  1. As an Easter egg, yeah....... Then again, I can see the next request would be those who want it to be in the game. I'd be ok without that idea being planted in some players heads.
  2. Forgot to mention that I did respawn manually once trying to see if that would help get a side mission to engage and lost what few pelts I had on my horse. No big loss as there weren't many and not worth much. Seems to be no discernable pattern that I've noticed as to what determines when you will lose or retain what's on your horse when killed.
  3. Yeah but his point is about being griefed by campers at the butcher and sometimes losing everything. I have issues too with not getting paid for all my pelts (didn't notice it getting worse though). .....but I still get decent money for what I do turn in including the 3 carcasses I usually have strapped to my horse.
  4. I think he took your mention of killing players who were trying to "help out" the law as being victims of indiscriminate killing by you. I was assuming you're talking about players who are targeting you from the get go. .....seeing it as an opportunity to engage in a gun battle with you.
  5. You're right but IME, once I equip my two long arms and check that they are loaded with the right ammo, I don't have to worry about it. In other words, I can switch between the two and they will still be set to Express ammo, etc. The issue I have is when I start switching one of the weapons in the slots. I have to recheck when I re-equip weapons. WIth my sidearms, I never change them so I just make sure they are set with Express ammo at the start of the session and I'm ready to go.
  6. You really should. You're really putting yourself at a disadvantage if you don't especially against higher level players. RDO rewards those with high levels. For example, when I unlocked Express ammo, I discovered I could still hold the max limit for regular ammo as well. .....so for a gun like my Lancaster, I can carry 400 rounds vs. the 200 I was limited to before level 34(?). I'm guessing once I unlock High Velocity, I will be able to carry 600 rnds. I honestly think the limit should be at the amount of ammo regardless of what you choose (say 200). .....with exceptions for things like explosive ammo of course which should remain heavily restricted in that respect. Ability cards are the same way. They're level locked and expensive to upgrade. Newer players are at a definite disadvantage in this sense. It makes a big difference and can really help those of us who are attempting to find ways to keep from being victims of griefing.
  7. Interesting thought... In my case (last night), I respawned in the area near "The Boy" in Valentine (if you know where that side mission is). I was stabbed right at the butchers table. My horse was there as well but they didn't get to it before I could call for it. ....but as I said, they really sucked at trying to be griefers.
  8. I reset them as soon as I can. You get 500 XP right away when doing that and some gold nuggets IIRC. It's also cumulative so if it's maxed out and you wait to reset it, any activity that would affect the challenge will essentially be wasted. .....it won't count toward the next reset if that makes sense. Personally, I would reset ASAP so you can begin benefiting from activity right away that would apply to the next award.
  9. Not exactly sure how it's supposed to work but I'll give you an example of an instance last night where I was killed and didn't lose my pelts... It was late and I wanted to turn in my skins (including a big game one) to the butcher. I was already close to Valentine when I noticed a posse of two in town. I knew better since the leader was at the butcher but his indicator was full brightness suggesting they were not engaged with the merchant. Anyhow, I rode up to the butcher and was promptly engaged by the troll. He was waiting to ambush anyone who was there to trade. Unfortunately for him, here got a face full of buckshot. Against better judgement I tried to hurry up any get in the merchant menu but was stabbed by his posse mate. When I respawned, I called my horse and saw all the pelts were still there. I killed the guy that stabbed me and the leader as he tried to run toward us. These griefers were not any good at what they do and I later noticed they were only level 11. ....I'm level 42 and my friend is a few ranks higher. They were easily dispatched. Anyhow, I decided to ride down to Rhodes and leave these guys to do whatever trollish things they do in Valentine. I got my money for all of my goods, we did some bird hunting and signed off. ......but not without blocking their profiles first. btw, if I didn't have goods that I was worried about losing and was either solo or with one of my more aggressive mates, I would have stayed to reverse grief these guys until they left the session. ....instead of just killing them a couple times.
  10. You're right, it isn't a big deal. ....and certainly nothing you should get grief over IMO. I'll move it now. Welcome to the forums btw. It's good to have you here.
  11. Thanks but it won't make a bit of difference unless more do too. https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892
  12. Folks digging around in files found placeholders for properties numbered 1 through 10 with this format: This was back in October 2018. There were also similar placeholders for various types of wagons, etc. ....so, this could be a possible sign of things to come that they are planning.
  13. ....just glad items like explosive ammo are severely limited.
  14. ....so I guess there is no option to disable then. I know there is an option to vote kick and we've always tried to ready up as soon as possible but seems like a real crappy way to do it (e.g. kicking players). Thanks for the info though. I guess I'll submit this to R* as another feedback item.
  15. Good call but he's asking about craftable ammo. Could be out of curiosity for defensive purposes and/or maybe hasn't attained the level yet, etc. I recall hearing that explosive ammo is limited to something around 10 rounds per weapon. Can't say the same for split ammo, etc.
  16. That's is my question. If there is one, where is it?
  17. Yeah but my question is how. There doesn't seem to be an option that allows me a choice.
  18. Hi Goober, First of all, welcome. This site is a wealth of information and generally speaking, the community is a great group of folks. Please note however, that this is a fan site and not a Rockstar official forum. If you wish to provide feedback on the beta (and I encourage you to), here is a link: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892 There is also a lot of information at RDR2.org that can help you overcome the issue some have with what we call griefers and trolls. I would also recommend trying to seek out online friends who you share similar interests with so you can explore and do activities with a group vs. solo. RDO is much more rewarding that way and safer with the added security a posse provides. https://www.rdr2.org/forums/clubs/ If you're on PS4, feel free to join ours (my PSN Community is linked within): Please note that R* has also announced new anti-griefing measures that they will be impletning soon that will hopefully mitigate the issue: https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/60804/Red-Dead-Online-Beta-Update Hope this helps.
  19. Is there any way to join a game with just a party of 2-3 of your friends in a posse? A way to block randoms from joining? I always see the missions require 2-4 players but then there is no way (that I know of) to only play with 2 -3 players if you want to.
  20. Yeah..... Basically, the only official news we so far have is what they've released in their Newswire. ....although that info from what was mined from the app seems to have merit. Pure assumption on my part but I'll wager the private session options will come later in the beta or perhaps final release. In the meantime, it makes sense to me that they would continue to keep everyone Free Roam for simplicity and while they still test the stability of sessions, etc. There is obviously still problems in that regard in RDO. ......and if they were planning to include invite-only options sooner rather than later, I would guess it would have been part of the "coming soon" list they just published recently but who knows.
  21. The only information I have heard that might indicate the introduction of invite-only sessions down the road was what was uncovered by data miners back in October last year from the companion app: Beyond that (and even with that), it's all speculation unless I've missed some other official news.
  22. Make sure you're telling Rockstar how you feel: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892

    Bored

No harm in stepping away between updates. I may do the same at some point. I'm currently playing 2 additional games as it is anyhow and more are coming. ....but I'll likely still be diving into RDO. Hell, I still play GTA from time to time.
  24. In that sense yes, I agree. The comparisons can be unfair given that RDO is still in beta and under development. Personally, I prefer to wait and see rather than come to any hard conclusions about the game in this early state. ....but that just me.
  25. I haven't noticed anything in regard to missing or fewer NPCs or even animals for that matter. .....but as Krow mentioned, I have heard other complain about it. Perhaps not relevant but I'm on PS4. I would certainly make R* aware of your issues though (if you haven't already): https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892
