Howdy partner , the night of the update we got targeted by a posse from hell ! All 7 we're 135 or higher in level all had explosive rounds.  Well we fought a good fight but got our asses handed to us lol. Point being after being shot we would eat treated big game meat to replenish cores. After the battle we all looked like we were in a Santa contest !  I have eaten nothing but fruit since. Let those cores stay barly covering the bottom. It took 3 days but my weight is average again. Hope this helps

I personally only worry about the rings rather than the core while in a big gun fight cuz you could easily die as soon as you eat something.

I am curious as to if using tonics is like eating/drinking.

Also resting in camp helps too if you don't want to eat to fill the core but need it filled.

Not going to lie, I'm looking forward to "Fat Bropollo Creed" online tonight.  I'm going to eat like, 15 steaks and 8 cans of beans.  Then I'm going to wash it down with a stick of butter.  Oh, sticks of butter aren't a thing online?  I guess I'l have to settle for whiskey at the saloon.

I was sick of my character looking like he was strung out on meth.  Bring on the fat!

Yes sir it is my belief that it doesn't matter what you consume ,a well placed headshot will drop you like a bag of dirt. And yep resting at camp is priceless !

Some people's characters look a bit different depending on the muscle build. Also it affects how fast your horse can run and drains its stamina faster I believe.

I. WANT. FAT.

I've been waiting for this day.  Being a lazy bum, I don't feel like combing through >1k posts, but I've said in the past that I was looking forward to playing as a fat barefoot moonshine enthusiast bedecked in the most resplendent overalls available at my local haberdashery.

Now I just need the ironic monacle to complete the ensemble...

R* should at least gift us free sweatpants if they're not going to fix it.

I was thinking the same damn thing! I went from having an issue with keeping weight on to turning into a bloated beached whale. I feel like my character is bound to have a massive heart attack the next time I have to walk more than 20 feet.

I ran from Emerald Ranch to Valentine yesterday just to see what would happen lol I'm still putting foot prints and the cement LOL

Yeah one of my friends ran from emerald ranch to van horn the other day. He's still upset that after I shot and killed him and respawned that he was suddenly overweight. And one of my other friends said he looked like Uncle Phil from fresh prince and we died laughing.

I'm amused that the weight isn't terribly noticeable on women tho.

I cannot get my character to gain weight.  I make her eat so unhealthy too sometimes.  It seems that the ladies just do not get bigger.  Can I have this in real life, please?  Maybe there's a 'fat glitch' going on?  Just like in GTAO when the 'man face' glitch was appearing on all the female characters.

Sadly, after eating fifteen steaks in one sitting, five cans of beans, and drinking multiple coffees and burbons, my character didn't gain an ounce.

The one time I want a bug to work in my favor, and R* has the audacity to ruin THAT for me as well.

IDK.  Just as I was signing off last night my female character for the first time went from underweight to average.  I haven't looked at it since.  I've been hoping to get her to average because the male characters have the weight advantage but it kinda freaked me out.

All I really eat is meat.  Costs nothing, except the ammo and fills all the cores.

Edit.  Yeah now I checked it this morning and my female character says overweight for first time since beta launch.   Doesn't look any different really though.  Who knows bug, some kinda R* test, or change in calculation.

Damnb. Idk why some get fat easily while others don't. I've heard some get it from eating seasoned meat. Try that plus candy. Does it say average or you going by looks?

Since the update dropped, I am overweight. I barely eat anything, run around a lot, increase all my cores by rest...and I'm still fat!

Don't know what to do! They need to implement a Weight Watchers in this game.

wish they either removed it entirely from online, or at least had a way to track your weight to see how much
(ex: bars) you are in order to see how much you need to eat or starve

also spawning with half of your health and stamina after death is annoying as hell. especially with no hat on..

I experienced this most during story mode. But once I beat the game I turned off my xbox, got off the couch more, and ate less  junk food I noticed I was back down to my normal wait. Seriously though, my character is always under weight, no matter how much I eat.

It seems like they went from one extreme to the other. Before I had trouble keeping my weight on and now I can eat nothing but air and can't seem to lose anything. I am in the same boat as all of you.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm resurrecting an old thread As a public service,

R* finally admitted to me that being  "overweight " is a known bug (along with the 12 others I submitted)

Can't guarantee it but probably don't waste your time (like me) doing sprints, dead lifts of alligator skins, and eating healthy.  Apparently no way to lose the weight.

they need to either remove it, or make it more manageable, I literally have been starving my character, and resting at camp and still overweight since the original Update. its annoying as hell that i cant at least see the progression of how close i am to losing weight or gaining.

I can confirm that I received the same response from R* a few days ago.

Yeah I guess i'm not alone with this "overweight bug"

it's not an appearance thing  (although my girl doesn't look heavy, she sort of looks better with some weight vs. b4 when she looked strung out) it's the stamina thing that's driving me nuts.

I do a little running and she's all out of breath and I can't swim for more than a minute.  Waiting for her to keel over from heart-attack or spit up blood or something.

The slow down in running is  sometimes the difference between a bullet in the back of the head and a delivered bag or something.

All they told me is they're working on fixing it.

I do like the idea that they should add a bar or meter or something tell you where you stand.
