirements. Exactly what they would do. It's the simplest solution. It's a competitive business. And late February through March is going to be insane for gaming releases (assuming they don't delay Anthem or The Division 2). I know that I'm not overly enthused with the online portion of RDR2 at the moment, but they have about two months to get me engaged before I jump ship. High praise. It's a fantastic game, to be sure, and one of the best I've played in a long time, but "the best game ever"? I don't think I'd go that far. This guy gets it. I've been adamant since the day Gold launched during beta that purchasing it should be avoided at all costs; anything can be rolled back for any reason during beta--that's why it's a "beta". And I've seen it happen too many times in the past to believe differently. I'd be willing to bet fewer than 1% of games go through a beta process without substantive changes--and the types of changes we're talking about usually have significant alterations (both directly and indirectly) to core game mechanics, and in this instance, the in-game economy. They won't see a dime from me until they release a finished product. Ask people who sunk money into the Marvel Heroes Omega on PC, PS4, and XB1 how they feel about the money they spent--as big a cautionary tale as there is. We all know RDR Online is under no threat of shuttering within six months, but the fact that it's in beta and will continue to be for the foreseeable future is a HUGE red flag for myself and others when it comes to pouring more cash into the game.

  7. Is it just me or are griefer's skills diminishing? For the last few nights, I've had people come after me. While they may have caught me off guard and got the initial kill, vengeance is ultimately mine as I return the favor tenfold killing them multiple times with ease. Last night, I was playing solo and easily fended off an attack from a posse of 3 who thought they could easily take advantage of this lone wolf. They thought wrong dude! I normally will give other players a wide berth, but you mess with the bull, you get the horns!

  8. Can someone explain to me how to get the best out of your horse? I feel like all my horses have been mentally challenged online so far. I always make sure they are well fed and all that and do the training and what have you but my horses seem to peak in high school so to speak. lol

  9. Oh, and then there's the wagons that are hiding in the trees at crossroads that suddenly pull out in front of you like they were just waiting for you to come by. Ugh. Initially, this dynamic really aggravated me quite a bit. But then when I started thinking about it, it's kind of like adding something of a Mario Cart mechanic to the game. A bit of Arcade flavor, dexterity and awareness, mixed into an open world RPG/shooter. /shrug What's wrong with that? Nothing. As long as you can avoid the crash, that is. There in lies the trick! lol

  10. 2018 was a big year for Red Dead Redemption 2. Now that we're past the few early waves of bug fixing patches and Red Dead Online is up and running, it's time for the game to truly blossom in 2019. Rockstar has been open about their dedication to supporting the game with content going forward, so here are a few predictions and hopes for the game. Red Dead Online DLC It may not technically count as a prediction if we know for sure that it will happen, but here it is anyway. Red Dead Online is going to see additional content, following a model similar to Grand Theft Auto Online. DLC is going to be free for all players and is going to bring new activities, game modes, items and content for your to sink your teeth into. Expect plenty of new goods to blow gold bars on - the whole financial model behind the free DLC for these games is that they work as an incentive for people to buy into the microtransactions, which in turn generate enough revenue to make sure that future DLC is also free. What will these updates include? More clothes, more weapons, more horses, more Showdown Series types, possibly more Strangers missions. Rockstar may also be planning less conventional stuff that we can't predict off hand. We're eager to see what the very first Red Dead Online DLC is going to be! Story DLC This one is less of a given, but we're still confident and hopeful that Red Dead Redemption 2 itself will be expanded with further content, not just Online. GTA 5 got passed over for the single player DLC treatment because of the breakaway success of GTA Online, but maybe this time the situation will be different. That said, Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn't exactly lend itself to a story expansion - the ending leads straight into Red Dead Redemption, and throughout the campaign, there aren't many time-jumps or blank periods that could be filled in with DLC. If there were to be story DLC added, it would likely act as a prequel. What happens before the events in Blackwater set off the story? Maybe we could get a glimpse of the early days of the Van Der Linde gang, and possibly play as a young Dutch? Undead Nightmare 2 This is more of a hope and less of a prediction since realistically the chances are pretty slim. That said, zombies never go out of style, and there would be plenty of ways to incorporate this into the game. We know that almost all of Red Dead Redemption's map is present in Red Dead Redemption 2. Mexico is inaccessible, but after someone found a way to glitch through the invisible wall, it was revealed that most of it is actually there, just devoid of props. An Undead Nightmare 2 expansion would be a great opportunity to add in a complete and explorable Mexico area. That Aztec mask could make a re-appearance, unleashing the zombie plague across the land. Since Undead Nightmare is non-canon by default, this happening wouldn't pose any continuity issues. What are your hopes and predictions for Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2019? 11. Yeah, mine is definitely the top image, I think its cool and I do have a map which is a bonus. Luckily for me, this is one series of games my wife actually likes. I played red dead revolver and started rdr on PlayStation, after I got married I switched sides and went to the Xbox 360 and finished rdr and gun and undead nightmare. Her one and only good comment about any games are when I played gun and rdr........she said I really liked watching you play this game. So when I heard about rdr2 coming out I put a bug in her ear and on Christmas morning it unfolded to be an Xbox one s rdr2 and mud runner American wilds. If I can only fix the blurry picture quality then I would be the happiest guy out there, of course, I dare not say a word around her lol... It almost broke her heart when I turned it on and had to do an update, where I live I cannot get internet or cell service, so here I was with my phone as a hotspot in the window standing on one leg and praying that I could complete everything to play. Somehow the winds where in my favor and I'm at the end of chapter 2. I don't care if it does or doesn't say special or ultimate edition because I got the wife edition lmao

  14. There are far, far worse things to have stuck in one's head. For example, there's a bevy of 80's commercial clip montages available for your viewing pleasure. I won't go so far as to do that here, since it's off topic, but clearly we need to come to a consensus as to who is indeed, the best RDR2 Online player out there.

  15. I use Focus Fire (As my dead eye cards) + Unblinking eye. (Maxed out) If im using Lancaster (with express rounds). The moment someone dives, I flick on Dead Eye.. Let go of LT and just Spam RT and aim at the guy diving. It makes the Lancaster pin point accurate and fires extremely fast. By the time he hits the ground I've got 10+ bullets coming his way..

  16. If you're just looking to slaughter the masses & rack up XP, go to Annesburg. Theres a mine shaft (left from the town) that goes down like 4 stories. Earn yourself a bounty & lead law enforcement down the hatch & shoot the fish in the barrel. A little redundant after a while, but a good way to get you a stream of enemies on tap.

  17. We can keep discussing this - I just gave a combination of factors that would make me stop playing - I have grinded around 30k in game USD and am level 101 after about a week of actual gametime. I am at a point that the grind is just to get additional pamphlets/guns/horses for fun of testing these, now I focus more on building up some USD for future content. After the grind (which is fun for me personally) I cannot see me doing it again at some sort of official release in the future with "maybe" one content update added at that point. The gold bars potentially lost wouldn't bother me but having to do the grind with the same things over and over again that I have been doing since RDO release most likely would. At this point I still go online daily, mainly because Battlefield V is in a messy state as well and no other titles I like are out there. I like Red Dead, simply put. I am however getting bored quicker. The main reason I stick around is that I am hoping for an actual common goal/objective to focus on which is posse related. Build your HQ op with common goals and grind/work for it. A digital sense of achieving something with a group of dedicated players. I truly hope this will get added and I am patient enough to wait for this a bit longer, but as stated by another poster here when new AAA titles are hitting most likely in March and RDO hasn't taken the next steps by then, I can see a massive playerdrop happening. A character reset at this point and state of the game is very unlikely, I can only see it happen when and if people keep Money and goldbars acquired and a big pile of content is added to the game. If not I see a lot of people quitting. In all fairness most of the people on forums for particular games are more dedicated in remaining loyal compared to the masses.

  18. Anybody that spends real money on anything beta is a fool parted from his money.
    1 point
  19. Rockstar has straight up said this is only a beta and there is a chance everything will be reset. You spend money in the beta you run the risk of losing it. Even if they did a reset without a reward (which probably won't happen), the loss of players would be minimal. Everyone would bitch online because that's what everyone does, but they'd still play.

  20. Love the game but what amuses me most about this very subject is the amount of "witnesses" there seems to be IF you attack somebody in the remotest parts of the map. I have been in places where I haven't seen anybody for hours and along comes a stranger who seems to not like me, i try to defuse, he draws, I kill him and BAM...a witness to the crime pops up...kill him, BAM two more pop up...say wat?

  23. You're riding down the road and for no reason, WHAM, an NPC character swerves over a good 2 feet into your way. You fall off your horse and if this happens near witnesses, you're wanted. Another example of R* adding mechanics just to cause conflict. This is completely unrealistic and takes away from the games immersion. I get maybe a few NPC outlaws doing this to antagonize you, but every single one? Lame. Also, this makes the cinematic mode utterly useless as you most always will crash and be knocked out of it. This was stupidly annoying in GTA and it is equally as frustrating in RDR2. Make the NPCs harder and stop making the game irritating with additions like this.

  24. I think the crossbow is pretty much a definite. The menu in the catalog says "bows". SO they're intending on adding more and there aren't too many options besides a crossbow for this time frame.

  25. Well I do not think anyone here on the forum has any insights on your questions and we are all eagerly anticipating new content. If they do decide to reset ranks, they will lose a big part of their playerbase so I am pretty certain they will not do that. Also people have bought rank based unlocks with gold bar money so if they would reset Rockstar will face a lot of issues refunding things. NOT very likely at all they will do a reset. Rockstar tweeted yesterday that you can craft and cook online and the playerbase was not very mild responding to such a tweet as everyone is getting bored and wants new content badly.

  27. Me and two of my mates like to make games out of the freeplay. We will make a list of objectives to do and which trail to take and whoever makes it to the "finish line" first wins.

  28. Different breeds have different quirks / characteristics. My Arabian for example is fast but it is more twitchy and can get upset easily by comparison. Regardless of bonding level their attitude and performance will also change when fatigued, frightened, startled, etc. Personally, I like how R* added these kinds of elements into the game. Horses are after all living creatures and don't always act exactly how you want them to. I'm glad they don't act robotic.

  29. Thank you for letting us know. It's too often that people get advice here and never come back to say if it works or not. FYI that's a common fix for many bugs in many games. If you encounter a weird bug, that's usually the first thing you should try.

  34. i've had this happen a few times. Exiting the game and a hard boot of the console fixed it for me. Always best to exit the game when you're done playing for the night or other extended periods.

  35. A calvary sword would be pretty sweet. Imagine charging you enemies down on horseback slashing away with your sword.

  36. It makes it more exciting it terms of dodging bullets and landing shots meaning something. For example.. Playing co-op missions with friends all using free aim. The shoot out takes longer, taking cover and picking out targets takes a bit of effort. Compared to everyone using auto aim.. Running infront each other trying to get the most kills. And most of the time not caring about cover or picking out targets because they rely on auto aim being able to kill everything ASAP. But ya.. to each their own.

  39. See I disagree, people in real life have a tendency to play close to their heart. I can't say it isn't possible to play out of your comfort zone, but in reality are sure that isn't a nod to your ability control said traits. I have participated in RP games majority of my life and seen lots of strange characters and their players. When I started playing online and open chat was available. Listening to what some of the players was saying. Let's just say, you don't just walk down the street saying those things to people. Yes, they're are some that RP and I have seen them in RDR2. Majority of players aren't RPing. They're releasing stress from their lives. Players grief cause there is nothing in place to stop them. They apparently have no self-control to stop themselves. They get off on driving other players from the server, lobby, or game. Contrary to what some may think, Rockstar doesn't want to lose players regardless if the game mechanics stop you or not when it comes to griefing.

  41. Right! I think its fun. I been hunting and had someone headshot me taking my goods. I just laugh and now its on. It is what it is. Its the wild west alright. I hunted birds and a guy came up to hunt birds also. Everything was cool.. i saw another pink dot headed towards him and figured it was his posse member. I look over and the guy who showed up had him hogtied. I shot the other guy and we both chased him away.. then went back to hunting birds. After about 15-20mins I shot him to take his birds but still lol.. if someone is chasing you all around the map then yea thats a douche move. If we are passing each other and I pop ya.. just let it go.. the moment you try to chase me down cause you can’t let it go.. its a fued now..

  43. So you automatically asume I'm bad because I said free aim requires more skill? I came from 5yrs of GTA:O this aim flick shoot is nothing new, all those headshots you pulled after a week I was doing on day one because of that... if I get anyone diving in front of me I'm killing them from that mistake, I just need to quickly aim again and flick to the right the time they need to get up from the dive I already killed them when they hit the floor.... Also you need to get near me, or I'll snipe you with a rifle because I prefer to free aim... I'm by no means PRO-Plays RDR competition gamer, in fact that adds literaly nothing to my life, I couldn't care less about that and I got better sh*t to do, but you are good I'll give you that and if being good at a TPS is what defines you then spend more time perfecting that and good luck to you partner. BTW I actually saw the whole video because I found it interesting, you click bait people with misleading titles or content... I would watch another before? Yes because of the content... will watch another now? Nope, the poster has shitty personality in my opinion.

  45. Auto aim takes more skill than free aim. You've got to remember that while I've got auto aim, my enemy also has auto aim. And if i'm not fast enough and accurate enough I will get killed pretty quickly by a good player. That fast reaction time and the accuracy it requires is not demanded in free aim. In free aim, you pray your bullets will hit. It takes no method, no strategy, no navigating the map efficiently and being quick and stuff. It literally takes luck and the right settings (deadzone acceleration etc). If a top auto aimer played a 1v1 with a top free aim player, the auto aim player would surely win by a greater margin in auto aim than he would lose in free aim. It's honestly not that skilled. People think, well its manual aim you have to do it yourself, surely that takes more skill right? Don't pretend its easy to hit a good player in auto aim either. I guarantee if you play against someone who knows how to spin and sidestep well you will not land a hit on them all game long.

  46. @Kean_1You haven't played enough to know what I am talking about yet. I though it was fun at first as well and many of those triggers I am very familiar with now. Missions constantly force you into those situations, when I was sent to help someone it ended up not only breaking him out of jail but it also forced me to kill everyone law office in town and those that came in. Good ole 300$ bounty from a forced rescue mission to progress the story along. I got no money from that mission either and that 300$ has been there ever since. You cant keep stopping all witnesses, because most of them didn't witness anything, yet you are blamed. Investigating is just another term for, give us a few moments while we blame this on you. This gets annoying very fast, especially as they blame and hold you accountable for serious crimes that you didn't do and make you wanted/bounty.
