  1. I Honestly think people forget about GTA in the earlier days. I remember many rants at the time how everyone was going to stop playing when heists never came out update after update... Or Beach Bum DLC? Man, this sucks. Boycott R*!!! Yet to this day people are still playing, still spending money and still complaining every time something new comes along... Bottom line, I don’t really think YouTube ranters, people making noise on Internet forums and a news report about how a yet to be completed game in beta isn’t raking in as much as a game that’s been established back when most of the newer gamers were playing match the colours with Mickey Mouse show that the game is on its death bed.. but who knows? They may be right. on a side note, I think the loudest complainers may also be the people least likely to be the ones dropping cash on micro transactions in the first place. Often the very first complaints I see are along the lines of ‘Now they’re making it pay to win. Greedy money grubbing corporation. I’m not playing anymore’

  2. Doesn't take an exploit to get that high and that much money. Just takes someone who plays a lot and knows how to manage their time/money. Also being in a posse helps also, if he was in a posse.

  3. Am i the only one actually finding the online good nowadays? 😯 I like the new adjustments, and i LOVE the dailys.. Its good for levelling, and its also cool to be held active. If Rockstar follows their "Every Tuesday" updates, im more than happy!

  4. Maybe I am alone here, but I don't mind being on a server with only a handful of people. I am able to explore, hunt, and so on without being bothered.

  5. Seeing less and less players in free roam... Only half full lobbies everywhere i go. Things are looking kinda bad it seems. Rockstar better pull a rabbit out of their a@@#s and quick, i really want this game to work but i dunno anymore 🙄

  6. So I'd spent a good 10 minutes 'On the Hunt' mission for the bear in Cumberland Falls. Eventually I killed it and took it's pelt. I then made my way back to my horse and began to stow it. As I loaded the pelt my horse collapsed, my first thought was it didn't like the pelt it was too heavy or something, oh no, how wrong I was. Some weird sicko had taken a sniper shot to the horses head and killed it. I just stood there stunned and shocked. This nasty disturbed person had waited for me to come back and took his shot at the exact moment I was 'stowing'. He had no interest in shooting me, obviously he was relishing the fact I was upset and distressed over this cold blooded killing. I stood next to my dead horse for a few seconds then got on my mic and made it plain he was way out of order, he did't respond. What kind of sick freak does something like that? If your reading this you weirdo you seriously need some psychological help.

  7. @BropolloCreed79 so several of us are playing the division 2 beta and wow ! I thought I liked the first one , holy moly is this gonna be lit ! You've played right ? Thoughts ? 8 player raids in the first year sound really tactical. Can't wait.

  8. i missed the beta, got the Gold Edition digital copy, saw the invoice in the email for it yesterday, so i'm like oh cool i can play but yesterday afternoon i still got the popup You're too early nah nah nah. Might help if i read the email and see the release date huh? My favorite thing in The Division was the survival mode. i beat the damn Hunter once solo. was really proud about that till my son said "dad you suck i kill him every time". THen i watched him, he killed the hunter and I was like "wow you do!" then a second hunter came up as he was almost at the rope and toasted him. I had a good laugh. And my son comes home for a few months this weekend; can't wait to start playing The Division 2 with him next week!!

  9. lmao we are now in the ERA where gamers think its okay for a game to be crappy at the start and then becoming great after 3-5 years of content. smh i miss the days where developers actually released good complete games..

  11. ....and those changes have had a big impact on the gameplay. The damage model has forced players to utilize cover and tactics. It's way more fun in that aspect IMO. Well placed shots will also take down enemies that once would have required several magazines. I would say the game feels familiar but not necessarily the same. What I have been noticing are some folks who loved TD1 but don't like the changes in TD2. .....nothing new there but then there are a lot of folks who (like me) welcome many of the changes and additions they have made. I have no doubt TD2 will succeed for Ubi regardless of its detractors. .....pick any title and it's the same story. I thought FC5 was a hot mess as well as all my friends (it actually killed the franchise for me) but I still knew it would be a success in terms of sales.

  12. I mean I get it, I didn't understand until I was rank 25 and joined a posse that knew what to do. I mean that's generally the way every other mmo works except RDO and I guess gtao. So Rockstar is just being ass backwards for whatever reason. And most people when we explain it to them don't believe it until it happens. If nothing else you can do some real life stuff, or hunt and fish or mess around, do some gun maintenance. Sometimes my posse will split and half will carry the mission other half will do whatever unless we know we're entering a danger zone. Then take turns switching it up. Sometimes only one or two will do it while the rest distract enemy players, etc. All about that teamwork and time management.

  14. I intentionally limited how much I delved into both betas. Reason being, I pick my copy up next Monday (3-days early for the edition, and GameStop has a "get it at 9pm the day before" policy), so I didn't want to spoil too much of what would unfold once I got into it. What I can say, based on my limited time with it this past weekend, is that it feels good. The play mechanics were strong, a lot of the bugs from the closed beta got cleaned up, everything was noticably smoother, and the enemy AI is markedly improved from TD1. It's not without flaws: the menu layout has been reconfigured and had buttons reassigned, which, for TD1 vets, is mildly annoying. The sound mix on the guns and gunfire still feels "off"--too cartoonish. They need more bass and resonance because, at least to my ears, they sound largely fake and over-processed. I'm also curious as to the depth of the Agent Creation suite, and how exacting it is going to be. The "randomized" options from both betas were completely underwhelming (which, to be fair, is understandable, if the goal was to test performance issues and mechanics), and I hope they allow for greater detail than TD1. The number if mins in the open world probably needs to be tweaked a bit. Still feels too sparse. I know it sounds like I'm nit-picking, but those things are small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. It felt good overall, and I adored the story from the first one. If that narrative is continued (and all indications are that it is) then I will be hard-pressed to allocate time to other games once I get my hands on it in a week.

  17. Also they are all passive they are active whether you wear them or not, and they stack so they all work from what I read anyway, although I assumed you had a choice fo two or three to wear and those would be the ones active, thats how I played it and how I thought it worked.

  18. Welcome to the forum Joe. I think I'm going to go ahead and move this thread over to Off-Topic as I feel it's probably a more appropriate section for this.

  19. Yeah, well honestly, GTA has a fan base going back to when it was a top down PC game that came on floppy disks... not to mention it’s online has been tweaked and developed since the last console generation. RDR is only in its third incarnation (if your even counting red dead revolver... a fun game but I liked Gun better at the time). The online isn’t even released in its final form yet (still a beta, however much everyone complains about it), and has only been out a couple months. so we have a smaller fan base to start with, and a game in a phase where people these days that seem to have the attention span of a goldfish can’t bother logging in unless they can just ride around shooting and blowing people up, because ‘content man’... so now that the bounty is in place, all the murder hobos have nothing better to do and moved on to something else where they can indiscriminately kill for no reason for a while. once the games been balanced out, tweaks have been made and content starts coming out regularly people will come back. I really don’t think anyone really expects a game in a testing phase to out compete a game that has been fully developed and has a half decade of continuous growth and play behind it.

  20. Maybe that is the best way to drive the point home to R* is a mass exodus until they fix this s##t show. I know I am. TD2 is looking like a good place to land for me.

  23. I agree 100%. What many would call a "griefer", I have sub-categories to break it down even further into moral and immoral groupings. It's semantics for sure. Either way, you're right. This is more about how people envision this game should be played. Personally, I like the challenge and excitement of not knowing what another player may or may not do. Of course, not to the levels of what I would consider to be harassment. I believe this game should have acceptable levels of killing in free roam...for whatever the reason may be (for fun or sport, for preemptive strikes, to protect the area in which one has staked a claim, etc). The reason does not matter to me such as the reason in RL a deer does not care why a hunter hunts it. The deer just thinks about surviving. It is what it is. This game, to me, is to stay alive while obtaining the resources required to make me a better player. I am curious to all those people who claim they want a murder-free free roam. What are you trying to accomplish when you hunt, fish and pick herbs? You're gaining XP and $$$ for what reason? To dress up your Ken and Barbie dolls? Or, are you trying to become a stronger more powerful character in order to protect yourself from others that will try to kill you. There has to be a reason why you want to rank up other than just for the sake of ranking up. No? Maybe I'm wrong. And for the record, I don't believe most who would be considered to be griefers are the anti-Christ. They're not necessarily deranged individuals and psychopaths because they play this within the parameters of the game. This is a game people. Don't take it so seriously! Play it if you like....play something else if you don't like it. Life's too short to worry about this kind of stuff. I'll most likely play it either way and will simply adapt my game style to whatever the devs come up with.

  24. If you stop what you were doing to fight back or leave the server you are allowing another person to dictate how you play the game. I do not concede to people, so this system doesn't work for me. I don't feel we should need to jump servers every time some tool decides to gun me down as I'm skinning a buck. We should have the option to jump into one server and play with like minded people. And that goes for both PVE and PVP players. The game and player base are large enough to support full servers for both sides.

  25. I must have missed the historic part of the battle of Wounded Knee when Custer was shot in the back of the head by a varmint rifle when exiting a cutscene.

  26. Pardon my overthinking....Here are my thoughts: Let's think back to our playground days for a minute. Imagine you're at the playground in the sandbox minding your own business and some kid, who want's you to play basketball throws the ball at your head. You tell him you don't want to play, point out there are other kids on the court that would play with him and go back to your sandbox. He plays with them, loses, so he's back throwing the ball at your head again, trying to make you play with him. At some point an adult is going to step in and separate the 2 of you. RDR2 is a large playground where some people just want to play in the sand box while others want to play something else. R* needs to be the adult and separate the 2. The literal definition of the statement "to grief" is to annoy, bother or be a general nuisance. So, with that in mind, anyone who goes out of their way to attempt to force someone to play this game one way, when there are clearly many ways to play the game, is giving grief and has earned the label griefer. That being said, R* is more at fault than anyone because if there were private lobbies none of this would even be a discussion. PVP and PVE are 2 separate entities with 2 completely different mindsets and need to be treated as such. Until that happens, us players will spend more time talking about the game in threads like this instead of playing it.

  27. I think they should keep the bright red blip mechanic and just remove the bounty and bounty hunters.

  28. There is obviously confusion here and it's being caused by Rockstar. All they would have to do is say, our game allows griefing. Period. Then I would personally have nothing to report. But Rockstar didn't do that. They keep saying,"we are going to implement anti griefing measures." So something supposedly allowed in the game by design is supposedly being curtailed by them (well, at least that's what they say--I don't believe it). My point is, you either want to allow griefing or you don't. If you want to allow it, stop all the lies and just admit it. If you want to stop it, put some measures in with some real teeth. Rockstar needs to be honest, just like that other Wild West game, just like Black Desert Online. That's my problem with them right now. I'm sending in my last bit of feedback either today or tomorrow (describing how I've still been attacked while minding my own business). I sometimes submitted two or three a a day before the update, explaining how I was getting spawn killed or sniped while fishing or on the way to the butcher and included player names (I had already reported and blocked them). After the update, I find their new anti griefing methods to be a joke and I've decided I'm not going to keep sending in feedback with my complaints about this because I almost feel like I'm begging. I'll still log on to do the quick missions which I do enjoy (why did they take one away?!?! They need to add more!!) or hope for the occasional solo lobby glitch but as far as me leisurely roaming and hunting and fishing (which I say their promotional materials said I was going to be able to do), I'm pretty much done with it in the shape the game is right now. Sorry, but having to sneak around a game to avoid other players isn't the way my time should be spent.

  29. 100% agree. Although I think we can all agree that shooting someone in the back of the head after they exit a cutscene before they can defend themselves is universally understood to be griefing. Nailed it. I still think a self-toggle for PvP/PvE status with a cool down timer once out of combat is the simplest way to mitigate these specific grieifing issues.
