SNOW is gone! - And all festive stuff has been removed.. Now, lets hope Rockstar is preparing a H-U-G-E bugfix + update, to come Tuesday! *Fingers Crossed*3 points

Nice bro ! Seems to all be tied to how many players are in that server. First thing I do when I spawn in is go left on D pad and see how many are in that server , if 20 or more you won't see any animals. If your lucky enough to get an empty one ( no players ) get that hunting wagon out quick and fill it. Turning off matchmaking in 9nline settings seems to slow down players entering that server. But yes it's quite spectacular to see all those animals running free.2 points

I logged in a couple of mornings ago and found my camp right where I left it near Big Valley. As I rode out to look for animals to hunt I was astounded by how many there were. I could barely go a couple hundred yards from camp before I would come across herds, yes really, herds, of deer (4-6 at a time) or pairs of Elk, everywhere. At one point, as I road out once again after dropping off pelts, I immediately ran into a Cougar and was lucky enough to get the drop on him before he could get the drop on me. Nice! Riding back, I see a black bear across the narrow river and begin to head his way. Suddenly, I am set upon by 4 wolves, seemingly spawned in out of nowhere. I dispatch them quickly enough and see the black bear beginning to make a hasty exit. I fire at him and hit, he drops immediately. I am still on this side of the river from him and from behind me I hear a blood curdling ROAR. Not 5 feet from me is a big beastly Grizzly Bear and it's at this point my luck runs out. The monster gets a hold of me and I am dead in seconds. Luckily, I didn't lose the cougar. So, in one outing from camp, in a span of about, maybe, 2 minutes I ran into a Cougar, 4 wolves, a black bear and a Grizzly. It was glorious! I told my wife, "This is why I love Read Dead!" Afterward I continued to hunt for a couple more hours and made 2 or 3 full deliveries. Then, after a while, I noted the first blue blip on my radar. Then another, shortly after. Within a half hour of their arrival on my map all of the animals dried up. That was about two weeks ago or so. I haven't been able to fill one wagon since. /sigh Come on R*. This is such a great game. When it's working. Please fix it.2 points

Zoo Keeper. You get to open up a zoo where you can let visitors look at the animals that have all apparently gone extinct in free roam. You won't be able to hunt them mind you. But at least you can look back and fondly remember when there used to be animals in the world.2 points

Ignorant behavior by random people will always be part of human existence whether it is online or real life. Unfortunately for you, this was the first time it happened to you in an online game. The best thing to do, in my experience, switch servers and leave the jerks behind and make sure you report them but most of all develop a tough skin, don't take that crap seriously. You are a better person than those yahoos, you can rise above it, they feed on your pain. And, most of all, don't be afraid to ask for help. Damn, I am starting to sound like Opra. ;)2 points

Nothing will probably done by R*. Xbox or PS will punish people if you report a private msg. In game chat is harder to deal with, mostly because theres no way to prove what people have said. Not sure how it works on PC. I highly advise you and you wife to learn to ignore BS from randoms. Mute people, leave/find a new game, change chat settings. Since the type of behavior you talked about happens all the time. Theres no reason to get upset about it. Myself, and most of the friends I play with have basically become immune to it. I mean, not for nothing. But I don't take little shits on a video game talking smack seriously. Especially considering that in real life, id probably kick their asses with one hand tied behind my back. You think its bad now.. Wait till you start fighting back and they start to really get angry. Remember the people talking sh*t, are doing it to get under your skin. Your wife 'crying' and taking it seriously gives them what they wanted.2 points

Report them to both R* and your PS or XBox if you play on either of those platforms. I know they do look at these as my sons friend got banned and lost his account access to the game for repeated ill behavior. He got a warning and didn't adhere to the it. I am sorry you had such a terrible experience. I hope this doesn't deter you from continuing to play as this can be a wonderful experience. What platform do you play on?2 points

I hoped that this was going to be a thread about introducing Penny Farthing bicycles to the streets of St Denis. 😞2 points

Sorry to hear this partner ! You definitely don't want to be in open proximity chat on most online games. Children will be children , I highly recommend getting in a posse that loves these interactions. There are many posses on this sight with morals. You'll need support against some of the villain posses running in this game. Don't back down and get y'all some Honorable gunslingers that live for these fights. Hope your Mrs doesn't quit the game over this as it's not the norm. Anyway I hope things level out for y'all and give em hell !2 points

The cycle thingy has become famous among collectors cause of Jeanropke's collectibles map. Tio Loco i think the map is updated with the combinations of cycles each day. take a look here https://jeanropke.github.io/RDR2CollectorsMap/ each cycle has a different colour now and the work is still in progress. you can all contribute through his site and help establish the map once again. https://github.com/jeanropke/RDR2CollectorsMap/issues2 points

Yes, it's a shame and I love this game but I have only logged in on the past five days to get my daily challenges streak back up in case they fix it. I was at 70-odd days, level 142, and have all four professions to level 20, but now it is suddenly really glitchy. My moonshine shack gives no end of issues, and now collector's maps have not been working - the yellow search zone shows up, but there's nothing to find. Also, even Trade Route has started bugging - gives us six goods, then there are no bandits and no increase in goods. So it's just a sucky train ride for six goods, so not worth it. Has never done that to me before and I have done a lot of those. So I just do a couple of easy challenges (change a buckle, jump to a horse, eat a stew etc) and then log back out and go play Elite (on the plus side, my Anaconda now has a larger power plant given my sudden free time). RDR is my true gaming love but I just use the moonshine shack to check bugginess. If it isn't working then I just do a challenge and go play something else. I will check every day, though, as surely they will fix it soon.2 points

THIS... I hope it comes on Tuesday... But i really have no hopes.. The game is SO broken... And there is too many things to mention. The game is almost as it was in the early week of Beta.. UN_Playable. - I logged in today (Only for 30 mins) But, i rode from Valentine, to Amardillo, and i saw nothing.. really... nothing.. i shot 1 bird.. (Yep..1) , and the world was empty.. There was 23 players in the lobby, so i know THAT was an issue, but also the major one. They really need to fix this issue, as i dont want to try all the "Hacks" to get an empty lobby to hunt, i want to be able to hunt and do missions with the servers full. ofcourse they need their vacation like all of us, but if they want to keep this game a game that players want to play, they should really really put in that update asap..2 points

Don't forget you can disable game chat through the free roam menu, under the online options tab. Make it posse only, friends only, etc... I also know that reporting through Xbox ( not sure what your on) does get them banned from chat pretty quickly. Send a message telling them to leave you alone, and when they respond with hate messages, report it. They'll be banned real quick. From communications anyways. Also, play offline, and switch sessions, and they can't follow you. Xbox.2 points

I want to start off by saying how wrong they were for doing this to both of you. These are the kinds of players who do not deserve the option to play online games. I think it is important that you have all their usernames on hand and report them directly to Rockstar and go into detail with everything that has happened. I would also look into reporting them on a higher level and going through whatever you were playing on be it PC, PS, or XB.2 points

Thanks all. We play PC so not sure if steam will do something. Normally she is pretty thick skinned in this being a main FPS competitive shooter player and the trash talking wasnt as much the issue, but the actions. We turned off voice chat and only use discord and now now that you can simply exit if griefing goes above and beyond and jump into a different session (we thought we would pop right up where we left off and they would be waiting). She is getting past it but going that far can be a bit traumatizing for a girl...even in a video game. and HuDawg I agree...I could easily whip them into the next century probably..but IMO that doesnt make actions ok. Appreciate everyone's input as we are new to the online side (I never played GTA online....just the FiveM side) so we weren't sure what to expect and this was one of the first experiences we got so was not sure if this is the norm and RDR2 online is just a trolling session. appreciate it!1 point

Yes, I'd like this as well. I spent way too much time early to mid game in the single player taming crappy wild horses, bonding them, and then selling them off for 30 bucks, haha. And one of the first things I did once I opened up free roam online was tame a better horse, but then I discovered you couldn't keep it or sell it. Perhaps they could even expand it to breeding horses somehow.1 point

I need to get back into Elite, too - my interest waned once I got my Asp 100% kitted out with everything I wanted - it was my dream ship since the 80's, when you could only have your Cobra Mk.III, and getting it perfect felt like the complete journey. I switched the game on the other day and literally couldn't remember how to operate my ship. Fortunately I took one of my Imperial Eagles out, rather than the Asp, so the financial pain wasn't too bad when I stacked it into the space station shortly after launch. Having literally played nothing but RDR since the day it dropped, I have found my enthusiasm diminished since the moonshiner update. I was away for a couple of days over Christmas and lost my streak, just re-hit 7 days again, and its feeling like a chore.1 point

I've not had the Trade Route thing happen yet - though I haven't done one in a few days, I've just been doing a few dailies as well and been checking out another Frontier game (Planet Zoo) - but I had the issue with the collector's maps several times the last few weeks. Restarting the game always fixed that for me. (Possibly changing lobbies might do the trick as well, not sure about that.)1 point

All I can say is thank **** for that! My opinion of the winter conditions may have been somewhat tarnished by the other issues with the game since the moonshiner update but I really didn't like the snow in RDO. Everywhere looked much the same, visibility was appalling all the time and the world looked really bleak and uninteresting. Yesterday I spotted my health core being affected by warm weather - I was in the Bayou but there was still snow on the ground and conditions were the same as they had been when I'd had to keep cold weather gear on all the time. I checked and it was 25 degrees C!! 25 degrees and snow on the ground, not exactly realistic. As you rightly said, hopefully we can get a patch soon and get our old RDO back so that I actually want to play the game again rather than just log on to do dailies.1 point

Getting the Buck Antler Trinket helps with getting perfect pelts. It gives a small chance for pelts to be upgraded by one star when the animal is skinned or picked up.1 point

There are players like this out there And we would be better off without them... I started a Female character for my wife a while back. I was playing as her the single digit levels to put a little experience and gold bars on her... well, I don’t know what would have happened if I didn’t break free and stab the guy in the face, but some guy hogtied the Lady Liquor in the saloon when I wasn’t paying full attention and was carrying me upstairs... I found it quite weird and creepy and rapey...1 point

Well, I don’t mind it. Pretty mild compared to the usual winter where I’m from... and it’ll be over pretty soon. I wish RL winter was only a mild inconvenience for a couple weeks...1 point

Great name! Hell. On wheels? i was on ps4 and had a few knuckleheads as well. I moved to X-Box to team with my brother. After getting killed by someone with a carcano while in camp, I’ve become really defensive there.1 point

Agreed. And their hostility level needs to stay red for much much longer than it does. As it is most griefers that I run into are yellow bellies, attacking people minding their own, hunting, fishing, etc and then server jumping to not face their due. Getting shot in the back just because is kinda stupid. It’s not end of the world or anything, after all you just respawn yourself but it can be a waste of my time. That being said, anybody entering someone’s camp and being stupid gets what they deserve. If you don’t care, don’t. You want to kill them in interesting ways, go for it.1 point

A lot of folks are traveling and/or on vacations during this time. I can see how they might want to have these events for a couple weeks or so to allow everyone a chance to share in the experience.1 point

Actually exp matters to me - i want to be rank 500. And about the profit - i noticed that dead revenue agents hold some nice loot - i pick a lot of colectibles and tonics from them so more than 70-200 exp and more profitable than just driving it fast (not to mention its boring). I will say this again - i never said your method was wrong - i just pointed out mine. Dont understand why you r so agressive in your posts.1 point

In all fairness, accumulating money in this game isn't a difficult or time consuming task.1 point

I don't know what the timeframe is for reporting someone...we had a VERY horrible experience last night and nothing really came of it that we saw. We were fighting an ambush and another posse ran in...during the fray I accidentally shot one of their posse...They then proceeded to continually kill us over and over...we parlayed...they followed us for 10 minutes till the parlay ended..they then proceeded to hogtie my wife (who is female in game as well as real life obviously)...taunt her...tea bag her till she was in tears asking to stop and they stabbed her over and over with sexual, racial, and shaming slurs telling her to kill herself in real life....we attempted multiple reports and nothing happened... we are new to the online part of the game so we didnt realize till later that you can exit and you will likely re-enter in a different session where they are not active. My wife is horribly shaken and traumatized by their actions and verbal assaults. Does rockstar look at any of this? or is it a moot point? Thanks in advance0 points
