HIGHHorse
I know on GTA V online, after a few months it was basically riddled with children crying over their cars getting blown up or getting killed. I would hate to think RDR2 online ends up just like that. What kind of parent buys their 9-14 year old a game like this anyways!? For damn shame! How do you think the online community will be in RDR2?
FLIP
Most players of RDR were older. I would say late teens to mid 30's made up most of the fan base. I would like to think that is what we would have online for the most part. It isn't like GTA where it attacked kids who wanted to drive around fancy cars and run from the cops lol
Archbell
Like @FLIP said the online community in RDR were older so hopefully there won't be as many kids in RDR2 but to be honest I don't think the age of the GTA Online community was the main problem, I came across people of all ages that were equally pathetic and annoying. There was a large cancerous community on GTA Online dedicated to protecting their KD ratio by using Passive Mode, Bull Shark Testosterone, Fighter Jets and killing themselves and sadly most of them were grown men so I think Rockstar will need to work on making less easy to abuse features in RDR2. riptide87
Yeah GTA was largely just a pool of trolls and cry babies. I think the way they made the online game attracted this kind of player though. I am hoping RDR2 doesn't do the same though I highly doubt this will be the case. There will be trolls here and there as with any online game but it won't ruin the experience. brokebackbrian
They will be the same. Most people will be on to enjoy the game and a few weeds will be on to troll. Nothing like GTA V, thankfully. Love that game but could never enjoy it unless I played it with a decently large group of friends so we could take over a whole server.
SNAK3S
I hate when some snot nosed kids play games like this. It ruined GTA V online for me. Just got old after awhile. I feel like what was mentioned above is true though. This game attracts older players and it isn't "trendy" like GTA has become so it isn't like some cool game all the 10 to 14 year olds will be looking to play to be "cool". Even if the online ends up being amazing, the kid crowds won't be on till later in the year at which point all the true fans will already have a control over the servers. How do you think the online community will be in RDR2? The same as before. Very minimal trolls and mostly adult or adult minded teens playing. I can't see the same issues that have happened on GTA happening on RDR2 online.
ZLion
If someone told me that the players would be anything like GTA V after the 6 month mark, I would never play. Soon as all the kids started getting the game and going on, it just killed it for me. I would just stick to playing on servers where I had a large group of friends on other wise it was just unbearable. Kids running around screaming and doing stupid stiff. Bleh. Sucks too cause had there been a more mature player base which is what the game is for anyways, I bet more adult players would have still been playing. I don't know many who still do aside from Youtubers and Twitch Streamers.
riptide87
Yeah a toxic community can ruin even the best of games. It is part of the reason I am very picky of what I actually do play online and who I play with. I seldom want to do any online game without a friend cause the trolls and kids just get to me. Hazed0NE
Someone I was talking to the other day brought this topic up and we had a light debate on it. It seems like a lot of people are under the assumption that the community will be just as bad as GTA V's was. I don't see it. This game has never been something to appeal to kids which is a good thing. Heck, even GTA should never have appealed to kids but it did. So the community will be for the most part made of adults and that is a good thing in my book.

You would think it would be more appealing to kids though but it isn't like the 80's or 90's where kids were into Cowboys and Indians. It is mainly down to enjoying cops and robbers and GTA is that and them some. Only, you are the "robber".
VICKSUN
The players will be not better or worse. It is an online game. There will always be a group of trolls and a group of cry babies. The trick is being able to overcrowd a server with your friends so no one else can join lol

People used to like video games as an escape from reality but more and more, people (including kids) want to be in a separate reality. Something that can be real and feel real but isn't.
