Just because one gang may be honorable doesn't mean they all are. Look at the O'Driscolls, the Skinners, the Murphree brood. Not everyone is gonna be a good villain. Again, griefing is all down to perspective. Where as I feel I've only been griefed a handful of times, you and many others consider everything short of looking in your general direction as griefing. I've been randomly killed many times for no reason, griefing? Nope. Just part of the game. It's when they go out of their way to follow you around and across sessions is when I consider it griefing.4 points
-
Where are those griefers ppl talk about??? For me its Sasquatch of some kind i cant find it ! I play almost every day since feb. Sure there are some ppl sticking a knife in Your neck from time to time while afking ar selling in town but its normal. Dont expect to roam in the wild and nothing happening to You from other players. Expect to happen, anticipate, be ready. The game is about killing. Killing other players and killing animals.4 points

By being a selfish jackass and camping near the enemy's spawn location so you can easily pick them off as they spawn in. All those players care about is boosting their own personal kill count and not actively trying help their team complete game objectives.3 points

They do!!! But the crows are the main griefers!!! Keep eating all my corn! Not fair!3 points

Finally! A proper wild west brothel gets added to.. Ooh.. You meant farm work. Damn.. had my hopes up for a second.3 points

Sadly it is looking that way. Next update will allow you to trade your guns in for hoes, shovels, plows, etc.3 points

So you basically don't want to have to look out for yourself? I mean God forbid that you have to plan a route to the butcher or whatever. I've only ever been killed twice at the butcher because I'm not dumb enough to just run straight in expecting people to be nice and honorable. It's the wild West, even they were wary back then. Rockstar effectively created that feeling.3 points
-
Honestly !!! Do you really want to ride around in the WILD West with no chance of hostility?? You wanna run stranger missions without being attacked?? Snoozer !!! Most play the game for for run ins with bandits. Its a fricken outlaw game ! I understand when your outgunned that will happen but please don't turn this in to farm all 20193 points

It really boils down to what people define as "griefing". Most people are softies and any shooting they don't "consent" to is considered griefing to them. Hell I got reported the other day for interrupting some posse's mission. They felt that because of my rank that I was griefing them (I'm 181 and they were in the 40s-50s, 3-4 of them). When you got people like that, it's hard to pinpoint what's actually going on because everyone's perspectives is vastly different.3 points

You obviously havent seen or met a "toxic community" - trust me. Yes You paid money for the game but mainly for the story mode - its not that You are paying monthly to play the online mode. If you get killed by some camper just change server - its that simple. There are spawn campers in every game - even when there is a mechanic for spawns to be safe they wait a little bit away from the spawn point and still get You when you leave the safe spot. Its naturall in games like that for players that played for some time and grinded the lvls and cash to get better items/ammo. You want them too? work for them. I dont understand Your logic here im sorry. For the cores - You really dont need them to be full at all times. I havent eaten any food for 2nd week now bcoz i want to be underweight. When your cores are red just sit down for w while they will go white again or max em out in camp fire. About the D/C's - I know that You dont want to hear that but YES IT'S STILL A BETA and things like that can happen. (Had no problems for some time now until yesterday - was DC'ed a couple of times) Seems like You are frustrated with the game. Send You feedback to R*. If You dont like it stop playing it.3 points

All I can say is WOW.......... This game was well worth the wait, hard to believe that it was almost a year when Rockstar announced that the release date would be delayed till October 2018, just as well they did, what a grand job the staff at Rockstar have done with this game. There was so much to do, I couldn't complete all the challenges, I couldn't find all the dinosaur bones, Dreamcatchers, rock carvings and so on, there was just too much to do and I was desperate to complete the story mode to find out what happens. I think it would be safe to say that we all gasped in awe when we saw the graphics, the fine attention to detail of how a river foams when flowing from a waterfall, the sounds of the birds twittering, the gentle rustle of leaves as the wind blows, I, when not in the mood for missions, would simply take my horse to Roanoke Valley and do a wee spot of fishing, the sounds of the waterfall was so soothing to the soul, it's really weird at how RDR2 was able to do this to me, distract me from the game play and put me in the mood for either fishing or hunting. The only gripe I had with this game, it sometimes was glitchy, and buggy, I have mentioned here in the forum how I wasn't able to get a boat in Lakay when trying to get a Legendary fish and you guys in this form were brilliant in assisting me in this game buy saying, I didn't need a boat to catch the Legendary Gar but instead, go to the exact spot shown on a map, you guys were another reason why this game was so enjoyable to play, not once, when people asked for help, did any of you treat us like a pure diddy, you took the time to answer and offer suggestions on how to solve the problem, so I thank you all for that. I will be replaying this game, this time, I want to become the most feared outlaw in all 5 states, I finished as a saint, next time, I want to be the son of a gun from Hell. One last thing- Spolier Alert, I can't believe how "emotional" I got when I bid farewell to my faithful Warhorse, she was called Kanto and she stuck by me through the thick and think and I had a wee lump in my throat at that moment, it took me by surprise which was another remarkable achievement by the creators of this game. Now I am riding off to the sunset singing the song "Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi2 points

RIA has good reviews, i like the grips, really like the grips. was looking last night to see if i can get similar for my taurus G2c lol Unless i drive a couple hours to the "city" here we're stuck with what the local FFL can order, that's one reason i've been getting Taurus, he gets a great deal on them, and since we use him to order all the guns for our banquets (usually 14 give or take) he cuts me and the other committee members a good price. You're mention of the M1A reminded me of the .303 British. I bought a damaged .303 British from a pawn shop for my father after i blew his .303 up with a reloaded round. The .303 has a shoulder gap issue with 90% of the rounds you buy, if you reload, like we do, after the first shot the brass has a high possibility of separating just above the rim, at the bottom of the powder chamber as there's a couple millimeters of space between the shoulder and the barrel. When this happened while i was shooting the rifle it blew the firing pin back into my cheek, I had an imprint of it for a week or so. So I bought a "parts gun" for dad to use to fix his. Stock on the parts gun i got was cracked, pawn shop sold it to me for dirt cheap. Dad used the parts from it to fix his rifle, then went online and found the parts needed to fix up the "parts gun". he gave me the "parts gun" after he fixed both rifles, it's still at my parents house. Totally forgot about that one on my list. I've never been a big fan of the M1A, i do love the M1 carbine though, that's my next rifle2 points

Farming Simulator 19. I don't think the weeds in your fields count as griefers?2 points

The 1st thing that happens in RD O is starting you off as a prisoner who gets freed to help kill people... An outlaw and gunslinger. So for R* to say anything that contradicts their own game is kind of funny.. If the game started off with people on a farm, milking cows.. Then they might have had a point. But that's it ^2 points

If I run a stranger mission, I would consider that a "mutual combat' situation. Any problems I encounter when I do that are my problem. You griefing me when I'm spawning in, fishing or running to the butcher with an animal over my shoulder isn't a mutual combat situation.2 points

It is normal when it comes to Red Dead. Just look at single player campaign. Theres tons of ambushes that happen from NPC gangs. In online, the players fill that role.2 points

Pretty simple , take cover , SHOOT BACK ! Posse up and as James said be prepared and watch ur mini map ! Easy breezy2 points

There are certainly some issues with the game but I don't think its as bad as you make out. You may have just been a bit unlucky with sessions you've joined as, while I've had my run-ins with idiots, I don't feel griefers have made the game unplayable for me. Also, I agree with James, I think I'd struggle to find anyone who didn't feel they'd got their value for money from the story mode, the online is a bonus. I'm more and more thinking that R* need to implement 2 free-roam option modes. The first is like a passive lobby, or "Westworld" mode I like to call it, where you can auto-aim and kill NPCs but you can't inflict any damage on other players. The other is free-aim altogether or free-aim for pvp and auto-aim only allowed on NPCs. Perhaps the spring update will bring this about anyway in some acceptable form, we'll have to wait and see.2 points

Red Dead Redemption 2 Online Is extremely broken in so many ways. From the toxic community that stabs and shoots you in the back for no reason, losing all your hunting pelts and other materials because of players shooting you or you disconnecting, dying and having all your cores back down after having just used $15 worth of food items, the large amount of players level 300 (figure of speech) having unlocked extremely over powered ammo that is able to over power any new player, and finally the worst thing, spawning, getting locked on and killed instantly. If Rockstar is so desperate to have an auto aim system, at Least make it so that players don't instantly die after walking five feet from spawning from some guy that sits on their ass all day long. It's just so Unskilled to be able to so all this. They not only have auto aim, they also have bloom. A very annoying system that makes no sense. There are just so many things wrong with this game. I know it's a beta, but you as a developer need to get this stuff fixed. It's annoying a lot of players I can see that all over the Internet and it's really stupid. I paid $80 for this game and I expect it to be functioning properly and in a good state. P.S. If you as a reader disagrees, let's have a civilized conversation with out saying "your bad at the game" (since you really can't be) or "its just a beta".1 point

Rockstar put a lot of creepy things in RDR2, but the mission strand with Marko Dragic and his robot was just downright disturbing. Finding it sitting up there on the mountain muttering "Papa" over and over again was nothing short of terrifying. 😱1 point

Nice! Those super match rifles aren't cheap. My nephew bought a Scout before I did. .....the little punk. He promised to take me shooting with it though. Had the chance to buy a Garand many years ago for cheap. .....not hard to find back then. I should have just made the purchase but we all know how that goes.1 point

As for me, I've got a 24" Super Match M1A. I really love it. It can drive nails for you at 300 yards with irons if you've got some patience. 😁 Also have an M1 Carbine (we had trouble dating it) and a Korean War era Garand that's just loads of fun to shoot. All are really good rifles (well, not the Carbine, that's not a rifle hehe...). I have always loved those old Walnut-clad firearms. My main beef with them is that they are a little on the weighty side, but that's not a big problem... They all work well and I haven't had any major difficulties with them throughout the time I have owned them 😉1 point

Hi @Ghostreaper240 and welcome to the site. After reading your post I noticed you seem to be referring to us when you say "you". Please note that RDR2.org is a fan site and not and official forum of R* or 2K. However, R* does have a website they specifically created so people could provide feedback on the Red Dead Online Beta. Below is a link: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892 Obviously, you're welcome to discuss these topics here and we encourage you to do so. .....but I just wanted to let you know in case you thought your comments here would automatically be viewed by a R* / 2K rep.1 point

Agreed! it took me 4 months playing 3 or 4 hours a day on average, to get to chapter 6. by that time i had everything done that could be done without exploiting the game to get Arthur to New Austin. I don't play for exploits or cheats, I find no fun in them. When i was finished with everything extra i rushed through the last few missions left in chapter 6 to see the end of the story line and get into the epilogue to finish the few extras there. I loved the graphics, the scenery, that was my favorite part, exploring and hunting and enjoying how much time they spent on the graphics. I'll 2nd that!1 point

I would have to disagree with the statement "All players are only one of those..." Most of us are cowboys. Whether or not we decide to be outlaws or gunslingers per R* definition is to determined. This cowboy generally runs as a gunslinger but if crossed the outlaw comes right out.1 point

NPCS barely ambush in online compared to single player. Theres only a few areas where they do online. And online has nothing to do with Dutch.. Even tho Dutch is full of sh*t.1 point
-
Nope, if you remember npc's still do ambushes in online, the gang all through the story says things like, we dont steal from regular folk, hard working normal folk, and they are thieves with honor, they steal from people like Leviticus Cornwall not joe shmoe, Charles and Arthur especially had a lot of honor when it came to farmers, ranchers, etc.. There is no reason to EVER sneak up on a guy fishing and kill them, none, its not honorable, its not necessary, it gives the killer nothing for it, no reason to do it other than to ruin someone elses time, go ambush npc's if you must, or go to pvp where everyone expects a gun fight, if you are one of the people who are an opportunist, and you just shoot at anyone that you happen to come across then you are part of the problem, you are trying to force others to play with you, to play the way you want too and not letting them play the way they want too, that is the behavior of a spoiled kid acting like a brat, bwahh I want it my way and now im going to shoot you in the back just because I like that yay me!! its poor behavior. There are so many examples in the story mode where the characters make it clear they dont ambush regular people, good people people they dont know for no reason are off limits1 point
-
I disagre with You. Online mode generally is NOT a PvE gameplay its PvP - Player versus player. Getting killed by other players is normal in pvp games and beeing killed while skinning or fishing is NOT GRIEFING, its just part of the game. There is nothing stopping You form doing those activities that You mentioned all You have to do is take care of yourself. Personally i would be against pve lobbies and would rather see some kind of karma system. I remind You that there is still story mode where You can hunt and do whatever You want uninterrupted by other players. I consider it the PVE mode.1 point
-
See that attitude leads to griefing, you said you dont see griefing then you said "Sure there are some ppl sticking a knife in Your neck from time to time while afking ar selling in town but its normal" No, thats not normal, free roam is a place to explore, role play, level up, get your tonics, crafting materials and meats, etc.. play stranger missions, replay story missions, etc.. even posse up and go find other posses that want to fight and have gun fights, sure, but seeing a player not bothering anyone, and going out of your way to shoot them when they arent looking , or sneaking up on them while they fish to kill them is not part of the game, or just how it is, its a choice, and the whole reason we are getting a hostility system. People can have all the fun they want, but as soon as their fun is ruining other peoples time online and it isnt fun for all parties then it is txic and not fun for the player getting needlessly killed. Its a matter of treat people the way you want to be treated, problem is too many people are bored and they actually want confrontation, while other players are newer and do not, they just want to hunt, fish, level up, play missions, etc.. so they can get equipped for the real reason to play this game, the pvp as it gets going more and more, if your playing is upsetting people and costing them time and money by taking their carcasses via shooting them and their horse then its not the way it is supposed to be. Sure there is something to say about the dangers of being out there alone, but at the same time if you cant go to ANY butcher because people are just hanging around them looking for unsuspecting players then the game starts to just suck, only the people doing the ambushing are having any fun, everyone else gets frustrated or just quits, people are literally being chased off the servers and out of the game over it, so whatever your opinion might be, when your behavior impacts someone else in a negative way its not cool. Thankfully by mid June I believe we will have the fully implemented hostility system that should all but eliminate this, some people will always chose to play aggressively and so you will have people to kill and ambush, others will chose to play passively and they will be able to go to the butcher without any anxiety over losing their pelts and carcasses. It is when you see a person coming, you tell them in your mic, hey Im just trying to get to the butcher, can I get in here please? and they act like "sure go ahead" then as you turn your back they shoot you and then run into a mission or another session, these are maybe the most frustrating, and a good example of what we really dont want, I know some players welcome it, now they have something to do and I can totally appreciate that, why cant others appreciate that some went to be left alone and your not a better player because you chose to shoot them in the back and then call in 2 friends to try and spawn kill them for the next 15 minutes, its just lame and sad behavior. I think its great that R* decided to handle it this way so everyone can find a happy medium, if in fact they do implement it this way. Stating an opinion about it one way or the other makes no difference at this point, other than to say things are changing and hopefully for the better.1 point
-
I figured out that as well bcoz really i havent seen any real griefing in game since i started. I played Lineage 2 (Korean hardcore MMORPG for PC) for a lot of years and when You got on some clan/ally/party KOS list (kill on sight) there were ppl waiting for You everywhere in the world and killing you constantly over and over again making Your gameplay impossible. They would have PK chars (karma chars for killing only) logged off on multiple locations ready to go when needed and watchers (dead characters logged in on multiaccounts so You can scan most popular areas on 2nd monitor). In more severe cases Your account would be hacked by some russian Mr. Robot and all Your items stolen along with Your character being delvled. This is what I consider "griefing". But as You said it's hard to pinpoint what's actually going on because everyone's perspectives is vastly different.1 point
-
After reading Your post i wanted to check if its there and i found it in 5 secs on google. You can buy those cheats from web sites. Dont know if its legit or just a money scam but R* should really look into this.1 point

Too bad OP rushed through the Story mode, you only get one 1st play thru, and completing the challenges, side missions, and just roaming the world is by far the best part of the game. Everybody acknowledges the fantastic graphics but few seem to want to get lost in it, choosing rather to focus on repetitive missions, extended cut scenes, and a nonsensical story narrative. It took Bill several visits every time to drag me back to the main story. Maybe that's why so few are actually finishing the story. It might actually have been a better game without the main storyline. No beginning, no end and no Guarma!1 point

Their last announcement of a schedule was for four weeks which ended on 4/9. The big Spring Update was announced for release in Spring. There have been no changes to that plan as of today. .....so, folks can still expect the update to hit sometime this Spring which ends in June on their calendar. Personally, I never assumed RDO would be anything more than a beta rather than a full release and while I perhaps expected more content to roll out by this time, I never knew for sure that it would. We can only go by what we know. I will say that I did prepare for the possibility that RDO might take a while to get off the ground and that I might need to shelve it from time to time while things got rolling. .....which I already did about a month or more ago. I haven't logged in since and been playing another game in the meantime. However, that doesn't mean I've given up on the game as I will most certainly be returning again and yeah, maybe even taking a break at some point and then returning and so on.... Unless something really gets screwed up (which I doubt because so far, I like the direction they are going), I'm in it for the long haul myself.1 point

I started out fishing, I caught over 4,000 fish, I will help you out with some tips and techniques in a bit, when I can get back on in a little while. So the basics have been covered, get your pole, go to a spot and cast out, Now, a few things you should know. Use dead eye to see where the fish you want to catch are. Any lure will work in all bodies of water When you see for example large mouth bass, but also pickerel, blue gills, bull headds, etc.. you want to use your lure to avoid catching the smaller fish, unless of course that is what you want, but if you focus on the larger more expensive fish, ie: Bass, Trout, Salmon, which pay around $2.00 or more each, compared to the smaller fish that pay around $1 each or so. Also, once you feel the fish bite, on xbox press R trigger to set the hook, then left stick down to keep your tip up, also, when you feel the fish fighting, dont reel in,once they stop, reel and every few seconds flick your left stick down to pull up on the rod to bring the fish closer to you, and when the fish starts fighting again, especially in the landing sequence, DO NOT REEL, or you will lose your lure, it stinks to lose one, so just dont reel when they fight. Also, you have no minimap while fishing, do yourself a favor, after each time you catch and hold up a fish and it says press (a on xbox) to put it in your satchel, use that few seconds after pressing A to check your map, it doesnt happen everytime but people sometimes do walk up behind you and it never ends well, so....just check your map IMO. Lets see what else, ok, West of Valentine in the Dakota river are pike, they pay the most, $7.50 I think, you can steal a cart from an npc and bringit with you, back it upto aq rock and load it up I had 6 in mine and one on my horse last time I did that. Shady belle, to the south along the water there is a spot where you can catch both small and large mouth bass, plus gators, and birds, and then about 1 minute down the coast away from Shady belle towards catfish jacksons, you can also catch 10 steel head trout, so if you do the loop, it is about $75.00 each time and that is fish only, you will also get a few turkey, a few boar, deer, gators, birds, possums, racoons, etc.. so it can easily be 150$ trip and it doesnt take very long, just my experience anyway, I like that little loop it is close to Rhodes and whenever I need money, I will just run this loop a few times and boom $500 in no time at all, plus Shady belle is a hideout you get to clear several times a session and there is a pawn in rhodes to buy the few items you get from looting all the bodies. Same can be said of Flat rock lake, from Clemmens point to where the lake turns towards Gil's place, and same deal 3 fish plus lake sturgeon, deer boars, etc.., and lastly back near Valentine south of the pike area, just exactly south of cumberland falls, there is a nice spot where you can grab 10 sockeye salmon quickly, they pay well and it is a quick trip to Valentine, so those are my tips, things to look out for and things to try for yourself, good luck to you.1 point

It's not whether the animal baits work or not, it's why bother with them at all. In the single player version the legendary animals are already located and you only have to follow the tracks, in the the online Beta there usually is a 3 star pelt in the herd or just around the corner/hill. It takes time to attract prey, time that can be better spent by simply moving on to another more productive area.1 point

Awesome..! And I echo your thoughts as well. So now you just have the 100% game completion to chase down. Oh, and I used a stolen Pinkerton horse for the last part of Chapter 6. Still, it's really sad watching a horse die.1 point

I don't remember the amount, but I do remember what I did, I was in cinematic mode and the Idiot Magnet on my horse turned on, I auto ran into another guy that was sight-seeing in the middle of the road in Valentine, I was charged with assault he was charged with dynamite to the chest, trying to take care of the lonely witness one thing leads to another and at the end I was shooting an elderly woman when I tried to take cover at the Inn... I was feeling like I was on the Mad Max movie, my character was shooting everything while yelling "WITNESS THIS!" to the town.1 point
