  1. "A" coat? As in only one? Bro, I command thee to get to thy nearest haberdashery so that thou may be as resplendent enough to command the respect of strangers in an online game. GET THEE TO A HABERDASHERY!!!

  2. Hey all! Figured we could do with a post for pictures of posses? It's always fun to pose with the gang and look cool! This is some of our posse, the Black Hats. Our camp was in the swamp, and one morning, before setting off, we took a photo! How about everyone else? Posse photos to share?

  3. Thematic character names would be great. We got to name our character, but why? It's never used. Instead of Western names, all I ever see is XL ShottyKing XL or bLaZeBoi48. Shame

  4. Not sure I understand exactly what you are trying to say, but RDR Online is garbage. RDR2 story mode is amazing. Yes, I remember RDR1 to have a better story and more content. BUT....memory is very deceptive. You will not convince me after fully completing RDR2 and then playing RDR1 again, that RDR1 is a better game. It is not. RDR2 is definitely the better game between the two.

  5. Ciao, paisano. An American here. Like you, I also played the original game and will not be playing online. The visual beauty and the attention to detail are what drew me to the first game and keeps me playing this version. I could have finished weeks ago and have been avoiding concluding the second epilogue for weeks. I am retired and I live in the northern US where climate slows down my outdoor activity. This time of year has always been a period when I can afford the time to indulge in what most people consider a waste of time. Is gaming a waste of time? Is recreation a waste of time? I consider it a hobby. Something that I do that helps me relax. Something that takes my mind off of the bullsh*t that we all have to deal with in our daily lives. Escapism. Exercising our imaginations to combat the mundane. I have killed thousands of people, monsters, robots from outer space and all creatures great and small in video games. I have read books that described the hideous acts against humanity. I live in Detroit, for gods sake, the murder capitol of the world! Still I think that violence is nonsense. Red Dead 2 still has some juice left in it for me, even if its only picking flowers. Even if it only keeps me posting to a gentleman that lives in Italy to hang in there. Perhaps some DLC will come along for single player to renew interest. I sure hope so, because I dont see any games coming up that rouse my interest. That would make for a long, cold winter here in Michigan.😪

  8. Today I tested Online for an hour. I think it was enough. Then I powered off my PS4. The game is beautiful, we all know. Now I think back to RDR in 2010. What do we have here ? Nicer graphics, great. New story,ok, it's finished. DLCs ? ok, not yet. Online ? Beta, fine, and to be honest RDR original with undead nightmare is much better than this. So at the end....aren't we just repeating the whole RDR "package" ? Somebody passes hours and hours killing others...well...tons of games to do that, and a lot faster and better. I don't know...I'm rethinking all of it. Am not sure about anything anymore. I don't know, I just don't know. Maybe the psycological hype we had in the last two/three years blew a big bubble...and now it kind of exploded....for me at least...don't know. Just sharing what I was thinking. Not being negative. Hope not to disturb anybody. Any comments will be glad to read. Maybe I need some input...oh well. Have a good evening, ciao from Italy.

  9. So here we are with some REAL SUPER PIZZAs from the north of Italy. This is the best place I know in the North, about 1h where I live, and once a month (since it's not near) I go and have a real pizza. It's too good. It's so special. Look and love. If you want the address just ask. It's in Milano. Ciao !

  11. Griefers seek easy targets. Many claim to be great PvP players but run when a PvP player shows up. They generally concerned about their K/D ratio to the point that if you kill them easily that they will change servers and then report you for griefing them.

  13. Most of the names all look the same to me. I'm sure there's a kernel of difference in there between them all. But when you have to sift through all of the cute; Large Font/Small Font/Numbers for Letters/Letters for Numbers/ETC. it just isn't worth my time to decipher who's who. If I am trying to figure out who you are and your name looks like a fill in for an eye chart, guess what, I will simply call you "Target Next" and move on. Personally, I think this hurts the process of building an online "community", but that's probably just me. In all likelihood, even if they did start using character names instead, people would just name their characters in the same fashion. So, I don't know that it gains us much unless R* made a naming policy which would have to be policed and managed. Other companies have done this in the past. But I don't think this is a road R* wants to go down.

  14. Only if they aren't camping your camp. I've seen griefers go through a LOT more effort for a smaller payoff. Do we really want them "more" challenging, given the paltry pittance of the reward for the effort? Making them more "challenging" almost exclusively means making them take longer to complete, especially in this context. Who gets mauled by a grizzly after it happens the first time in story mode? Am I the only one who uses dynamite to solve all his problems in the game? You'll have to elaborate on this idea a bit more, because I'm missing something here. Like "Phase 2". I'm fairly confident that players are already "afraid to die" because of how easy it is. What you're proposing would actually incentivize griefers to go after players who are out hunting and fishing, or doing some other task and just want to be left in peace. Better, but it could still be abused by large groups or posses. How? One member of a posse racks up a huge bounty, then lets his friends/co-conspirators essentially farm him for the bounty. You'd also have a hard time collecting as a solo player or a smaller group against a well organized posse. And if they get wind of you gunning for them, they could just switch servers. Additional rules for PvPvE cross-play in the same environment create too many circumstances for abuse. Players should have to select a PvE or PvP preference BEFORE logging in, and be locked into that engagement format until they relog. THAT would prevent people from rapidly switching PvPvE status and griefing players with wild abandon.

  17. Hi cowpokes, how you all doing? It's a great game isn't it? I've been gaming since the 80s, first using a Spectrum 48k which was both lovable and a bit rubbish and since then I've been waiting for a decent game set in the Wild West to appear and at long last it's here. I somehow missed out on the first Red Dead, probably cos I was mainly a PC gamer except when playing Tiger Woods golf round a friends. So many drunken hours spent golfing. Ah, happy days. Quick disclosure; despite my name and my PS4 RDR2 character, MaryDoubleYou, I'm a bloke. It became a tradition for me to play as a woman after oh-so many hours playing in-game as a male. I think it was Dragon Age that caused the change. All of a sudden I could wear armour that didn't have spikes poking out everywhere and the voice acting seemed a bit better and after that I was hooked. Anyway, the online version, despite a few glitches, is brilliant isn't it! This is the first game that's compelled me to buy the online component and it's a whole new world of fun, if a little daunting at first. And this is my first time on a gaming forum, so hello once again. I'm well looking forward to posse-ing up once the game starts proper. There seems to be little reason to posse up at the moment so I'm basically doing what a lot of us are doing and making money and souping up my weapons, saving up for a decent horse. Well, I've rambled on long enough. Nice to meet you all. LET'S RIDE!!!

  18. It should just be a toggle for players on what they want to see, otherwise there was no point to names.

  19. For me it's tougher cause I am still having issues where I have to unload to kill with a headshot. Where as my opponents' are just taking one headshot to kill me. Now to top it off as you stated, players are getting better at the game. You also have the glitch users, cheaters, and the P2W with the Gold Cards. It would be even harder and the real griefing can start.

  20. Yeah, I don't know how but somehow I managed to get my first and so far only MVP while playing Hostile Territory. I had something like 2 kills, 4 deaths. I spent the majority of the match hunkered down inside one of the territories my team controlled in order to guard it from capture from the rival teams. I was stunned when I was revealed to be MVP.

  22. I don't know. I finished in the top 5 in Most Wanted the other day and I'm just an average player. I was very proud of that. I don't need to win, I just want to have a respectable performance with preferably more kills than deaths. Win or lose, PVP is an excellent source of money and XP. That's the only reason I do it.

  26. Rockstar are not saying which sounds dodgy. They have not added anything during this beta period. What I suspect is they just wanted to observe player behaviour gauge what they could get away with and our tolerance for microtransactions. Now we have the store available selling this fools gold. Yeah keep that pause button on mate for a long time.

  29. I have played the original RDR story and online. I have played through RDR2 single player twice now with close to 95% completion 2nd time through. It's great. A fantastic experience. However for RD Online. The first fews hours were fun. I am rank 44 that is a ton of hours of grinding. I am disappointed with the content. The online game is empty and the missions repetitive. RD Online has embraced GTA online's greed. With the emphasis on microtransactions. Rockstar have promised all these features next year for RD Online, but I think we are been conned.

  31. Thanks for the replies guys. If I had some doubts before, I think I have a little more now...lol... well.... unfortunately I'm not the kind of person that does stories twice. Know there are people that go on for months or years re-playing same stories many times. I don't understand but respect very much their way to enjoy. Great, just not for me. So, story is beautiful, a few things I'll have to checkout YT to find things around...not too shabby, but at the end I think it will be over. Or maybe I just need a little rest. Play something else and then come back to it. Maybe I just have to alternate games. Sorry if I stressed you, but thanks for the comments. That's what the community is hear for. RDR2.org go ! Ciao

  32. I think they should have been more clear on smaller aspects of the game like this. It seems like a lot of people are having trouble finding things online. I too didn't know about this for the first few weeks!

  35. It has nothing to do with being too serious but everything to do with wanting to enjoy the game as well. IMO, it's not fun (or worth it) to lose a horse full of pelts or get tied up and dragged around, etc. simply for someone else's amusement. The fact is, there are no repercussions at the moment for griefers as I believe there should be. ......and no, I'm not being too harsh. The whole purpose of someone killing you while you're minding your own business is to cause them grief. .....hence the name. Either way I could care less if griefers feel offended by the term or if some folks think we are being too serious because in the end R* has recognized that one of their top complaints is regarding this problem and will be doing something about it after the holidays. Hell, even they recognize and use the term griefers/griefing.

  37. Is the Switch x86 architecture? The ability to stream it may be the only way, but that kind of tech is a few years off. I think Microsoft is in the demo'ing stage of streaming AC Odyssey with their Azure servers. It's not yet perfect. In terms of the bigger picture, streaming may be Nintendo's only way of surviving going forward, because when you think of it, the Switch is basically a home console that you can play as a portable handheld. Game streaming, however, will provide that convenience on any mobile device. And on another note, I'd love to play some Mario Odyssey, but I have no need for a Switch. Nintendo should start thinking about their IP, rather than their hardware. If Nintendo created their own digital store for other platforms, they'd actually get me to purchase some of their games. Anywho, I digress.

  41. Windows started with 3.1, but we resisted until 95 came out and the games no longer support line input. My first PC was an 8088 a friend gave to me and told me to figure out how it worked, and see If i could get it going. I did. Did not play a game until Lisa came out, it was short lived and Earth Orbiter a totally line draw game went form the Lisa right to an APPLE II. I Admined a Novel network for a few years, the server was a smoking hot 386, DOS 3.5-6.2, and Nodes all the way to a Intel 90. On my wall is a new U.S. Robotics K2 56k mouse pad that is filled jell, and like K2s floating about inside as you pushed the PS2 mouse across , now we are high tech 🙂 The funny part is that all this stuff is in a museum, the onlky thing missing is US.

  45. Shooting 1st is never the best option. This might just make someone who was just passing by, become your worst enemy for the rest of the session. And usually, good pvp players won't shoot 1st. If someone is riding at you with no weapons drawn. Play it cool. If someone is riding at you with weapons drawn but relaxed. Play it cool or draw yours and relax. If someone is riding toward you with weapons drawn and ready. Then shoot 1st. On foot with no weapons drawn.. relax. On foot with weapons drawn, relaxed or not. Probably better to shoot 1st. Always watch you back, (Spin the camera if the pass by) Because some are snakes in the grass and will shoot you in the back. Also.. try talking to them. IMO people should force themselves to play PVP modes as much as they can. And focus on dying as least as possible but still getting kills. This helps take the edge off in free roam encounters.

  46. It does if the sheeple throw money at it, even in this beta state, with no regard as to when RDO goes "gold" or "live". Plenty of folks with no concern about tossing money at the game will have zero qualms about buying gold now, despite the lack of definitive, declarative statements about progress being maintained. Personally, they won't see a dime from me. The current game isn't a finished product, and as such, I am unable to make an informed decision as to how to spend my money, and whether or not I"ll choose to continue to play RDO. It's close, but not where it needs to be to hold my interest. Investing now by purchasing gold is a fool's errand, imo: without knowing how things will end up when the final product is rolled out, I can't be assured my investment will be worth the effort. If I buy gold now to dress my character in the most resplendent finery from the local haberdashery, only to find RDO to be a lawless frontier littered with flying locomotives, and bored trust fund babies outfit with the latest and greatest items, then I'll never feel the urge to play online just to be griefed/trolled into oblivion, no matter how well I rock those overalls.

  48. THANK YOU! At least there are a few people who realize that this is unacceptable and yes, false advertising and lying from Rockstar. There's no way they didn't know what they were doing when they released this game. Their silence since the news broke supports that. The way that many idiots have reacted is why I hate "gamers" so much. The defense of Rockstar and the whole "hdr is fine on my tv, stop complaining and just accept things, derp" is just the type of fanboy mentality I'm talking about. These people are incredibly immature and are everywhere! I think it's one of the reasons company's are allowed to get away with so damn much bad business practices. If you've been reading comments than you've probably seen this too many times. People sticking to their ignorance even after Digital Foundry and Hdtv Test.com wrote excellent articles explaining and proving the HDR issue. I saw someone in this thread say that while he doesn't care about hdr since he doesnt have a 4k tv or a Pro, that he can at least understand why people are upset. It's crazy that mature thinking peoole like you are ...non existant among gamers! Anyway, they're probably never fixing it as they've ignored it this long. It's clear the engine is too old for hdr or they just didnt build it with hdr in mind. Also, with most gamers not caring it will never cause them enough of a problem. Still, i suggest emailing a complaint to Rockstar support. They deserve to be called out. (end rant)
