What Are You The Most Excited About?

I am just generally most excited to see what they have done that will set it apart from GTA V. Like I know there will be a lot of things that are similar but given the feedback and tinkering they got to do, I would expect it to have some really cool new features.

I'm not really sure. I mean I bought the game for the story so if I happen to like the online bit of it, great but if now, I am at no loss here. I am going to give it a try. I really won't know what I am excited for until I actually play it I guess is what I am saying.

I bought the game for the story and the online mode. I am usually an online gamer, but it's a Red Dead game so I needed to play the story to see what happened before John Marston's story.

There are certain games that I enjoy playing online. Ones built for it at the core of the game. I think the reason I get put off by these kinds of games is the community that tends to invade them. Not you guys but like the raging children and the try-hards who treat online gaming like it is a job when they make $0 for it.

There's only one community that really pushed me away long and far, and that is the Call of Duty community.

I spent many years loving those games but as they got more and more repetitive and the community got more and more childlike... I just had to walk away. Rockstar games will never have that level of immaturity all stuck in one place at a single time. I remember joining and leaving several lobbies when Ghosts came out and nearly every single one had someone screaming in it or someone laughing about tea bagging. Couple that in with all the issues that game had when it first came out, I threw my disc out the window. Those games are great for competitive play if you have a party to play with, that is about it. Public regular lobbies are toxic as hell.

The last REAL Call of Duty game that was SO fun was Black Ops 2.... the series pretty much ended there. All of the Call of Dutys before that was amazing as well. I just dont like the games anymore, its either 1. I played them for so long and matured out of it. or 2. The lack of innovation.

A-freaking-MEN!

That was the last CoD game I was heavily invested in.  I can't even play Destiny.  Halo: Reach was the last time I fell in love with a shooter.  Now, I gravitate towards ARPGs (God do I miss Marvel Heroes Omega).  RDR2 is basically a sandbox ARPG from my perspective, and it's so damn immersive, I lose myself in the game for HOURS at a time, literally doing NOTHING but exploring, hunting, and fishing.

At this point, I have about 50GB of useable space on my PS4 HD.  I don't plan on upgrading for awhile, so a hefty COD install is out of the question right now.

Plus, I'll need to start making some hard decisions in March when TCTD2 comes out.  I almost cried when I uninstalled the first one to make room for RDR2, so I'll probably bite the bullet and get a larger HD after the holidays.

Ya, got burnt out of CoD after BO2 as well.  Sticking to games that at least have some RPG elements to them myself.

I'm hoping online has some of the missions from the original RDR revamped.  One of my favorites was the one where you enter a mine, kill all the guards, bring dynamite to the cart and escort it outside.   Also hoping the bug where a lot of people have a worn weapon stuck in their inventory doesn't get carried over to online.  I'm sure gang hideouts will still be there as they were in the first.  Hopefully there will also be something done about lost horses.  I'd imagine a lot of people will be killing others horses and it would suck to have to constantly buy a new one.  Maybe a penalty system similar to destroying another players car in GTA:O.

An ambush game mode might also be fun, where one team has to protect a convoy while the other team has to setup an ambush and take the convoy, with the win criteria being either the convoy reaches the end (or ambush team gets wiped out), or the convoy guards get taken out (the players on the team, or even NPC's that need to be protected).  This may work best with a train rather than coaches, since killing the horses would stop the convoy from reaching the end, turning the mode essentially into last team standing.

Yeah, honestly I've been pretty bored with most games until RDR2 came out, it gave me a reason to be excited about something for once, and I just really like the game. Hopefully, Red Dead Online will be a huge hit and keep me busy for years to come.

What is all gonna come with Red Dead Online?

Such as free roam? Group missions to take out hide outs? Or something similar?

There's not much we know for certain.  R* is keeping things secret, though there have been some leaks, mostly data mining.  We know we'll be able to own a variety of wagons (can't wait to get a war wagon, tho it'll probaly be like buying the mobile command center in GTA:O and take a while to save up for) and we know theres a battle royale mode, but no info on how many players.  There was something about horse racing, and based on the special/ultimate edition bonuses, we get a camp (i'm guessing it's like the one from story where we throw down anywhere in the wilderness to sleep and craft.)

I had to do a bounty this morning in the mine I mentioned was one of my favorite missions from the first RDR...  It was Gaptooth Ridge.  Just hoping some of the fan favorite missions from the first one make their way into this one (not all, and we definitely need a lot of new ones).  Also, hoping there's plenty built around Fort Mercer and the fort in Ambarino... attacking forts is always fun.  And owning property like in GTA would be nice, even if it's just buying one of the gang hideouts from story mode (dutch's hideout or any of the gang hideouts from like Lemoyne Raiders and whatnot)

Yes, there is a Battle Royale mode. However, it won't be the main part of the game, as Battle Royale in Red Dead Online, will most likely be a small-scaled mode, nothing close to the size of Fornite and other games Battle Royale based games. Rockstar has claimed it's going to bring back the best things about GTA V into the Red Dead Series which is Heists, and all the DLC content that made it really fun, that kind of stuff will be in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Owning property in Red Dead Online has already been found in the game files and confirmed. I made a post about this particular subject, which can be found here: https://www.rdr2.org/forums/topic/1461-leaked-list-of-vehicles-properties/

I'm counting the seconds for the online part to come out I'm considering hibernation until late november, I finished the game twice and I'm starting to try a third time just because I can't get enough of it.... I can't say what I'm exicited about right now because I don't trust anything that isn't official from R* so I can only talk about real stuff after it's released ( even the leaks that I didn't see they confirming it ) BUT I do have a list of hopes I wished it came true for the online part hahahaha

  • What I want to see is the same thing from RDR1 but "bigger, better, stronger"... meeting random people and going for a gang hideout to shoot all those AI enemies. More CO-OP feel than all these online experiences in all the other games.
  • Getting weapons for finishing missions, doing feats or whatever else.
  • Heist like mission without any kind of restriction, you can solo, you can duo, you can use your whole Posse for it kinda like the last doomsday heist... high risk - high reward stuff, you can do it all alone, but it will be hard AF and it will be worth it OR you can go safe, enter with 200 people and get a dollar for each.
  • Be able to challenge people for Duels on free roam. ( Holstered Cowboy Pistol showdown )
  • Drunken bar brawls.
  • Free roam races, much like the strangers you meet, be able to challenge someone to a race out in the open and not only on instanced race tracks or missions.
  • Cool craftables that will make me want to go out of my way to find a rare pink fairy armadillo hiding on the blue side of the moon.

Now what I don't want to see, is K/D warriors dancing around  and shooting you for no reason whatsoever with bullsh*t fast shooting BB guns that can out-DPS a cannon. Unfortunately I know I'm daydreaming on this one. On that note I only hope it doesn't turn out to be like a free-for-all deathmatch where being a cowboy on the old west is a luxury you can't have.

Cool, didn't see that one.  Been looking for news via google every day for weeks now about RDO.  Guess I must've missed the one about the properties, or something.  Doesn't look like much info on the properties, but at least they're there.  Sounds like we might have options ranging from something like a shack in the swamp to owning our own ranch or plantation.  These are just guesses of mine based on what's in that leaked list (mostly the only one that has a description, property 6, rugged homliness in countryside which sounds nice), maybe not something as big as a ranch or plantation, but definitely options similar to GTA's range of properties, like a penthouse apartment in Saint Denis.

I would play this mode exclusively.

I would love that as well.  Reminds me of a scene from Hell on Wheels where there's a huge bar brawl, and when the marshall comes in, nobody even remembers what they're fighting about.  Maybe turn that into a Battle Royale mode.  Last Drunk Standing, or something like that.

I love free roam and would like to continue with this online, so would appreciate to keep doing things as solo and occasionally co-op games. Still on chapter 3 in story mode as I'm struggling on keeping away from free roaming and actually doing the story...

I'm just thinking out loud here...

* New trappers that will make even more items so that I can continue to hunt :)

* I actually love the treasure hunts as it takes you across the entire map and you are looking at the nature for details when on the hunt for gold rather than just moving from a to b. I would like to continue with treasure hunts online. Would be nice to be able to hide money, gold, jewelry or just some poor snake skins :) and make treasure maps for others to find.

* Keep having stranger encounters that will need you to recruit other online players nearby in mini games or similar to raise or lower honor.

* Would like to have a companion (NPC). Could be a dog, perhaps a wolf or even an indian friend that would assist in fights or mainly to help you hunt. Different perks for different companions etc...

* If you have low honor it would open up for certain areas, towns, games to take part in where no high honor fellas are welcome and vice versa.

* Together with other online players helps settlers (NPC) to build up a town with contributions to their treasure box (or rob it instead). Depending on other online players to visit and spend money for the town to survive and thrive (and be raided) or for it to slowly degenerates and become a ghost town. Sort of expanding the idea of investing in your camp as we do in story mode...
