It seems like some people are having issues with this and others like myself are not. I used to eat two pieces of meat a game-day before the last update. Then I got fat! Now I pretty much eat like a bird and nothing gets me below being overweight. I'm wondering if it's more of a glitch with the status, though. If I look at my core draining rates, they seem to be ok for the most part.
Ratly Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 I ran a story mission and when I exited back to free roam I saw the indicator that I lost weight. When I checked my weight it said I was overweight...

VICKSUN Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 According to everything I have found, the stats are right but what is showing is not. I think they need to patch something. I am sure they are aware of it, I see a lot of fatties running around now lol

Whenever You gain or loose weight there is a quick animation on Your health circle showing a weight icon with an arrow pointing up or down depending on loosing or gaining weight. It only lasts for a second or so. 1

Poggy Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 I came out of a free roam event today, and it suddenly said I'd achieved my maximum weight ... What? I was underweight a second ago??? 1
Traks1 Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 On the upside, now my char is able to survive on fresh air and the fumes from am empty baked beans can for days at a time, I has lots more to sell at the butchers. Win. 1

It was horrible because they were making diabetic jokes (one of them is a diabetic so I guess that makes it somewhat okay? lol) 2
CosmoKramer Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 This thread makes me reminisce about GTA San Andreas where you had to beef up on as many burgers/pizza/fried chicken as your character could handle without puking in order to have enough health to complete the ambulance/fire/police missions. R*'s implementation of the effects of diet and exercise peaked with that game I think. I did have my RDO character puking after eating too many prairie poppies the other day, didn't think to check whether I lost any weight tho.
TENlbPONYTAIL Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 (edited) I have spent the last couple days getting the weight off a somewhat. I set camp and just run and jump up and down a hill till my stamina core is gone rest at camp to fill it and repeat. I got to average weight played a few gun rushes only using tonics and i log on today and im stupid huge again. I am fed up up with this. I've wasted so many hours for what? To stay fat. Cant take much more of it. Maybe I'll fo hunting for a couple hours so the server can kick me just before i go to the trapper. Edited May 6, 2019 by TENlbPONYTAIL

As for myself i noticed that when you use too many tonics in pvp games it will add weight so i try not to pop em like tic tacs. Too loose weight ( i was super overweight too) i stopped using ANY kind of food and been like that since 3 or 4 weeks, I only use brandy or gin when i really need my stamina and dead eye cores up when no time to stop and relax a bit (mostly while beeing "ganked" while skinning an animal or sth). Mostly i just relax and let the cores to be white - or go to camp to fill em up to 100%. You dont really need cores maxed out all the time - just need them white. Also running around to loose weight is a waste of time imo. Also my weight is now "normal" with +7,5% dmg taken and -7,5% stamina usage so for me its very close to be underweight.
CPUTestUnit Posted May 10, 2019 Posted May 10, 2019 (edited) 2 things I can add here. you might rest a long time ingame without eating, running around and similar, or even by doing so, to loose waight, but before you log off, ensure to do something that saves your status, like changing the Lobby, so it is ensured the work was recognised. Do this Always when you realised the effekt of loosing waight, to ensure it is kept. The second thing is, if you play a female charakter you never gonna gain visual waight. You always stay slim (if you choosen this while creating your charakter). At the same time you have the system telling you your fat in red with an arrow pointing right to the sky. So the mechaniks use the status but ist not vissible for females. Edited May 11, 2019 by CPUTestUnit 1
TENlbPONYTAIL Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Thanks guys. Just like you said after pvp match I gained back all my losses. But I only use tonics once or twice a match. 4 matches later im fat again. So its like I cant even use my tonics huh. I just wish I didnt have too learn the hard way with no direction. Probly have to quit, I'm feelin real madsad about this. It's just WAY too much work and not enough fun. I mean dont ya think. I'm reading alot about people have stopped eat altogether. Which I have, and dont use tonics in pvp, which I only do when needed. But no results. And now spending time on this forum to learn why nothing helps. But thanks again and keep up the good work. Im sure another poor soul could use this info.

I could never see any visual change in whether I was under or overweight, and wondered whether the effect was just really subtle. It never occurred to me that they just wouldn't let girl characters get fat. I wonder what weird R* logic was at play there....

Guess ist the same mechanism as not displaying other things like natives or allowing topless women. In short, no Company wants to raise the risk for an possible "official" complainment case ruining the brand.
Kean_1 Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 For those of you that have been plagued by this issue I thought I would update this thread. According to R*, the problem has been addressed in today's Title Update: Fixed several issues that resulted in the player’s character gaining weight too quickly. The player will now lose weight over time at a quicker rate, and liquid consumables no longer increase weight.
