GAME TIPS RED DEAD ONLINE Frontier Pursuits offers Bounty Hunters, Traders and Collectors alike the chance to explore the world of Red Dead Online at their own pace, progressing through one or multiple specialist roles as they carve out a place for themselves and seek their fortunes along the way. Whichever paths you're on, we've compiled some tips and tricks to help you on your way to becoming Distinguished in your field: Bounty Hunter If you’re a Bounty Hunter who’s also pursuing the Collector role, keep an eye out for precious Collectibles while tracking down a Bounty. After clearing enemy guards during a Bounty Mission, make sure to loot all the bodies for a chance to find rare items such as Tarot Cards, Antique Bottles and Treasure Maps. Finding Collectibles while on these missions will also award you with Collector XP. As your Bounty Hunter Rank progresses, you'll start to see more lucrative bounties on the Bounty Board - the more difficult the bounty is to turn, the greater your reward. Once you’ve reached Rank 14, evade enemy fire by ducking on horseback (hold L2/LT and press Square/X) Want to rank up faster? Enlist your posse for help rounding up your bounty targets for bonus XP. If you're riding solo and want to bring back multiple targets, you can bring two bounties back at once by lassoing the second target and dragging them along behind you. Be warned: your straggler may not survive the journey. Once you've unlocked Gun Spinning as a Bounty Hunter, double tap L1/LB, then hold R1/RB and follow the on-screen prompts to perform tricks. H/T to u/The_Synth_Potato on Reddit for posting this great clip over on r/RedDeadOnline: Trader Cripps prefers to work with full carcasses rather than parts. Prioritize turning in a full 3-star animal carcass rather than just skinning it. To maximize profits, run Resupply Missions rather than purchasing Supplies. This way, you’ll also get Trader XP for the missions and rank up quickly. Long-distance deliveries can be especially lucrative, but you can take on shorter deliveries in Defensive Mode to protect yourself from opportunists. To maximize the yield of your hunt, stow up to three carcasses on your horse while skinning any additional animals you come across in the wild. While your primary target should be big game, don't forget to look to the skies - birds can make for quick and easy kills on your ride back to camp. At Rank 5, you can purchase a Medium Delivery Wagon to help maximize turnover on Delivery Missions; once you reach Rank 10, upgrade to a Large Delivery Wagon and purchase a Hunting Wagon to haul even more carcasses, hides and pelts. Collector Traveling Saleswoman Madam Nazar often packs up her wagon and moves on to new climes, setting up shop in a different location each day. As a keen-eyed explorer, you may be required to track her down without the use of your map – listen for the sounds of her gramophone when she is nearby. However, you won't need to visit Madam Nazar to cash in on her Weekly Collection list - after you've found the items, you can simply mail them to her at any Post Office location. While purchasing maps is the fastest way to find Collectibles, don’t forget to trigger Eagle Eye as you ride past points of interest - you may stumble across a valuable item you didn't know was there. Loot enemy bodies often as there’s a chance you’ll find Collectibles on them - and make sure to check drawers and cabinets of any buildings you visit also. Selling a full set of Collectibles to Madam Nazar will earn far more RDO$ than selling the same items individually.1 point

Yes, the Kladruber is the only horse in the game (at this point) that maxes out in both health and stamina when fully bonded (my fully bonded black Arabian only has 9 out of 10 in both). It's great for everything, even bounty hunting, mine really eats bullets for breakfast, lol. He can take a REAL beating, AND today I discovered he's not even afraid of cougars. I had a cougar creep up on us from behind and I turned and fully expected for my buddy to throw me off but naaah, he just stood there calmly while I had enough time to deal with the cougar. It felt like as if he was saying "I know you got this, boss". lol I also saw a video on Youtube today where a Red Dead Youtuber was also discovering how awesome the Kladruber is - the horse is definitely getting both popularity and attention. I guess people thought at first that it wasn't good for much due to its lack of speed (which is totally nullified when using that Naca... Naco... saddle I can't spell, but everyone knows which one I mean) but now that you don't really need much speed to play Red Dead anymore, at least not for the new roles, the needs of many players have changed and they want a solid horse that takes them where they need to go AND eats bullets for breakfast AND is chill when a cougar shows up.1 point

I also have a real blast with these dynamic events.. i cant get enough! - I was travelling on the road to do a bounty, and a dog was sitting barking on the road side. I got down from my horse, and it ran uphil, when i got up the hill, 1 "Hillbilly" was attacking me, and shouting something like "You dumb piece of sh*t", and also the dog was attacking me.. a little ambush / holdup! .. LOVE IT! - it just makes things much much more cool, and i always hope to get a new suprise when i play!1 point

Oh good, not just me then - I did exactly the same thing yesterday! You don't get long to chase the stagecoach, match its speed, jump on and save the day. So I thought hammering the button to jump would speed things up, forgetting that it makes the horse do stupid little jumps on its own. The best I've done for this scenario was I approached from behind and spotted what was going on before the coach took off, I managed to jump on and stopped the coach just as it went into the river. Lost one of the horses but the passenger and driver didn't seem to care.1 point

Howdy partner ! I think a lot of the ones your seeing are screenshots. Pan your 📷 to where you want it and hold the select button. It will be saved to your storage. Then you can go in there and share it. Hope this helps1 point

Having got my daily streak back up to level 2 since the reset I notice that the multiplier only affects the original daily challenges and not the role-based ones - hence the confusion above about getting 0.2 not 0.5 gb for some challenges. Seems like the 50gb is decent compensation after all.1 point

Has to be done the rockstar way.20 to 30 mins.we waited 20 mins and then 30 mins and both times i got 178.gonna try abit longer next time just to see if any more in it.1 point

I also just realized that the Level 20 Kladruber when bonded to level 4 has 100% health and 100% stamina! This is the only horse in the game with 100% health and stamina, there is an Arabian that has 99, but none higher, until now. So in summary, the two high end Kladrubers are amazing, it is the only horse to have more acceleration than speed, and to have 100 health and 100 stamina, they have a great temperament and when you use a Nocodolches saddle they are very similar to the Missouri Fox Trotters, the drain is very slow, you can literally run top speed all over the map and not worry about your horse. They are the larger of the new horses and larger than the Trotters, and the one dapple coat is an amazing blueish color that I just love. Sorry to keep adding things, I didnt realize at first how amazing the horse was, it was just my new favorite based on early performance and looks, but then I bonded with him and used him for everything in the game that I do and then after all that I decided to look at stats and numbers. The horse is better than I first implied, and if you havent tried one, you can do a lot worse than a level 20 Trader Kladruber. You get most of the speed of the trotters with better temperament and similar drain and it is the only horse in the game with 100 health and stamina so thats pretty cool too. If you love the trotters but hate how they buck at the first sign of trouble, this is your new horse.1 point

RDR.org is a fan site. It is not affiliated with R* nor 2K in any way and there are no representatives that openly post here. btw, the disrespectful attitude doesn't fly here no matter how you want to dress it up. You've got a msg. It's your choice. I'm also closing the thread at this point for obvious reasons.1 point

This is the biggest selling point to me, if the horse has nearly the same speed and acceleration as the Missouri Fox Trotter and the temperament of the Turk and then some it is perfect for most anything you want to do in game. I do have a few other horses that I bought only for how they look, I like to use them with certain outfits, but for battles, and jobs/missions, it is the Kladruber all day for now on, until I try the level 20 bounty horse, I have a feeling that one will take over for ultimate temperament but til then, my dapple Kladruber is the best looking horse I have IMO and does it all well. I do have two Trotters, a Turk, two lesser Kladrubers, the Black and White, and the collector horse I forget its name, but the real fast one, plus the two level 20 Kladrubers, I have one spot left without selling any horses, and I plan to try the level 20 bounty horse. Im not sure if I will let any go, so many people use the Trotters that although they are great horses I might let one of them go if I need room, same with the turk, it is a good horse, but when you have a stable of great horses, it is hard to justify a normal looking average horse.1 point

Nice I brought them in alive as well. I knocked them out , but they were still alive. Everyone should defiantly try it. There is no timer, so you can take your time . This update seems to be raining XP like candy. I will be Lvl 300 quick at this rate.1 point

indeed played those maps couple of times and as u mentioned they feels great. And for some time played them. Mostly time played on showdown large it's always rush mess fells more like arcade with instant resp-kill, time to time. Those karagans ranch, the manor, rodes , and forest elimination maps feels much more like tactics game play maps i really liked them.1 point

Came here for a discussion about soiled undergarments. Leaving disappointed.1 point

Agreed. I'm ex-law enforcement and would love to have had something along the lines of the game's radar. But the ability to hide might be fun, as would the ability to surprise others. But I think essentially we agree.1 point

Well, no. There wasn’t radar in the 1800s. But people did have smell, sight, hearing, touch, Peripheral vision... all that gets taken away looking at a tv screen. That is why games need to add things like radars and eagle vision... don’t get me wrong, I completely get your point. It really isn’t in the flavour of a game set in the time period (or even our modern time period. In my 16 year army career I’ve never come across a piece of equipment that not only showed me a map, but the exact location of everyone around with hostile or friendly identifies). But as for realism, it’s just not going to happen in a video game with our current technology... That’s why I buy old cowboy guns and replicas of old cowboy guns and hit the range for some cowboy action shooting when I can (and even that isn’t quite there, but it’s fun). Or head out to hunt and run trap lines. And fish.1 point

I'm largely with OP. I don't mind radar in some of the competitive mini-games (although it has stopped me playing them - it isn't a battle royale if you know where everyone is, so doesn't do it for me personally), but in terms of the wider open game the radar is an issue sometimes. I was chased by a posse of human players the other day. In the real world I would have had the option to find a gully and hide, but that's impossible with radar. So I led them to a choke point and introduced them to Captain & Tennille instead, as that was the only option. Took them out so that isn't my issue but it would be more fun for me to have more tactical options. I am not a griefer, I'm a very honourable player who largely acts as a trader with the odd bit of bounty hunting, but I have much more patience for a bit of griefing in the game as that is what it would have been like, on occasion - there was little law and little safety net away from population centres. I love the game, I really do, and I'm in for the long haul, but I'd far rather there were no radar. It really isn't necessary, I can't make a logical case for it.1 point

It is related to number of players in the lobby, Rockstar is constantly moving us to more crowded lobbies - change session and try again - lobbies above 18 players have deep animal nerf and lobbies under 14 have a ridiculous animal abundance It is very noticeable when you start ressuply missions that put you on a solo lobby, you have to drive carefully not to trample dozens of animals along the way Check the player numbers at each lobby1 point

Howdy Strangers! Welcome to the forum. While you’re here, you’re welcome to kick off yer boots, take a load off, and enjoy some conversatin’ by the campfire. We love a good discussion. However, what we don’t like is folks being less-than-friendly-like to each other. So here’s a list of rules we all need to abide by while visitin’ the forum. The Important Stuff Be neighborly: First and foremost, if you find yourself typing something you yourself wouldn’t be happy to read were it directed toward you, we suggest a re-write The Law: We do have some lawmen ‘round these parts. You can identify ‘em by the words Administrator or Moderator under their usernames in posts and on their profiles. They’re here to help, but what they say goes. You’re free to disagree, but since they’ll be respectful to you, the same is expected in return. Don’t post unless ya got somethin’ to say: Your “post count” is intended to be an accurate representation of your activity here. Don’t post for no reason – that includes “bumping” a thread that’s dead and buried. If you have something to say, say it. Any comment that just reads “bump” will be promptly deleted. And any spam posts will get ya run outta town. Harassment/hate posts: Any hate speech or deliberate harassing/bullying on this forum is cause for an immediate banning from the forum. Context or intent does not matter – don’t do it. If you’re quoting something or someone and need to indicate such types of words, abbreviations, splat marks (****) and other indications are generally fine, but if they are used in place of a hate word directed toward another user, the consequences will be the same. Bullying/trolling: No one likes a fun ruiner, so don’t ruin ours. We’re all here because we have a common interest. Let’s focus on that interest. When your interest shifts to trying to derail a discussion or throw insults at folks, that’s when we step in. If you’re confused, see the first bullet point. If this type of behavior is observed, we encourage members to use the “Report Post” button. Advertising/soliciting/self-promotion/selling/trading: Your purpose in joining our community should not be to sell or trade items/services, promote or advertise your site, social media, Youtube videos, etc. Forum contributions made for those reasons will be deleted and are cause for an immediate ban. Legitimate recommendations and external sources of information/help/entertainment etc are of course permitted, but just make sure your mentioning them for the right reasons. Name and shame: Please don't be tempted to"name and shame" or call out other players in Red Dead Online that you might have had a dispute or other issue with. We don't allow those sorts of posts. Spoilers: Don't potentially ruin the game for others by posting spoilers without some sort of warning. We have spoiler tags that you can use within your post too. See this thread. Well! Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s look at a few other smaller items. Say Howdy: We have a fancy little area called “Introduce Yourself,” and it’s expected of newcomers. After you’ve read these rules, we ask that you stop by that area and tell us a little about yourself. Doesn’t have to be much, just so’s we can get to know ya a bit. After that, post and comment away! Announcements & Stickies: Important posts can be labeled by The Law as an “Announcement” or a “Sticky.” That means you should read ‘em. Think of it as a Town Hall meetin’. Make sure you review it. No alias, secret or duplicate accounts: We know some folks think it’s funny to create a second account and pretend to be someone else. We also know other folks like to create multiple accounts to side-step bans. Regardless of intent, multiple accounts are not allowed. If you’re found to have more than one account, you’ll likely be shown the door on all of ‘em. No airin’ of private matters: If you receive a PM, the details of that PM are between you and them. If it’s violating rules, you can share it with an Admin or a Mod. Don’t copy/paste or post screenshots of private messages. No illegal activity: No talking about pirated or other illegal or prohibited content, cracks, hacks, torrents or anything of the sort. Same goes for any other illegal content or activity. You will be banned immediately and, if necessary, the authorities notified. Repeated username tagging: We understand when something’s important to you. But you won’t evoke change by constantly commenting about a change you want in the game and tagging every moderator, administrator, and developer every time. These folks are busy tendin’ to a whole lot of other issues. When you repeatedly tag them for yours, it’s more muck for them to trudge through, and, in turn, makes them slower to respond. One will do, thanks! Search before creating new threads: ‘Round these parts, we like to keep things tidy. That said, one thing we don’t take kindly to is having 14 threads about the exact same thing. Then you have 14 conversations and people having to repeat their thoughts in each. Do a search for what you want to talk about. (It may help to filter your search to just the “Content titles only”) If there’s a similar thread – even if it’s old – post your comment there, and it’ll circulate that thread, and thus, your comment, back to the top of the “Activity” page. If there’s not a similar thread, then you can make a new one. Note that, in order to keep things tidy, Mods and Admins can (and most certainly will) take the liberty to merge a redundant thread into the existing one, or just close/delete the thread altogether. The Search field is your friend, Friend. Double/Multi-posting: Speaking of “keepin’ things tidy,” seeing the same user post two, three, eight times in a row in the same thread is just not tidy. So, if you’re the last one to post in a thread and want to post something else, just click the Edit button at the bottom of your last comment, and add it there. You can even copy/paste other people’s quotes into edits to address more than one comment. (Just make sure you “select all” when doing this.) You can post a fresh comment again after someone else posts. This also helps prevent endless thread-bumping. Don’t be sneaky: These rules are here for a reason. You’re expected to follow them, not try to get around them. We’re happy to give reminders for oversights, but if you just won’t abide by these rules and repeatedly try to find ways around ‘em, well – we don’t take too kindly to that. Attempts to circumvent established rules will not be tolerated.1 point
