  1. He's just asking for clarification on the game mechanics which is something R* is really lousy at doing in this game with a lot of them.
  2. Keeps us updated if you don't mind. The news today didn't include any info on bug fixes and the like.
  3. https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/60976/Introducing-the-Wild-Animal-Kills-Challenge-and-Head-For-The-Hills-Mod No indications of addressing common bugs / glitches / exploits but then again, I saw a couple things being addressed as hotfixes on their end. EDIT: There is a 150 MB patch today though (thanks for pointing it out @The_Liquor).

  5. You may want to include your platform, region, time frame and possibly game tag. Some of these things can be included in your profile by editing it.
  6. Hi Jack and welcome to the forums. As mentioned, you may want to include your console of choice and perhaps a timeframe that you tend to be available. There are options in your profile to add XB1 / PS4 as well as your gamer tag.
  7. Great news @Antonia and thanks for sharing this information with the rest of the community.
  8. That's odd. I would take a screen shot and submit a trouble ticket to R* if you can't find an option or other way to change it back. https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507?redirect_lang=en_us&_ga=2.92682074.697679242.1558973881-1955112014.1545627341
  9. If someone wants to go around trolling and grieving others, what do I care If they are run out of the session by one of their victim(s). In fact, I applaud it. If someone likes to think of themselves as a type of lawman for doing it, Im perfectly fine with that because in my eyes (in a way) they are.
  10. While this thread is specifically about the "CE" error, Antonia is right about using the information here on how to report your issue. ......but I would like to keep this thread about the CE34878-0 blue screen crashing problem. There are a variety of issues folks are experiencing after the last update.
  11. Hi Dmax and welcome to the forums. You may also want to submit your ideas through R*'s Feedback website here: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadonline/feedback?redirect_lang=en_us There are taking suggestions so you might as well take advantage of it. ......and of course discuss your ideas here too with the community.
  12. Added a "spoiler" tag to the title.....
  13. She is still dealing with 1st Tier Support. These guys aren't running people around but simply running off of scripts. Once all of the steps on that script are exhausted, they kick the support ticket up to the next tier. ....so instead of someone from a call center talking to her, the next agent may likely be a R* employee rather than a farmed-out contractor. This is why folks should be persistent. Now, if an issue is "known", these reps should have the information passed down to them so that when the problem comes up they give the typical answer that it's a known issue and that the devs are working on it which is what I got. ....so either the call center didn;t pass his info along to everyone as they should, or that rep I had gave me that reply on accident or....? I would be interested to hear what the escalation team has to say regarding @Antonia's support ticket.
  14. When people encounter those glitches, I sure hope they are reporting them to R*.
  15. Yes, I believe they can. As to whether they are able to restore it for you is another matter.
  16. Well, if what that rep told me is true, then they know about it and are looking to resolve the problem.
  17. Right now, I just want them to fix the "CE" crashes I've been experiencing..... Personally, unless someone is using exploits against me in the game, I don't really care one way or the other if they get punished. As long as the glitches and exploits get fixed and the game works so I can play, I'm happy.
  18. Yeah, IME R* Support wouldn't typically say that the devs are working on it unless they received word that it's and acknowledged issue. If this does get resolved, I'll finally be able to start playing with others finally. Maybe we can ride together again if your up for it. I haven't even done any of the story missions because I didn't want to crash in the middle of one.
  19. Naw, that's good. I appreciate the advice and information. The nitty-gritty of this networking stuff was never my strong point. Thanks.
  20. IIRC, there is an option to go back into the trouble ticket and escalate. I've had to do that before. Also, the same thing happened to me recently with my ticket regarding the "CE" blue screen error. However, I was still able to go back into it and make a comment (telling them it's not resolved). I received more responses after that and eventually (last night) received and acknowledgement that R* is aware of the issue and working on a resolution. So, would you recommend simply setting it to 1476 and leaving it there? What I mean is, will it negatively impact other games in regard to performance or....? In other words, is their and advantage to setting it back to 1500 afterward? Thanks.
  21. Well, last night I received this reply: ...so, it seems that according to this rep, R* knows about the issue and are working to resolve it. I will try to get a confirmation and let them know others are getting a mixed signal. However, please note that I had already gone through all of the steps leading up to that reply when none of them worked. It's possible that they have been told to do those troubleshooting steps first to make sure.
  22. In that sense, sure. I'll agree with that. Same with anyone who exploits features or uses glitches in ways to cheat the system / other players. Again, not seeing it myself but where there's a will there's a way. For me, Defensive Mode has worked quite well so far as anyone I have encountered so far has essentially ignored me. ...although someone (I think) did try to shoot at me. Since I had a full load of pelts and carcasses, I simply rode away and in no hurried fashion either. They came toward me but veered off. However, just as I got the butcher I received a posse invite from the player in question and then immediately a blue screen crash (the CE34878-0 error). .....crap.

    Forum help?

    Thanks for helping out Kormath.
  24. You may label Defensive Mode as a cheat, a close comparison or whatever but the truth is that it's simply an option for those who prefer not to be indiscriminately killed by randoms while in Free Roam. It's not a "passive" option either as you can still be killed by someone willing to face the consequences of doing so which is why they call it "Defensive" mode. .....but labels are really a moot point here. Personally, I have no issue with players who choose to use Offensive Mode and/or welcome randoms to engage them in Free Roam but I'm also not trying to tell them how they should enjoy the game (nor do I care). It doesn't affect me whether someone chooses Defensive or Offensive mode, whether they like skirmishes with other players or simply want to do their own thing and be left alone. In fact, I'm glad they have more options now to help them enjoy the game as they wish. You seem to be suggesting that PvP is an vital part of Free Roam that people should not be without when that's simply not true. There are a lot of people who would prefer not to engage in conflicts with randoms while in Free Roam and R* obviously agrees. ....hence the extensive anti-griefing features and new options. What I don't get is that you say you have no issue with those preferring Defensive Mode yet you keep trying to convince us not to. If you don't care if folks use it, then why the hard sell that it's the wrong choice to do so? Personally, I use Defensive Mode when I just want to be left alone but then again, as @Jackalope_Jill pointed out, folks were avoiding randoms in this game long before these new features were introduced. I did too. I still play missions that switch me back Offensive Mode that carry the risk of being attacked by other players. I just don't always want to deal with them when I'm fishing, hunting or performing some other tasks. That's just the way I enjoy playing this game. Others may not share that same opinion and I'm perfectly fine with that. I guess the difference between us is that I simply don't feel the need nor desire to try and convince them otherwise.
