I guarantee you that when it comes to making deliveries, players are going to instinctively go into "shoot first, ask questions later" mode if they see another player(s) within firing range regardless of whether said player(s) truly have intentions to attack or not. If you do not intend to attack and don't wish to die, it's best to give them a very wide berth!4 points

I'm not a feminist myself in the sense of what it can mean these days but I can understand how this can be a more sensitive subject to some in various ways. Not the way I expected the conversation to go either and apologies to the OP for that. I think we can all move past it though. ....no worries. Just assumed you were a woman as well.2 points

I'd like to remind folks to keep the discussion civil. Disagreements are fine to discuss but personal insults are not. Thanks.2 points

The Collector role definitely sounds like what you are looking for... but don’t read these boards and come away thinking it’s all a big war zone out there. I’m rarely harassed doing my trader missions, even doing long deliveries solo. I’d say so far 4 out of 5 runs I don’t even see another player, and on the ones I do, they mostly show very little interest in trying to take my wagon... However, it gets to be quite fun the rare time you have to fight off bandits while trying to race your wagon to the finish line in time...2 points

What's everyone think the best Legendary bounty has been so far? 1. Barbarella Alcazar- del lobos. 2. The wolf man. 3. The owlhoot family 4. Sergio vincenza - anarchist/sniper 5. Cecil Tucker- arsonist 6. Philip Carlier- hallucinogens 7. Tobin Winfield- politician 8. Etta Doyle - gang leader 9. Red Ben Clempson- train robbery. 10. Yukon Nik - trapper So far I have to say my favorite has been the owlhoot family. Due to having to go to 4 different sections, each with their own challenges. With Red Ben being a close second for me, love fighting on a train.1 point

RS's latest update addressing issues with 4-core and 6-core cpus have solved it at least for me. I'm on my 2nd run at 18% into the game w/ a lot of things happened and not a single freeze. Now it becomes truly enjoyable. And to add to this observation, i dunno but my gameplay is a lot smoother compared to week 1. Thank you RS for the support.1 point

Quick follow-up: the Cripps Trading Company is up and running! Now to get the camp to respawn again so I can continue operations, heh.1 point

Me either... Nothing personal. But if I’m bored I’ll most definitely do my best to get my hands on your wagon... I expect the same from anyone I happen to shoot while passing through (kind of why I shot them in the first place)...1 point

Honestly, in a completely non-feminist way, I assumed @Harlock1796 was a man due to taste in firearms from another conversation...1 point

Coming into this late, sorry. This just happened to me, but the funny thing is about 3 minutes before the assassination I was being followed and shot dead repeatedly by the same guy from a posse. The same guys who were after me in the assassination were from the same posse as the guy who was following me and repeatedly killing me. Coincidence?1 point

With ya on red Ben , great fun ! Gotta say Yukon is slowly becoming my fav at 4 star. I did enjoy owlhoot too. They really beef up once at level 4. Love hunting all bountys ! We like to try and do all bountys with no guns , just lassos and fists. So much fun running up , body checking them and hog tying everyone then sort em out. 😀1 point

Exactly..... I don't take it personally but then again, I might consider trying to take or blow up their supplies at that point when I wouldn't have otherwise.1 point

Well, I was trying to be diplomatic in my reply but since you asked..... What she wrote didn't deserve to what amounted to being termed a "B" IMO so I removed that one post of yours. I also considered the context and perhaps your particular sensitivity to the "mansplaining" label, etc. which is why I tried to diffuse it by asking everyone to move on. .....no warnings, etc. Clear enough, yes?1 point

Howdy there gunslinger ! I commend you on your vigilance to give no ground. A posse of 6 and you took em all ? Very nice ! I will say they must have been noobs to go out so easily. Folk running those long runs are usually on high alert and won't let anyone get close enough to fire a dynamite arrow or the likes. Just can't trust folks with that much loot on the line. After they saw you trying to go the other way and chased you is not what most will do as that means leaving the wagon unattended. Good for you bud. Give em hell ! Had that been an experienced posse I promise you you would not have done that. Chaulk yourself up a win but don't think your Billy Jack or anything bro. Rare occasion. Carry on1 point

Thanks for posting those weekly updates @Kean_1. They're the 1st thing I check out on a Tuesday.1 point

Trader and Collector are basically MUST HAVES... you'll be collecting stuff during the course of your general gameplay which otherwise would be unavailable to yourself In regards to your worries regarding your trade caravan being attacked, you have two options: 1) Local Delivery: Your location is not exposed to players in your session, you can deliver in Defensive Mode and the distance is MUCH shorter than the Distant deliveries (ie: Bluewater Marsh to Emerald Ranch or Van Horn). 2) Distant Delivery: Pays more, however you will be hilighted on the map for other players to rob you, cannot be in Defensive Mode and must be completed over RIDICULOUSLY long distances (ie: Bluewater Marsh to Thieves Landing). The longer distance will also leave you exposed to Rockstar disconnects. You start with a small delivery wagon... at Trader level 5, you unlock the option of purchasing the Medium delivery wagon for IIRC $800... and at Trader level 10, the option of purchasing the Large delivery wagon for a further $800. I would recommend not even attempting a distant delivery until you have purchased the Large delivery wagon. Until then the payoffs are not that drastically different. However, once you have the Large wagon, the local delivery pays $500 and the distant pays $625. At that point, it becomes a risk / reward decision. Constantly check to see how many players are on your server. Complete resupply missions and you have a fairly high chance of being dropped into a solo lobby or a lowly populated one. To get a feel for the amount of collectibles available, have a look here https://jeanropke.github.io/RDR2CollectorsMap/... trust me, you will be Level 20 in Trader and Collector before you know it.1 point

This was posted in this weeks newswire Red Dead Online players who connected their Social Club account with Twitch Prime can still claim the Bounty Hunter License for free1 point

I'm unsure if this is still available or not? anyone who successfully obtains all 54 Playing Cards in GTA Online will unlock the Collector's Bag for free in Red Dead Online along with a unique variant of the Cardenas Poncho. In order to receive these bonuses you'll need to have linked both your Red Dead Online and GTA Online accounts at the Social Club. Anyone who has already proved their collecting chops and grabbed the full deck (and linked both accounts at Social Club) will have the Collector's Bag available for free when the Red Dead Online update launches on September 10.1 point

Maybe a bit of a thief and bandit, but I wouldn’t quite go as far as saying he’s a turd... You won’t have a very successful career as a wagon thief if you don’t know a few good spots to wait for them to roll on by...1 point

Yes! The 30 second rule. All stranger missions have a timer, and the longer you take to turn them in the more you get paid. And at 30 seconds that represents the max amount you'll get paid. The longer the mission timer, the more cash and gold is involved. Also, notice that most missions will have a safe zone at turn in. For example: when bringing a wagon back to valentine station for alden (assuming you make it back) when you get near the yellow drop off area, you'll see a message pop up in the upper left of the screen saying something like "you're safe from enemy's". At that point you can wait out the timer in peace and safety. You will be a shadow to other players, they can walk right through you.1 point
-
Wait, are you saying that the later you turn in one of those missions, the more gold it earns? Because I've been doing loads of those Stranger missions, and they usually don't earn nearly that much. (I'm a bit partial to Bonnie MacFarlane's "On the hunt" missions. I've done some for Alden as well, though I skip the Escort missions now, as both times I tried that, "rival players" got involved and ir didn't turn out so well for me.)1 point

Collector is the most solo role. You can play trader solo, but you'll make a bit less money than you would if you had a teammate to help. Collector and trader pay cash. Bounty Hunter pays cash and gold, and you can participate in legendary bounty hunts. I love the trader role myself. Especially the stealing wagons part, lol. It's the most heart pounding exciting role to me. If you're new and grinding for gold and have no roles to play yet. Be sure to keep hitting up Alden missions. A 20 minute Alden mission turned in at the last 30 seconds will usually give about 44 nuggets of gold. PS, if you go trader and need wagon protection help, there are plenty here that will help. If you're Xbox I'm always down for a run.1 point

Hello, Thank you for your replies ! Yes, I can understand that the link is broken, but why this doesn't happen with other launchers (Steam, Ubi, Origin..) ? ==> At least, it is still possible to manually link the install path to the launchers. With Rockstar it is only "automatic". I was thinking also to delete everything, then reinstalling the game but 150 GB with my poor connection... ^^ In the end, I contacted Rockstar chat and the process to follow : - Free up the space needed for a new installation (this is not easy with this amount, but I moved temporarily others folder) - Click on install and choose the path where the game is actually installed The launcher will download the "missing" files and the game is ready to launch again ! No need to download again everything. The Launcher could be improved by having this option of putting the path where the game is already installed before checking if there is enough space to install the entire game. I will write feedback onto this to Rockstar. It could help for the future !1 point

I felt the same way once I started playing RDO. I'm surprised that mechanic didn't transfer over as I had used it numerous times in the campaign.1 point

I'm not into the Western genre at all and I was hesitant to get RDR II (never played RDR). But I'm really glad I got it, it has become one of my favorite games. Despite the genre.1 point

I have a friend who was always into futuristic gaming. Even GTA was never on his list. I talked him into getting RDR2 on PC and I didn't hear from him for 2 days. When I finally did, he sent me a text saying his wife is going to kick him out because all's he wants to do with his spare time is play the game lol1 point

Mods are not the only reason they will ban you. unfortunately you cant appeal it as their decisions are final and with the ban comes an account wipe.1 point

I use my bow only for dynamite and fire arrows as well. And if there is a pvp daily including bow. Tracking arrow for bounty hunter is a BS as well imo. Only for daily.1 point
-
I bought into small game arrows etc because I am rich so thought I should find out. Much like the hunting wagon I have ditched it. I use the varmint or the bolt action for hunting, depending on the size of the prey. If Cripps needs perfect carcasses I can get perfect rabbits with the varmint or perfect deer with a scoped bolt action. I found the small game arrows a lot of faff and prep for insufficient benefit. I reserve my bow for griefers and dynamite.1 point

The best thing about it is not the materials you gain from it, but the xp. You get like 300+ xp from it. I'm now a level 13 trader, so it certainly helps getting you up there faster. The salvage one was confusing as hell to me. I did it once and I had now idea what I was supposed to be doing. I managed to stumble across one dig spot, to find one collectible. It might be easier now that I'm a higher level as a collector and can spot collectible locations a lit easier now.1 point

Got banned today because someone joined my temporary Posse and sold feathers to my camp. Do not play of form a posse as you could be banned for some other players cheating. I did nothing wrong, Until this gets fixed ... DO NOT PLAY WITH POSSES or risk being banned. Just trying to warn fellow gamers. I was really enjoying the game and now my character is gone and I can't play for 30 days because Rockstars net code put some dude in my party that decided to do something he/she wasn't supposed to. Feels shitty.0 points
