  1. Not sure why. I'm not advocating people go around and randomly shoot others just because. I simply don't see this action being the same as griefing but I do see how some might be more aggressive about it than some would like. I'm also not saying I would kill someone else in the game just because they are fishing nearby, traveling the same road, etc. A lot depends on several different factors one of which is just how much of a threat I perceive someone to be based on the particular location / terrain, their actions / inaction, my posse strength, my personal experience with being jumped, etc. If it's just me and/or another buddy, I may not be willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt that is near the road we are traveling on as i would with a full posse. I'm also not one to actively go out and hunt down anyone within the range of the minimap either. Even someone traveling the same road I wouldn't consider attacking if we can see they are changing course to avoid us. .....but someone just sitting there next to the road, we have no idea what their intentions are until we're upon them. Personally, I don't fish anywhere near roads that close but I guess you never know. One reason is because if I hear a horse or footsteps, I know someone has gone out of their way to reach my location so I need to pack it up and figure out what's going on. In all other cases I'm a live and let live kinda guy. .....on missions though, it all depends as I don't see things so cut and dry in my ROE.
  2. Not that I've ever heard and just discovered about the OPs scenario yesterday when another member mentioned the same thing. I had to check to make sure they were not the same person but nope, two different individuals who were banned for a random in the posse donating feathers apparently.
  3. I do too but I also like to drink beer as part of the process.
  4. Naw.... Nothing to do with culture. Just that I'm not going to belittle my wife like that. She doesn't like scary movies and we may joke around about it but I'm not going to be patronizing. She knows it's not real but certain ones can make her feel really uncomfortable for certain reasons. I just don't watch those when she's around. The OPs wife has a problem with one aspect of the game involving the cries from dying animals which happens to bother her. She obviously knows it's not real. That sucks. I like some animals too but partly because I think they're tasty. That would be a bridge too far for me. Sorry you didn't see that incompatibility before it happened.
  5. If this is the case then the reason isn't because you exposed yourself by playing online or by forming a posse, it was due to the actions of a random that joined your open posse invite. Personally, I never join randoms or leave my posse open to strangers as this is a sure way for griefers to take advantage of me or my team. Seems someone now may have found a way to get people banned. My suggestion in that scenario to others would be to simply keep their posses closed and play with friends who don't use glitches, exploits or otherwise violate the rules that can be considered as bannable offenses. Only posse up with people you know or you vetted. btw, there was someone else who posted today regarding being banned for 30 days because of someone in their posse donating a ton of feathers at their camp. I would suggest trying to find a phone # you can call to discuss this with a representative. Did you happen to catch the players name? You can report them through R* Support and plead your case via a trouble ticket. ......or just open a ticket and see what they say.
  6. Cool deal. Glad that was it.
  7. You're making assumptions about something that hasn't come to pass yet. Also, we have no idea what else they may do as it will entirely depend on the severity of the offense. My guess is that it's simply a 1 month ban as they said Personally, if you can replay to the email, I would do that. None of us are privy to what actions you may have taken or what R* thinks you have taken. The thing is, if you're not being honest, we'll never know the answer and if you are being honest, we'll still never know unless R* tells you.
  8. Just for online I'd imagine as in-game money, GBs and items are not tied into one or the other.
  9. Well, there ya go.....
  10. Same here..... I had kept joining other friend's sessions so I totally lost track of where I was on those other roles. ....we usually did bounties and/or other people's tasks. It wasn't until I joined my own solo session for the sole purpose of locating some of these treasures I've been hoarding away that I had the same problem.
  11. IIRC, that region is blocked until you unlock it later in the story. The wanted level and relentless attacks are the way they keep you out instead of invisible walls, boundaries with timers and the like.
  12. I had this issue as well. Check your map for any yellow discovery points. I realized I still had items that I had to collect from what I believe was the collector role or something similar along those lines. Once that was completed, they disappeared and then I was able to open a treasure map from my satchel.
  13. Definitely.... I'm not the kind to "100%" a game but I do like to explore all the side missions, grind for money, weapons, etc. .....but nearly to the end of the story myself. Still got a lot to go but i just need to take the time to get roped back into the story again but I'll get there.
  14. "Trader wagon hunting/defending tips thread"
  15. @The_Liquor is right about tact. I don't agree with Netnow's logic either on griefing (forcing yourself into solo sessions is a different story IMO as I've explained) but that's no reason to start insulting him about it. Let's keep it civil, ok?
  16. Well, R* doesn't just ban people for "no reason" and they don't take the action lightly. .....but if you believe you were misjudged, I'd suggest contacting them through their Support page but just be aware that they state "All Red Dead Online suspension and banning decisions are final and may not be appealed." so I don't know how successful you'll be at getting it lifted. https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624j507?redirect_lang=en_us&_ga=2.178143397.1604750760.1574282664-2071812124.1574282664 Just know that RDR2.org is a fan site and in no way affiliated with R* or Take Two. There's nothing we can do to change this for you unless someone has some experience, special contact you can reach, etc.
  17. .....I meant about getting back into groove to finish the story. It'll take me a session and then I'll be able to knock it out over the course of several evenings. I'm not that far from the end as far as I recall.
  18. Hi UK, The Support page is pretty easy to navigate. For this particular issue I would have chosen "Online Play", "Bug Report", "PC" and then "Contact Us" to open the report page where you can include all of the details to open your trouble ticket. Someone may also be able to help you here if an interaction misunderstanding, etc. but if it's a bug, you'll probably want to submit a report because none of us will be able to fix that for you unless there is some sort of workaround in that scenario. We can all "support" you in that sense but please remember that RDR2.org is a fan site not affiliated with R* or Take Two.
  19. Not really the point if this thread but yeah, ok. .....good luck.
  20. Congrats.... I'm a little embarrassed to admit this but I never finished the game. It's not that I found the campaign boring (quite the opposite), it's just that when RDO came out, I jumped on that. I just need to get back into the story and the groove one night and I'll finish it.
  21. I probably wouldn't because of what @The_Liquor said about people being sneaky but for me, it depend on how close they were to us, etc. I will say that I always found it stupid that you didn't have the radar available while fishing. Back when the app still worked for blips, I would use that instead.
  22. For defending.... Posse up. This can't be stressed enough for long deliveries. Few things in this game are more beneficial than playing with a posse of friends. If you're alone, consider local deliveries instead or accept the fact that there's a good chance you will never make it to your destination. .....more reward = more risk. Simple as that.
  23. It is deliberate. R* went over their reasoning for the slow release of new content in a relatively recent interview: https://www.vg247.com/2019/09/27/red-dead-online-future-heists-villain-lawmen-business/ There is zero chance in my mind of RDO ever becoming anything so over the top as some of the things you describe using GTAO as an example. .....at least if we go by R*'s vision they have laid out for us. if you haven't read it already, that article provides some interesting insight and (for me) some reassurances that they will be taking RDO in the direction I would like it to go.
  24. There are things that make my wife uncomfortable like certain types of scary movies, certain criminal docus, etc. Guess what?...... I don't try to make her feel stupid about it by explaining the obvious or dismissing /questioning her anxieties, emotions, etc. I simply don't watch them when she's around out of respect.
