  1. Players like you made me stop distant deliveries cause i hate pvp plus i don't want anyone to disturb my sessions.

  2. My basic point was pointing out that who would have thought the trader role would have been the most adrenaline pumping of the new roles. Whether you're hunting a wagon or you're delivering one, I'm always way more on edge than when I'm bounty hunting. Maybe player bounties could rival trader intercepts, but I've yet to see one happen. I have had my wagon stolen. It was the risk I took when I rolled the dice and went for the extra $125. I only ride with one posse mate, all our attacks are with only 2 people. We have 3-3 record so far.

  3. You don't have to do the long deliveries if your not ready to defend your cargo. That is why you get more for them. I'm just saying...

  5. Anyone else looking forward to modding in the PC version? I know it's not yet confirmed we will even be able to, but traditionally Rockstar Games has not gone out of its way to stop it (and I think when they were playing around with anti-cheat measures for GTA Online actually said that single player mods are OK). I for one am looking forward to seeing what the creators come up with!

  6. That would be awesome! We tracked down a wagon recently only to find out it was a full 7 man posse escorting. Yeah, not only did we not attack, but we got the hell out of there. Our best was a 2v4 so far. I can only imagine a 7v7 wagon fight. Pure chaos!

  7. You should have to take them to the fence to get rid of them.

  8. That would be a game changer. Maybe not 100% but say maybe between 75-80% since they are "stolen" goods. That would make things very very interesting.

  9. They are well within their right to do and if they want to try to go after me go ahead. I have no issue with having to defend myself. I've been lucky. I've only ever been attacked once and I easily fended it off. Personally I'll never attack another player(unless provoked) even in those structured pvp situations. I prefer playing the good guy(despite my name). Though I have been known to blow away NPCs who piss me off, or if I get bored and feel like messing with them. Besides, attacking a wagon imo isn't worth it to gain a few goods out of it. It would be a different story if you could hijack the wagon and sell the goods yourself for full price.

  10. Lol. I hear you. We had a 2 man posse try to take our wagon and failed. They were so hot that they called in 5 more of their friends after we made the drop. Ahhh....good times. Good times.

  11. Facts. Especially solo. I have explosives in everything and am gold cored up. I will eat a few rounds....but I am not going down easy. Lol.

  12. Exactly . High risk, high reward . I have zero issue with it. I'm glad it is part of the game. You have to ask yourself how important that extra $125 is worth to you. I have jacked one wagon before. Moron was doing the Defensive Mode Post Office BS. Were he pops defensive mode , than jumps out to shot gun you than retreats back to post office. Well when he decided to make his deliver, I gladly relieved him of his goods along with my posse. Don't think anyone is being an asshole if they try to take your wagon. All part of the game. Now if they keep attacking you after you drop off the wagon because they are salty....well that is a whole different story.

  13. The pucker factor is very high when doing a long delivery with just 2. You win some and you lose some. And some you never see a sole.

  14. Man that's awesome that the 2 of you are out here in the West doing what needs to be done ! I salute you my friend. We almost always have a full 7 running those and we protect it very well. I can only imagine the rush y'all are getting with just the 2 of you ! Keep it up cowboy !

  15. We welcome the thought of rival traders ! Straight snoozer to take one in without attempted robbery. Its a cowboy game with guns for Pete's sake. I see both sides though , some just want to travel across the prarie in peace and that's ok. Most want this interaction because it is exciting defending your goods against would be thieves ! We like action in a shooter game.

  16. I think its the games phyiscs. From what I’ve seen the slower moving(or non moving) “target” holds ground while the one sprinting will go flying. Maybe its something to do with not being as steady when the crash occurs.

  17. Anyone else find that tracking down and taking a trader wagon is the most exciting part of the update? It really takes some skill to do and really gets exciting. Since you only see the wagon on the map during the early and late stages of the delivery, the tracking and interception is challenging. Then, dealing with the players, wow. I love it.

  19. Every time I make a distant delivery, I always make sure that I have a posse member with me and that I have all my weapons loaded with explosive ammo. I haven’t been attacked yet. Kinda wish I would be. Side note: It would be cool if there were train guard opportunities in free roam. I know there’s the free roam event, but I’m thinking of something else. Like when a train is about to pull into station, an icon pops up at the station where you can sign up to guard the train. But if you don’t get there fast enough, you can rob the train from the other players.

  20. October 16th -- She is just north of Limpany today: Are these updates helpful to you? If so please let me and others who post them know. I don't need to find her everyday but I try to update this thread when I do and find her. Since these updates are now on page 2 for this topic is it time to start a new thread?

  21. Here is the link to the live map. I recently discovered that you can actually clear the whole map and click on what items you're looking for specifically. Hope this helps. https://jeanropke.github.io/RDR2CollectorsMap/

  22. In a 7v7 match? When horses start going down, explosives are flying , respawns are throwing people in near and far, slight delay in microphone. I think it could get chaotic. I would love to try it out. The ONE time I joined a random 7 man posse to assist on an escort we didn't see even a single blue dot. But it was fantastic to be riding in a group that big, rifles drawn. Just daring someone to try and take it. Wish my friends would join more consistently. It's kind of hit or miss with my group.
    1 point
  23. True. That is why running with randoms can be a bit hairy. For example your best shooter(s) should never be driving the wagon. I personally drive a wagon like Stevie Wonder on bath salts. So unless I'm riding solo you will not catch me driving a wagon ever. In a well organized 7 man, you can handle just about anything even the numbers game. Nothing better than getting jumped by 3 posses but your 7 man holds strong and watch them get frustrated, rage in the mic, start in fighting, leave session(once they run out of explosives), etc. That has to be one of my favorite things about this game. You don't have to be the best but if you are a good team player, you make whatever posse you are in that much stronger. IMO.

  25. it's definitely fun having to defend it, we have a strategy in place for when we do our trader wagon routes (we only do long distance ones). It's a shame though that the wagons popping up on the map is bugged af. One day one of our members saw the wagon on the map but the others couldn't see it what so ever, so who knows how many missed opportunities we've had. That being said whenever i've actually seen the red dot its either a lone trader (not gonna be fair killing solo player so we leave it alone), or they're already at the end of the route. People seem to also be doing strictly local deliveries like some wusses. Those two combined are ruining the opportunity to have some engaging and meaningful pvp. All these people saying "i hate PvP", "i dont want anyone attacking me" etc.. should embrace the thrill that comes with defending your wagon, also you should either join a crew or recruit a bunch of casuals that are willing to help you. What do you honestly expect if your'e alone with a wagon in a world where animal spawns are ****ed up. I never do a wagon run unless i have about 5 people heavily defending the supplies.

  26. I wish you could sell wagons to Seamus over at Emerald Ranch just like in SP.😥

  33. I got attacked on a delivery for the first time the other day - ended up in quite the 2v2 battle. The opposition were really very good and after the wagon got destroyed they managed to make off with 2 of the bags and we delivered the other 2. Of course at the time I was pissed at missing out on the cash we would have earned but if there's no risk there should be no additional reward so I accept it as part of the game - fair play to the posse that attacked us (although as the battle went on after the delivery one of them did turn out to be an utter knob). That said, I do think the odds are stacked against the individual(s) making the delivery. First, you don't know whether the players you're passing are going to attack or not so you're on the back foot. If you take the first shot and they were going to leave you alone then you've brought trouble on yourself for the rest of the trip, if they were going to attack you're still in trouble. Second, you're an easy, sitting target on the wagon and trying to defend yourself while not crashing the wagon. Third, if you do get killed you then have to call for and wait for your horse to turn up and in my case this was a long way from where the wagon now was so my posse mate was in a 2 v 1 while trying to keep the wagon on the trail. Impossible task. I can see deliveries being really fun running with a large posse but on my own or just with a mate I'm sticking to local deliveries from now on.

  35. Me and @Yourlocalmomfriend constantly do this. I just stand still and laugh as she tumbles over me. Don't think the horse breed matters. I've been on a Criollo, Kladruber, Andalusian, its all the same when she tries to hit me. It must be related to the physics engine and momentum.

  36. If there both dead you can loot them. 7 cents is 7 cents. I'm just saying...

  37. Yeah knuckleheads have been more plentiful. I don't know why R* thought it was a good idea to gift players with explosive bullets and what not. You don't HAVE to run in a posse. I only run with friends now when I do posse up. It can be cool if you find people on the same vibe as you , otherwise you may not like it. Just my 2 cents. And if you sell a set to the hippie chic, you will have plenty of loot to buy a posse. People will always mess with people in an open world game. It comes with the territory. It isn't the end of days or anything . As a solo player you just have to play a little bit smarter. When I run solo I like to make camps in places like Gaptooth Ridge, Coulter/Grizzles, Roanoke Ridge. They tend to be pretty clear of a lot of dip sh!ts. NEVER set up camp in the area of the Legendary Bounty drop off. I had a Lvl 38 attempt to kill me when I came out of Salvage before. I introduced him and his horse to Mr. Dynamite Arrow. He parlayed me than left the server. You might have people mess with you from time to time.....but nothing crazy. Like I said activity has picked up in the past week. I anticipated this because it has been way to quiet. I was doing a long delivery solo ($625 trader wagon) and a lvl 21 tried his best to kill me the whole way. Bless his heart. But that is only the 2nd time since the Summer Update this has happened. Sadly because it makes that long run more fun. At least for me. I don't know about other players, but the game keeps putting me in private lobbies 80% of the time I do a run. But have fun man and do activities you enjoy. Ranking up is a lot faster now than when I was a lvl 53. Good luck to you man and maybe you can find a buddy or two to run with. I personally can't stand the Collector role HOWEVER.........as a solo player it can be a good way for you to fly under the radar and level up/get $$$ super easy. IMO.

  38. Has anyone tried standing smack bang in the middle between the two? Maybe see if they treat it as you trying to break up the argument?

  39. Well said. I feel the same. I pop in daily to run a wagon in/re stock camp and maybe knock out a few easy dailies. May stick around to help out a few low levels I roll with if they ask . My friend started a second character , so I have been helping him level that. Funny thing is I found myself going back to GTA because there is so much to do over there unlike here. Several of my friends are doing the same. We will all take turns running our wagons in, hunt for a bit than bounce over to GTA to work on our businesses. I think this is also good because I don't want too get burnt on one game. I hope it changes but I definitely understand where you are coming from. The 3 roles should have been more layered and complex. I hope future updates have more complex and difficult content. Right now I have to make the 5* Legendary challenging by doing things like only using a bow and turning auto aim off. Funny thing is that a lot of players are bored. So what do they do now? Go mess with other people . So I don't see a "griefing" problem, I see a lack of content problem. The first few weeks after update was real quiet. But I have noticed in the past week, activity has picked up a lot. Like people camping the Legendary Bounty drop off spawn to troll players. Don't get me wrong, I have fun chasing these scrubs off the server but it is a lame tactic they are using.

  40. I was asking about it in other post a few weeks ago and glad it came here. So i tried every possible outcome with the arguing 2 and all end up the same - nothing happenes. I shot one of them before they shoot eachother - nothing The other way around - nothing shoot both - nothing shoot the one that survived the duel - same. I dont get it maybe its supposed to be just event to make the towns feel more real. I really miss the events from SP and interactions with NPC's , robbing them etc.

  41. Each legendary drops 3 pelts, not just one. This is enough to make everything available if you have the other items. You can only kill them once though, for the record.

  42. Like Kean mentioned, if you are having trouble deciding and do not see any positives in getting it, you likely shouldn't. The biggest reason to me worth getting the game again on PC is down to the graphics and the fact that I did only play the story once. I cane easily play it again and get so much more out of it because I know I missed a lot of details and easter eggs. I am not the type to 100% a game either so I can do all the smaller missions and such I didn't do on console on PC which will lengthen the game for me as well. There is also the fact that most of my friends are PC gamers and will be getting a copy so I will have plenty of people to form a gang with. Mods are something as well but I am not counting on that as a reason cause it may be blocked entirely.
    1 point
  43. I guess the question is, what do you expect to get out of the PC version that you couldn't get out of the console version that is worth it to you to buy it again on PC? There are obvious graphic advantages and the ability to mod if they allow it. Hacking will be a problem as it is for many online games on PC but for PC players, this shouldn't be a shock. You're not even making a case for the purchase of RDR2 on PC so I'm having a hard time understanding why it's even a dilemma for you to be honest.

  44. Hogtie the winner if you don't want to get hit with murder and chased. Loot them both. I'm going to try to hogtie one B4 they shoot, see what happens, but I'm usually too late to the party. * Same with the dogs, it's some kind of RNG ... never know what you will get. Sometimes great, sometimes okay but I too have also gotten maps and collectibles. * Okay that didn't work. Kidnapping.
