  1. Hi Red, I have moved your post to the Posse Recruitment sub-forum. May I also suggest that you include your platform in your profile to make it easier for folks to identify. Also, feel free to explore the Posse section where you can create your own RDR2.org group fellow members can join: https://www.rdr2.org/forums/clubs/
  2. I didn't expect the beta to be over that fast but then again, R* didn't imply that it would. ......quite the opposite in fact when they said the beta will continue "over the next weeks and months." before release in their Newswire announcement. I do understand that on console most may be used to what devs call "beta" as being more marketing for their game and/or stress tests for their servers. Those usually last a week or so before game launch and few things are typically changed in the final release. RDO is a work in progress and I think R* was pretty up front with that since they announced it. Well, there was more than that discussed in the latest news (e.g. daily challenges, all-new missions, dynamic events, lots of new competitive modes, new weapons / clothing and "lots more that we’re not quite ready to announce just yet."). As for griefing, R* already mentioned that it was one of the most popular topics they received feedback for. .....so it's obviously quite important to a lot of other people although some may not feel it is. This is why R* has made those changes a focus in the update(s) that will be coming soon. If griefing is left unchecked, I will say that many of the co-op / PvE fans will be the ones saying the same thing you are about RDO (re: being a ghost town if they don't do something about it). Yeah sure, folks who aren't satisfied with the direction are going to leave (myself included if I feel the same way) but that doesn't mean everyone will abandon the game. Folks were making similar predictions about GTAVO and yet it's still going strong. I agree. These are things I would enjoy seeing in RDO as well and who knows, some or even all of them may be coming. Well, whether folks like it or not, MTXs are the backbone of the GaaS model. Whether its Shark Cards or Gold Bars, MTXs are what drive sustain these online modes into the future. Personally, I have no problem with Gold Bars in RDO. Anything locked behind them is essentially cosmetic and you don't need to buy them if you don't want to. RDO is not a P2W model. I can see their reasoning for setting up the store early to make sure it is in place before adding new content. .....especially before Christmas. It's just a smart business decision. I agree that RDO is lacking content right now and features that I would also like to see implemented. ....and yeah, I too would like to see those sooner rather than later but I think some folks expected a lot of things to come much faster than they are which is obviously not the case. Hell, even I might shelve this game until they do but I'm not ready to abandon it all together. I continue to keep a "wait and see" attitude about the whole thing.
  3. What was their response? Did you report it through the bug / technical issue path or as feedback? If you report it as a bug, a ticket will be opened and you will receive a response. .....whether that response is helpful or not is another story. Screenshots can also help if you submit those.
  4. You're right, it has been going on since day one at least with myself and my friends I've talked to about it. However, although I won't get paid for some skins, I still do however hunt elk, deer or whatever else I can get in my sights. I still get paid for some of them but I always get paid for the meat, antlers, claws, wolf hearts, scent sacks, etc. In fact, meat can pull in a tidy sum and given the fact that skins are hit and miss I won't bother most times even worrying about the condition. I prefer the quantity over quality approach and try to take down herds. Birds do bring in quite a bit for me as well though especially Condors in the New Austin area.
  5. Yeah, although I have doubts the stats tell the whole story, slugs don't do anymore damage than regular shells. ......again, according to the stats. In the campaign, it's different as they say they do more damage just like Express rounds do for other weapons. Makes me wonder though if this is something where it's just a mistake in the stats and they actually do in RDO or not. As for my "go to" weapon, it's the Lancaster. I tried but found the the bolt action rifle (for me) was a waste of money. The weapons I use the most are the Lancaster, the pump action shotgun, the rolling block rifle and my two Schofields. I've been teetering on the Litchfield and the only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on it is due to its slower rate of fire. Good to know it holds two more rounds than the Lancaster though. I may just buy it.
  6. Nope, I have the issue too. OP, its not that the game is getting buggier. In this case, this has been a long running issue. I've had this problem since day one. I have tried everything and I have switched outfits at tailors, in camp, from my horse, etc. What I have to do each session is get in my first and select the saved outfit I want. Goes without saying that I would recommend contacting R* about it. I haven't yet since it's been an easy bug to get around but I will today. .....I'm sure it's a known issue as I know others with the same problem.
  7. Yeah, there is unfortunately. I get why but sometimes it gets in the way of trying to plead your case. IIRC the character limit is 500 which may seem like a lot but it isn't really. ....I mean, this response alone is over 200 characters including spaces.
  8. Yeah..... More story missions, etc. was listed in the "more to come this year" part of their statement vs. the "coming soon". Who knows though.
  9. I know its not scientific but I bought them for mine and didn't notice any difference (online). I really wish R* would provide feedback on items like these as to what (if any) advantage they have in-game. For things like saddles it's easy to see their effect because they have descriptions showing what they are. Are these others things simply cosmetic or are they intended to provide a benefit?
  10. Oh no Mahuk.... I knew you were joking around. I just mentioned it because I submitted the complaint earlier today and they responded. I saw your reply and just thought I would mention it is all. 😀
  11. fyi... I received a response from R* Support that they are aware of the issue and working on it. I just hope it gets addressed in one of the updates coming sooner rather than later. .....but I could say that for a lot of the issues.
  12. Fyi.... I contacted Sony and couldn't get a straight answer to my question that if I block someone through PSN if it will keep me from being matched to that player in the game (specifically RDO). They kept running around the question with their answers instead of just giving me a straight yes or no. THey referred me to R* which is no surprise. It appears that the PSN block doesn't control that but game developers may take it into account. ....or (more likely), game devs don't take that into account at all and base blocks on their own in-game features, reporting techniques, etc. I guess at this point it appears it really doesn't help blocking people. .....unless the guy had no idea what he was talking about which it seems like that may have been the case since he kept dancing around the question.
  13. You might want to also try going through R* Support to ask them. https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892 Report it as a technical issue and see if that gets you an answer.
  14. I know, it sucks. I take it XB1 has a block feature? I would use it. I would also use the report option in the menu to report "disruptive behavior". Personally, as soon as everyone else started spawning in, I would have moved on. .....especially once the griefer showed himself. I would have slipped away as he trolled the other players who stayed behind. As bad as that sounds, you gotta do what ya gotta do. I guess we just have to see how the anti-griefing measures pan out. I'm a little skeptical too.
  15. This has nothing to do with me being a moderator or a reflection on RDR2.org. My replies to you have been from one community member to another simply asking you to show the same level of respect I have shown you here. I would have replied the same if I weren't a mod. The only difference then would be that I would have simply added you to my ignore list. Again, I wasn't the one making the "spewing nonsense" remark about you had to say so if that's taking the high road because I don't, then so be it. Good luck Luke.
  16. Yes, it is. It's refreshing given how toxic many other forums can be that I've been a part of over the years. The community in general is very nice.
  17. I'm not the one who was saying you were "spewing nonsense" now was I. I've been quite civil about it. We're done. Let it go.
  18. I think it's apparent that R* is dead set on blending PvP and PvE together in their games. I don't think RDO will ever truly be a PvE experience unless they introduce private sessions. However, I also believe R* wants to take a different tack with RDO in the sense of how far they are going to allow trolls to grief unwilling victims in this game. Frankly, I don't think the fixes they have announced will actually get us to the point where everyone is satisfied that griefing has been addressed. Quite honestly, while I thought it was a great idea before, I am now having reservations about the proximity blips. As it is, I can currently see everyone on the map so I know the places to avoid. With proximity blips, griefers will have a level of anonymity too. .....at least until they start killing people. Watching your back will be even more difficult. I like the marking idea for griefers but still not sure on the while proximity idea. I guess we'll have to see how that works out. IMO, I think trolls may use this to some sort of advantage at least in the beginning since the marking of trolls will be implemented after the proximity change according to the update:
  19. Nonsense? You were suggesting folks on roofs were "glitching" which they are not but you chose to ignore the point and get into the semantics of the term exploit. An "exploit" or even a "glitch" is a flaw in the game's mechanics, game world, programming, etc. that people take advantage of. In this case (and the main point), the rooftops are accessible to all players by design. There are ladders everywhere in the towns as well as the climbing mechanic that you can use. That is not an exploit, glitch or a cheat and neither is shooting up the town from that position. To Skully's point, if someone is shooting up NPCs from those positions to gain XP, there's nothing to report. If however they are griefing players from those positions, then report it as disruptive behavior using the in-game feature if you so choose. I would also suggest blocking them as I do. As for "cheats" and real exploits, again, I would encourage you to report this kind of behavior to R* if you have proof. I'd be happy to continue this discussion with you in a civil manner (as I have been) but not if you're going to become disrespectful. Seems a select few of you have been projecting your frustrations with the game / R* on fellow community members. You need to remember that this is a fan site, not a R* forum.
  20. I would keep up the input if you have new information to share with them. Repeatability is a big help when trying to diagnose problems. If you find it drops at certain times, instances, etc. (like what you said when you get close to other players), I would let them know that bit of info if you aren't already. For me, while it doesn't happen frequently, it's usually when I'm in a posse. I'll wager it has something to do with player lag and how it affects others. I've had problems in posses before and then when one player leaves, everything goes back to normal. This may be totally unrelated but in GTAVO players were able to use an exploit using the MTU settings on PS4s to force themselves into a public session alone. I use it because I hate griefers but still want to participate in the CEO / VP missions, etc. Anyhow, my point is that I tried this exploit in RDO and it would not connect. In fact (IIRC), I had to have my MTU setting set to 1500 (max) or close to even get a connection. It makes me wonder that perhaps RDO is less forgiving of fluctuations in internet performance? .....I dunno, I'm relatively clueless when it comes to network matters.
  21. No problem. Please share anything you find out from Sony as I'm quite curious as well. Thanks.
  22. In GTA you were given the choice IIRC to close the mission of to others to fill the rest of the empty slots. Could be a missing component/option that they may some day include in the matchmaking process.
  23. Likely part of some future content like heists in GTA.
  24. Agreed..... I don't like the parley system but it should at least be applied to the whole posse or why don't they just make it that the player can't be killed by anyone in the session and vice versa for those 10 minutes?
  25. Tried that and it doesn't work. .....at least I my case. As soon as the next item sells, the ones that didn't will simply disappear with no cash value added to your funds.
