  1. This has been awful for a while now but does suddenly seem a bit better this week, post-update (although I might just have been lucky). As a trader it hasn't been easy. I have had to go through the same routine detailed in @James Hickok_1837's excellent post earlier in this thread.

  2. Submitted a ticket to Rockstar about this... The bad news is only one out of every five or six times that I submit a ticket they actually reply, they usually just close the ticket without a reply. Great work Rockstar! The good news is I got I reply when I submitted a ticket about this... They just said that they were aware of the issue and working on it. Instead of focusing on masks and the horse balls shrinking in the cold and the horse defacating, maybe they should focus on important things like camps. Pretty hard to get the daily challenges done when you can't get a camp. Usually an hour or two after spawning in to the session that I can get a camp.

  3. I did that DX12 thing and there was a noticeable drop in freezing occurrences, but they still happen although few and far between.

  6. You can fast travel at any level. The price depends on how far you have to go. Example, if you're going from Gaptooth to Saint Denis (across the whole map) it will be over $10 dollars. If you're only going from Gaptooth to Blackwater (half the map) it will be around 5 or more & if you going from Blackwater to Strawberry or the next town over it will be a few dollars. To buy the fast travel for your camp, you have to be a certain rank. Think you unlock the fast travel at your cam in the 60's rank. Instead of traveling to your camp you can try to move & pitch your camp closer to you, in the same area you are in. You can bring up your quick menu / select camp / select set camp location / then select the area you are in. Example if you are in Blackwater you can pitch a camp in Great Plains or Tall Trees. Sorry not sure what button it is for pc to access the quick menu.

  8. This is aimed at people who can't get the game to run on windows 10 pc. 1. If you already tried everything from the internet including what Rockstarhas put out for a fix for this like I did and still can't get RDR2 to run than you need to try this, as I did it my self and it worked for me after countless hours trying to get the game to run. 2. If you already have the social club and the game launcher installed you need to uninstall both of them (not the game it's self). If you have something like ccleaner then run it and clear your invalid registry entries. 3. Go to windows update and check for any updates and update all!., next update your graphics driver to the latest one AMD or Nvidia. 4. Reboot your system and disable your antivirus software or if you don't have one and are just using the built in windows security then you need to disable real time scanning in your windows security. 4. Launch the game ( in my case using Epic game launcher) the game will reinstall Rockstar social club and the Rockstar game luncher. 5. That should fix the game launching issue.

  9. Just a couple of koi fish. I have a koi pond in my backyard so I am fairly obsessed with the creatures. I believe I have 13 koi now. Also goes with the username. I just made it more in relevance of internet humor using two i's instead of spelling it correctly.

  10. Thanks @Volt for your contributions these past couple days since the PC launch to try and help people with their various issues as R* works through these teething problems. I'm certain those in the community it helps sure appreciate it as do I.

  11. To Feed Horse - Get on the horse Hold Tab press R to go to horse inventory. Hover over the carrot or press e - q to scroll through more food. Where to find horse food - Stables have them under provisions and if u use dead eye in the game you will be able to spot out herbs and food for the hose you can pick Not sure about the disarm greet Not sure about emotes Anything you buy from the catalog gets mailed your camp. There is a small blue box it hold all the items you order and its instant. make sure to buy the horse brush to keep up with the horse If you want to change clothes or weapons you must mount the horse and hold TAB press R to see the different menus. If you accept you will be in a group with them and share all their points what ever they do.

  12. I had a little trouble with the Keyboard Configuration in Settings for the game. Using the mouse to select something, to change it, was inconsistent. Sometimes it worked, and sometimes it did not with making the change. Weird, huh? But then I figured it out! Here is my example. I wanted to configure the default key for Push to Talk fron the 'N' key to my mouse 4 button (the one closest to my thumb). I used the Arrow keys to scroll down and select that box for 'N'. It looks like there are 2 boxes. So I think you can assign 2 keys/buttons to it. I used the ENTER key to select that box with the 'N'. The highlight changed slightly to indicate it was ready to receive my new choice. I hit MB # 4. It took the selection. I think you then have to hit the key at the bottom right to confirm you change, so it takes. Note: If later decide to reset things to they're default values, then I think it does that for everything in you settings. If you try to assign it a key/button already in use, it will give you a warning about that. I think it will get rid of the old choice, and now use your new choice. Also, using the arrow keys now allows me to adjust gradually the Graphics setting for (Performance/Balanced/Quality) slider. Using the mouse didn't work.

  13. I uh...............am not sure how to respond to that bc it has nothing to do with what I was asking. Also screw your multiplayer. You and people like you are killing singleplayer games by incentivizing companies to pump out endless low effort MP content instead of giving us content that can be enjoyed at our own pace that has been carefully handcrafted by talented developers. Rockstar used to be one of the absolute best developers out there before people like you ruined it for everyone. Multiplayer is fine. Dumping endless amounts of money into it causing MP to become the sole focus is not. I know its off topic but I've been furious about the rise of multiplayer at the expense of excellent singleplayer especially with rockstar that I can't help it. I'd do almost ANYTHING to get expansions for Red Dead 2. Especially since I've always enjoyed RD infinitely more than GTA. Probably will try that sometime. I really shouldn't have to, you know? That kind of information should definitely be out there. Hopefully since it will work on consoles offline the same goes for pc.

  14. You're welcome! I believe the White Arabian has slightly lower stats than the Black Arabian, just like it is in single player, but I've spent a lot of time with both horses, and you don't really notice the difference much in RDO. Temperament-wise they're both pretty much the same as well. And, as I mentioned before, the trick to not have the Arabian chase off into the distance once you dismount near an alligator or something is to a) try to shoot all alligators in sight - lol - and b) whistle immediately when you dismount so that, even if he runs, he comes right back and c) calm him IMMEDIATELY when you see wolves or cougars - before you even draw your gun, calm the horse and he won't buck you (he WILL buck you if you let the predators come too close, of course, but then, so does the Turkoman, there's really not much of a difference here in my experience). Have fun with your new horse buddy, and let me know how it goes!

  15. I've had pretty good luck setting up my camp through the wheel instead of the left on the D pad way. Give it a try.

  16. Yep, in my experience they come back in a little while. Never timed it, because I don't tend to redo them in the same session, ever, but their definitely always back by the next day.

  17. Hey partner ! There are indeed problems with the camp not beeing set or beeing packed by cripps without a reason. I have to say that after this weeks update the camp situation is better than it was but problems still occure. The best way to check where;s your camp is simply looking at the map zoomed out or getting to a fast travel point in any town. If the camp is set there will be an option to go to it (it wont be greyed out) - it will be on the bottom of the list of possible locations to go to. If you cant go to your camp it means that it is not set. You found out how to set up a camp. Now notice that some locations that you want to set the camp in will be highly populated and a lot of campsites will be placed there already. In this case there will be problem to set the camp simply bcoz there is no room for it. TZhose locations will be for example The Hearlands, bayu nwa. Cumberland forest. I would suggest setting the camp in less popular area (you can always fast travel to the hunting ground you want and return with goods to your camp. The pelts and carcasses will not deteriorate via fast trvel like it did in the past. When camp still refuses to set i simply change location via fast travel to a distant zone ant try setting up again. If still doesnt work i hard reset the game and repeat the process. Sometimes its a pain and takes many tries but as i mentioned above since last update its better. Hope this will help in some way.

  19. Like @SimonTemplar I never got into online gaming until about 14 months ago. My grandsons got a PS4 Pro and I decided to get one to play online with them AND help their mother screen game titles for the boys to play. I got hooked on the very idea of Red Dead Redemption 2 before it launched when checking out games for the boys. I have been playing (almost 100% solo) since launch and enjoy it tremendously! The new roles have pumped new life in the game for me so I play a bit more now since they launched. I'm 65yo so I can attest to the fact old guys can get lots of enjoyment from this great online experience either solo or with friends. Hmmmm ... can anyone beat 65yo ... or am I the oldest one here? šŸ˜Ž

  20. I was using the default settings and I was getting really bad intermittent freezing. This was at the beginning of the game during the intros. And during the first time you get to control yourself on horseback while following Dutch through the snow. So much so as the game was unplayable. And quit out of the game. But I found a fix! Taken from the link below. I changed my API from Vulcan to DX12. No more intermittent freezing! CHANGE API I am 99% sure that the freezes were happening due to the Vulkan API. There was a similar problem in the game World War Z where I would get extremely low frame rates after switching from DirectX to Vulkan. Here is how to change you API: Go Settings Click on Graphics Look for the setting that says Graphics API Change it to DirectX 12 https://frondtech.com/freezing-and-stuttering-fix-red-dead-redemption-2-rdr2/ Playing the game a little bit more I experimented switching the API back to Vulcan. To my surprise that worked fine too.

  21. Hi @NeKryXe and welcome to the forums. I would suggest watching one of the many tutorials from YT, articles, etc. In fact, I found one with a quick search that might help. Fast forward to the 29:30 mark. That is where he opens the treasure chest, gets the countdown timer and then realizes he must equip the ability card. The beginning of RDO is more of a tutorial. It is an open world game that provides you with essentially complete freedom once you get past the hand-holding parts: If this resolves your issue then please let me know. I will move this from the PC forum to the RDO forum which would be more appropriate for progression / mode questions & answers. It's been a year for me since I started out so I don;t have your answer myself. I have to rely on these tutorials and past posts / threads for answers.

  22. Can I just say that this is ONE NICE CONTROLLER ... bought it for my laptop to play RDR2 later today when it releases and I have to say after doing some tests with it .. I might actually use this for my PS4 as well. Really comfortable and they really spared no expense on the packaging. Comes with an excellent protective case. I may have to buy another one ... LOL

  25. Hey guys šŸ‘‹šŸ» so I’m new at this forum and searching for someone to play online. I’m actually German but since I have my english final exams soon it would really help me if someone native would speak english with me. I’m kinda not very confident about speaking english and I think this would really help. So i thought why not combine it with my greatest hobby If someone is interested I would be grateful for a respond
