  1. I use the Springfield quite extensively. It's deadly and I like it a lot. ....way more than the bolt action but as mentioned, that's just preference. Maybe I need to give the BA another shot? I also prefer the Lancaster over the Litchfield. I like the speed advantage that it has between shots in both hunting and defense. ....but again, I could end up changing my mind. Other than the Varmint Rifle, this is one reason I like the weapon balance in RDO. When people are choosing weapons based on personal preference, specific tasks, etc., you know you're on the right track (IMO).
  2. The PvP / PvE aspect of Free Roam is obviously a well debated topic and one that has sparked some obvious divides among some folks. All I'm saying is that we can still discuss the topics here with a level of civility without trying to belittle someone or a group of fellow members simply for sharing a difference of opinion. That only serves to incite a negative reaction in others followed by a toxic exchange. What good does that do? Hey, I get tired of hearing some folks as well on forums for one reason or another so I just use the ignore feature and voila. .....I don't have to read their remarks. I can't really do that here because I'm a mod (I need to see what folks are posting), but I think you get the point. All I will say about your examples of "whiners" is that in RDOs case, those folks used the feedback site R* provided to lodge their complaints and make their suggestions. ....and this wasn't a small group according R*. This feedback is the reason they are implementing anti-griefing measures for those who indiscriminately kill (using their own words). No one here is privy to all of the gameplay data, feedback, reports, etc. that R* is. .....and I have to believe they are using all of that valuable information to help drive their decisions vs. making knee-jerk choices based on the opinion of a small minority of their player base. Look, my point is that slamming people for voicing their opinion isn't the answer. First, it doesn't help change anyone's opinion on the topic and second, it doesn't change anything with the game. Unlike other betas on console, RDO is still in development and R* is taking feedback seriously in it's development. They have been urging people to use their feedback page to submit their own ideas, suggestions, bug reports and complaints. I've used it several times myself. If you really don't like the direction you think RDO is going, I would urge you to do the same.
  3. I like the suggestions from @BropolloCreed79 and even if they need tweaking to make them work, at least they are suggestions to help bring about some semblance of balance in Free Roam. .....and contrary to what some will believe, balance is all some of us really want (not a totally neutered experience for those who like the PvP element). I like the fact that instead of shooting down ideas, he's at least trying to find ones that work for all. As far as R*s vision, they have stated that RDO was a mode for all and I've quoted their marketing them time and time again. If their descriptions are to be taken at their word, they didn't intend Free Roam to be a free for all from the outset. Perhaps they thought player interactions would be a more organic experience than it turned out to be but if they were OK with the current indiscriminate killing/trolling, they wouldn't be working on "anti-griefing" measures. Speaking of which, I'm interested to see what they have planned for the posse system. It sounded to me that they may be planning to integrate other players into the mix as lawmen when bounties are issued. IMO, this should be something true PvP'ers would see as a challenge as they could take on the role of a real outlaw or as lawmen helping to protect other players in the session. Personally, I would think PvP'ers would welcome the challenge while true griefers, not so much.
  4. Seems to me that we can all share our own opinions openly and constructively without disrespectful remarks to one another including groups of people. This thread appears more like a not-so veiled insult toward a segment of the community rather than one actually making a point about the game. If you guys really want to affect change, I would encourage you (as I do with everyone) to submit your feedback to R* here: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892 One of the reasons RDR2.org is such a great place IMO is due to its community, it's generally welcoming atmosphere and the overall respect for each other even when we disagree. Not everyone is going to agree on what we would like to see in this game but I would think we could discuss it rather than trying to belittle one another. Also, it's a working beta and one where R* is using the feedback to make changes as they develop RDO. I think we can all share our opinions with a certain level of mutual respect, yeah?
  5. Something's wrong then. I know for a fact that hay will show in the left slot when I have it in my inventory. Not sure what's going on then.
  6. I've played with folks from the UK and as far as Hong Kong (I'm on the West coast of the U.S.). ......rarely any issues. In fact, I hardly have issues regardless of who I play with but I still do have them once in a great while. I don't know what the circumstances are that cause this issue more for some than others, but I think the important thing to note here is there are still connection issues R* needs to address.
  7. Just an fyi.... The details regarding the last status update are also stickied at the top of this forum for reference if anyone needs it:
  8. IIRC, you can at least get them to show up on the left item location. Just scroll through the items in that spot until you get to the oatcakes and they should stay. I know I had them there at one point when I ran out of hay. ....and btw, hay is a great item to feed your horse as well if you didn't know. ....and it's only 25 cents a pop.
  9. Moved to RDO forum....
  10. Maybe he's just talking about having as many friends as they can get join the same session. I see nothing wrong with that and it actually sounds pretty cool if they can do it. .....given we don't have any private session options.
  11. At the time, I enjoyed it. ........at the time. If they were to introduce a UN2, I don't know if I would be on board this time around. I've been all "zombied out" for quite a while.
  12. I'll wager quite a few folks feel the same way and why R* chose to focus on it last week.
  13. Just note that the link above is to the "online" feedback page. The "Feedback" option is for feedback regarding RDO only. However, the "Bug / Technical Issue" option will take you to their Support site which will allow you to report problems, etc. for both online and the campaign (the one I linked to).
  14. Well, they probably say that because it is a beta. Whether some folks choose not to accept that statement is not going to change the fact that it is. Also, R* was up front that RDO would be a work in process that would take weeks or months to develop. .....before they even mentioned the "coming months" remark in the last progress update so (at least to me) it was no surprise. As for MTXs, I personally don't see the issue. You don't have to buy Gold Bars and they are not required for access to weapons, ability cards, etc. R* made it clear that anything locked behind GBs will essentially be cosmetic. This game is a GaaS model like GTAO. The reality is that things like Shark Cards and GBs are an essential part of this model and are what sustain these games and drive future updates / content. It's why GTAO is still popular and selling strong several years after it's release. It makes sense to me that they would establish the MTX component early on in RDO so that it's in place as they begin to release new content including new outfits, etc. ....but again, no one is forcing players to buy those items nor are they required for access to weapons, etc. I never paid for Shark Cards in GTAO and probably will never buy GBs in RDO. .....and yet I still play GTA and will likely be active in RDO long into the future as well. IMO, they are two games I feel were well worth the $60 each I paid for them. I can't say the same for most other titles I've purchased through the years.
  15. This is a big one for me. The campaign doesn't have co-op and there is no private session options now or in the foreseeable future. Also, it's not all about hunting and fishing. Some PvE'ers and co-op parties want to partake in the story and side missions of RDO as well like I (and my friends) do. R* created RDO as an experience for all players (PvP and PvE alike) and they have stated time and time again: ....or rather, an online shooting game meant to blend PvE and PvP gameplay together. What do I expect? ......balance. To be brutally honest, all I care about is that R* has recognized that many of their customers are not happy with the current trolling problem and they are willing to do something about it. Whether that will help or make the problem worse is another story.

  17. Multiple accounts or maybe platforms.
  18. See ya Lemon. FYI.... I'll keep posting updates on the PSN Community including patches, etc. so folks in your position as well will still know what's going on. ....in case you want to revisit the game again after a more meaningful update. Regards, Kean
  19. Welcome Nate. Yeah, probably not ever going to join you during that time frame but we do have folks here from the UK and other parts of the world. .....so while that time may not be so convenient for a lot of folks in the U.S., it could be for them.

    racist people

What I don't get are some of these YT personalities that should know better but still let slip racial/derogatory slurs that they then regret, make excuses and have to apologize for. .....especially when they portray themselves as "culturally sensitive". I'm far from being any kind of SJW and I certainly believe a lot of that stuff gets taken too far, folks being too sensitive, etc., but I would never say some of the things these people have said and I think there's no excuse for it. That's not the way I was raised nor the way I would raise my own child.
  21. Yeah, most of the times I play alone is usually just to hunt/cook food and/or to sell goods for money. ....sometimes for XP but not really anymore.
  22. I thought that stuff was automatically moved to your new saddle?
  23. Of course not. .....and thanks. No worries. It's my pleasure. I saw it on my Twitter feed and hadn't noticed anyone post it yet so I thought I would. ....plus, being semi-retired, I'm not doing a whole lot of other important things anyways. As for right now? .....yes. Seems the other items will require an update they will have to push out to users to be downloaded so those will come with the next TU when that's done and approved by MS / Sony.
  24. RDO way more fun with friends than alone. Anyone can play solo but helping out friends, co-op'ing in missions and simply sharing the whole experience is much more rewarding IMO / IME. .....and I do mean friends, not randoms (that's a whole different story). To be quite honest, playing with friends is probably the only thing still keeping me going right now with the lack of content.
  25. I'll probably spend it on finishes for my weapons. As for their focus, it may actually be that these PvP modes are really popular. I dunno... I never play them. We also have to remember that title updates have to go through a Sony/MS certification process that can take a month or more.
